Chapter 13
The trio of trainers had made it to their destination, Cerulean City. Both younger teens were excited and wanted to test their training at the gym, while Lynn had other things in mind. Ronnie Anne and Clyde were chatting happily behind Lynn, when she stopped suddenly making them bump into her.
"Sorry Lynn, but why'd you stop?" Clyde asked after getting his footing.
"Yeah! We need to get to the gym to get our next badge" Ronnie Anne complained, slightly annoyed.
"Looks like we're gonna have changes to plans for today, look" Lynn answered while pointing to a poster on a nearby wall. The poster was promoting a water acrobatics group called the Sensational Sisters. The show had 3 young women and Pokemon doing tricks, stunts, and synchronized swimming at the Cerulean City Gym 3 out of 7 days a week. During these days the gym wouldn't be taking challenges for badges, and today happened to be one of those days.
After reading the poster Clyde was slightly disappointed, while Ronnie Anne was down right upset. "Well that's just stupid!" The younger girl shouts at the poster. "Why are the shows held at the gym instead of somewhere else?"
"I don't know, but maybe this is a good thing" Lynn said to the angry teen. "I can meet with the runner that should still be here and we can send your guys souvenirs back home. If you feel like it we can even go check out this Sensation Sisters show."
"That's a great idea!" Clyde said happily, hoping his dads will like the carving he got for them.
"Yeah, okay" Ronnie Anne said with a sigh of defeat. She didn't really want to continue to carry the things she got for her family in her backpack.
They made their way to the post office and bought a proper box for their items and sent them off. They were informed that their packages would take a couple of weeks to a month to get to them. This was because they had to send them to the Indigo Plateau, go through customs, then through the portal, go through earth's customs, and finally handed over to a delivery service to go to their families. Once that was done, they made their way to the Pokecenter to book a room and meet up with the runner.
Ronnie Anne and Clyde booked the room while Lynn and the runner went outside. As they went outside to join Lynn, they saw her examining a small white equine with a lavender and teal mane and tail. Lynn was gently touching every part of its body, while keeping an eye on its expression. It showed no signs of aggression, nervousness, or displeasure, except for when she touched the right hind leg. Lynn saw it gave a nervous look and flinched when she made contact, but continued on with her examination. "Why did it flinch when I touched its back leg?" She asked, finishing her examination.
"One of the breeder's party Pokemon was a little too eager to battle and bit that leg, trying to get it to battle." He said nonchalantly with a shrug. "It shows no aggression from this only discomfort, it's fine as a party member or pet."
"Just because it doesn't show any aggression now doesn't mean it won't in the future" Lynn said counter his argument. "I'm going to need a professor and maybe a doctor to evaluate it, maybe more depending on what they say. I think that calls for a small discount on the price."
The blue-haired young man frowned while silently grinning his teeth at the situation. Most of the time people and trainers just look at the Pokemon and just pay, but this person was one of the more cautious trainers. The few that thoughtlessly examine the Pokemon making sure there's issues before paying. He could just tell her no and that'd be it. However if she didn't buy it he'd be stuck with it and take it back to the breeder and tell him why he was giving it back to him. "I'll take 2000 off the price, but no lower."
Lynn was hoping to lower the price more, but time was against her. She needed this Pokemon before Christmas and there is no guarantee she'll find another breeder before then, plus she still has time to get it looked at by Professor Juniper. After letting out a small sigh she agreed, she transferred the money through the poketch and he called back the Ponyta and gave her its pokeball. With the deal done, he left the 3 trainers at the pokecenter.
"Well all I need to do is send Ponyta to Professor Juniper then we can make it to the next Sensation Sisters show." Lynn told her students. "Are you going to join McBride and I to watch the show, or stay in the room until we get back, Santiago?"
"Can't I go train with my Pokemon?" Ronnie Anne pleaded. "I have 3 already, that should be enough to keep me safe right?"
"Your Poochyena still won't listen to you and we don't know how strong your Houndour is." The Bennett haired girl counter. "I might if I knew how strong Houndour was, but at this moment that is still unknown since you just got her. So no you can't train by yourself. You either join us or stay in the room we booked."
"Fine, I'll go watch the show" the young trainer grumbled with a frown. "It's better than being stuck in a room for who knows how long."
"Alright, now that's settled, wait out here for me" Lynn told the two of them before going inside to send Ponyta to Professor Juniper and giving her the details.
