"Okay, we're rolling in five, four, three, two-"
"We don't need the countdown for this Fredward, just film it already!" Sam called over to Freddie rudely as per usual. "This is take one, test one." she continued to the camera as she concentrated the red flame into her palm, shooting a fireball straight through the bale and setting it ablaze.
"Mama's getting good at this!" Sam giggled.
The iCarly gang used Socko's chicken farm as a place to practice their fire training, telling whoever asked that they needed to use the land as a project for their environmental science class, which wasn't necessarily a lie. They were getting stronger the more they used their powers as the weeks went by.
"Okay, well, you guys are more of the fireball style, that's cool. I'm more of a walking flamethrower!" Freddie stepped forward to fully ignite the bale of hay in his green colored fire.
"Ok, Fredward, not bad." Sam smirked.
"Impressive. Nice one, Freddie." Carly added, putting a hand on Freddie's shoulder. "But you guys might wanna stand back for this..."
"Let's see what ya got, amigo." Sam hollered as she took a few steps back.
"Good luck!"
Carly closed her eyes and held the blue pyre as it glowed in her palms. She turned to the hay target and just for a moment before extending her hand to release, Freddie could've sworn he saw what appeared to be static electricity spark around her flames. Carly sent the fireball towards the bale at about fifty miles an hour and once it made impact with the bale, it exploded, sending pieces of hay down upon them.
"You...might've overdid it." Freddie spoke first, stunned and amazed at what he just witnessed.
A WEEK LATER
Carly heard a knock at her door and opened it. There stood Freddie, holding a box.
"Hey you two, I have a surprise. Check this out." he said, placing the box on the table in the living room. Inside were three leather jumpsuits with motorcycle helmets, each of them green, red and blue in color. On top of them were devices, some were small headphone radios and something else.
"Freddie, what are these?" Carly asked, lifting up the tech and examining it, Sam doing the same.
"I engineered this a week ago. It's an internal combustion and rocket utility system. I call it the i.C.A.R.U.S. It's powered by hydrogen cell canisters I got from the science lab. If it works, we can use it to fly." he told.
"You made this? It's incredible." Carly spoke.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's test them out!" Sam exclaimed.
The trio made their way back to Socko's chicken farm to use the i.C.A.R.U.S. Freddie was the first to use the device so he set up the camera in the distance.
"Okay, this is take one, test one of the i.C.A.R.U.S...in five, four, three, two..." Freddie activated the machine and flew up about ten feet in the air, doing a backflip into a pile of hay.
"Freddie just got leveled!" Sam guffawed heartily.
"Oh my God, are you okay?" Carly ran over to help him up.
Now it was Sam's turn.
"Hey, I think I'm getting it! Carly, come on up, the weather's great!" Sam called out.
Carly started to slowly ascend, finally making it to Sam's height in the air as they cried out in joy.
"Okay, that's it, I'm coming up there with y'all!"
After much practice, the three of them found each other soaring through the skies of Seattle.
"This is freaking awesome!" Sam shouted over the radio.
"Yeah! Woohoo!" Carly hollered.
"You guys this is amazing and I'm having a really good time, but I think we should head back. I don't want anyone to see us up here." Freddie relayed to them on the comms.
"Hey Freddie, what's the record for the highest up a human's ever gone?" Sam boosted her flame and started flying higher and higher into the sky.
"Sam, wait!"
"Sam, listen to Freddie! It's dangerous!"
Sam just laughed and continued upward until it started to get darker and colder.
"It's chilly up here, I feel...kinda drowsy..." Sam was beginning to pass out from the upper atmosphere, soon her flames flickered and stopped, as she plummeted back down to earth.
"Sam!" Carly cried out as she made her fire like a jet stream and sped towards Sam, breaking the sound barrier as she got close. She was able to catch her as Freddie approached the two, helping to grab Sam as they made their way down to a field, barely landing without crashing. Sam regained consciousness and looked around frantically.
"Oh my God, Carly! You saved me? You're my hero dude, I love you!" Sam ran up and hugged Carly tightly, lifting her up off the ground. Freddie joined them in their embrace.
"I tried to tell ya Sam, you flew too close to the sun. Why do you think I named these what I did?" Freddie patted her on the back.
"Yeah, I mighta missed that mythology lesson. But hey, I can fly! We can fly!" she laughed again.
"Yup, you are not mistaken, we can fly!" Freddie replied with a chuckle.
"I believe I can flyyy..." Carly sang as she started to do a whimsical dance, Sam joining as well.
The three of them all danced like the goofs they were and celebrated their fun day.
