Zack is digging under his couch for a wrestling boot that's somehow made its way under there, frustrating him, when he feels Dolph's warmth behind him, blinking against the dust bunnies under the couch. "Bro, this is nasty," he says. "We should really clean more."
Dolph shrugs, unbothered by the thoughts of just how awful it must look down there if Zack of all people is complaining about it. "Hey, you're home more than I am," he teases. "Should be yours to handle, right, kid?" He nudges him with his socked foot until Zack unearths himself and swats at him, his annoyance only lasting for a moment once he finally finds his boot.
"Yeah, sure," he grumbles. "Guess you're too busy having fun partnering up with Ryback, huh?" It had stung a little, watching Dolph and Ryback partnering, getting along. Of course, considering they'd been fired and rehired together, it makes some sense, but still. He's been back a couple of weeks and, outside of a showing at the Rumble, hadn't seen much TV time beyond that. Which really isn't much of a surprise considering how sporadically he'd been used before his injury... His glum sigh attracts Dolph's attention and he blinks, startled when Dolph moves to sit down next to him, bumping his shoulder.
"Hey, kid. Look, yeah it's fun working with Ryback, but I only have one true partner," Dolph says, continuing to nudge at him until he looks up. "And he's muscular and kind of goofy, yeah, but he's not named Ryan, you can trust me on that."
"What is his name then? Maybe I know him," Zack offers with a smirk.
"I think it's Matt or something," Dolph says with a shrug, grinning when Zack scoffs at him.
"Funny, I've always preferred guys named Nick," he responds. Dolph rolls his eyes and curls his fingers around Zack's jaw, drawing him in for a kiss.
"Idiot," he says fondly.
"Takes one to know one," Zack chuckles, leaning into Dolph and kissing at his neck.
"Yeah, yeah," Dolph says, rolling his eyes. "Here, it's getting close to supper time, let's go out and you can treat me to a pizza or something."
"Why am I treating you?" he grouses, already reaching for his wallet as he follows Dolph outside.
