Chapter VII: Maniac Monday
Maniac Monday belongs to The Bangles.
Six o'clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin' Valentino
By a crystal-blue, Italian stream
But I can't be late
'Cause then I guess I just won't get paid
These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made
It's just another manic Monday
Sakura was seated at the table in her mother's kitchen too early in the morning, having the first of the many cups of coffee she would have during the day. Because against her wishes and desires, Monday had come again, and with the beginning of the week, the responsibilities appeared all at the same time. She knew that long shifts were waiting for her at the hospital, some surgeries, classes to attend, and some paperwork, but still, the memories from yesterday were playing in her mind and in her heart. Sakura knew she was foul; nobody could fall in love in two days, but she was already feeling the butterflies in her stomach, and she couldn't do anything about it. Ino would say that she wasn't feeling butterflies, she was just horny and hot for that man, but Sakura didn't care a bit what her friend could say or think.
Although the day was already warm, Sakura, still in Kakashi's hoodie, felt fantastic. Kakashi had been a gentleman with her since she arrived at his house; he had taken care of her, they had shared an entire day watching tv, he cooked for her, they cuddled together, they shared some heated kisses, and then he walked her home with the promise of an actual date anytime soon.
Sakura sighed with the mug full of the brown liquid hiding her nose; everything was perfect. Except they haven't had sex yet. An aking demand that needed some attention because no matter how lousy the butterflies in Sakura were, she still wanted Kakashi inside her.
Sakura instinctively crossed her legs, searching for some friction, when she saw her mother approaching. She was so tired of this situation, she wanted her apartment so much, and it was still so far. She didn't have problems with her mother. Her mother was a lovely woman who took care of her in the best possible way and was very adorable, maybe too much adorable and too much careful and protective, and it was ok when being a teenager, but now that she was thirty, it was just too much. Sakura forced a smile. She couldn't deny herself that she loved her anyway.
"Good Morning, sweetheart." Her mother began pouring herself some coffee too.
"Morning mom," Sakura answered, "You arrived late yesterday."
"Oh, yes dear, we had some delays, you know what I mean." Her mother said, winking an eye.
"Mom please... I don't need to know what you do." Since her parent's divorce, her mother had been dating guy after guy till she found boyfriend number ten, which she chose not to remember his name, but apparently made her mother happy and kept her busy in the sex field. Sakura didn't know if she felt disgusted or envious, but luckily she never had to witness any of her mother's activities, not even now that they were sharing apartments again. At least the woman had some decency.
"And what about your weekend, Sakura?"
"What about it?" Sakura replied defensively.
"Exactly, what about it? What did you do? How was it?" Her mother was persistent. What was she going to tell her?
"Oh... Nothing, it went smooth and quiet. I went to the park, watched tv..." Lier.
"And that hoodie? It's not yours, Sakura."
"This old thing?" Sakura was getting more and more uncomfortable. She was moving to wash her cup now just to avoid her mother's gaze.
"It doesn't seem that old for me."
"I don't know mom, I must got it from the hospital. I have to shower ok? let's talk later."
Sakura arrived at the hospital at least half an hour later. Avoiding her mother's questions, getting ready to work, and finally taking the train had been the worst thing she had to do on a Monday morning. And things didn't seem to get better, but all the contrary. Once at the changing room and already dressed with her comfortable white scrub and ready to start her rounds, she was called immediately to the administration department, where they needed to talk to her urgently. Sakura was already thrilled; maybe an extensive surgery was waiting for her.
"WHAT?" Sakura yelled
"Sakura, please calm down; it's not that bad; it's just a few hours per week. It's only this month." Shizune, her superior, told her, trying to not get killed during the conversation.
"Shizune, listen, this is ridiculous." Sakura tried to calm herself down. "I'm not even a gynaecologist."
"But you are a doctor, Sakura. And you know how the body works, and these are teenagers, they are not interested in anything." Shizune tried to lighten the issue.
"You are asking me to go to Konoha Highschool to give a bunch of teenagers sex education. Don't you think it's a little more important than how you are treating the issue, Shizune? They are starting to have sex or having it and you want me to irresponsable talk there?" Sakura had a point, and she wasn't a professional in that area. She had the idea that talking about sex was more important than just standing in front of a class showing them how to use a condom.
"I know you are right, Sakura, but we are out of personal, and you are the best we have in everything you do," Shizune said honestly, "I promissed you that as soon as I find somebody else, you'll be out of that school in the blink of an eye."
"Agrrr... Shizune... you ow me, ok? I do this just for you," Sakura finally said, pinching the bridge of her nose. "When do I start?"
"In two hours...?"
"Ok... I've just crossed all the city and I'll have to do it again. Ok, Shizune I hope you remember this in the future." Sakura finished leaving the office.
"Thank you!" Shizune yelled through the closed door.
Kakashi woke up that Monday morning with the idea that his week would be more complicated than what he wanted or expected. After the weekend he had just had, nothing would ever be the same again, and overall, nothing would be easy again. Because Sakura was now in his head, and he had already decided that he wanted her. Not only physically but also in his life, in which condition it didn't matter: girlfriend, friend, friends with benefits, it was the same, it was something that he would have to work with time, and he trusted himself that he knew how he would solve the Sakura puzzle. What was bothering him was an aking sensation that everything around him was quickly changing, and somehow he felt like he had put himself involuntarily in the market again. He would agree to go on a date until last Friday but do nothing about it. Instead, now, he was obliged to begin the seduction game, the comings and goings of flirtings and the strategies for winning. Even if he knew that half of the job was already done by casualty and by his own willpower because not having sex with her yet was a bold move. It could create a slow burn tension only appeased with heated kisses, leaving space for second and third dates, or it could cause a definite goodbye; luckily, it had been the first one, so this was far from over. The game was on, and he had to put all his intellect and witty mind to work because Sakura was not like any other woman he had ever met. Sakura was particularly smart, sharp, and astute.
Kakashi hated Mondays since always because not everything in his life was about Sakura and matching games. The beginning of the week was a compendium of situations that irritated him, although they were diluted with the passing of days until they disappeared. He was conscious that he had to face his friends again and that he would have to talk to them about the pink-haired woman sooner or later. He had to meet principal Tsunade and listen to her requests for the week regarding his classes and the 'English Theater Week', a festival in which she didn't have the option to say no since it was required by the parents who paid the fees month by month, main reason why Tsunade loved to do it to annoy him and the students since every year ended in disaster, and finally but not less important, the adolescents he had as students. Those little perverts.
Kakashi looked with envy at Pakkun, who was lazily resting in the same spot where Sakura had been sitting yesterday, and he wished with all his heart to be that dog for a while. The ball of fur was born to be fed, loved, and caressed without worrying about the external world and the complications that implied being human. Pakkun looked him back, and with a soft bark like a smile, he gave Kakashi an answer: "pleassseee, be a man." So with a huge grunt, Kakashi took his mug of coffee, washed it and then got ready to go out.
Kakashi arrived at the parking slot of the school just in time to ask himself once again why he decided to change his prior work for this one, answered him that being forensic was turning him into a really dark person, picked up his satchel and run to Tsunade's office before it was too late because actually, he was always late.
Once at the Principal office door, Kakashi noticed that Tsunade was busy. Her personal assistant told him that she was at an important reunion and that she would talk to him later. Kakashi could go to his class and speak to the Principal later, and he was much more relieved, so he did as told. Talking with Tsunade was much better after the first period, so he went straight to class, so happy with his apparent good luck.
It was a mess. All the kids were jumping here and there, all talking at the same time about their weekend and the parties they had gone to. Who had spent the night with whom, and who was still a virgin. He got to listen to some comments about him and what he would have done during his days off, and while the pandemonium was still in displayed, he checked his desk, as expected all kinds of 'presents' were found there, 'presents' that most of them finished in the trash and others would go to Tsunade's.
Kakashi leaned on his desk and coughed loudly to make everyone shut up. The kids went to their desks in silence, and he waited as well with essays in hand.
"Yo~ Everyone," Kakashi began, and even if his tone was informal, there was no emotion in his voice, "I've read your papers. You, come and distribute them." He said, pointing at one boy sitting in the front line.
"How were them... Proffesor?" a girl said seductively. Kakashi lifted his eyebrow.
"Terrible, awful." He began. "I can't believe how you can't connect two ideas together."
"That book is too old, Proffesor." Another boy spoke pedantically. Kakashi walked to him and leaned over his desk.
"Are you saying that if I ask you an essay about Icha Icha, you can do it better?" Kakashi defied the class, lifting the little orange book full of smut. The course smiled nervously.
"Maybe?" A girl with her face full blushed answered him.
Kakashi turned on his heels, taping his chin and eying the book suspiciously.
"Ok, class..." Kakashi began deviously, "For next week, you will write an essay about Icha Icha, fifty pages. I want a description of the characters, their evolution, the scenarios, the relationships, the values, and the relation between the sexuality in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Icha Icha." If these kids wanted by the hard way, then the hard way would be.
The students started yelling all at the same time their complaints, and Kakashi was absolutely delighted with the situation. They were going to read Icha Icha if they wanted. Actually, he didn't find the difference between reading that and reading Sade, but it was not going to be just for the fun of the sex. They will have to work for it.
"Hatake! What the hell is going on here?" Principal Tsunade was at the door. Everybody got silent and went back to their places.
"Lady Tsunade, welcome. What can I do for you?" Kakashi said respectfully.
"I want to introduce you and the class to our new sex education consultant." Just in time, Kakashi thought. "Dr. Haruno Sakura, please come in."
And just like that, Kakashi fell on his chair because the world and the universe couldn't be more against him.
So... New scenarios for Kakashi and Sakura to meet each other. What do you think? As always, thank you so much for reading. I appreciate all your love, and I'll keep on waiting for them.
I wanted to tell you about some decisions I made for this AU. For example, I keep Kakashi as a teacher, and I think, as in the canon universe, he was an Anbu and had to do some difficult things until he left. I didn't want him to be an ex-policeman or detective here, so with his intelligence, I thought he would have been good at reading people and working in something relative hard or related to the canon universe, so that's why he is forensic. He doesn't have the Sharingan, but that's why I decided to make him a psychiatrist because maybe they see more than others. I don't know. He has PhDs because, actually, he was a genius from Konoha.
Well that's all for now.
I'll be waiting for your comments, love and favs ! Thank you so much as always.
