Centurions War Room, Draft Night
Angela Wagner, GM Todd Adamson and Head Coach Tyrone Marcus are in there room that was provided them for the draft. All of them were a little nervous but did not show it to each other. They were hoping that their intended first round pick, Toro Torres was not picked by either the New Orleans Zombies with pick one or the Utah Raptors with the second pick. However, rumors abound that both teams had their drafts picks already figured out and signs pointed at other players but that could change anytime.
"Alright gentlemen, any last thoughts before the draft begins?" Angela asked.
"We shouldn't have to worry, I think Toro will be coming to the Centurions tonight," Tyrone answered.
"If somehow he does go before that, Josh Fremont will be our choice," Todd answered afterwards.
"Thank you for your thoughts gentlemen, it looks like the draft is about to start," Angela said as she looked at the screen, seeing Kristina Cruz-Williams take the stage.
Draft Stage
"Welcome Blitz Leauge fans to this years Draft! On behalf of of the League, Commissioner Eckhart and the teams of the Blitz Leauge, I announce the opening of this years draft!" Kristina said as the fans cheered and applauded.
Kristina walked off stage to wait for the ten minutes that each team was given to decided their choice. After eight minutes, she was given a note that gave her the first team's choice. She soon walks back out to the cheers of the crowd, knowing the choice had been made. Behind her, the screen showed the New Orleans Zombies logo to show the crowd who was picking. Soon Kristina took her position at the podium, ready to announce the pick.
"With the first pick of this years Blitz League Draft, the New Orleans Zombies select...Gaston Delacroix Jr, Quarterback, Louisiana State University," Kristina said with a big smile on her face.
After a minute, a tall, blonde white man walks out, pumping his hand in the air before turning to Kristina and shaking her hand before he was given the green and black jersey of the Zombies with the number #1 on it and holding it up to the roaring crowd.
Centurions War Room
"Well that was to be expected," Tyrone said with a chuckle.
Angela and Todd knew what he meant. The owner of the Zombies, a loud mouth son of an oil tycoon what openly bragged to the media that he was going to draft Delacroix in the first round, to keep "Louisiana's favorite son," with the state. It didn't matter to Angela or the Centurions staff in the slightest. They were worried about Toro Torres getting drafted next. The Centurions weren't the only ones interested in him, they knew he also worked out for the Utah Raptors as well. Meaning they might be looking to strengthen their defense as well.
There answers would be answered in a few minutes, as Kristina walked to the podium, the red and orange logo of the Raptors showing up on the big screen behind her.
Draft Stage
"With the second overall pick, the Utah Raptors select...Adam Harrision, Running Back, University of Southern California," Kristina announced with a smile.
After a minute, an athletically built African-American man with short black hair comes up on stage with a big smile on his face and shakes Kristina hands. He is soon given a Raptors uniform to hold up, which he does to the cheers of the crowd.
Centurions War Room
The three of the Centurions staff breathed a sigh of relief at the pick. With that worry out of the way, they could draft their intended man. Angela looked over at Todd with a confidant smile on her face.
"Make the call," She said to him.
"On it, Boss," Todd answered her back.
Todd had Toro's number on speed dial and hit the number on the screen. He put the phone to his year and waited, after the third ring, the other side picked up.
"Hola?" Toro said.
"Hey there kid, it's Todd Adamson of the Columbus Centurions, how would you like to play for the Crimson and Gold?"
"It would be an honor, jefe!"
"Thank you Toro, it will be a pleasure to work with you!"
After saying their goodbyes, Todd hung up and looked over at Angela and nodded curtly at her. This made the Centurions owner pick up the phone that was designated for draft picks and dialed the number tell the League officials of their choice. After a few minutes, Kristina walks back to her position at the podium, the Centurions Crimson and Gold logo pops up on the screen.
Draft Stage
"With the third overall pick, the Columbus Centurions select...Toro Torres, Linebacker, University of New Mexico!" Kristina said with a smile.
After a minute, the stocky Mexican American man came out waving at the crowd and then shaking Kristina hand. He was given the Centurions uniform and he held it up for the crowd to see, smiling with pride.
Centurions War Room
"Congratulations gentlemen, lets hope our luck holds out for the rest of the draft," Angela said to her GM and Head Coach.
"Hears hoping, you never know what will happen," Tyrone said, "There is always those surprise picks where some team picks up a guy way ahead of his projected spot in the draft."
"Well we got back ups if that happens" Todd said with a grin.
After that exchange, the three would watch Kristina Cruz-Williams continue her role of announcing picks in the draft for the rest of the night.

Slight smaller chapter for this one in terms of the story but there it is.
I wanted to ramp up the tension with the possibility of Toro getting drafted by either the Zombies or the Raptors, thus showing the first two picks but I always wanted Toro to be a Centurion.
Next up is the summer practices leading up opening day, which next chapter will reveal the first game for the Centurions, the offensive and defensive coordinators and the wife of one of the veterans.
