Ass-

The day had started off badly with a disagreement with his ace pilot and personal demon, and continued on a downward spiral from there. Tigh gave him a hard time over the flight schedules, his father got the better of him during their sparring match, and the President had requested that he go, as her personal representative, to meet with Tom Zarek to discuss how the living conditions on the Astral Queen might be improved. He hated Tom Zarek. When was the frakker going to get tired of calling his father "Zeus?"

His crummy mood was elevated by the promise of a hot shower and a soft bed, and by the time he returned to his quarters, he was practically giddy. His flight suit was already hanging at his waist and he had peeled off his tanks in a single unit. They were mid-toss on their way to the couch, when he noticed someone was sleeping on it. As they landed on the sleeping form's face, he realized said sleeping form was his ace pilot and personal demon.

Kara sat up with a start, snatching Lee's sweaty tanks off her head and throwing them back at him. "God's Lee, I didn't realize you were such a slob."

"Don't you have a maintenance shift?" Lee asked, catching the tanks and making as if throw them back at her.

She put her hands up defensively and turned her head to ward them off, but they never came. When she looked back at him he was grinning. "Ha! Made you flinch." He laughed, throwing them into the corner.

"Why are you behaving like a four year old?" She chided.

"I'm not behaving like a four year old." He retorted.

"Yes you are."

"No, I'm not."

"Are too."

"Am n…" What was he doing? "Why were you sleeping on the couch?" He asked instead.

"I fell asleep waiting for you." She replied, taking a step towards him. "I'm sorry I called you an ass this morning."

"You've called me worse." He said warily. Kara never apologized, so she must want something.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and nipped gently at his earlobe. "I love you, you know." She whispered hotly in his ear.

He let out a sigh. There it was. He cupped her face in his hands and looked her straight in the eye. "I know," he replied, "but you're still grounded."

She pulled away from him and stomped into their bedroom, slamming the door behind her.

"And we're not naming the baby 'Oliver.'" He shouted after her.

"Ass!" She yelled through the closed door.

He removed his filght suit and settled onto the couch. His shower would have to wait.

"I love you too." He yelled back.
