Chapter 280: The Long Gallery

Monday, January 30th, Evening

Trin slowly walked down the Long Gallery to where Ivy and Candi stood. Candi smirked that famous Scott smirk at Trin. Trin looked up at Candi and gave her a nod. Finally, Trin to Ivy and smiled. Candi looked back out the window at the Guest Court.

"Hey Ivy," Trin said.

"Trin," Ivy said.

"So, what are you doing tonight?" Trin asked.

"I don't know, I was waiting for Kay to turn back up," Ivy said.

"She's lost," Candi piped in.

Trin smiled and laughed. "Why don't we go out and get drinks?" she asked.

"Why?" Ivy asked.

"Well, we're practically family," Trin said; in response, Candi chuckled.

"How so?" Ivy asked.

"I'm interested in seeing these mental gymnastics," Candi said.

Trin looked at Candi with a murder stare. Finally, Trin turned back to Ivy. "Ellie is practically my sister, Ellie is Kay's twin, and you're dating Kay, so, therefore, we're basically sisters-in-law," Trin said.

Ivy stood there and moved her hand, mentally trying to connect the dots. "I don't get it," she said.

"How about this? My sister is married to Kay's brother," Trin said.

Ivy looked over to Candi, who nodded yes. "Okay," she said.

"So, come on, let's get some drinks and talk," Trin said.

"I'll get Kay," Ivy said.

Trin canted her head, "Nah, just me and you," she said and turned to Candi, "You don't mind, Candi?"

"I'm good; I was going to head over to the gym and do some other things," Candi said.

"Well, I should bring Kay," Ivy said.

"Do you even know where Kay is?" Trin asked.

"Well, no, I don't," Ivy said.

Trin smiled, "Well, get your coat and let's have fun," she said.

Ivy sighed, "Sure, let's do this," she said.

"Let's go then," Trin said.

Ivy shrugged and followed Trin down the Long Galley into the East Range. Once they got to the Foyer, they dug for their coats. Trin pulled on her jacket and made sure she had her keys. Ivy slowly put on her jacket, taking her time.

"Come on, slowpoke," Trin said as she bundled up.

"I'm still not one hundred percent sure about this," Ivy said.

"Don't worry about it," Trin said, "It's just drinks and casual conversation."

"You sure? You're not into me?" Ivy asked.

Trin laughed, "Has Kay told you anything about me?" Trin asked as Ivy finished putting on her coat.

"That you're her sister-in-law and have a son," Ivy said.

"Who is also Kay's cousin," Trin said.

"What? Who?" Ivy asked.

"My son, Wyatt, is Kay's cousin," Trin said.

"What? How?" Ivy asked as they walked out of the East Range.

"I'll explain in due time," Trin said.

"Why?" Ivy asked as they walked towards the car.

"There's a lot to unpack about it and all that stuff," Trin said.

"Could you give me a hint or a taste?" Ivy asked.

Trin unlocked the car and looked over the roof of the said car. "You like spoilers, don't you?" she asked.

"Sometimes the spoilers make you want to finish the show," Ivy said, with a canted head.

"Oh, well, I'll give you a taste," Trin said.

"A taste?" Ivy asked.

"That's what a spoiler is," Trin said and got into the car.

Ivy followed her and got in the passenger seat. Looking across the counsel, Ivy saw Trin getting set behind the wheel. Trin started up the car and looked back at Ivy.

"I'd buckle up if I were you," Trin said.

Ivy buckled up and closed the door behind her. "So, what's my taste?" Ivy asked.

Trin started the car. As the engine purred, Trin adjusted the radio. "Taste of what?" Trin asked.

"You're story," Ivy said.

"Oh, that," Trin said, slipped the car in reserve, and backed out of the parking spot.

"Yeah, that," Ivy said, getting frustrated with Trin.

Trin put the car into drive and pulled out of the East Range Parking Area. She put her foot on the gas a little too hard, and a few bits of loose gravel kicked up. Trin looked in the rearview mirror and shrugged. She guided the car out of Beaulieu's front-drive.

"A spoiler for my story, that's what you want," Trin stated as she drove to nobody specific.

"That would be nice," Ivy said.

"Boudica, what are you playing tonight?" Trin asked as she turned the stereo up.

"What does Boudica of the Iceni have to do with this? Also, when did she start playing music?" Ivy asked.

"It's what the DJ is called," Trin said and pointed to the stereo.

"Oh," Ivy said.

Trin shrugged, "No big deal," she said.

"So, what's the spoiler?" Ivy asked.

"You're a Chicago Native, right?" Ivy asked.

"Yeah, you're point?" Ivy asked.

"Are you a Blackhawks fan?" Trin asked.

"Hockey?" Ivy asked.

"Yes, hockey," Trin said.

"Are you a Rangers fan?" Ivy asked, snarky.

"No, a Hurricanes fan, I love hockey," Trin said.

"Hockey's fun; I play a little," Ivy said.

"Really? What position?" Trin asked.

"I'm a goalie," Ivy said.

"Cool, I've got to see you play someday," Trin said.

"If you ever get to Chicago," Ivy said, "You could see me play."

"Cool," Trin said, as they reached the center of Tree Hill, "I owe you a spoiler."

Ivy nodded, "That you do," she said.

"Well, here you go," Trin said.

"Finally," Ivy said, frustrated.

"It started a long time ago, when I first entered high school," Trin said.

"That's it?" Ivy asked.

"For now," Trin said and parked the car in the municipal parking lot.
