Chapter 277: Beaulieu Manor
Monday, January 30th, Evening
The sun setting lit the grounds of Beaulieu Manor in that odd winter orange-purple color as she looked out of the window in the East Range. She kept her watch from the piano bench in the Music Room. Every so often, she would look down and absent-mindedly plucked at one or two random keys of the piano, making a disjoined weirdly timed song.
Trinity "Trin" Adams did take piano lessons once but never took to it. On a good day, she could maybe play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Trin didn't inherit any musical talent, and her love of music fell away over time and circumstance.
Another woman walking in and took a seat next to Trin. At a glance, one could tell they were sisters. The new woman is Representative Isabella "Izzy" Scott, nee Adams. Izzy put a hand on Trin's shoulder, and they looked into each other's eyes.
"Here you are; I've been looking for you," Izzy said.
"Just needed to get away, be alone, and think for a while," Trin said and poked at a couple of keys on the piano.
"I know that feeling," Izzy said.
"Where are the kids?" Trin asked.
"Last time I saw them, Wyatt, Nomi, and Ellis were in the media room playing some video game on that stupid big TV Mom has in there," Izzy said.
Trin nodded, "It's good for them," she said.
"Yes, it is," Izzy said, with a hint of a laugh. Trin poked a few more keys.
Izzy looked at Trin. "Trin, what's wrong?" she asked.
"Why do you think there's something wrong?" Trin asked.
"I don't think you've taken up improvisational free form jazz," Izzy said.
Trin shrugged and hit a few more keys. "I've been thinking, that's all," she said.
"Don't tell me that Brian is still living for free in your mind," Izzy said.
"He always will, because of Wyatt," Trin said and tapped a few keys, "But it's not what I'm thinking about."
"So, what has you thinking and playing improvisational free form jazz?" Izzy asked.
Trin shrugged again and tapped on a few more keys. "I was mulling over Ivy Kowalski," she said.
"What about Ivy? She seems to be a good enough person," Izzy said.
"What time I've spent with her; she is a nice young woman," Trin said, and before she could tap another key, Izzy grabbed her hand to stop her.
"Young woman? You're the same age as Kay," Izzy said.
"Ivy is a little bit younger than Kay, and neither of them has a child," Trin said.
"So, anyway, what's your worry about Ivy?" Izzy asked.
"She's dating a Scott," I'm not sure she knows what she's getting into.
Izzy shrugged, "And you said this wasn't about Brian," she said, "They seem to be pretty solid."
"That's in Chicago, not here, and not with the past," Trin said.
"Are you suggesting something?" Izzy asked.
"I'm not sure yet," Trin said.
"But it's got you bothered," Izzy said.
"That's just me and my past haunting me," Trin said.
"You need to get Brian an eviction notice," Izzy said, shrugged, "We're the sum of all our experiences."
"Maybe we should share the benefits of our experiences with her," Trin said.
"I don't know if we should interfere in Kay and Ivy's relationship," Izzy said.
Trin shook her head, "No, not interfere, just share our mixed experience with her about the Scott Family," Trin said.
Izzy canted her head, "What are you thinking? Dragging Ivy in front of Mom and Karen?" she asked.
"Yeah, why not?" Trin asked.
"For one, Mom had one of the most insane experiences with the Scotts, and well, Karen's experience is very afternoon tabloid talk show. You want to scare her away?" Izzy said.
"Why not? She should know what she's getting into," Trin said.
"What it sounds like what you want to do is an intervention," Izzy said.
"That's exactly what it is," Trin said.
Izzy grabbed hard onto Trin's wrists and locked her eyes onto Trin's. "I'd suggest not doing that; it's a bit extreme and could cause a lot more issues if she stays around," she said.
"What do you suggest?" Trin asked.
Izzy bounced her head from side to side for a moment. Trin could see Izzy thinking by the look in her eyes. "How about we just talk to her?" she asked.
"Talk to her how?" Trin asked.
"Just find a place, talk and have drinks, casual like and if stories come out they come out," Izzy said.
"That sounds like something Chase would suggest," Trin said.
Izzy shrugged and dropped Trin's wrists. "Hey, if it works, it works," she said.
"So, kind of like a support group?" Trin asked.
"Yeah, I guess you can say that," Izzy said.
"Yeah, of course, Scott's Anonymous, and I know who exactly to invite," Trin said.
"I thought it would be just the three of us," Izzy said.
"Oh, you're one of the ones I would invite," Trin said.
"Who else would you include in this fool's mission?" Izzy asked.
"Well, I was thinking you, me, Ashlyn, and possibly we do this at Rerun's," Trin said.
"Why at Rerun's Place?" Izzy asked.
"It's neutral, and it's a nice place," Trin said.
"And it has nothing to do with Rerun dating Candi?" Izzy asked.
"No, it's not TRIC, which is Scott Territory," Trin said.
"Right," Izzy said and looked over the piano to the orange-purple sky outside, "When do you want to do this?"
"Tonight," Trin said.
"I'm not sure we could get Ashlyn, you know the kids," Izzy said.
"We have a sister and sister-in-law," Trin said.
"Can you pull that off with Mom?" Izzy asked.
Trin nodded, "Leave it to me," she said.
"So, you get that settled, who will get Ashlyn?" Izzy asked.
"The way I figure it is you go get Ashlyn, with Sawyer and Keni, and I'll take care of getting Ivy there," Trin said.
"Are you sure you can pull this off?" Izzy asked skeptically.
"It's me," Trin said.
"That's what I'm afraid of, and I hope you're well-intentioned," Izzy said.
"That's why you're going to be there," Trin said.
Izzy shook her head, laughed, and started playing Beethoven's Bagatelle number 25 in A Minor on the piano. Trin shook her head.
"Show off, you always play better than me," Trin said, and Izzy just kept playing and laughed.
