.This is basically a one-shot that goes over the major plot points/scenes for Darth Kyofu, maybe after I'm finished with Legion I'll flesh it out more.
I also have a tiktok and instagram that has drawings/animatics for some of these scenes. I know I should be doing stuff for Legion, but Kyofu just interests me so much.
Check it out under eternallantern
And yes a lot of scenes are from the Kenobi series, I just loved it so much!
"Forgive me, young Midoriya…had I known." All Might sobbed as he held onto his chosen successor's hand.
The latter was in the hospital bed, broken beyond anything before. Although All Might had tried his best to prepare Izuku to become a proper vessel, One For All had proven too much and had ended up destroying his body.
His right arm had been destroyed below his shoulder, and he would need a prosthetic, one which All Might would pay for personally.
Scars littered his body however, from where Recovery Girl had tried her best to heal him, in the end, however, Izuku Midoriya could not become a hero.
Yet he was happy.
"It's okay, All Might…we didn't know this would happen. As it is…I'm glad…I got a chance." Izuku smiled as tears flowed down.
"You gave me a chance, All Might…if anything…you saved me by giving me a chance."
He then motioned for the other boy in the room to come closer.
"Mirio Togata, I'm glad that One For All will not die with me…I hope that you prove yourself a better successor than I was." He said as he pulled out a hair, presenting it to him.
Mirio shakily took it, but was hesitant to actually swallow.
"I…I'm sorry…that it came to this…you deserved to be a hero. All Might chose you."
"And yet here we are, unfortunately…somethings aren't meant to be."
Mirio held on tightly to Izuku's remaining hand, the moment becoming sacred for them.
"This power has been passed on from generation to generation, created to inspire hope and peace for the people. I entrust its future to you, Mirio."
"I will not fail you, Nine."
Izuku smiled.
"I know you won't, Ten."
6 Months Later
Izuku smiled calmly as he looked out the window of his hospital room. His physical therapy was coming along nicely, and his arm was doing wonders for him.
He eagerly awaited for tomorrow, Ochako would be visiting him again after her internships, they'd become fast friends after everything that had happened, and she had promised that she would become a hero for him.
He asked that she become a hero for herself, and they eventually compromised on becoming a hero for the both of them.
His mother was grabbing something from the vending machines down the hall, soon enough they'd be-
~~~~~~~
Izuku woke up to pain, he could hear voices crying out in panic and the sounds of attacks and chaos all around him.
He tried to move but gasped in pain and looked behind him, grimacing as he saw the concrete on top of his legs, pinning him to the floor.
'A villain attack!'
"M-mom! Anybody! HELP! PLEASE!"
"OUTTA MY WAY, EXTRAS!"
KABOOM!
"GET BACK HERE, VILLAIN!"
"Kacchan!" Izuku cried out, catching the other boy's attention.
"Huh, DEKU!?"
"Please! Save me! I'm stuck!"
Kacchan turned around.
"Save yourself, Deku! I've got villains to kill!" He roared as he blasted off, smoke and singe hitting Izuku's face.
Izuku stared disbelievingly as Bakugos went farther away.
"...No…please, I- help, help me!"
But as always, Bakugos left him behind.
And something within Izuku snapped.
Izuku growled and snarled at his retreating image.
"I HATE YOU!"
Bakugo paid it no mind.
Then, the hospital ignited.
And Izuku burned.
He started to howl in pain as the flames consumed him, the entire hospital falling apart around him, debris starting to fall in front of him.
'Please…'
The hole in the wall became covered in debris and less light entered the room.
'Somebody, anybody…'
He was cut off from the world and continued to burn.
'Save me…'
Izuku mercifully fell unconscious, unaware of the dark portal that appeared beneath him.
Izuku woke up to further pain, although it was dulled, muted. He tried to speak but could barely cough, his lungs feeling like fire.
"Poor child…abandoned by the world. Nobody came to save you did they?"
'Who?'
"You may address me as Sensei, and I am but a humble man simply looking to right the wrongs in this world. For example…look."
Turning his head to a screen that just turned on, Izuku's eyes widened as he saw the news.
'HERO IN TRAINING: DYNAMIGHT, PRAISED FOR WORK IN DEFEATING VILLAINS.'
'He…he's getting praise for it?'
His rage and hatred were increasing as he started to snarl.
Then his heart broke.
He saw Mirio, Ochako, and All Might…all at the scene…looking for survivors, but when they were interviewed.
"Young Dynamight did excellent work."
"Dynamight's got some skill."
"He should have focused more on the hospital and its patrons…" Ochako, dear Ochako said while trembling. "But I guess he did alright."
And his heart broke even more.
They didn't even know…they didn't know that he was still alive. That Bakugo was getting praise that was completely undeserved.
He would destroy him.
He would return to them.
He would get them back.
Izuku turned his head back to the man who saved him, rage clear in his eyes.
"I will help you, my boy. I will give you power and strength to create your own destiny and destroy those who wronged you. You need only serve me."
Izuku's eyes burned with hatred as he looked at his savior.
"...yes…" He rasped out.
The man chuckled and smiled.
"Good, although I should warn you…this will hurt."
Then he removed his hand, and the pain returned tenfold.
Izuku was swept away in darkness and found himself in a laboratory, a familiar doctor appearing and commencing the procedure.
Every step was excruciating, every poke and prod made his body feel as if he was back inside the fire. His limbs were amputated, replaced with prosthetics and he was eventually covered in a full body suit, various pieces of machinery inserted into him, all to help him live.
Then there were the black rods that pierced his flesh, inserting something alien into his body, a pain that almost made him black out.
But he refused to succumb, somehow knowing that all this pain, all this suffering would serve him.
Finally, the last piece.
Izuku stared with no small amount of fear as the mask lowered towards his face, its eyes opening to show red lenses.
As it was lowered he could only whisper out one thing.
"Save me, All Might."
The mask connected with the rest of his suit with a hydraulic hiss and whine, the helmet being connected last as the suit finally pressurized.
Kuuhhhhhhh Kheerrrrrrr*
The bed slowly rose up, as the newly created person was risen from the ashes of his former self.
All For One stood next to him smiling sadistically.
"My boy, can you hear me?"
He breathed for a moment, adjusting to it, replying.
"Yes, Master."
All For One was pleased, it seemed that All Might's failed apprentice would be very useful in the future.
"Where is my mother? Is she safe? Is she alright?"
All For One pretended to mourn as he faced the boy.
"It seems that in the conflict…the heroes killed her."
In shock, he turned forward, unable to comprehend what happened.
"It-it can't be! She was alive! I know it!"
He groaned as the entire room started to tremble, machinery and tubings being crushed under an unseen force.
He tore off the restraints, forcing himself to take his first steps.
He screamed in agony, as All For One smiled.
Yes, he would be useful indeed.
Telekinesis, Kinetic Blasts, Emotional Enhancement, Pain Conversion, and more. His previously quirkless body had been perfect for managing the quirks that had been given to him.
"Tell me, my boy. Now that you have risen anew, what shall you call yourself? Shall you remain tied down by your old name?"
Bowed on his knee, he shook his head in denial.
"Midoriya Izuku is dead. I…I am the darkness that remains of him, and I will strike fear into the hearts of the false heroes and corruption of this world.
All For One, having previously looked into his memories with a special quirk in his collection, smiled, it couldn't be more poetic.
"Very well then. Henceforth! You shall be known as…Darth…Kyofu."
Darth Kyofu breathed deeply, as he felt power flow through him, Emotional Enhancement allowing him to use his rage as fuel for his power.
"Arise, my apprentice. For while Tomura shall be the paragon of the League, you shall be its shadow. And when the time comes, you will have your revenge on those who wronged you."
Eri was afraid, but she was used to fear and disappointment. She could hear the sounds of battle above her, a part of her wondered if the heroes were actually here, but she didn't believe that they would make it.
Nobody did.
Then everything went dark.
"Chrono, what happened!?"
"I don't know, Overhaul!"
"We need to leave, the hero filth are almost upon us, take Eri and-"
BANG! CRASH! CREAK! GROAN!
Kuuhhhhh kerrrrhhhh*
"What is that?"
PSHWZOOOOM
A red blade pierced the darkness, revealing a haunting figure that stood menacingly in the middle of the hallway.
"KILL HIM!"
At once the Shie Hassakai attacked, but even though he moved slowly, the figure's actions were devastating. With his red blade, attacks were deflected and thrown back, with a mere gesture of his hand, yakuza were thrown away and crushed. Even those of the Eight Precepts of Death were no match, swiftly cut down brutally and with no mercy.
Overhaul tried to attack but an invisible push sent him towards the wall. Chrono also attempted to attack with his arrows, but they were cut off, reaching out with his hand, Chrono gasped and choked before he impacted the ceiling, a few more yakuza tried to attack but were swiftly defeated and like an afterthought the figure swung up and killed Chrono.
Eri could only watch in wonder as this man, quickly and effortlessly took down her tormentors.
All that was left was one.
Overhaul growled and tried to touch the ground, but his hand fell only a few inches short. Frozen in the air, he could only gasp as he was suddenly lifted up, unable to do anything.
"I thought you heroes…didn't kill!"
…
"Do I look like a hero?"
Overhaul's eyes widened then as he realized that this was another rival.
"Who are you!?"
"I am Darth Kyofu, and you, Chisaki, will serve as another example of the failures of hero society."
"You! I'll kill you for this!"
"No…you will not."
Kyofu then turned to the little girl who could only stare at him in wonder.
"Close your eyes, child. You do not have to see this."
"Are you going to kill me too?"
Kyofu turned to her in surprise and confusion, so shocked that he even let his lightsaber turn off.
"And why would I do so?"
"'Cause of my curse…Overhaul said that I was cursed and deserved to be dead, but he still had a use for me."
The cavern was shaking now as Kyofu turned towards the floating man.
"You dare?"
"You have no idea what she's capable of! Her curse will be the cure for this society full of sickness. No more villains, no more heroes, no more quirks! All thanks to my work! I will restore the glory of the yakuza!"
"The quirk-erasing bullets, the human DNA, they're hers." Kyofu whispered before turning to the girl.
"Nothing will stand in my way! Nothing!"
"Tell me, child. What is it you desire most?"
Eri pondered as well as she could for a six-year-old but even so the answer was simple.
"I want to be free…" Eri whispered.
"Good."
Overhaul was then wrenched forward, his arms pinned behind him, hands in the air.
"What are you doing!?"
"If you wish to be free, child, then I shall help you. I will help you control your power, and you can ensure that nobody will suffer as you did. You need only join me, and I will teach you all that you need to know."
Eri looked at the man in disbelief. He actually wanted her? To help her?
It was a dream come true.
"What about the heroes?"
"The heroes have failed you, as they failed me, as they will fail countless others. They would not have arrived in time. Only through me, can you be truly free."
Eri then looked at Overhaul.
"What about him? He'll come hunting for us."
"That can be easily fixed and if you so desire, you can free yourself." The hilt of the lightsaber floated up and in front of Eri, waiting for her to take it.
"W-what are you doing?" Overhaul asked in shock.
Eri took the hilt in her hand and observed it, she had never seen anything like it.
"The button next to your thumb will ignite the blade. This will be your first step in becoming free."
Eri was no stranger to death, plenty of her 'caretakers' had perished after running afoul of Overhaul.
"Eri! Don't you dare you stupid girl! I'll tear you to pieces! Don't you dare think that you can even hope to stand against me!" Overhaul yelled as he struggled against the unseen force.
"Words of a dying man, desperately trying to save his life…pathetic. Do it, Eri. Release yourself from your chains." Kyofu said as he motioned to her.
"ERI! ERI!"
She walked closer to him, the opening pointed towards him.
"ERIIIII–"
PSHWZOOOOM!
Eri had discovered her new favorite color as she saw the light leave Chisaki's disbelieving eyes.
It was red.
She smiled.
The rise of Shigaraki's army had been swift, his attacks brutal, his devastation unparalleled.
Which is why it was so much of a shock when both he and All For One were killed so easily.
The new Dark Lord of Japan, Darth Kyofu, had control over the country for the last few years and counting.
And under his rule, there were no more heroes.
Bakugo shakily leaned against some cargo, he'd been severely injured from his last encounter with the Dark Lord's apprentice, Darth Jiyu.
Nearly cut off his arm and she'd done something to his quirk.
"Katsuki~..." He heard her sing.
He grimaced as he tried to keep himself from exclaiming in pain.
"I can feel you…your fear betrays you."
Any other time he'd love to wipe that grin off her face, but unfortunately he couldn't do much.
"You don't have to worry." She started, admittedly making him a bit confused.
"You're not going to die…today." She finished sadistically.
"I'm just going…to take you to him!" Jiyu said with an almost cheery note.
"Lord Kyofu will be pleased…kacchan."
'K-kyofu? Kacchan?' Bakugo thought in surprise before it turned to increasing horror as he recalled a memory from long ago.
'Fine then, my villain name will be Kyofu! Face me, All Might!'
'It can't be! It's impossible!'
Jiyu paused, sensing something interesting.
"You didn't know…" She called out while smiling at the irony of it.
"He's alive, Katsuki. Midoriya Izuku is alive. And he's been looking for you for a long time."
Katsuki could only stare in shock and horror as he could only think of one word.
"Deku."
Across the country, a pair of hateful eyes opened. Finally sensing the one who eluded him for so long.
Kyofu breathed deeply through the machines, and although he appeared calm, his eyes showed the true storm that raged within him.
Toshinori, Mirio and Katsuki stared in horror at the dark figure that approached them, his mechanically breathing piercing their very hearts.
"What…"
"Have you…"
"Become?"
They asked.
Kyofu merely glared at them behind his mask, the light of his saber lighting up one of his eyes so much that they could see the barest hint of an actual eye behind it.
"I am what you MADE me!"
They tried to fight back, but Kyofu proved to be too strong.
And he was all too eager to deliver revenge.
Bakugo choked as he was held in the air, he groaned as his body was held high and he desperately strained against his invisible hold.
Kyofu had his blade ready, it would take a jerk of his hand to skewer him.
But he had other plans.
Lowering to ignite the fuel that had been knocked over in their scuffle, Kyofu's face could not be seen behind the mask, but Katsuki could easily imagine the sick glee on his face as the fire roared.
"Now you will suffer, Bakugo."
Katsuki screamed in agony as he was forced into the fire and dragged further into it, Toshinori and Mirio helpless to watch as small explosions began to erupt from where his sweat ignited, hurting him even more.
"Your pain…has just begun!" Kyofu stated, as if Katsuki's agony was a mere daily occurrence.
He held him down for some time more before pushing him back and extinguishing the fire.
Katsuki groaned as his burns continued to smoke, unable to do anything to help himself.
Fortunately, that was when the other freedom fighters arrived.
Toshinori stood before Darth Kyofu, the last remnants of One For All flowing through him. It could not return him to his full strength but it would allow him to do this.
He needed to do this.
"Have you come to destroy me? All Might?" Kyofu said as they faced each other.
"I will do what I must." Toshinori said as for the final time One For All flooded his body and to compensate for his reduced strength, he brought out his own blue blade.
Kyofu merely stared for a moment.
"Then you will die." He replied, igniting his crimson saber.
The two charged and attacked brutally, All Might with his punches and strikes and Kyofu with his own devastating telekinetic abilities and master swordsmanship.
Throughout their battle, the tide changed multiple times, and Toshinori was able to push Kyofu back. Punching a pillar, he cracked it and then used his strength to launch it at Kyofu.
Reaching out, Kyofu caught it with his power and held it in place.
"Your strength has returned." He observed. "But the weakness STILL REMAINS!"
Tossing it back to Toshinori who managed to cut it apart, they crossed blades once more.
Forcing Toshinori back, Kyofu slammed his hand into the ground, causing the ground to cave in under Toshinori.
"And that is why, you will always lose!"
With Toshinori trapped, Kyofu pressed the advantage and summoned a multitude of heavy rocks and debris on top of him.
…
Kyofu stood there silently, waiting for something to come out.
But nothing.
"Did you truly think that you could defeat me?"
Only silence answered him.
"You have failed…Master."
'Now for the Tenth, and the Villain.'
—
Toshinori groaned as he held back the rocks, his strength was failing him.
'I'm sorry Izuku, I'm so sorry that I failed you.'
Toshinori began to remember, all the happy memories that they shared together during his training, all the hospital visits.
His laughter, his jokes…
His smile.
Toshinori then remembered the others, the ones who were depending on him.
He couldn't let things finish like this.
Digging deep within himself, he pushed off the rocks and leapt forward.
—
Kyofu approached the final remnants of his past.
Mirio was crippled now without his arm, and Bakugo might as well be dead after taking the lightsaber to the gut.
He needed to finish it.
He paused.
With a flourish, red met blue once more as Kyofu was pushed back from them. Both he and Toshinori returned to their dance of death, only this time Kyofu was definitely being pushed back.
With a quick snap, Kyofu was pushed through sheer air pressure, being launched back towards the rocks and dropping his blade. Toshinori was quickly upon him, unleashing a flurry of blows that Kyofu could barely block with his telekinetic shield, the barrage wearing him down.
Kyofu was able to push through and struck once more,recalling his saber, he attacked and their battle intensified as Toshinori blocked and parried to the best of his ability.
Finally given an opening, Toshinori smashed Kyofu's centerpiece for his breathing apparatus, heavily damaging it and causing him to weaken. Swinging his blade around, Kyofu barely blocked before being struck by a heavy fist that knocked him back.
Breathing erratically, Kyofu lurched forward in a clumsy attack that left him wide open, Toshinori's blade quickly coming around and cutting through his back.
Toshinori forced himself to ignore the scream of pain that erupted from him.
Standing on guard as Kyofu got back to his feet, they met once more before Toshinori punched him away a good 15 feet, the latter grunting as he dragged through the ground.
With a roar, Toshinori ran and leapt forward, his blade cutting through Kyofu's helmet and sending him to the ground.
Kyofu wheezed and groaned in pain as Toshinori stepped back. Idly he noticed Bakugo and Mirio behind him, the latter supporting the former.
He backed up, blade at the ready in case of another attack, but he could see that Kyofu was down for the count, unable to even stand up properly.
Then he raised his head and Toshinori's heart stopped.
The scarred visage of Izuku stared out of Kyofu's half destroyed helmet, glaring hatefully at the three of them.
Toshinori let go of his protective stance, unable to do more damage.
"Izuku…"
Kyofu breathed weakly but still managed to stand and speak.
"Izuku is gone…I am what remains…"
Toshinori started to softly cry as he faced his beloved successor.
"I-I'm sorry…I'm sorry, Izuku. For all of it."
Behind him, Mirio and even Katsuki were crying, seeing what had become of him. One in shame and one in regret.
As the light from Toshinori's saber crossed over Izuku's face, they could see his lone eye also shake. From what, they couldn't tell, but it seemed to be brighter now, the dullest of emerald shining through and the slightest hint of liquid at the corner of it.
"I am not your failure, Toshinori." He replied, the vocoder crackling through with his voice.
"You didn't kill, Izuku Midoriya…" He said as he closed his eye. It then opened as the red from his blade began to shroud his face. The sorrowful stare turning into mocking glare with a sadistic smile appearing, "I did."
The red completely encompassed him, as his darkness returned, his eye becoming a sickly yellow.
"The same way, that I will destroy you three!"
Toshinori could only look at him with painful acceptance.
"Then my son is truly dead."
All three who heard that were shocked at the admittance, but couldn't say anything as Toshinori started to walk away, supporting Mirio and Bakugo.
"Goodbye, Darth."
Kyofu tried to follow, but could only fall to his knees.
"YAGI!"
Left alone, he could do nothing.
"ALL MIGHT!"
So yeah, that's what I have for now, I'd like to do more Vader scenes like with Ahsoka from Rebels, etc.
Btw in case it wasn't obvious, Darth Jiyu is Eri, with Jiyu meaning Free.
