It's a pointless tweet. Dolph knows this. But still. Still. He grumbles, swiping over his phone screen in aggravation, trying to forget about the dumb comment about Zack being at the gym in Cody's favorite shirt of his, but it's hard to let go. He exhales and scrubs his fingers through his hair, tossing his phone aside and going to sit outside to distract himself until Zack makes his way back home, gym bag slung over his shoulder as he hums to himself. "Hey, bro!" he calls out, teeth flashing as he grins at his husband. "What are you doin' out here?"
Dolph frowns at him. At his bag. Imagines the shirt bunched up in there with the rest of Zack's things, sweaty and wrinkled and well-worn. He sighs. "Have a good work out?" he asks with some bitterness, turning and making his way back inside, Zack blinking as he follows him with his eyes before realizing he's getting left behind outside and rushing to join him before he gets too far down the hall.
"Bro!" he calls out, just managing to catch the door to their apartment before it slams shut in his face. "What's wrong?" He waits until the door shuts so the neighbors hopefully will hear as little of this... discussion as possible. "Are you... jealous?"
Dolph turns slowly and glowers at him. "What is there to be jealous of, kid? You wearing someone else's preferred shirt while you go to the gym? Nothing to be seen here!" He waves his hands in exasperation and Zack stares at him, eyes wide and dark. "What next, are you and Cody going to start a podcast or something?"
Zack swallows and walks up to him, dropping his gym bag somewhere along the way. "Hey, bro, really. There's nothing going on here." He reaches out and grips Dolph's forearm, easing his hand down until their fingers are interlaced. "I wasn't even thinking about Cody when I put it on, I just grabbed the first clean shirt I saw." He ducks his head, trying to catch Dolph's eye. "Sorry what was said on Twitter bugged you, just some stupid joking among friends. Like what you do, right?"
Dolph sighs, aggrieved even more when he realizes Zack's right. He still jokes about AJ sometimes, and other exes he's had over the years, but then gets so ridiculous over a shirt. "I'm sorry," he mumbles, all of the jealousy and bitterness easing away as he looks up into Zack's face, watching a small smile overwhelm his solemn expression. "I was just being stupid, I guess. I know there's nothing going on between you and Cody."
"I'm not his type at all, bro," Zack laughs, leaning in closer and grinning brightly when Dolph kisses him. "So I'm glad I'm yours."
Dolph hums. "I'm glad about that too." He hesitates and smirks up at Zack. "Next time, though, I want to pick the shirt you wear."
Zack shrugs, not too bothered by the prospect. "Deal, bro." He laughs as Dolph kisses him again, eyes gleaming.
