Sarah felt herself begin to awaken, hearing shuffling around her, and voices that sounded far away. The more she continued to wake, the closer the voices came. Soon she realized who was in the room, and they were shouting. "Quiet." Sarah tried to say. She found either no one could hear her or they weren't paying attention. "It hurts. Please stop shouting."

The arguing did not stop, and Sarah was getting fed up really fast. She felt a pull, and couldn't fight off the darkness. As soon as the darkness cleared, she was in the center of the Labyrinth. A bright ball of light summoned her, and she felt the pull even stronger. She heard a voice speak to her. " Don't be frightened. I am the Labyrinth. You have a long road ahead of you. Remember, not everything is at it seems. Accept your place, Sarah Williams. Accept me and your place, and you will have power beyond your dreams" Sarah struggled to take a step back. "I don't want power, even though this place is a part of me. I need to save it's king, and make sure the unseelie queen will never hurt my friends or family again. Now, let me go!"

The voice laughed, "Well said, Champion of the Labyrinth. Now, let's complete this, so you can become the champion of the underground." The ball of light went through her and the next thing she knew she was looking into the eyes of Cara. "Majesty! Queen Sarah! Stop fighting!" Sarah fought off her attacker blindly. She heard her name, and once she knew who called her she began to calm down. She stopped fighting Cara, and looked around to all who were in the room.

"Call the Queen." Puck ordered, as he ran up to Sarah's side. He bowed quickly, grabbing her hand kissing her wrist in his usual manner. His eyes never left Sarah's, even when he heard a deep uncomfortable cough. "You saved me, my queen." Sarah could feel herself blush, but pushed though by giving the a simple response. "You put yourself in harm's way fulfilling your duty. Once we get the Goblin King, we shall have a celebration in your honor."

Stephen coughed a little louder, only Sarah turned to look at him. Stephen took a few steps towards her, unsure of what to do. He hesitated at first, then went closer to her. Sarah took her hand away from Puck, who refused to take a step back. "Sarah, are you okay?" She sat up in the bed, sitting a little straighter. Tatiana stormed in, sitting at Sarah's side. "I see you are up and well,"she said after her quick assessment. "I seem to have miscalculated, you are not use to such power so quickly. Not to worry, you will do better next time."

Sarah nodded as Stephen began to rant about there not being a next time. Queen Tatiana stood rapidly. "Know your place mortal!" Sarah caught the change of color that flashed through Tatiana's eyes, shestood up too quickly, but held her place. After realizing the Queen's finger tips were still black she went into panic mode. "Queen Tatiana, you may ruler of the underground, but you will not harm Stephen nor anyone under my care." Sarah walked past Puck and a few other servants. On instinct, already formed a crystal ball in her hand. She went to Stephen allowing him to put his arms around her. "Close your eyes and hold on." He nodded in return. She concentrated on the ball and her destination. As she felt a familiar pull, she gave into it, but not before she heard Puck scream her name and Tatiana scream in rage.

Sarah landed in the throne room of the goblins kingdom. Goblins were running around in panic mode, but stopped once they seen Sarah. "Queenie!" Many of the goblins cheered. "Uh-oh! Kingie not going to like his placemats." Said another. "What's a placemats?" A furry toothless goblin stage talked. "A placemats is like if I place you with something else. Like when Griselda makes grub and only uses turnips but I'd don't like turnips. I's likes cabbage. Makes me gassier. So I placemats the turnips with onions cause we gotts no cabbage and onions does the trick like cabbage." The listening goblins just nodded. " So kingie getting placemats with onions?"

Sarah had to get them in order and quickly. "Quiet! Before I bog the lot of you!" Sarah yelled. "King Jareth has been captured by the evil queen. Sir Didymus is with them, Hoggle and Ludo are also not here. Queen Tatiana is wasting time, I fear she has also been spelled by the dark queen. I believe they have a spy. Jareth is depending on us." One of the goblins, Twindle, came up to Sarah. "We heard things from the goblins that works at the big castle. Talk. Meanie Queen taking over. Talk about taking minds. They scared. Says kingie dead. Others say no."

Sarah rubbed her temples and sighed. She let go of Stephen, and walked to Jareth's...throne? Chair? She sat down, imitating Jareth perfectly. She seen a riding crop laying harmlessly on the floor. She stooped down and picked it up. She was the perfect imitation of Jareth, she even changed her clothes with a few motions of her hands. Stephen took a hint, and at next to her waiting.

"Twindle, I need you to explain. How long has the mean queen took over?" Twindle took a few steps forward. "Before the dwarf left. Ruffus works at castle. Ruffus tells Twindle mean queen wanted to see the champion. Wanted to see yous powers and control. Says yous got the power of the babe." Sarah didn't know what to make of that yet. "So why did she send Hoggle away?" No one answered. "She didn't seem to like me here either. Maybe she wanted you alone." Stephen finally said. Everyone looked at Stephen. "Hoggle was set up. He's in danger!" Sarah shot up quickly, not knowing what to do, but a plan was forming. "The Wiseman! Bring him here! And all the fairies you can find. Tell them I request an audience with their queen. Twindle! Tell the Blue Worm and his wife it's tea time. I want every goblin, dwarf, worm...every creature that is able and willing. We are going to war!"

It took an hour to get the Wiseman to the castle. The Blue Worm and the Mrs. took a little longer. The junk ladies were easily convinced to leave their posts, they were never allowed to leave. Never in all the underground history had there ever been a reunion like this. "Hola! SeƱorita! Woo-Woo!!!" The bird/hat saluted Sarah. "Would you be quiet!" The Wiseman yelled. "Ah! I see you've finally found your way." He said to Sarah. "Not really, but here we are. I need your help." The Wiseman nodded.

He shuffled to Sarah, ignoring Stephen. "The Underground is in danger, and we need your help. I need you, all of you, please help." The Wiseman smiled. "Why didn't you say that in the first place?" Everyone nodded in agreement. "Should you need us..." They all began to say, stepping forward to the challenge.

"I need to find out the state of Lucious' kingdom. If the high king and queen have been compromised, chances his is as well." The fairy queen flew to Sarah. "I'm not apologizing for biting you on your...run." Sarah was shocked, but stayed composed. "We are small of stature, but there are many of us. We are resilient, there's a reason that bulbous nosed gardener can't get rid of us. Let me worry about this, I will send word once we know."

The junk ladies came forward next. "Well, even though you didn't want your things, dearie, you are the boss now." Sarah nodded. "The Labyrinth is a huge place, the Underground bigger still. Everything that is thrown out, or long forgotten always ends up with us." The junk lady's hands never stayed still, and neither did her shifty eyes. Sarah never trusted them. She almost had gotten lost with her own junk. She shivered remembering. "The Labyrinth walls are strong, but we need a second line of defense. Will you help." The hunched old lady smiled, and cackled as the other junk ladies joined her. Even the Wiseman shivered. "Come on girls!"

The Blue Worm and his equally Blue Mrs. were in the hands of a rather large goblin with horns on his helmet. "Allo!" Sarah said. "Did she say hello?" The Mrs. asked. "No, dear. She said Allo."

Group by group task were assigned or taken up. By nightfall, Sarah had enough information to form a plan to get back what was stolen. The fairy queen, her sharp teeth finally being put to good use, was very efficient. With any luck, they would be able save Sir Didymus, Hoggle Ludo, and of course Jareth. Can't just leave him there. She wasn't that cruel.

The goblins surrounded Sarah, trying to give her some of their sage advice. She felt a headache coming on. Tap! Tap! Tap! Could be heard from her, well Jareth's crop. "Snarl! Take a small group of goblins above, bring me these things. As much as you can." Sarah handed them a few paper with drawings on it. "And this paper shows what I want you to do with them." The goblins laughed with glee. "Anything you says toots!" Snarl disappeared in a puff of smoke. Literal smoke, he was always catching on fire for some strange reason.

Sarah had the whole Labyrinth on lockdown. Guards were on high alert as was everyone else in the Labyrinth. Sarah had dinner in a guest room with Stephen. It was a simple dish that she prepared in the kitchen. She served him goblin ale in a goblet, a very small amount. He looked at it oddly before taking a sniff. "It's goblin ale." She took a sip of her goblet. "I only served you a little, it's very strong." He nodded and took a sip. His reaction was what she expected, it was the same one she gave Hoggle. "Reminds me of moonshine, but with a bigger kick."

Sarah laughed, the first laugh since arriving Underground again. Stephen was still wary, his reactions all day would make one believe he was bi-polar. He would laugh at the goblins one minute, then fear for his life when the deadlier creatures of the Labyrinth came forward pledging their loyalty to Sarah. She was just happy he did not cry, and when his fury showed she had to direct his attention to something else. This was the first time they had alone since Hoggle found them.

"This place, this world is magical. I still feel like I am dreaming. It's hard to believe that you gave all this up. No offense, but Toby is a bit of a pain." Sarah nodded her head in agreement. "He isn't always the easiest to be around. He always has to be heard, he is so loud sometimes, and other times he gets so quiet that I am afraid it's an effect of being wished away."Both remaines silent for several moments before Stephen spoke. "l know you have a lot on your plate, and the last thing you need is little old me showing my insecurities.

I feel like you should have told me there was someone else. More than one someone, in fact. All I asked was that you gave me a fair shot and be up front. You're married for crying out loud, and didn't think to tell me." His blank stoic face did not match the sound of his broken and hurt voice. His eyes were tearing up, but not a single drop fell.

She remained quiet, trying to form her words. "I know there is no way that you could have told me everything, but some key points would have been great. Like hey Stephen, I am kind of attached to someone. It's complicated. But no. You made me think that I actually had a chance. That you actually cared." Sarah felt her own tears begin to form.

"Life can't be easy it's not always well. I was very young when I ran the Labyrinth, and didn't asked to be queen. Remember the story, think about what you just said. I refused him, and rejected my dreams for a different life. Sure, I was tempted. He made it very hard for me during my run. Everything he did, he did for me, a spoiled brat who felt unloved, alone, and forgotten. This is what this place is, you know, down in the underground. It's a land serene, a crystal moon, and here amongst the creatures I have found someone true. They are the lost and the lonely. I didn't understand that until earlier, but that's the way it is." Her tears fell quietly.

"My feelings for you are real, Stephen. We have not seen each other face to face until recently. Our so called marriage was never even consummated. I need you to understand this." Stephen scoffed, mocking her in his own way out of disbelief. "What about lover boy, the one you healed." Sarah didn't know if she should laugh or be angry.

"That is Puk. And he is a big flirt, I think it's just harmless flirting. Or he is being used by the dark queen." She sighed before she spoke again. "Remember my 'vacation'? Remember I asked you not to question me about where I was? Well, I was here fighting a war. My subjects needed me in more than name only. Look, I understand if this is too much for you. At times it's too much for me, but I assure you that there isn't anything romantic going on between me and the goblin King."

They finished dinner quietly, no more was said. When their meal was finished, Sarah cleared the table using magic. She refused to look at Stephen, refused to see if he had any fear in his eyes. She felt a freak enough as it was without her normal glamour. "I can't send you back right now. It's just too dangerous, you must realize this by now." Sarah felt his eyes burrowing a hole through her. After taking a deep breath, she finally looked up, not directly at him, but around him. "Once the goblin King is safe, you can be returned back above without any knowledge of this place or of me. I can have him make it so we never meet. Good night. Don't leave the room for any reason." With that she left via crystal, not bothering to see the shock look upon his face. Nor did Sarah Williams see the tears finally falling down his face.

Poor Stephen. And Poor Sarah. It's all a mess, hearts being broken is a terrible wonderful thing. Let's see if we can break more, shall we? I hope you enjoyed! Read and leave a review. The goblins won't take you if you don't.
