Okay, so I know I said I wouldn't do a different story until I finished 'Arc-V: Geass Switch' which I was SO determined to do. But then, well, I lost motivation/interest to continue and it was no longer fun anymore. So! In order to hopefully restore that motivation, I've decided to work on another little plot bunny idea of mine. Hope you enjoy it as much as I will. :D

I absolutely love Subnautica as a video game, and I'm playing Below Zero in bits and pieces at a time right now. I'm just enjoying it and going absolutely nuts over Below Zero as well just like I did with the original game since I've opted to ignore watching any playthrough or look at any information on the game and its creatures. So, then my marvelous brain thought 'Hey, why not mix this awesome game with your favorite anime?' and I was like hell yes! So here is this glorious little strange brain child.

Warning! Yes, a warning. This story will have lots of swearing, violence, and blood/gore. If you don't like that, then this probably isn't for you and you shouldn't be reading this.

"Yes, I am Zero." = Regular speech

What is he up to? = Thoughts

"Where are you young one?" = Telepathic speech

"Hello, I am your PDA." = The PDA is speaking

I don't take any credit, nor do I own Code Geass or Subnautica. This story is purely for fun and my entertainment only.

Ch. 1: Taking the Dive

"Suzaku!"

A young teenage girl with fair features stood up from her position in hiding to call out to her knight. Long pink hair rolled off of her slender shoulders to show off her expensive dress and announce her status as that of royalty.

"Princess Euphemia?!" Suzaku Kururugi, the knight and protector of Third Princess Euphemia li Britannia, gaped in shock at seeing his highness all alone on this mysterious island. His prisoner, the Black Knight's ace Kallen Kozuki, was also caught off guard by this sudden development.

The two opposing fighters accidentally met up on this strange island after the Avalon attacked the Black Knights and the sky turned red. Both of their knightmare Frames, the Lancelot and Guren Mk. II respectively, were gone and out of reach, and so they had to fight with their bare hands. The results turned into the white knight's favor after catching the Black Knight ace by surprise and quickly subdued her after. Once they had found civilization once again, the redheaded terrorist was going to become Britannia's prisoner.

However, that quickly changed as another figure revealed themselves from the foliage to grab a tight hold of princess Euphemia's arm. The sound of a gun being cocked echoed eerily throughout the forest with its barrel being directed at none other than the Britannian princess herself.

"Don't move!" A modulated voice broke through the shock between Kallen, Suzaku, and Euphemia herself. "This girl is my prisoner."

It was none other than the masked messiah or terrorist, depending on which side of the fight you chose, Zero. The leader of the Black Knights and Britannia's number one most wanted criminal. After surviving the attack from Avalon and realizing he was at a different island, the masked man had quickly begun to survive on his own. That was, until he stumbled across Euphemia. The peaceful princess then called Zero out on his identity, as being none other than her thought to be dead brother Lelouch vi Britannia, the Eleventh Prince of the Holy Britannian Empire. Seeing this, and with Euphemia's promise to tell no one of his secret, the masked man revealed himself to his step sister. From there out, the two had stuck together and reminisced on their lives before Lelouch's mother, Empress Marianne the Flash's death all until now.

All four people were brought together by the sight of spotlights seen last night around this area.

The two sides, each with a prisoner, were in a sudden standoff at the top of one of Kamine Island's biggest hills.

"Zero." Kallen spoke softly with a surprised expression still on her face. But on the inside she let out a revealed smile at seeing her leader safe and unharmed. Not only that, but he managed to capture another royal of Britannia!

"Just follow my cue." Zero whispered to Euphemia, causing the girl to shift her attention to her masked step brother. However, the masked man ignored her look of confusion and hint of concern to speak louder towards his best friend turned enemy Suzaku. "I'll be taking back my subordinate you have there now, Kururugi. We'll exchange prisoners."

Kallen's expression turned into a big grin at Zero's words. He must have known I was in trouble. I just knew he would live and come back to help me! He's willing to trade a Princess of Britannia for me. The teenager inwardly cheered with just a hint of fan girlish awe. However, she was a fierce fighter at heart, and kept her focus strictly in the game. Let's change the tide of battle here. Taking extra care to wash that grin off of her face and return to a neutral scowl, her sapphire blue eyes staying on Suzaku carefully as he spoke.

The burnette had near murder glinting in his olive green eyes that had darkened and turned jaded at the sight of Euphemia in the hands of Zero, and especially at the sight of his gun pointed at her. "Zero." He growled the name out like just saying it put ash on his tongue, the pilot to the Lancelot stomped forward a few steps towards the masked man like a predator about to pounce. "Once again you-" Suzaku's snarl was cut off by the masked man himself, alongside his advance forwards.

"Keep back!" The masked man yelled warningly. Jostling the princess slightly and emphasizing the point that he had an armed weapon in his hands. "Hmph. You find my actions cowardly?" Zero asked rhetorically, seeing the answer clear on Suzaku's face. The masked terrorist laughed darkly as he continued speaking, keeping the Eleven knight's attention on himself and away from his ace pilot. "Eliminate terrorists no matter what the sacrifice."

As he spoke, Kallen carefully began to slip her legs through the binds on her wrists one leg at a time. While her wrists were still tied, she at least hand her arms in front of her rather than behind her. Her blue eyed gaze steady on Suzaku and Zero, looking for any signs of attack coming from the former.

"Do you intend to follow this rule and let your mistress die." The masked revolutionary's last word was emphasized with a near hiss, making him sound even more beast-like and demonic than usual. "In spite of the fact that your integrity has already been broken?" A simple tilt of his masked head like a demented puppy. The Black Knight's words were like a slap to the face at the harsh reminder of what Suzaku did all of those years ago.

Suzaku's olive green eyes widened, and just as he was about to lunge towards the masked man Kallen striked with an attack of her own. The redhead jumped forward and used her bound arms to keep the Eleven's own trapped at his sides. The two struggled against each other, one to free himself and the other to keep him contained.

Seeing Suzaku in danger finally caused Euphemia to speak up. She leaned forward even as Zero kept his grip on her arm and his gun pointed at her to speak. "Leave him alone!" She demanded.

"Oh shut up you royal puppet!" Kallen yelled back harshly. Her gaze on the pink princess one with derisive hate. Suzaku turned his head to glare at the redhead for speaking so rudely to his princess, but she continued speaking regardless. "You're useless!" She stated. "You can't even think for yourself or do anything on your own!"

A tick mark formed on the princess' head for a split second as she reeled back in shock. The woman's brass words made Euphemia's eyes widen and her emotions turned to anger. "What! I am not afraid of you!" The teenage girl stated boldly despite still being in Zero's grasp. Though both the masked man and Euphemia knew he didn't have the slightest intent of hurting her. "And I don't care what happens to me!" With that, the princess pointed towards her appointed knight. "Suzaku I command you to fight!" She ordered.

"Your highness?!" Zero felt one of his eyes twitch at just how fast everything was going downhill.

"With." Suzaku replied, finally freeing himself from Kallen's grip by pushing her arms up and sprinting forward with a grunt. "Pleasure!"

Nearly grinding his teeth together, Zero pushed Euphemia away seeing as the Eleven knight was gunning for her and to gain space. The Lancelot's pilot kept himself firmly wedged between his charge and public enemy number one. Kallen meanwhile, ran towards Zero's side and began to untie her restraints to free herself.

Zero growled keeping his gun directed at the stubborn Eleven. "You hard headed fool!"

Just then, everything began to turn red.

Everyone's eyes widened and in unison they all looked down in shock. The symbol of a red bird in flight had just suddenly started glowing a sparkling red on the ground beneath them. Two were staring at the symbol in surprised, if albeit confused shock, a third was looking in dazed fear, while the forth was looking on in masked pain.

"Huh?!"

"What the-!"

Everyone stumbled in place for a moment as the ground began to shake violently, but all four managed to stay on their feet. Dust and dirt began to kick up and fly everywhere as the stone beneath their feet began to crack and crumble into the shape of a square around them. The stone slab was quickly taken over by gravity and began to collapse before all of their eyes. Each person cried out in instinctual shock as it felt like their stomachs were going up into their throats as they too fell with the stone slab.

While no one noticed as they were falling, Zero felt a fierce stabbing pain in his eye that made him cry out louder than the rest. The feeling of an iron pole being lodged into his eye socket was fierce and unforgettable as some forgien liquid ran down the left side of his face that smelled like metallic rust.

Only he heard the strange voice that was seemingly calling out to him. A hushed, reverend whisper that was somehow louder than everything else. It was as if everything else faded away into nothing as it spoke, as if time itself had stopped itself for this crucial moment.

"What… are… you…?"

What?

Then everything came rushing back when Zero collided with the stone floor. His breath being stolen from his lungs as he landed on his back with his cape spread out on the now dusty stone slab. There were a lot of voices speaking at once, most of them having a Britannian accent.

"What the hell!"

"What was that glowing light?"

"Is that-?"

"Princess Euphemia!"

"And Zero?"

"Oh, this isn't good."

"My lord, please get back! Guards! Guards don't you dare shoot you fools! Princess Euphemia is up there with them! Capture them! Capture them!"

The ground had finally stopped shaking as everything settled. Before the four confused occupants of the recently fallen stone slab was a cave filled to the brim with Britannian guards, researchers, and lab equipment. Sutherland Knightmare Frames were just outside of the cave entrance as they looked in to see what had happened. Behind them was a strangely intricate door with carvings and occasional cracks decorating its front. It had faded blue and red markings on it, and just in the middle was the symbol of geass.

But now wasn't the time for taking in the sights, now was the time to make a run for it.

"Zero? Zero come on get up! We have to go!" Red hair and blue eyes covered his vision and helped the masked terrorist onto his feet. "There's an unattended Knightmare over there!"

"Perfect." Zero spoke sharply, and began to run towards the strangely designed Knightmare that had a bunch of huge cables plugged into it. "We'll use that as our- AHH!"

Just as he was getting a running start towards the advanced machine, his head suddenly spiked in such tortuous pain that it made his vision black out and turn white at the same time. The pain mostly residing in his left eye.

He didn't realize he had collapsed onto his knees, his hands cradling his head until Kallen was kneeling by his side. Her voice tinged with panic as she asked Zero what was wrong, but even her voice was somewhat blurred at the edges.

He didn't see the room give a bright red flash for a brief moment just as his knees hit the ground.

He didn't see the Britannian soldiers stomping their way up the stairs and blocking their path to freedom.

He only heard that strange voice that seemed to echo everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time.

"You are what I seek… What I need… Please… Help Me."

Kallen placed her hands on Zero's shoulders and shook the masked man. "Zero? Zero please answer me! What's wrong!? ZERO!?" The ace pilot's voice grew louder and more fearful for her leader as he didn't respond. He just cradled his head in silence, his gloved fingers digging into his mask. She could just barely hear his labored breathing coming through his mask out of all of the other chaotic noise.

"Halt right there terrorists! Stand down and put your hands in the air! NOW!" A line of Britannian soldiers got between them, Suzaku, and Princess Euphemia while raising their assault rifles. Kallen, thinking quickly, pulled out a small device from her back pocket and activated it. Instantly, the soldiers' helmets went haywire and a bright flash blinded the three Britannian soldiers. Taking action, the redhead lunged forward, hitting one soldier in the side of the head, kicking the second in the gut with a harsh roundhouse kick, and punched the third right in the throat before taking his assault weapon and firing a few spray bullets to keep the rest of the soldiers at bay.

It was for not however, for one soldier, no matter how skilled, could not beat an entire squadron out in the open by themself. Eventually, the soldiers surrounded the two Black Knights, forcing Kallen to move them both back up against the strangely carved wall. While there was still a wide berth of space in the form of a semicircle, it was obvious Zero and Kallen were trapped, outnumbered, and outgunned. Zero, who was just starting to regather his bearings, shakily stood up with a groan of pain escaping his lips and his left hand still clutching the left side of his mask.

Ever the loyal ace pilot and captain of the Zero Squad. Kallen stood in front of Zero bravely with her stolen assault rifle pointing it at anyone that dared to even scooch an inch closer to her charge. Sapphire eyes burning with a fierce fire and a growlish snarl leaving her lips as she yelled.

"Don't you get even an inch closer to us or I'll snipe your head clean off of your shoulders! All of you!" She warned, and even though that was a real threat she could and would dish out, she couldn't kill them all. Even then she was on her own, seeing that Zero seemed to have somehow gotten hurt during their fall into this death trap.

From behind the wall of guards Suzaku, Euphemia, Lloyd Asplund, General Bartley, and Second Prince and Prime Minister of Britannia Schneizel el Britannia watched the scene with satisfied pride and intrigue. The Eleven knight having just come out of some strange trance to finally see the masked terrorist and menace of Britannia be defeated and brought to his knees, soon to be literally.

Once Euphemia and Schneizel had properly spoken and were reunited, the blonde haired prince turned to Suzaku. "So, that really is Zero then." Schneizel stated calmly despite the loud yelling and near chaos around him. The Second Prince was still calm and serene as always.

"Yes your majesty." Suzaku bowed before his superior as he answered. "That's him, and his ace pilot in the Black Knights."

"I must say. You've certainly redeemed yourself after what happened back on Shikine Island Kururugi. Well done." Schneizel stared at the two cornered Black Knights and hummed in near curiosity.

Suzaku blinked, then dared to look up at the man in confusion. "What do you mean by that sir?"

"We'll talk about it later." The Second Prince waved him off casually before stepping forward. General Bartley's words of caution also being silenced with only a glance.

Once that was done the prince spoke to everyone, only having to slightly raise his voice to get their attention. "Alright everyone, let's settle down a bit shall we?" Like the Red Sea itself, the guards split apart to allow Schneizel to step forward from the middle of the semicircle until he could see the two Black Knights properly. "We don't need to shoot anybody just yet."

Gritting her teeth and giving a sneer towards the prince, Kallen leveled her gun towards the man. Instantly, all of the other soldiers pointed their weapons at her and Zero who was behind her. The masked man finally letting go of his mask to clench and unclench his fist slowly, his leather glove stretching at the action.

"I must admit, I have been very interested in meeting you face to face, or well, face to mask, Zero." The Second Prince chuckled at his own little joke, and ran one big hand through his short waving blonde hair before zeroing his light purple gaze on the masked man himself. "Though I never expected it to be here. Perhaps you and I can play a round of chess once we get you two situated on the Avalon."

"You mean once we become your prisoners for execution." Kallen snapped harshly. Her glare could level mountains and evaporate oceans if it got any darker. "You're not taking a step towards him or me, so back off!"

Despite the harsh words and raging aura surrounding the feisty redhead, Schneizel merely grinned lightly. "Ah. I see you've found yourself rather loyal and dare I say beautiful bodyguard, Zero." Kallen merely snorted in derision, keeping her aim steady as he continued to speak. "You can certainly pick them, though I'm surprised that a Britannian was willing to join your cause."

Kallen ground her teeth together in frustration. "I'm not Britannian! I'm Japanese dammit! Now shut up and back off before I kill you!" She shouted, vexed at this prince that was acting like an oily snake.

"Sch...neizel...?" Despite her urge to turn around and face him, Kallen kept her gaze on her enemies as Zero's modulated voice croaked out from his mask. The masked man tilted his head just slightly to look at the Prime Minister as if seeing him for the first time. "So… you're here… as well."

Said Prime Minister raised an eyebrow at Zero's words. "Did you not just hear me? I thought you would have realized who I was when I first stepped forward, for a man of your caliber at least. I am rather well known around the world."

"Be careful sir." Suzaku spoke up, having managed to push his way to the front and besides his majesty. His olive eyes stayed directly on the masked terrorist. "He's dangerous."

"I believe I can take care of myself Kururugi. Your job is to guard my sister." Schneziel said to the Eleven before looking back at the two terrorists. "Now, perhaps we can do this peacefully, negotiate so that you can turn yourselves in willingly. There is no need for anyone to die today for a fruitless fight that we both know who would win."

"Or." Kallen took the safety off of her weapon, and everyone tensed at the sound besides Schneizel and Zero. "I can kill you now and we can break out of here, and even if we don't get out we can take you down with us. Because that sounds pretty good to me."

Just as all hell was about to break loose. Zero's black gloved hand grabbed a firm hold of one of Kallen's own and pushed the gun down so it was pointing at the ground.

While the Britannians were raising an eyebrow at the development, Kallen was looking into Zero's blank mask with shocked eyes. "Zero?" She said in a hushed tone. "What are you-"

The masked man stepped forward two steps until he was the one covering Kallen from view. While no other discernible features could be seen, from the way his shoulders rocked up and down it seemed that his breathing was labored.

"... I must concede." Zero's modulated voice boomed out across the quiet that now enveloped the room. Some of the Britannian soldiers flinching back merely from the man's modulated voice. "That while a game of chess sounds nice. I must decline the offer."

"Oh. What a shame." Truly, the prince did seem disappointed at his declined offer, but he quickly moved on. "Then perhaps you would be willing to surrender? I'm sure even you can see how hopeless of a situation you and your guard are in."

Just as Schneziel was about to continue speaking Zero broke in with a small chuckle which stopped the Prime Minister in his tracks. That small chuckle soon grew in volume and became louder, until it was a loud cackle that spread through the air like electricity and raised the hairs on the backs of everyone's necks. Some of the Britannian soldier's clutched their guns so tightly you could hear the strain, while Suzaku adjusted himself into a fighting position against the laughing mad man with a mask.

Once he finally got control of his somewhat insane laughter, Zero took a deep breath and calmed himself down once more. Though an occasional chuckle still went past his lips. "Oh Schneizel. I'm afraid you don't understand, none of you do really." The masked man looked down at the ground and shook his head in mock disappointment. "The way things are right now, how we're situated here right at this very moment…" Through the thickening tension and darkening silence, Zero looked back up right into the Prime Minister's somewhat startled gaze. "... You're right where I want you to be."

After saying those words Zero began to raise his left arm, his gloved hand extended out towards the group of Britannians before him. Some of the soldiers backed away, while two others blocked the prince's body with their own. Seeing this, Suzaku quickly took action, and began to charge towards the masked man with the intent to incapacitate.

Yet, the Black King and Cold Blooded Strategist never broke eye contact.

"I have you in my grasp now." Zero spoke calmly, yet his tone couldn't be any creepier. "Now to turn the tables. I, Zero, or-" Just then, the room was once more filled with a bright reddish light, forcing Suzaku to back away. The light cutting Zero's words off like a knife to the throat, as a pain, choked gasp wheezed through him before Zero once again collapsed on to his knees while clutching his head.

The pain enveloping him instead of fading away like before, began to grow greater and greater. A strangled cry leaving the revolutionary's lips before he could smother it. As that pain grew, so did the light, which grew brighter and brighter until it was nearly white with red tingled around its edges.

The light came from none other than the mysterious carved wall behind them.

With a loud crack, the wall split in half straight down in the middle in an even, straight line. Along with it a cry so loud it would be forever burned into everyone's memories came from Zero, whose back arched at the sheer pain going through his head, his mask tilted back until he was seemingly looking at the ceiling.

The light grew before the stone wall behind them gave way, and opened like a giant gate to give way to nothing but pure white and red light. Wisps of the lights flickering through the door before vanishing like a puff of smoke in the breeze.

But that's not what he saw.

No, what Zero saw was completely different.

Instead, there was a strange creature, a being so huge that it obviously didn't belong in this world towering above him. The creature, no, alien, had its back hunched over, yet it was still scraping against the ceiling alongside its strangely formed head. Multiple tentacles with glowing cyan bulbs were gathered on the floor and walls instead of feet, and two huge appendages that looked like they belonged on a sea turtle served as its arms were on either side of the masked man. They stabbed into the ground to help keep the enormous creature upright. It's entire body and color couldn't be distinguished because it was covered in black darkness. Something that couldn't be shadows.

Two yellowish green glowing antennae were atop of its forehead, with large mandibles on each side of its surprisingly tiny mouth. Two armoured like appendages that looked similar to a hammerhead shark were on the sides of its head as well. Four glowing cyan eyes were on its head, two on each side of its face.

All four eyes were looking down straight at him.

"You are… so young. Yet I… need your help. The other… has failed… before he could… even begin… and so… You are my only… hope."

"What-" Zero croaked quietly, before he spoke louder. Forcing his voice to sound neutral even though it was still pained with a hiss. "What are you?"

"Your answers… will soon be given. But first, we need you… I need you... to help me."

"How-" Before he could finish a group of bullets fired into the group just inches from his left. It was like time had suddenly returned to his senses and threw him into the present.

"Zero!" Kallen cried out as she struggled. Together, the strange creature and masked man snapped their gaze over to the group of Britannian soldiers that were beginning to march forward towards him. The soldiers were all quaking in their boots at the supernatural phenomenon occurring before them, but they continued to trudge on to their objective. Prince Schneizel, Euphemia, Suzaku, Lloyd, Ceclie and General Bartley were all being escorted to the front of the cave and away from danger. Though Schneziel and Llyod Asplund were looking at this strange occurrence with awed wonder. The others were looking on in terror. Suzaku's own gaze was directed at Zero with an expression as if he was looking at a real demon. A few foot soldiers already had grabbed a hold of Kallen, forcefully disarming her while he was distracted with this strange alien creature crying out for help.

None of them could see the huge creature towering in front of Zero, only the strange reddish white light.

Zero himself saw red at the sight before him and at being interrupted in his conversation with something so… ethereal. "Disappear." His modulated voice ordered darkly.

Then everything went dark and blurry after that. The creature was still there above him, trying to speak to him, though he could no longer understand what it was trying to say. After realizing this, the darkened creature turned as much of its body as it could in this cramped space to look at the Britannians, and gave out a shrill shriek.

As suddenly as the white light had come, it suddenly turned a dark, enraged red. Multiple appendages of the light lunged out from the doorway and onto the unsuspecting Britannian soldiers. With terrified screams, many were wrapped up into the light's embrace while others shot at them with their assault rifles. The bullets did nothing, and everyone watched as the captured men were dragged away into the lit doorway kicking and screaming bloody murder.

As more appendages came from the doorway, the soldiers roughly pushed Kallen aside to fend for their own lives.

Instinct taking over, Kallen quickly backed away from the sight on her hands and knees until she risked falling off of the stone slab. Her sapphire gaze watching in horror as the soldiers once gathered together to make a strong force were taken apart and vanished in an instant. Those that tried to run away were easily taken into the light's grasp and vanished. Those that fought back for survival simply met the same fate. Even Knightmare Frames, the Sutherlands from before had now entered the tunnel, were cut down like a knife through butter and their pilots consumed in the light.

It was a massacre.

And it was all coming from Zero.

Then one of those appendages turned to her.

Kallen has felt fear before, hell, she's felt it a lot ever since Japan was invaded by Britannia all of those years ago. She's felt it when fighting alongside her allies and the Black Knights. But never, ever, has she been as petrified as she was now.

She was never afraid of Zero, in fact she practically worshipped the ground he walked on. She adored him and all of his hard work for Japan just like the rest of her people and the Black Knights.

Until now.

The light crept forward until it was right on top of her now. Just inches from her face and spiky red hair.

She didn't dare move, she couldn't. Kallen could only watch this strange light, it was almost like a living creature itself, it moved and swayed from side to side in front of her as if pondering in thought.

Then it turned away from her, slowly moved around her like a huge snake, and lashed out on a Britannian soldier behind her farther down in the cave.

Instantly, like a balloon that was suddenly popped by a needle, all of the fear drained out of Kallen's system as if it was never there to begin with in a short wheeze in disbelief. How could she have been so foolish? This was Zero she was talking about, and it was obvious that this strange, supernatural thing was on their side.

Almost instantly after she thought that, a strange warmth spread across her back. It was like a small bottle of the sun, it didn't burn, it was just nice and warm. Blue eyes looked down to see another appendage was carefully placed on her back, and began to nudge her forward. Though not as frightened by the light as before, Kallen was still wary of it. After a more forceful nudge that scooted her a few feet the light softly, nearly cradled, the ace pilot as it wrapped itself around her and picked her up. Just as the captain of the Zero Squad was about to struggle like the rest of the soldiers, she realized it wasn't dragging her to the door.

No, it was gently placing her down right next to Zero.

It pointed to Zero, then to her, before Zero again like a sentient creature, then took off like lightning to attack the rest of the panicking Britannians.

The masked man, after ordering the Britannians to 'disappear' had collapsed onto the floor on his right side. The left side of his cape covering his body while the right was spread out on the disturbed dusty ground. His right arm was clutching his mask again as he gave another, more rough and scratchy groan of pain that turned into an eerie howl near the end.

The urge to protect her charge whipped Kallen into shape, and she quickly grabbed a hold of her leader's shoulder in a firm grip to give a steady shake. "Zero! Zero are you alright? Where are you hurt?" No reply, not even a sound this time. "Zero! Zero please! Look at me!" Kallen gave another shake, this one a little harder. After receiving no answer again, she grabbed both of the man's shoulders and placed him on his back. One hand went to his neck to feel for a pulse while the other was squeezing the life out of his forearm. "LOOK AT ME!"

Then just like that, as if he had been sleeping instead of on the ground in pain and practically unconscious. He woke up.

Zero's vision returned to sharp clarity after hearing Kallen's scream and feeling her hands on his neck and arm. His masked head slowly looked up into Kallen's own relieved sapphire blues. Her breath came out in a relieved pant as the adrenaline in her went into overdrive. "Kallen?" He croaked, and another relieved pant that came out as a laugh went through her that sounded slightly hysterical. "What's happening?"

"What's happening? What's happening?!" Kallen repeated incredulously. She threw a hand out towards the chaos going on in the cave that had diminished greatly after most of the soldiers were gone, most certainly dead. Seeing this, Schneziel had called for all soldiers to retreat since the strange light seemed to only be attacking those with weapons. Those that were a threat. "You're what happened! Don't you remember?! You ordered them to disappear, and they vanished! They had us cornered and you just, you just…" Kallen gripped her red hair and sat back as Zero slowly got up onto his own knees with a hiss of pained effort. "I don't even know what you just did." She muttered quietly to herself, a hint of fear still in her voice. "But the soldiers that were in this cave are gone."

Hearing the fear in her voice, Zero's head quickly turned to Kallen's. His masked gaze boring into Kallen's own eyes and holding her in a near hypnotic trance. "I would never have you hurt. You know that, right? You are my Q-1."

From hearing his words, Kallen's cheeks gained a bit of red blush on them as she answered. "Of course I know, Zero."

After a moment, Zero broke their gaze to look around the cave. His demeanor went tense as the situation came bearing down on them again.

That strange creature was gone.

There were only a few small stray appendages of light left that were doing nothing but waving in the air threateningly down at the Britannians. It was no longer attacking anyone since there was no one left to attack that was a threat.

With Kallen's assistance, Zero managed to get back onto his feet with only a slight stumble.

The two opposing sides looked at each other in a standoff once more, but this time things were different. One side looking at the other in fear with hints of interest while the other was looking down in tense apprehension.

Through the thick silence, it was Suzaku that broke the standoff first. His voice shaking in obvious fright as he glared at Zero from across the cave. "What the- W-What the HELL have you done! Zero!"

Instead of answering the Eleven's question, Zero merely gave a click of his tongue before looking towards the Knightmare Frame that still had thick cables attached to it. The light never touched it since no one was piloting it, and it was still active. Together, the two Black Knights began to make their way towards it. Kallen wrapping one of Zero's arms around her shoulders to help him walk.

After being ignored, Suzaku's fear turned into rage. In an impulsive move, Suzaku broke off from Euphemia and the rest to run at Zero with an enraged yell. "ZERO!"

A mistake that would change everything.

Like vipers, the light struck down on Suzaku Kururugi, lifting him off of the ground by his feet and into the air.

"Suzaku!" Euphemia screamed before it turned into a wail of terror and sorrow for her knight. The princess attempted to go after him, but was held back by her older step brother and General Bartley.

"My devicer!" Even Llyod Asplund had to be held back by his assistance after he yelled. "Come back here! You're an important component to the Lancelot Kururugi!"

Despite his fear of the light, most certainly planning to take him away like the others, Suzaku fought against it and kept his gaze on Zero. The two Black Knights having stopped to watch the sudden turn of events unfold.

"Zero! Make this stop right now!" Suzaku demanded as he struggled. The light threw him into the air and spun him around for a moment before catching him again, this time he was upright. "Stop this before you get others killed!"

The angry red light pointed its small wisps of light at the Eleven, their points all sharpening like knives, before they striked.

"SUZAKU! Please don't die!" Euphemia screams echoed throughout the cave.

Like a wish that had been answered, the light stopped dead in its tracks. Suzaku's eyes were pinpricks as the strange red appendages were mere centimeters from taking his eye out. Being wise for once, the Eleven pilot kept his mouth shut as he waited to see what would become of his fate.

What he didn't realize was that his eyes were surrounded by red rings.

As if a switch had been flipped, the angry red light slowly began to turn back into its white color with a red tinge. It dropped the knight to the ground, before all of the strange appendages vanished into the doorway.

The doorway which had begun to close again with the sound of stones scraping together against each other filling the cave and deafening any other noise.

Once he had realized what had happened, Suzaku shot up to his feet and sprinted straight at the masked demon. Kallen dropped Zero's arm to fight against the Britannian soldier. The two stuck in an equal struggle now that one wasn't practically naked and in the middle of a shower.

Despite the spectacle going on over there, what gathered Zero's attention was the doorway that was closing. As if a feel, a gut instinct was telling him to look there.

Then that strange voice spoke once again, but this time it was softer, weaker.

"Please… Help me… As I have… helped you."

"You did this." Zero whispered softly, almost to himself. But the voice could still hear it, and though he couldn't see it he could feel the alien nod its head.

"Before it closes… Please… Come closer and help me. I… We… have no one else. Only you… are our… their… only chance left now."

"..." Zero said nothing but quickly pondered on the situation. While his head was still hurting like hell and not as up to speed like a super computer as it usually was, it was still quick. It wouldn't be long now before the soldiers outside of the cave swarmed in now that the threat was leaving. Kallen could only hold Suzaku back for so long before she got overwhelmed with everything else around them.

This was their last and only chance of escaping capture. No other miracles or supernatural entities would be interfering should they screw it up again.

"I'm sorry." Zero stated simply, before turning his back on the door and about to sprint towards the Knightmare Frame again.

In that moment, both Kallen and Suzaku caught onto Zero's words. The man seemingly having a completely different conversation to himself. The Guren Mk. II pilot glancing over her shoulder to look at her leader in concern. Taking advantage of that, Suzaku grabbed a hold of her arm and threw her over his shoulder and onto the ground, knocking the wind out of her. With this golden opportunity open, Suzaku took it with pleasure and ran towards Zero.

The young Eleven tackled the masked messiah, and with a sharp gasp that turned into a scream of surprised shock, the two went tumbling straight into the light of the slowly closing doors.

"ZERO!" Kallen screamed in pure horror and she stood up, her hands flying up to her mouth as she screamed. "ZERO!" Kallen called out again, searching for any sign, any hint of her leader emerging from the doors, from the light, but there was nothing. The redhead turned to the front of the cave, watching as it began to fill with the other soldiers scattered on the island.

Their chance of escape was gone.

Gritting her teeth, Kallen turned back to the doorway and waited for Zero. He and Suzaku falling through the doorway fighting for all they were worth.

Zero couldn't come back because Suzaku was stopping him, fighting him.

Zero needed her help.

He needed her.

And she would fight for him, just like she always has.

With a vicious scowl and a deep breath, Kallen sprinted towards the door herself. Despite the calls of the Britannian soldiers ordering her to stop. Despite Euphemia's cries for Suzaku. Despite knowing that going through that doorway almost certainly meant an instant death. She ran with all of her might, and jumped with a war cry.

The Black Knight ace and captain of the Zero Squad jumped head first into the light. Following her leader, her king, whether it be through heaven or hell, through thick or thin. She ran through and followed Zero to help him fight against the fool who stood in their way since the very beginning. To fight against Suzaku Kururugi even though they once saved him from an unjust trial and execution.

She leaped.

The doorway closed right after her.

Once Zero and Suzaku went tumbling into the light everything went white with hints of red, yet they still continued to grip onto each other and fight. Spinning and turning in the air in a fight for control.

In the back of his mind, that voice once again spoke in Zero's head. Sounding more alive than ever before and so close, he could finally identify the tone of the voice belonging to a female.

"Thank you… For coming to help us… Even if… you didn't want to."

Then the light was gone, and a clear blue sky with occasional clouds appeared above them. Suzaku's enraged face right in front of his, both of his hands wrapped around Zero's neck, trying to choke him. The hate in his eyes clear as the sky behind him. Zero's gloved hands grabbed ahold of the stronger Eleven's arms, trying to stop him from choking the air out of his lungs.

Then all of a sudden, Suzaku's face changed from one of hate and anger, to one of shocked confusion. His final expression turned into one of fear. The same expression could be mirrored by Zero's own as he watched the Eleven's clothes change before his eyes.

His white pilot suit for the Lancelot stayed the same, but it became more bulky, as if the suit suddenly gained armor in its fabric. The places where he had gained armor, which was on his chest, back, arms, and legs, were a polished, shiny white while the fabric of his suit was mostly white as well with yellow highlights on his arms and legs. On the pieces of Suzaku's newfound armor, there would be an occasional flash of green light that was transparent and barely noticeable. Though his armor didn't cover his joints, hands, feet, or neck.

A giant white tank with yellow highlights that had a huge 'O2' sign on it seemed to appear pixel by pixel before the masked revolutionary's eyes. Combat boots that went with the suit changed into black fins with a white edge, while his white gloves turned into ones with webbed fingers. What changed the most though, was that a helmet was suddenly wrapping around the knight's face. It was mostly white with yellow painted on the sides of his head. A mouthpiece that was somehow connected to the oxygen tank was inside the helmet and wrapped around Suzaku's mouth and nose. The rest of his face was blocked by a thick pane of glass that was tinted green.

It reminded him of the Lancelot, but it lacked the strange spike on the back of the Knightmare Frame's head.

It also looked like he was about to go scuba diving.

From the way Suzaku had stopped strangling him to stare down at himself, Zero could say the same thing had happened to him.

That's when he realized they were still falling, the wind whipping across them and nearly tossing them apart if it weren't for his grip still on the knight. Zero would have taken advantage of the knight's stupor if he hadn't chanced another glance at the sky.

What he saw floored him in his tracks, because he was pretty sure there wasn't a giant red planet revolving around Earth alongside the sun during the day and the moon at night.

That's when his back crashed against the surface, the sound of it smacking was loud and it felt like his back was broken into two and lit on fire at the same time. Even Suzaku cringed at the sound, who took no damage due to Zero's taking the brunt of the blow. The air was pushed out of his lungs in a rush, and barely any of it was brought back in with a wheezy squeak of his lips.

Water rushed around them both and filled his vision.

Suddenly, Zero realized he wasn't on Earth anymore.

So, that's it for the first chapter. Does it sound interesting so far? I hope so. This fic will revolve around Kallen, Lelouch, and Suzaku with the trio having to depend on each other to survive in this strange world.

Let the story begin. Hehehehe…
