Chapter 310: Beaulieu Sauna
Tuesday, January 31st, Morning
After breakfast, Candi, Fawn, and Madyson returned to their rooms in the Clock Tower Range and changed into swimsuits. They headed to the North Range and got set for the sauna. After a shower, each woman wrapped themselves in a towel and entered the sauna. Each woman took a seat on one of the benches in the sauna room.
Candi laid across the bench and leaned against the wall. She let out a sigh and closed her eyes. Fawn laid down on her bench and dropped a towel over herself; also, she used a second towel as a pillow. Madyson sat on her bench and looked around the sauna.
"Fawn, you need to add one of these to the house," Madyson said.
"Where am I going to put it?" Fawn asked.
"What about that office space on the ground floor we don't use?" Madyson asked.
"I was thinking of making that another bedroom," Fawn said.
"Why?" Madyson asked.
"Another tenant," Fawn said.
"What do you think, Candi?" Madyson asked.
"I just want to relax and enjoy the steam," Candi said.
"Why didn't you tell me you were rich, Candi?" Madyson asked.
"She's not rich; her parents are rich," Fawn said.
"I don't believe that; look at this place," Madyson said.
"This is my Aunt Brooke's place, and it's more a formality than blood relation," Candi said.
"You don't and still don't strike me as a rich kid," Madyson said.
"Mads, how's a rich kid supposed to act?" Fawn asked.
"I never lied," Candi said.
"But you never explained all the hookups," Madyson said.
"The concerts we were on the guest list to boost the numbers and get word of mouth going. All the acts were on my step-mom's label," Candi said.
"So, it was a favor?" Madyson asked.
"Well, something like that, sometimes having a Scott show up would usually scare the hell out of the people that support the acts," Candi said.
"What about the dresses?" Madyson asked.
"Brooke, god bless her, spoils the women she calls her girls," Candi said.
"You're one of her girls?" Madyson asked.
"Yeah, she adopted me when I lived in New York City, myself, and Fallon were close friends with Izzy and Chase. Brooke, as you could see, has one hella, big heart," Candi said.
"Why don't you tell people this?" Madyson asked.
"Would you?" Fawn asked, "I went to med school with Candi; you'd be surprised what happens when people found out her background."
"What?" Madyson asked.
"It's not an advantage as you would think," Candi said.
"Why not?" Madyson asked.
"I had to fight for my place in the cardiac program; they were worried about distractions," Candi said.
"Is that why you work all the time?" Madyson asked.
"No, that's just, Candi," Fawn said.
"Candi, you're being awfully quiet," Madyson said.
"I have to do something today," Candi said.
"Okay, what is it we'll come with," Madyson said.
Candi shook her head. "No, I got to do it on my own," she said.
"Fawn, do you know what this is?" Madyson asked.
"I know a lot of things about Candi, but she still has her secrets," Fawn said.
"Just something I have to do," Candi said.
"Okay," Madyson said.
"Enjoy, Beaulieu, and are you going to the game tonight?" Candi asked.
"I plan on being there," Fawn said.
"Yeah, sure," Madyson said.
Candi nodded, "My parents were never married until I was sixteen. I was raised without my dad. My mom got hurt, and I was sent here to live. A whole lot of lies came out; that's why I don't talk to my mom anymore," she said.
"That sucks," Madyson said.
"This city is as close to home as I've ever felt, and well, this is my family," Candi said, "I try to protect that as much as possible."
Madyson nodded, "But you cut things off," she said.
"Because your relationship is with me, not my family," Candi said.
"Well, I can tell you I never expected to have drinks with a congresswoman and a professional athlete," Madyson said.
"Yeah, she'd shit a brick if Kat wasn't on tour," Fawn said.
Candi laughed, "Kat is amazing; she could be the most interesting and boring person at the same time," she said.
"Kat?" Madyson asked.
"We told you we knew Kat when you met Alix," Fawn said.
"Kat?" Madyson asked.
"Kat Hartmann," Fawn said.
"Oh shit! I forgot," Madyson said.
Candi nodded, "I'll take you to Leighton before we leave; you could see the house I grew up in," she said.
"I can't wait to see it," Madyson said.
"How much has it changed?" Fawn asked.
"It's closed up now," Candi said, "The rest depends on Izzy and her tastes."
"Do you miss living here?" Madyson asked.
"Do you miss Melbourne?" Candi asked.
"A little, but my life is in Los Angeles," Madyson said.
"The answer is the same for me," Candi said.
"On a tangential note," Fawn said, "Your dad doesn't look like his normal self?"
Candi nodded, "That has me worried too. Sawyer asked me if he talked to me about something. That has me worried," she said, "I'm going to talk about it."
"Sawyer can be a bit of a yenta," Fawn said.
"That's Sawyer, but she always has good intentions," Candi said.
"Candi, how did you get a super bounce ball of a sister? Everyone else is all so serious?" Madyson asked.
Candi laughed, "We're trying to figure that out ourselves," she said.
"Kay's sleeve is coming out nice," Fawn said.
"I noticed that too; I'm surprised she's happy with the work. Kay's picky about her artwork," Candi said.
"Kay's scary," Madyson said.
Candi and Fawn both laughed.
"What's so funny?" Madyson asked.
"Kay's a yappy dog at best, all bark and no bite," Fawn said.
"Yeah, there are only three women in my family that scare me," Candi said, "Well, maybe four."
"Who would that be?" Madyson asked.
"My Aunt Haley, Izzy, Grandma Karen, and my Aunt Brooke," Candi said.
"Why?" Madyson asked.
"Everyone is scared of Haley; trust me, it's safer that way. I've seen my Aunt Brooke; she can handle a pistol. My Grandma Karen can cut you, even though she seems so nice," Candi said.
"But Izzy? She seems so nice," Madyson said.
"Even when she slides the blade into you," Candi said.
"I just can't see Izzy capable of that," Madyson said.
"That's why she's so effective at it," Fawn said.
Candi closed her eyes, and leaned back her head, and just tried to enjoy the steam.
