A sudden thundering crash echoes over the area as I watch smoke billow from the small village. Followed by three people shooting into the trees to the east of the village. Tilting my head I close my eyes focusing more on those three. Every movement of their clothes, the sway of their hair, the expression changes, their breaths. Even the energy coming from them. Itachi's ponytail flying rapidly behind him as he jumps onto a tree branch followed by Sasuke landing next to him. They glance at each other just as another one comes up on them. His shaggy hair swaying with his movements. His eyes narrowed upon them with a large smile plastered to his face. With the movement of his clothes, I could tell he was only wearing a t-shirt, not a sweater jacket. His hands hum with building energy as his body emits an extra source.

Opening my eyes wide my breath catches painfully in my chest. "That would have to be... Damen! And they led him away from the village because of the villagers and so I could feel them." Pushing off from the tree I let myself reach my top speed. Moving through the trees quickly enough my footsteps barely make a sound. My long ponytail blows around wildly behind me as I make chase in their direction. My veins begin to hum as if the fire inside me is roaring to life. I flip through the air as I draw closer to them. Dropping my shield I extend my energy out in one of my most powerful attacks. My energy leaves me in a shock wave crashing through trees and leaving my blue flames in its wake. The ground shudders beneath its force as I feel Itachi grab Sasuke and force them both away from the coming attack. Damen however stops and looks in my direction, just before my attack quakes the area blinding my energy blanket.

In a large bright blue explosion, I practically laugh as the trees around me crash into other trees, splintering and igniting them as well. Did I do that because I enjoyed it? A little. I know Damen is powerful, I wanted him off of Itachi and Sasuke's tail as quickly as possible. To do that, I figured I couldn't hold back. Leaping over the fallen and burning trees I continue my movements to locate where I had last felt Damen. A part of me wanted to be hopeful that I had killed him. An attack I know full well would kill the humans in this world. But the other part of me thought that was too hopeful. Landing amidst my flames I look around at the devastation my attack had caused. The weight of the energy I had used in this one attack threatening to drag down my shoulders. I know my limits. I can do this attack twice and then I'm depleted. That's why this attack is usually a last resort or dulled to be more localized and take less energy.

Jumping to my left as I feel a disturbance in my energy blanket I barely avoid the sudden flash of light crashing into the ground where I had just been standing. The light shatters the ground forcing me to leap onto the large debris of earth beginning to fall into the new crater. Jumping onto the solid earth again I watch the ground crumble in on itself in a cavern dark enough I couldn't even see the bottom. "Damn." A male voice hisses drawing my attention in his direction. Finding the brunette with his eyes lit aglow, a large bone-chilling grin on his face. Where my eyes are the color of blood swirling in their depths his is more of a bright red hue much like the Sharingan. "Damen." I let a low feral growl rumble through my chest as I brace myself ready to attack again. "What are you doing?" I ask trying to understand his purpose. "Oh, me? I was bored so I thought I'd have some fun in this world. Too bad you didn't die 11 years ago. It's truly disappointing." His voice flows cold with a lingering sinister tone that nearly made me shiver, and not in a good way.

Feeling his power prick against my energy blanket as if it were a static charge. I reach into myself and pull my energy from within me. Pushing it out around me and pulling it tight against my skin. With a smirk, I run forward causing his eyes to widen. I may not be able to attack at this exact moment but I can withdraw my energy in time to move my chakra into my fist. A purple electric stream shoots from his hand as he regains himself. Shooting it in my direction. The blinding light has me raising my arms in mid-jump across the pit trying to protect my eyes from the stinging light. The impact of the lightning charge hit against my shield at my chest. Proving that unlike most jutsu in this world, his light.. has substance like my energy blade only his is a projectile... Even with the protection of my shield, I could feel bones breaking from the force. Sending me backward through the air. Turning my head over my shoulder I gauge my trajectory before flipping in the air and forcing myself to land on the ground skidding backward and into a fallen tree.

Steadying my breathing I try to focus my mind away from my pain feeling through my energy blanket. Looking for Damen. I find Itachi and Sasuke just outside of my attack perimeter. Villagers staring in awe at what had just happened. But no other movement. Clicking my tongue I move out of my flames to go towards the two Uchiha. "He got away." I mutter to myself as I flip over my flames landing in an untouched area next to a river. Looking at the two Uchiha I frown trying not to touch my ribs. They were covered in ash and dust from the explosion in town. The sleeve of Sasuke's shirt had been torn off at some point. Other than looking ruffled they were fine. With that assessment, I nearly smile as they look at me. "Thanks for leaving the village so I could feel you." I speak up just before Sasuke takes a step forward. "Kira? was that..." Frowning a moment I look back at the scarred land as the energy within my flames begins to fade taking the fire with them. "That..." I speak. "Mostly."

"Hn. Well, I don't want to get on your bad side." Sasuke smirks and I find myself shaking my head with a light laugh. "Emo boy, you don't make me angry." At the use of the name Emo boy, his usual glare meets me. "Well Ice Queen, from that fire you aren't as cold as you seem." Smiling I reach up and pull my hair over my left shoulder. "We should withdraw for now." Itachi pipes up drawing our gazes to him. Giving him a nod we leap up into the untouched trees and move away from the area. Taking Sasuke's hand in mine I lace my fingers with his as we time our jumps from branch to branch behind Itachi. "So what did you guys do to get his attention?" I ask looking from Itachi's back to Sasuke. "Nothing. We walked into the shop and the guy just blew up the place. He was on us the moment we landed on the street." Sasuke mutters with that anger-laced tone of his. "He sensed you guys." I pipe up and look away from him. "He's like Aphrodite I assume. He's been trained since he could walk. I would venture a guess he knew you guys had been with me or at the very least could sense that you masked yourselves to come off like normal travelers. I'm not entirely sure how it works." I find myself explaining as Itachi leaps from the trees to the ground. Stopping our movement as he turns towards us.

"One thing is certain, we were spotted. Our mission is to track and observe them. They now know what we are doing." Itachi informs us and I shrug thinking about his words. "They could expect for us to turn tail. We could track them down again and get the information we need." Sasuke speaks up and I sigh. "Problem with that is we don't have a clue as to where they went." I add in and turn around to look in the direction we had come. "We did learn one thing." I sigh feeling their eyes on me. "Damen lied to my siblings. They are here under the belief that I was the one that locked away this dimension from our own to stay here without someone trying to come and get me. Basically, he's led them to believe I turned my back on my family completely. As to why... I'm still trying to figure that out."

Itachi stands there for a minute thinking before stepping past Sasuke to me. "We'll go back and see if there are any traces we can follow. If not, this mission is a failure and we return to the village." He informs us and I nod to him before jumping up into the trees and heading back to the village. Landing in the devastation that I had created, Itachi kneels as I reach out with my energy blanket feeling for anything at all, focusing more than I have ever had before. Sasuke ignites his Sharingan looking for chakra remnants. With his gasp, Itachi and I look towards him. When he doesn't say anything Itachi ignites his own Sharingan to see the trail that caught Sasuke's attention. "Let's move." Itachi states and Sasuke gives him a nod before they leap over the destruction leading away from the village towards the land of stone, all I could do was follow them.

Sharingan, a dojutsu that not only allows you to copy any ninjutsu, taijutsu, or genjutsu. It also lets you perceive your opponent's next move almost before they know themselves. A third ability is genjutsu, unlike normal genjutsu that nearly any ninja can learn the Sharingan is a more complete form and much more powerful. However what the Uchiha doesn't let everyone else know that in order to read another's movements as deeply as they do. They can see their opponent's aura and chakra though not as defined as the Byakugan of the Hyuga clan. Itachi had once described it as seeing their aura move in the way their opponent will move next. To see chakra remnants is one way the Sharingan is used in tracking as well. A power that is unique to the Uchiha and extremely dangerous. Well dangerous if your enemy is a Sharingan user.

I already knew what they were following so no explanation was necessary to me. They had spotted the remnants of energy only their eyes can see. So we were now following Damen's trail. Since Damen is kin and not a ninja it is likely he doesn't know how to hide his energy flow as we do. Otherwise, there would be no trail to follow. Pushing forward I jump onto Sasuke's back nearly sending him off the branch before he can catch himself. Wrapping my arms around his shoulders and my legs around his waist I find myself smiling and nuzzling my cheek into his back. Happy to finally be off my feet even though this was causing my ribs to scream painfully. "You don't get a choice." I mutter and nearly giggle hearing his chuckle reverberate in his back as his hands curl around my thighs to keep me in place. "You guys don't need me to track right now so I assume it's alright if I nap right?"

"You never change." Itachi speaks with a smirk drawing Sasuke's gaze to him. "On long missions, Kira would normally ride on either mine or Kisame's back." He elaborates for Sasuke realizing Sasuke's confusion. "Usually yours because Samehada would always end up getting me in the leg for being too close." I mutter my input. "That sword is a pain."

"Kira." Itachi suddenly speaks up after we had all fallen silent. Threatening to coax me into opening my eyes. "Can you sustain yourself until we are close enough to Damen that we do not need to follow his chakra trail?" Huh? Finally raising my head I look over Sasuke's shoulder towards him. With Itachi's words, Sasuke turns his head, his gaze falling upon me from the corner of his eye. "You were injured." He clarifies causing me to puff out my cheeks and lay my head back against Sasuke's shoulder blades. "You noticed." I mutter causing Sasuke to grunt in surprise. "I did."

"I'll be fine until we can stop. I am still in control." I inform him as I close my eyes again. I could feel Sasuke tense beneath me nearly causing me to frown. "Just let me rest for now." I mutter feeling Sasuke relax as he shivers from my lips moving against his back. My shield. When tucked against my body prevents energy from slipping through. However, I cannot block as much of the impacts as I can with my sphere. I may have left that small short-lived scuffle with a few broken ribs but at least my body isn't charred or ravaged by electricity. I may hate that I was injured but it could have been a lot worse.

They moved through the night, refusing to slow up even for a moment. Damen and my siblings were moving fast and if they had stopped at any point they would risk losing the trail. I could feel my throat growing tight and beginning to burn but I was fighting against my desire to lift my head and sink my fangs into my boyfriend's neck. If I did he would slow down and we couldn't afford that. Not to mention I could hurt him. Now, if I had chosen to ride on Itachi's back I would have bitten him. Not because I don't care if I hurt him but simply since I know he can handle it. There have been a few times in the past where I had to heal myself under these circumstances or risk losing myself to my blood lust. Of course, back then I was injured far worse than I am now.

By daybreak, they were running over the rocky terrain in the land of earth. As they ran up mountains I had to hold onto Sasuke tighter than I had wanted to just to keep myself from slipping causing my ribs to scream at me again. Only further reminding me that I have not been feeding like I should with my canteen missing and my scroll having been severely damaged in the rubble from Pein's attack on the village. If I would have fed it would have had to be solely from Itachi or Sasuke, and my ribs would have healed quickly after I had been hurt. After half a day more I finally found myself raising my head. Brushing my lips against Sasuke's ear before whispering. "Don't slow down or stumble." I warn him just as I pull his shirt collar from his neck. Briefly hesitating before hinging my fangs into his skin. His flinch did not go unnoticed by me or Itachi. I won't take much. I don't need much. I kept telling myself as I drink. Feeling my ribs mending and my energy returning. Don't hurt him. I tell myself again as I pull my fangs from him.
