Walking into my old training grounds I found my stomach twisting at the sight of the two Uchiha standing facing each other with more glares rather than words. My presence seems to go unnoticed as I step up to them. Their gazes not even breaking to blink. Tilting my head I look between the two of them only now realizing that Itachi is only slightly taller than Sasuke anymore, and I'm... still short. "Guys?" I ask and to no avail, I got absolutely no response from either of them. It's like they're trapped in their own world. At this thought I found my eyes widening with the realization. Groaning to myself I shake my head before reaching out and grabbing one of their arms. Sasuke in my left hand and Itachi in my right. Closing my eyes I reach into myself pulling the chakra I desired. It didn't take long before the flashes of lightning flickers against my eyelids, only moments before they finally break out of their genjutsu with yelps and pulling away from the source of pain leaving my hands empty of their arms.
Opening my eyes I look between the two as Sasuke rubs the small electrical burn on his bare arm. Itachi however sighs as if it wasn't a problem, before looking away from his brother to me. "So, Itachi, you inform me to meet you here so I can watch you two battle it out with genjutsu?" I ask plainly as I push my emotions aside. The lingering guilt that they are only like this right now because of me. "No." He says as Sasuke glares at him before his dark eyes move to me. Complete and utter frustration lingering in his gaze. "Lady Hokage informed me this morning to tell the both of you, we are forming a squad. Unless certain missions require it we should expect to be working together."
"Some start to that." I mutter causing both of them to look at me again. Sighing I close my eyes. "Seriously, when I suggested this to Kakashi I didn't think you two would fight like this. At this rate, our teamwork won't work." Shaking my head I fight to keep my hand at my side instead of moving it to my temples like usual. "You? Kira, this was your idea?" Sasuke asks almost reluctantly, opening my eyes I look to him and give him a nod. "Our strengths and weaknesses will compliment each other. To be honest, if we can work together I have no doubt of everything we can accomplish. However, as I told Kakashi this would wind up being the most powerful team in the village and I doubted the Hokage would agree to it."
"You think that.." His voice trails off as he looks away from me with a grunt. "Whatever." He utters making me smile before I look to Itachi who didn't look happy at all. His eyes then move from Sasuke to me, a small smile showing briefly. "I see your point." He admits and I nearly found myself clapping happily. "Good cuz I told Kakashi you should be the team leader since out of all of our ranks yours is higher. Having been Anbu puts you up with Jonin, I'm still technically a chunin and Sasuke is still Genin. Even though our strengths severely outweigh our ranks it is what it is. Of course, if they took everything I said that means when Yamato flits into our squad for certain missions he will be the leader instead."
"I see, so you're thought was us being a secondary squad for Team Kakashi." Itachi mutters his thoughts and I nod to him. "With this set up it will give the Hokage freedom to play with the different members and better build a team for different missions. Also, it would give her the leverage she needs for the more difficult tasks." I couldn't help but giggle. His thought process really is similar to mine. "Now, we should work on strategies and training as a team. It's been a year since Itachi and I fought together and four years since I've been on a team with Sasuke. We should become accustomed to our fighting styles again." I speak up as I step forward. Taking Sasuke's hand in my left and Itachi's in my right. Looking from one to the other waiting for the high probability of Sasuke walking away with his temper.
"Hn, let's get this over with." He mutters as he slips from my hand. I can't help but think this just may work out. So long as I can keep their tempers with each other from clashing too much. His movements stiffen as Itachi comes around behind me and leans down, his breath hitting my ear before he even speaks. "You forgot yourself." He chuckles causing a sound of question to come from me. "You should be the leader of this team." I shake my head and step away from him. "Actually, you have more experience than I do. Besides, you know I like working in the background."
Time went on that day with the three of them running through different formations that either Itachi or Kira came up with. With each passing formation, Sasuke's anger was rising. Kira tried to explain that it was because they've spent three years together on a team with Kisame but he was having a difficult time accepting it. Even with the brief description either one of them gave they were able to move accordingly without hesitation. The more it went on Sasuke could see it himself. Kira's emotions slip from her the moment they enact a formation. Her voice and way of speaking perfectly matching Itachi's personality. Even with their way of fighting, it was like Itachi was only a male version of her.
By the time she left them in the training grounds saying there was something she had to do, Sasuke was shaking. "You did well today Sasuke." His brother speaks up from behind him. "Shut up." Sasuke hisses as Itachi unflinchingly moves up next to him. "I was the one who spent the most time training her during her time in the Akatsuki." He mutters even though his voice rings out with indifference. Taking more of that same tone Sasuke had heard during their confrontation when he was twelve. "It's only natural for her to match me." He speaks out before moving to leave Sasuke in the clearing. "Itachi." Sasuke hisses pinning his brother with a glare as Itachi stops and waits for Sasuke to continue without even looking at him. When Sasuke doesn't say anything Itachi sighs. "This isn't a battle between us. We both love her but it is her who must choose. We can fight as many times as you like but it won't change anything." Itachi turns to look back at his brother, Sasuke's eyes widening at the sight of the pain in Itachi's usually empty gaze. "She loves both of us and by forcing her to choose we are selfishly inflicting her pain. You saw it too. The pain in her gaze this entire day." With that Itachi leaves his brother as Sasuke's eyes move to the ground.
He had noticed it. The difference between how she was on their date and today. He just refused to think it was because him and Itachi not getting along. Did she know it was because of the fresh bite marks Itachi came home with? That they were fighting because Itachi shamelessly bares her marks as a way to throw it in Sasuke's face that she's his? With a huff, he pulls himself out of his thoughts and walks towards the edge of the training field. It may be her choice, but he won't make it easy on her. Even now he doesn't know where she lives. He doubts Itachi himself knows either but there were ways around that. "Kira, you are mine." Smirking to himself he vanishes from the training grounds. Moving through the village with one objective on his mind. To find Kira.
That night I was awoken from my sleep, hearing my bedroom window click shut. I open my eyes and prop myself up onto my elbows and look towards the sound. My window was still closed and my curtains were still blocking the moonlight keeping my room dark. "A dream?" I ask myself as I lay back down and sift the fingers of my right hand into my bangs with a sigh. I don't sleep well anyway, now I'm hearing things disturbing my sleep. It was then my bed contours to a new weight and before I could react a knee wedges itself between my legs and strong arms grab and pin my hands to my bed. "Wha..." I blink as the sight of dark Onyx eyes finally sink into my brain. "Sasuke?" I ask seeing his signature smirk from my question. "But how did.." My words were cut off by his lips capturing mine officially silencing me.
His hand releases one of mine and trails down my side. His wish unmasked without hesitation. My heart races against his chest, his weight shifting pushing me further into my bed. I find myself catching his hand in mine as he finds the hem of my tank top. Entwining my fingers with his as I guide his hand back to my bed next to my head. I could feel him smirk against my lips before he raises up to stare down at me. His dark gaze hazed over with pure desire was enough to make me squirm beneath him. "Kira." He speaks for the first time since he trespassed into my room. "You are mine." He informs me steadily as if there was no room for debate or question. This entire predicament leaving me with a sense of Deja Vu, as if I have already lived this moment before. As if to further solidify my thoughts I was no longer peering into Sasuke's dark onyx hues. They had changed in my mind. They became a hazel brown shrouded by the darkness he had sank himself into. A darkness his previous innocent light couldn't breakthrough. I found myself gasping at the sight my mind had conjured up and found Sasuke taking my lips again. This time nipping my bottom lip causing me to squirm beneath him before fully kissing me.
- "What I am saying is, being afraid of it is only natural especially after having lost someone as you have."- I heard Itachi's voice in my head. Afraid is an understatement. I thought to myself as I find Sasuke's grip on my hands loosening. Slipping them from under him I find myself sifting my fingers into his hair. It's taken me this long to understand why Sasuke always confused me. And why I lost myself when he had finally kissed me. They are the same but different. Sasuke... will you heal this deadened heart, or will you shatter it to pieces? Am I really ready for this? Pushing those thoughts out of my mind I focus more on the boy in my house, and on my bed. Trailing my right hand from his hair, brushing my thumb along his jawline before letting it skim over his clothes between us. Once my fingers find the hem of his shirt I slip my hand under the clothing and touch his stomach, hardened from years of training into abs. He shivers at my touch as he nips at my bottom lip again. His own hand finding the hem of my shirt for a second time, this time without being stopped. With his simple touch against my skin, I couldn't think about if this was wrong or not. If it was wrong that he makes me think about Light with their similarities or if it was wrong because deep down, I still love all three of them. When his hand brushes against more of my skin traveling further up my torso, all remaining thoughts wash from my mind being overtaken by the building warmth pooling inside of me.
On a rooftop not too far from them Kakashi sighs with a shake of his head. He had seen Sasuke slip into her room leaving the curtains over the window so no one would see what he had planned. A part of Kakashi was waiting to see Sasuke be sent out of her room but after so long he could only guess as to what was happening within. "They're probably talking." He tells himself though refusing to look in the direction of her room. If he did his Sharingan would only pick up on their auras, demolishing the privacy they believe they have. "You know what's happening." His empty tone comes up beside him making him sigh. Of course, the eldest Uchiha brother would be lurking around right now. "Sasuke is determined to make her his." Itachi sighs as he too sets down.
"It is her choice." Kakashi mutters even though with Itachi speaking his fear aloud he wanted nothing more than to break them apart. Whatever it is they are doing. "Indeed." Itachi responds shortly before both of them fall silent. Neither one of them is willing to move or even use their abilities to put their minds at ease. They just set in silence in the moonlight shadowed by the very truth neither one of them wanted to admit. The end of their date replaying in Kakashi's mind.
-Sasuke pulls her close after all but saying he loves her causing a pit of pain to burn inside of Kakashi. "You told Itachi earlier that you are having a hard time with three people suddenly confessing their love for you." Sasuke's voice was low almost inaudible at Kakashi's distance. "I will wait for you to decide. Don't think that means I'll give you up without a fight. I will hold you and kiss you as many times as I like so you don't forget me in your decision, just so you are warned." With these words, Sasuke's voice rose to a more normal volume as if he was purposefully saying them loud enough for him to hear. His warning, not just meant for Kira herself. It was a warning he was issuing to the ones he knew had been spying on them. As Sasuke walked away Kakashi's jealousy dulled down to a low roar seeing him go without actually trying anything. "Emo boy, can't you see? That just makes it harder." Her quiet pain-filled voice drew his gaze from the steps with her sigh. They were in fact hurting her. Kakashi knew it even before now. He watched as she bowed her head dwelling on something he figured he knew for certain what it was. Them.
"Sasuke.." She suddenly gasped opening her eyes and looking back ahead of her a moment before she practically ran to the top of the steps. Almost as if she nearly ran to catch him. Kakashi's heart ached at witnessing her action but what fully put him into turmoil was the sudden glistening of a tear rolling down her cheek. "I can see it now. He's so much like you, Light." Her sad smile as she turns facing the direction he was lingering in. The moonlight reflecting off of her eyes that were still glistening with unshed tears. It took a few moments before she looked away from the moon as if she had been caught up in her own thoughts. "Can't be, he's Emo boy after all. Not you."-
Kakashi knew that Itachi had heard those words as well. They both had witnessed the painful realization even if she herself denied it. Maybe she is yours after all. Kakashi thought to himself even though he knew that wasn't exactly it. He may not know Light, but he knew enough to catch her meaning that night. Sasuke and Light have the same traits. Sasuke reminds her of the one she had lived for and lost. Where does that leave them? Kakashi silently asks as he closes his eye. To watch and wait. Will the memory of that man bring up too many painful thoughts or will it cause her to embrace Sasuke more fully. Either way, there was nothing he could do but painfully watch things play out. "Kakashi." Itachi's low voice breaks through the silence. "Has she ever told you, about Light?"
"Yeah.." Kakashi sighs in response. "There is something only she can do." Itachi suddenly brings up drawing Kakashi's attention to the man on the same roof as him. "In training, I was teaching her about Genjutsu and how to dispel it more efficiently. There was an accident and to this day she has no knowledge of what she had done." Itachi's voice quiets with every word he speaks as he remembers the day in question. "Much like how she described the reaction of her chakra against Sasuke even though they had done the same jutsu when they were twelve. Her inner power shifted the genjutsu rather than dispelling it."
"Shifted it? How?" Kakashi asks the Uchiha. "Instead of my battle-style genjutsu, I had caught her in. I was thrown into her memories. Even though it left her unconscious the jutsu wouldn't end." Itachi looks down towards the streets reliving those moments brought back the initial pain he had felt. "Her memories? And you couldn't dispel the jutsu?" Kakashi breathes in disbelief before he too looks down. "Yes, I got to see this other world with my own eyes. This Light through her eyes." The pain in Itachi's voice was understandable to Kakashi. He exhales a heavy breath as he knows how seeing such things would make him feel. Knowing what happened in the other world and actually seeing it would be two different things. "That would be hell." Kakashi comments and Itachi nods. "She loved Light so completely that she willingly gave up her freedom for him. A love I had thought maybe I could see for myself." He admits quietly causing Kakashi to grunt in understanding. He couldn't say anything, he wanted to taste the love she is capable of as well.
"I still won't give up on her." Itachi voices as he stands up. "At this point, there is no telling if she loves my little brother or the man he reminds her of. It still changes nothing, I will make her mine." He states more to himself rather than Kakashi before he disappears with a sudden breeze. Leaving Kakashi on the roof thinking about his own choice to make. Uchiha are headstrong they don't give up easily. Him, however, he weighs his options. He loves Kira and wants her to be solely his. But he also knows that she won't see past her love for that man until she realizes she can't simply replace him. It will be painful but what part of his life hasn't been. His only option... is to wait for her to come to the realization on her own. He doesn't know when she will. Could be tonight, tomorrow, in a week, or even a lifetime down the road. He will stand by and watch her live the life she chooses and wait. With his inevitable decision however it spurred forward the question. How can he love someone as deeply as he does Kira and still choose to stand by, waiting for her to live her life until she realizes she should be with him? If his emotions are so deeply rooted in his existence why can't he leap in and break those two apart? Is he like Kira? Something is driving him to her but yet keeping him away from her? Even when he was laying claim to her body, his mind still broke through his desire. Questioning his actions. Why?
