Columbus Centurions Head Offices
Columbus, Ohio
Noon
Early March
It is a cool day in the state capital of Ohio bur inside the offices of the newly formed Columbus Centurions football team, it is warm and cozy. Inside the owners office wait two men, the first on is a tall white man with short cut brown hair and goatee. He is of average build and his blue eyes are confident and reassuring. He work a black dress shirt, brown dress pants and black leather shoes. He is General Manager and Executive Vice President of Football Operations of the Centurions, Todd Adamson. The second man is a smaller African-American man with black dreadlocks tied up in a ponytail. He is skinnier than Todd but just as tall. His brown eyes are slightly more nervous due to this being his first big job since joining the League. He is Kalvin Skinner, the head scout of the team. Both men are there to meet with the owner of the team.
"When do you think the owner will be here?" Kalvin asked.
"Any minute now," Todd answered, noticing Kalvin's nervousness, "Just relax, man."
"Easy for you to say, you've been doing this longer than I have," Kalvin said.
Before he could answer, the door opened up and soon walked in their boss, the owner of the Centurions. She is a tall white woman with shoulder length blonde hair and confident blue eyes. She is wearing a pink business suit with black high heel shoes. She had an athletic build from years of dedicated training. For Angela Wagner, the running of a football franchise was a first for her. It was the dream of her late to bring football back to Columbus and since he was the one who taught her everything she knew about business, she was determined to do just that. While she was the owner and CEO of Wagner's Food Markets, a business that stretched across the whole Mid West, she needed additional investors to make her bid for a team. She lucked out and she and her investors were given the last slot for a team. With that secured, she was named majority owner and she was determined to make this team into something, however she wanted to be realistic about it. She told her investors there was no guarantee they would be an instant success story and get out of the new formed Division Four within the first season.
She saw her GM and head scout waiting for her, she gave them a smile as she walked up to her desk.
"Welcome gentlemen, have a seat," She said to them.
Both men took their seats and so did Angela. While there was many thing still left to do, Angela and Todd had managed to already land a new head coach for the Centurions. They had chosen Tyrone Marcus, a former Blitz League player that played from 1988 til 2003, a respectable fifteen years. After retiring, he was quite for a few years before he began coaching collage football in the late 90's til roughly around 2012, when he jumped to the pros. He was a staple Offensive Coordinator for teams like Baltimore Bearcats, Seattle Reign and most recently, Las Vegas Aces. They had offered him contract after interviewing other potential candidates. The three are here to discuss the upcoming free agency and Blitz League draft.
"Alright gentlemen, we are going to need some veteran players to provide leadership and I believe we have an initial report on possible draft picks?" Angela said to both men.
Both men nodded in agreement, Angela looked over at Todd to get his opinion on veterans.
"I believe we found a very solid quarterback for our offense, he's affordable and quite good," Todd said to his boss, handing her the folder with the relevant information.
Angela took it and opened it up, she saw a tall white man with black hair and a heavy stubble wearing a Kansas City Crossfire jersey with the number #13.
"Nick Wexler of the Kansas City Crossfire is up for grabs this coming free agency. Guy's been in the League for 10 years and is still going strong. He's one of the reasons the Milwaukee Hounds managed to win a Division Three championship and get into D2. Word is that Crossfire to going to commit to DeShaun Waters they drafted two seasons ago, Nick has been just there to mentor him and he sat the sidelines for most of Division Three's season expect that game with the Steamers when Waters was injured, which Nick won single handily," Todd eplained.
"He played for Ohio State if I remember correctly." Angela stated.
"Exactly, having him come home would be a big boost for morale in the city. He is a feel good story to be honest, came from a broken home to become a Buckeye and win numerous Bowl games for them."
Angela kept looking over the info before looking at Todd.
"How much do you think it would cost us to get him to sign?"
"Like I said, he's affordable, he's only making 9 million dollars for the Crossfire right now, I'd say we sweeten the deal and give him three year deal worth 10 to 12 million dollars a sesaon."
Angela nodded at that, it seemed like a good deal to her. She handed back the folder to Todd, who proceed to give her his other folder, once she opened it, she saw a well-built white man with piercing green eyes and shaggy brown hair. He is wearing a Cleveland Steamers jersey with number #77 on it.
"That hulking man is J.R. Matthews, six year veteran Center of the Steamers O-Line. I think he would be great to snapping the ball to Nick and protecting him. He's been unhappy with the Steamers and is looking to get out. He's only making 2 million a year up in Cleveland, So I'm thinking of a four year deal for 4 to 6 million dollars a year."
Angela like that idea as, nodding her approval of that. She trusted Todd enough as GM, she heard about some owners who go "hands-on" with there teams and screw things up because they don't know how to run a football team. She didn't plan on doing that, she plans on trusting the people she hired to do things.
"Alright Kalvin, your up," She said looking over to him, "What players have caught your eye?"
Kalvin handed Angela a folder like Todd did. The blonde owner opened it up and saw a muscular Mexican-American man with a dark brown eyes and black hair that was in a short ponytail. He had the jersey of the New Mexico Lobo's on with then number #54 on it.
"First for defense, we got Toro Torres, star middle linebacker from the University of New Mexico. He's been rolling over offensives since he was a sophomore and could be the anchor for the Centurions defense. Experts in the League has compared him to Bruno Battaglia in terms of skill and aggressiveness but is said to be quite friendly unlike Battaglia," Kalvin explained.
"What's his projection in the Draft?" Angela asked.
"Top fifteen at the least, if we manage to get the number one pick when they draw from that lottery, we should pick him up, if not, lets hope nobody else does."
"Keep our scouts on him, once we're allowed to talk to him, I want us to be the first to talk to him," Angela said.
"Yes ma'am," Kalvin answered quickly.
"Now on to offense."
Kalvin gave her his remaining folder. She opened it up to see a taller but skinnier African-American man with corn row black hair. He is wearing a Boston Collage jersey with the number #88 on it.
"For that, we've been looking at Joshua Fremont from Boston Collage. Solid stats around, not the fastest guy but he has hands like Velcro, so he can catch whatever is thrown at him. He's projected to be a second rounder, so maybe we'll get lucky and get him unless picks him up as a surprise," Kalvin explained.
Angela smiled, she knew she had made the right choices for these positions.
"Good job, gentlemen," She said to them, "I want you to get on this immediately."
"Yes, Ma'am!" Both said.
And with that she dismissed them for the day and both men got up and left, Angela stayed in her seat and began to do more office work for the day.
As the two men walked down the offices, Kalvin breathed a sigh of relief, Todd simply gave him a pat on the back.
"You did good, kid."

Here is chapter 2! This chapter introduces the owner, GM, Head Scout and some of the possible people who could play for the Centurions. I chose the Columbus Centurions because I am a native of Ohio and I have family that live near the city.
Before I forget, Kristina Cruz-Williams is visually based on former G4TV host Kristin Adams and Centurions owners Angela Wagner is based on actress Tricia Helfer.
Next up will see if the Centurions can nail the number one pick in the Blitz League and if they land Nick Wexler and J.R. Matthews.
