Centurions General Manger's Office
Two Weeks Later
Todd Adamson is sitting in his office looking over the draft reports from his scouting department. It had been only a few days since the lottery had happened that would determine who in the Division Four would get the first round in the draft. Unfortunately for the Centurions, that pick went to the New Orleans Zombies. The Dallas Lawmen would get number two and the Centurions got pick three, so it wasn't a complete loss for them. The Centurions still had their eyes on Toro Torres for their pick in the first round. Kalvin had reported seeing a few other scouts looking at him but hopefully that wouldn't happen. Joshua Fremont was also being scouted but there was no guarantee he wouldn't go in the first round as a surprise pick, but he was projected to go in the second round. Todd had told Kalvin to scout out more offensive players in case of something would happen.
As Todd continued on with his work, his cell phone went off, he picked it up, hit the accept button and put the phone to his ear.
"GM Adamson speaking," He said.
"It's me," The voice of Nick Wexler's agent came from the other end.
"Hello there, I take it you read our offer?"
"Yes we did, and after speaking with my client and seeing if there was any better offer, we've decided to accept your 11 million dollar a season deal," The agent explained.
"That's great news!" Todd said with excitement, "We are looking forward to seeing Nick come home and play for this fair city again!"
After exchanging some more dialogue and said their goodbyes, Todd started to text his boss Angela Wagner.
"Good news, we just landed Nick Wexler!"
It only took a few minutes before he received a text back from her.
"Great job! Make sure the PR department hears about this and get them ready for a press conference!"
Todd got to work immediately on the task his boss told him to do. It had been a good week for him as he had already signed a multi-year deal with veteran center J.R. Matthews a few days ago, hopefully thing would keep going their way.
A few days later
Blitz League News
"Hello Blitz fans, this is Chris Newman with news from around the league!" The man said. He is a tall thin white man with dirty blond hair and brown eyes wearing a finely mad suit.
"The Columbus Centurions of the newly formed Division Four has made big moves to provide much needed veteran talent for their offense. They have signed veteran center J.R. Matthews from the Cleveland Steamers and more importantly, Kansas City Crossfire quarterback Nick Wexler has come signed with them after it was made clear that the Crossfire would be sticking with their newer, fresher QB DeShaun Waters for the foreseeable future," Chris explained as video of the press conference of the two newly signed starts played in a small box. It showed Nick and J.R. holding up the crimson and gold jerseys of the Centurions while Todd Adamson and Angela Wagner watch on from their seats beside them.
"In Division 3 news, Cleveland Steamers fans are voicing their disapproval of the team's decade long losing streak that started with the trading of Wide Receiver Henry Cho to the New York Nightmare. With abysmal attendance for nearly five years, rumors abound that the Steamers could be moving to a new city, with New Mexico being eyed as a potential new spot for a franchise," Chris stated as the video showed a nearly empty Cleveland Stadium with fans holding up signs that fling insults at the players and management.
"Division 2 is heading up as the San Francisco Samurai have picked up Atlanta 404's star wide receiver Alex Street on free agency. Street along with star quarterback Hideo Nishamura makes the Samurai heavy favorites to win the Division Two championship, with their hated rivals, the Los Angeles Riot not being far away, looking to put their past behind them and getting into Division One legitimately," Alex said as the video showed Street, a tall white man holding a black and blue Samurai jersey with the number #14 on it.
"And finally with Division One, the New York Nightmare acquire Kwaku Mbutabe from the Washington Redhawks for the Nightmare's first and second round picks in next years draft. Kwaku, younger cousin to retired running back Kwazi Mbutabe brings a feared running game to the defensive orientated team that looks to unseat the defending champions, the Miami Hammerheads," Chris said as the video shows Kwaku holding up his black and purple Nightmare jersey with the number #22 on it.
"And with that, I'm Chris Newman and this has been Blitz League News!" the host said with a big smile on his face as the screen faded to black.
Days Later
Kalvin is making his way down to Todd's office, having done as he asked and scouted out any more offensive players in case they couldn't get Joshua Fremont like they wanted. Once he walked in, he also saw Centurions head coach Tyrone Marcus in there as well, likely talking about their recent acquisitions of Nick Wexler and J.R. Matthews. Tyrone was a tall African-American man in his mid-sixties with graying black hair and hardened brown eyes. He is wearing a polo shirt with a small Centurions logo on the right breast, dress pants and shoes. Both men stopped talking when Kalvin entered the room, Kalvin is holding to folders with info on his scouting.
"Ah, Kalving, come in," Todd said to him, "You got those reports I asked."
"Yes I do," He answered back.
He walked over and handed both folders to his GM, who opened them up. The first is of a tall African-American man with short black hair and brown eyes, he wore the jersey of the Tennessee Volunteers with the number #80 on it. The other is of an athletically built white man with blond hair and brown eyes wearing the jersey of the Minnesota Golden Gophers with the number #23 on it. Coach Marcus went behind the desk of Adamson to get a good look at the players.
"First man is Antwan Green of the Volunteers, versatile guy, can catch and block but he's been hurt a few time in his collage career, so that effected his standing in the draft. Could be worth perusing if Fremont gets picked before we can get him. The next man is Frank Kinison of the Golden Gophers, he's been compared to Tony Forbes of the Minnesota Reapers in terms of skill but is said to have a bit of an attitude problem, thinks he is the best there is despite playing for a team that hasn't been in a bowl game in a while," Kalvin explained.
Both Todd and Tyrone continued to read on for a while before Todd looked up at Tyrone.
"What do you think?"
"I'll be honest, both look good. With Green, we have a guy that could block and catch, it's just a matter of him staying healthy. If Kinison is as good as Forbes was, then we have a great alternative to Wexler and the receiving corps, his attitude may be a problem but I've dealt with guys like him before, they usually get sorted out real quick by veterans," Tyrone stated.
Todd closed the folders and handed them back Kalvin.
"Thanks for the info Kalvin, we'll see what happens once we get a chance to interview them."

Third chapter in the bag, decided to put some news segments in there to show you guys what going on in the League within my story.
Something I want to mention is that the two international teams(Mexico City and Vancouver) have been moved back into the states because for Mexico City, soccer is more popular than American Football is and in Canada, there is laws in place that prevents team to be formed their as long as the CFL still exists. I already stated in the first chapter that the Aztecs had to shut down because they got caught with connections to Mexican Drug Cartels. For the Vancouver Beavers, they'll be a reason for it explained in the story later down the line. For now, the Aztecs have become the Tampa Bay Privateers and the Beavers have become the San Francisco Samurai. Also, the team Kid Franchise played for in this version of the League is called the Pittsburgh Predators.
Decided to give the Centurions the third pick in the draft, don't want to make them come off as getting everything they want.
Tyrone Marcus is visually based on actor Keith David.
Next up, we see Todd the GM interview the draft choices they scouted out!
