There's a Dark Mark in the sky!
There's a big green sparkly Dark Mark in the sky!
When you're young and shrewd
And you're with the Dark
And you do his work
And you make his Mark
And you look up high
And you see the sparks
You know how wrong you are.
When you're young and shrewd
And you're outlook's stark
You know that it's
Not just a lark,
You're at the Hog's Head
And suddenly—hark!
You hear, you see,
You report the prophecy.
You're killing those for whom you love and care
And it's unfair
But suddenly there's
The great, tall, kind wizard Dumbledore.
A great, tall, kind, bearded wizard
And he opens the door.
He gives you a job
And his trust
And he shows you all
That is good and just,
And you know things now
that you never knew before,
Not till the sky.
Many years pass
And the Dark Lord's back,
And Dumbledore tells you to kill him
If the Death Eaters attack
To save Malfoy
And guard his back
'Cause you're the one he trusts
But Dumbledore's
One of those you love
And you don't want to kill him
And see the Mark above
And it's then that you miss
Your schoolboy days
When your only problem
Was dealing with James-
It's here! The night!
The green flash is bright!
You run through
The Hogwarts grounds
As the night ends
You know you've found
The cloaks, the masks, and the mark that you abhor.
The cloaks, the masks, and the world you abandoned once before.
And you think of the wonderful man you killed,
And you wish that his plans hadn't been fulfilled.
And you're back with Tom,
Only different than before,
After the sky.
There's a Dark Mark in the sky!
There's a big, green, sparkly, deathly, awful, terrible Dark Mark
In the sky!
