I do not own any Inuyasha characters. Short and sweet, hope you like. A little look in to the future.

Sesshomaru tensed as another pained scream echoed down the hall. He saw the young man beside him tense as well. He was anxious. They both were.

They had been ready for this for months, so they had thought. Now they were not so sure. He glanced at the young man to his right. The man put up a brave front but Sesshomaru could sense he was frightened. He knew the man well enough to see the tell-tell signs etched on his face.

Sesshomaru briefly wished there was something he could do to ease the man's anxiety. Over the past few years they had fought side by side several times and the boy had managed to worm his way into Sesshomaru's heart. He loved him like a son, though he would never say so.

But there was nothing that could be done. After all they had been through together, all the battles with both humans and youkai, they had never found them selves in such a frightening situation. And there was nothing they could do now but wait.

So they waited, anxiously. Neither knowing what to expect next. It must have been hours. It seemed like days. And all they could do was listen to the crying and screaming down the hall.

The crying and screaming stopped. Both of the men held their breath. Then a shrill high noise penetrated the air. The sound assulted Sesshomaru's sensitive dog ears causing him to flinch just slightly.

As if out of no where a female youkai appeared. She approached them slowly. She grinned, her teeth seeming to glitter in the pale light. She stopped before the young human warrior.

"A girl."

The young man could no longer control him self. He darted past the female down the hall where he knew Rin lay. The youkai watched him and chuckled then turned to Sesshomaru.

"Congradulations my lord, You are officially a grand father. Rin and the child are both well, you may see them if you please." The youkai turned and led the proud lord down the hall to the room where his daughter lay with her young husband sitting beside her futon and the beautiful newborn in her arms.

the end.
