Chapter 335: It's a Sin
Tuesday, January 31st, Evening
During the second half, Kay excused herself to head to the restroom. As she walked through The Commons, she saw Angela and Ashton talking and Kelly with her family. Finding the restroom, Kay went in and used it.
Once she finished washing her hands, she found Trin stepping out of one of the other stalls. Kay slyly watches Trin in the mirror as she washed her hands. Kay carefully and slowly dried her hands.
As Trin finished washing her hands, Kay moved. Trin was in good shape but was not a match for the bigger, stronger, and faster Kay. With her left arm, Kay grabbed Trin and pinned her against the nearby wall. The speed and sheer thought of Kay lashing out caught Trin off guard.
Even with a weakened right arm, Kay was sure she could handle Trin. She lifted Trin just slightly to keep her feet off the ground with her left hand and arm. The two women stared each other down. Kay's cold steel-blue eyes stared into Trin's hazel. Trin tried to but couldn't hide her panicked feelings.
"What the fuck, Kay?" Trin asked.
"I should be asking you the same thing," Kay said.
"What do you mean?" Trin asked.
"Your little stunt last night," Kay said.
"What? She was bored, and you were out, so we just went out for drinks," Trin said.
"Don't try and pull that bullshit on me, Trin; I've known you too long," Kay said.
"It was just drinks, Kay; I wasn't trying to steal your girlfriend," Trin said.
"That's not it," Kay said.
"Look, Kay, she's not my type," Trin said.
"You told stories about me," Kay said.
"How do you know that?" Trin asked.
"You don't think Ivy and I talk?" Kay asked.
"Not about what she asked about last night," Trin said.
"Which is my business to share with her, not yours," Kay said.
"If you told her, she wouldn't have had to ask me," Trin said.
"Do you tell all your stories, especially ones you don't even know, to someone easily?" Kay asked.
"What did you say?" Trin asked.
Kay pushed Trin harder against the wall. "Do you share things you yourself are trying to figure out?" Kay asked.
"When I need help," Trin said.
"Goddamn Trin, I thought you turned a corner with all this bullshit," Kay said.
"What are you doing, Kay?" Trin asked.
"Those were my fucking stories, Trin, mine, mine to share. They were about me and one of the worst times in my life," Kay said.
"But you don't share it; someone had to," Trin said.
Kay pushed Trin against the wall again. "It's my business, not yours," she said.
"Well, I see it got you talking about it," Trin said.
"It's not your place to be even involved," Kay said.
"So, I kicked started things," Trin said.
"Kickstarted things?" Kay asked.
"Yes, helped get the ball rolling," Trin said.
"Ball rolling? I don't need your help getting the ball rolling," Kay said.
"We wouldn't be having this conversation if you didn't need a kick in the pants," Trin said.
"You fucking compared me to Brian," Kay said.
"You're similar in personality to your cousin," Trin said.
"Do you understand how big of an insult that is?" Kay asked.
"It was just an observation," Trin said.
"Maybe you should've kept that observation to yourself," Kay said.
"Well, I thought Ivy had the right to know," Trin said.
"You thought that there is the problem, Trin, you thought, maybe you should worry about your own house," Kay said.
"What do you mean?" Trin asked.
"You're not one for having good relationships," Kay said.
"One should talk, Kay," Trin said.
"Whatever, just be careful; we don't want Ellie brought into this," Kay said.
"You're going to drag my best friend into this?" Trin asked.
"Who happens to my sister, my twin sister," Kay said.
"You two are the worse twins in history," Trin said.
"We might be mirrors, but understand one thing, Trin," Kay said.
"What's that?" Trin asked.
"Blood is thicker than water," Kay said.
"Are you sure?" Trin asked.
"Yes," Kay said.
"Okay," Trin said.
Kay gripped Trin harder and held her tightly against the wall. "One more thing," Kay said.
"That would be?" Trin asked.
"Stay away from Ivy and me the rest of the time we're in Tree Hill," Kay said.
"How can I promise that?" Trin asked.
"Be creative," Kay said.
"If I don't?" Trin asked.
Kay tightened her grip even tighter and pushed Trin harder against the wall. Kay's eyes were now an icy blue. "You don't want to know," Kay said and let go of Trin. "If I were you, I'd get out of here."
Trin nodded and slowly slipped out of the restroom. Kay watched as Trin left and then nodded. Slowly, Kay walked over to the sink. Looking in the mirror, Kay sighed heavily and studied her blue eyes. The coldness in her eyes faded and took their normal neutral look.
After a long moment, Kay looked away from the mirror and left the restroom. She slowly made her way back towards The Commons. Kay paused a moment and studied the lay of the land, seeing that the McMichael family were still together. Also, Angela and Ashton were still in conversation about what Kay didn't know nor cared about.
Kay nodded, left The Commons, and headed to the Field House. In the Field House, Kay noticed Trin hadn't returned to The Field House yet. Kay bit her lower lip and nodded.
Finally, Kay headed to the bleachers. Slowly, she picked her way back to where Ivy sat. Taking a seat next to her girlfriend, Kay looked to the court. Finally, she looked up to the scoreboard to see Tree Hill leading Forty-three to twenty-three.
"What happened? Fall in?" Ivy asked.
"No, had something to take care of," Kay said.
"Karen, what did you do?" Ivy asked.
"Nothing," Kay said.
Ivy sighed, "Why don't I believe you?" she asked.
"Just asserting my dominance," Kay said.
"Karen?" Ivy asked, with disappointment in her voice.
Kay took Ivy's hand and gently patted it. "Don't worry about it," Kay said.
"Karen?" Ivy asked.
"Don't worry about it, and let's watch the game," Kay said.
"Okay," Ivy said, and they turned to watch the basketball game.
