POV Garp

Garp just wants his grandsons safe. If only the dumb little shits joined Marines, they are strong enough to get assigned captaincy once outta basic training. Then train them up in Six Powers and Haki, they would have made Rear Admiral in a year and Vice Admiral in two. Garp knows once they made Vice Admiral, his Grandsons would be virtually untouchable, however wary the Old Fogies are of D's, they would be eager to get them on their side. Any talk of the boys connection to their fathers would have been buried deep, after all with the exception of Sengoku and the Old Fogies, nobody else knows of Garps connection to Dragon in the World Government, not the Celestial Cunts, not Cipher Pol, not the Admirals, not even the Commander in Chief Kong.

Even though Garp stopped talking about Dragon after his ungrateful son did what he did, Garp made no secret of having cute grandsons, even then nobody dug into where his Grandsons came from. World Government knows their business, which is burying things so well that most even don't know that something has buried to begin with, after all you have to be good at burying things to bury a whole century of history.

So Garp knows his Grandsons would have been safe if only the little shits joined the Marines, nobody wants a D for an enemy, especially the World Government. Garp knows that World Government is shady as shit, he knows his piss is worth more than all the Celestial Dragons combined and that some of the things they did would make Rocks seem like a Saint. Yet there is more to the World Government than all of that. Seven in ten Marines join because they want to do some good, protect people or to just put steady meals on their families tables. For all the battles in Grandline, the Four Seas are mostly stable, most people get to live in peace their whole lives, the Sea is too vast, without a central organization the cycle of battles and uneasy ceasefires of Grand Line would be the actual state of the World instead of what they have now. Most pirates take to the seas because they want to rape, pillage and murder not because of Adventure. So the World needs the Marines, does it need the World Nobles? No, not really. World Nobles are a general nuisance instead of Heads of the Government that everyone thinks them as. Even the Old Fogies aren't really loyal to them, the Five Elder Bastards rule the world if anything. But the old bastards do indulge World Nobles, like a pet cat which does nothing but piss on the carpets and shred the curtains. Garp hates cats. Anyway, there is something about the old fogies that Garp doesn't understand, they could have slaughtered the World Nobles wholesale and nobody would have given a shit, nothing would have changed, if anything things would get better. Yet those old bastards don't, it isn't because of loyalty and it sure as hell isn't because they couldn't stomach genocide, the old bastards would commit genocide for breakfast and go about their day without batting an eye. So, no, it's got to be something else, something or someone, Garp doesn't know, it's a mystery.

Anyway Garp got sidetracked, since Ace pissed away his chance of being a Marine so thoroughly, only Luffy's left. Now Garp has a choice to make, Garp knows himself, that means he knows Luffy too, little shit would not join the Marines voluntarily, even if Garp dragged Luffy to the recruitment office, Garp will have to always keep an eye Luffy to prevent him from running away and Luffy would be miserable. While Garp does want his Grandsons safe he wants them happy too. Why couldn't the little bastards be less like Garp, if they didn't want to join Marines, fine, they could just settle down with a nice lass have a family and work on giving Garp great grand children, but nooo, the little shits just had to fall in love with the sea of adventures, they just have to raise the Jolly Roger. The dumb fuckers, pah. Now Garp has to decide either Garp trains Luffy in Six Powers and Haki or his dumb little grandson will bite off something he couldn't chew and get himself killed. When put like that it was no choice at all. All this thinking is frying my brain, let's pummel, I mean train my subordinates until we reach Foosha.
