(So you know in this writing it's rather slow going. This one is to build on Kira's skills mostly. Those of you looking for a story like her and Light I'll warn you now. Nothing will happen until the second season.)

Chapter 2

I could hear Damen's laughter before the light even faded. Looking straight ahead I couldn't see Aphrodite. I suck in a worried breath before my gaze falls to my feet. Fully expecting to see her lying in a pool of blood or something. But the blonde tendrils glowing in the sunlight definitely aren't tinged red. "You call that power!" Aphrodite's small voice yelled at her brother. "You didn't do anything to me!" She proclaims causing a bead of sweat to touch my forehead. Damen's eyes widen. A large creepy grin spreads across his face as his laughter became louder turning his face a dark shade of red from the lack of oxygen.

"Ummm... Aphrodite.." I whisper towards her causing her to turn around. She was level with my thighs. I could see her eyes widen as a gasp escapes from her before she finally looked up. A small five-year-old version of Aphrodite with her large brilliantly blue eyes peering up at me nearly fills me with my own fit of laughter.

"Now!" Damen yells causing me to tear my eyes away from the comical sight in front of me. My gaze returns to Damen just in time to feel the heat of yet another bright violet light smacking me in the face.

My vision vanishes from the intensity of the light; I couldn't make out anything but the blinding light in my eyes. Even as it began to fade that sight was replaced by shadows as my eyes attempt to adjust. "We need to go!" Aphrodite yells just before I feel her grab my hand and yank me off of the roof. Did I just…. Did the same thing that happened to my cousin just… No... Right? I try to wrap my mind around the possibility while trying to use every ounce of my will, so it would not be true.

"You won't get away that easily!" Damen yells from the edge of the roof. The shadows have finally begun to recede and clear my vision allowing me to see him standing on top of the roof grinning down at us. "I will make it so no one ever finds you!" He declares his final words as he sends a ball of light in our direction. It slowly passes us mere moments before I hear something echoing throughout the area with a sickening crack as everything is engulfed in darkness.

"Kira… Kira wake up… Kira please wake up!" Faint sobs echo in my ears threatening to vibrate through my head. I could feel blades of grass tickling my nose and pain rushing through my body. Almost as if... I had fallen more than just from the roof of the mansion. "Kira…" The childish voice came again causing me to open my eyes. Finding myself laying face down on the ground in what looks like a grove of overly huge trees.

"Wha…" I whimper as I push myself to my knees. My backpack adds to the difficulty of managing this much. Feeling as if it was much heavier than ever before. I raise my hand to my throbbing head sifting my fingers into my hair to touch my scalp.

"Oh, Kira!" Aphrodite yells just as she wraps her arms around me. Her sobs of fear changing to tears of joy. "You're alright!"

"Yeah… ouch!" I snap as she squeezes my sore body a little too hard. "What's going on?" I finally manage to ask the question I dared not utter when we were running away from Damen.

"That is a long story. Are you sure we have enough time for that?" She asks setting back on her knees looking around. I allow myself to take in the sight around us of the empty forest and shrug.

"We seem to be out in the middle of nowhere. We should have time before Damen gets here. If... He's even after us still."

"Okay then!" She exclaims before wincing at her own shrill voice. "Darn childish mood swings." She mumbles under her breath in grumbles before she shakes her head and looks at me again. "Anyway. Damen went missing like a month ago. Saying a family settling for second rate wasn't his cup of tea. So we went on as normal cuz ya know, mom said he only needed time to cool down. But then I heard word on the wind that someone was hunting the princess." I watch as she raises her hand to the back of her neck sheepishly. "I had no idea it was Damen until I got to your place. He was trying to open the very portal you and I went through into the Death note world. That's when… Well, you came back. Quite unexpectedly might I say and about freakin time! I've been waiting for you for years!" Aphrodite exclaims now waving her arms around childishly before her cheeks go red once she realizes what she was doing. She raises her small fist to her mouth clearing her throat before continuing. "Anyways... He was going to kill you. I don't know where the whole turning us into kids and sending us hell knows where came from!"

"Yeah… about that..." I raise a hand to keep her silent long enough for me to talk. "Can this." I stand and point to my five-year-old body. "Be reversed?!"

I watch as she hangs her head. Automatically filling me with dread. "I… I'm not sure... I was hoping once I realized what happened that we could find mom and she could help but.." More tears begin to roll down her cheeks as she speaks. Abruptly she stands as she fruitlessly wipes her eyes dry. "Anyway, we need to find out where we are." Nodding in agreement now that most of the pain has finally faded I grab the straps of my bag and pull it higher on my back out of habit. Only successfully nearly sending me face-first to the ground. I would have hit too if it wasn't for Aphrodite catching me.

"Ok. I'll go this way and you go that way. We will cover ground more quickly and find the other once we figure something out." I speak as I point in the directions I was naming. Aphrodite, however... Didn't look happy at all with that idea. Whatever happened to the girl that did whatever I said?

"No. We should stay together. What if one of us finds someone and gets abducted or something without the other knowing? We may be five and strong for our ages but we wouldn't be able to take down a badass adult. We would stand more of a chance if we are together to fight."

"Paranoid." I mutter wrinkling my nose. Even though I couldn't disagree with her words didn't mean I had to openly agree either. I've never been in a situation quite like this before. Even when Taiyo was in scouts and Light took us all camping to help him earn his badges, I was out of my element even then.

"Wha!" She yells her eyes wide like saucers before suddenly she crosses her arms and puffs out her cheeks.

"Let's go. These childish mood swings of yours are about to turn my stomach." I mumble walking away from her with a sigh.

Little did these girls know. A figure was crouching on a tree branch watching them interact below him. "Here I come to investigate seeing something fall out of the sky and I find an emotional little girl and a rather emotionless little girl. Now... Should I inform the Hokage first or take these kids to him if they agree to come with me?" The nineteen-year-old watches the two walk off with a sigh. Kids. Why did I have to find kids? He follows them from above trying to find a perfect time to swoop down and... Well, he wasn't exactly sure what he was going to do with this situation.

The blonde seemed to get more hyper by the second as the other held onto the straps of a too big for her white travel bag containing black writing on it. Only talking when necessary almost as if she believes she is better than the other girl. When they suddenly stop, well she abruptly stopped causing the blonde to walk into her. "I think we should go right." The black-haired girl stated.

"What? Why?" The blonde child questions.

"Shouldn't you just listen to me like you used to? You did say that you were destined to be my right hand correct?" She turns around causing her long black hair to shine blue in the sun.

"Yeah... Once you are queen. We are meant to stand side by side with me as your Second." Wait... Queen? We have no queens only feudal lords, is this some children's game they play?

"Then be a good girl and stop questioning me." She coldly responds before finally making a noise that sounded like a growl. "Whatever if you must know. I can smell water. If there is something here in these trees it should be near water. You know like use trees to make a cover, find a source of fresh water, and have food at your disposal. It's basic survival skills meaning.."

"Oh yeah! If I was out here I would build a fort near a river!" The blonde explains causing a sweat drop to appear on her friend.

"I was more aiming for a house like an adult would rather than a fort. But let's get to moving. I can already feel this five-year-old mind trying to take over my logic." What is up with these two? Well, I guess now would be as good of a time as any. If they do as the black-haired girl says they'll end up in the village. Which is rather smart for a five-year-old.

*k*

Turning away from Aphrodite I give a grunt from how heavy my backpack was beginning to feel. I can kind of guess from the trees that we are in an anime of some kind. They seem familiar even though I can't necessarily place them right off hand. Which could you blame me? I haven't watched anime in thirty years!

It was then I felt something coming towards us, really fast too. I doubt my stubby legs would get me away from here or even if Aphrodite would have a chance. "Aphrodite…" I whisper to her as I stop walking.

"Yeah... I feel it too.." She whispers back from directly behind me. Finally, the childish antics that had been leading her gone from her voice.

"Must be strong if I can feel it. I haven't even had your training."

"Yeah. Whatever it is it's stronger than Damen that's for sure." Yeah right, but I'll go with it.

It was then someone wearing black pants, and a grayish corset-looking body armor landed in front of us. My eyes fell on the tattoo upon their upper arm practically at their shoulder before even looking up to their red and white animal-like mask. The mystery man was sporting silver gravity-defying hair that stuck out towards the left of him straight in the air. Odd... Yet familiar… Wait... My eyes began to widen as I heard Aphrodite gasp behind me. Could this really be Kakashi Hatake from before he left the Anbu to be a Jonin again? He seemed to be looking down at us for a bit as if trying to decide what to do now that he has our attention. I look behind me at Aphrodite who was doing an amazing job at not squealing but I could tell from her breathing she was close to losing that battle. Kakashi was an amazing character in the Naruto series. He was so amazing that when I would watch the anime I would swoon over his character. Much like I did with Light Yagami when I would watch Death Note before I lived through the anime. Kakashi was always my second choice of favorite anime characters. If this is the Naruto anime then… We can definitely trust Kakashi. The problem is… Getting him to remove his Anbu mask so we know for sure.

As if reading my mind Aphrodite suddenly begins cowering behind me making pathetic sounds of fear. I nearly laughed before raising my arms straight out to my side now glaring up at the Anbu. "Don't worry Aphro. I'll protect you!" I proclaim though honestly, I didn't know how I would. The only weapons I have were concealed away in my bag. A few kunai, a couple of shuriken, a dagger I had picked up at a store in the death note world. And… of course, my death note itself. I haven't seen Rem since Misa's death so I could only imagine that since he couldn't kill me he just went back to the shinigami realm. Having lost his love. Either way, I didn't have to worry about him.

Though if he cared about me he might have been able to cross the portal with me and could be helping me with this situation. Stop it, Kira. What if's wont work now. Keep your head in the game! Moving my hands into a fighting stance when I notice Kakashi take a step closer to me I growl at him. "Stop! I won't let you hurt my cousin!" I yelled before leaping at him. Automatically he caught my arm in mid-air as if catching a gently thrown ball and let me dangle in front of him.

"tch. I can't hurt you kids. Look I'm not the bad guy." He said only achieving a kick from my white sneaker-covered foot.

"Like we can trust you, masked man! As far as we know Damen sent you after us to finish us off!" I snarl at him until I felt a sudden pop in my shoulder from squirming so much causing pain to shoot through me. "Ow! Ow ow ow ow!" I couldn't stop myself from howling in pain.

"Kira!" Aphrodite yelled up at me with worry.

"Damn it! I think I dislocated my arm. Ok, put me down right now you… you! Old man! Or I'll give you a thrashing you'll never…" Suddenly I landed on my butt upon the ground with an oomph.

"Old man? Now see this is why I don't care for kids." He said before finally removing his Anbu mask and looking down at us. Just as we had hoped, it really was Kakashi Hatake. Knowing this sent a wave of relief through me. Well briefly at least, my arm is now throbbing with enough pain I could swear it was slowly killing me. But this means we landed near Konoha, which is better than the mist or something where we could have been killed on the spot. "See I won't hurt you. It's just a mask. Now, will you calm down before you hurt yourself again and let me talk?" He spoke down to us ignoring the fact that Aphrodite was now helping me up while avoiding touching my dislocated shoulder. I bit my tongue to keep my childish mouth from running again and waited to hear what he wants to say. I can't believe I just called Kakashi Hatake an old man. That's truly hypocritical of me.

"You are near Konoha, the village hidden in the leaves. I was only going to take you to the Hokage once I knew you weren't ninja from another village, which obviously you aren't." He looked at me for that comment and nearly earned another tongue lashing before I gave an exhale to try and calm down. This child's mind is really trying to take off with me.

"Then onward, take me to your leader." This smart-mouth comment was only understood by one of the two around me and she busted out laughing as if it was the funniest thing she had ever heard, as she holds her stomach tears slip from the corners of her eyes… Childish antics. Humph.
