Chapter 461: Davis Enterprise
Tuesday, February 14th, Afternoon
There was a knock on the doorjamb, and she looked up from her work. The brunette canted her head to look at her assistant. The younger woman seemed nervous.
"Yes, Jacinth?" Trin asked.
"Ms. Cohen asks if you have a minute," Jacinth said.
"Always," Trin said, "Show her in and close the door."
"Yes, Ms. Adams," Jacinth said and stepped aside. Sabrina Cohen strode into the room, stylish in a power suit and short red hair on a mission. Trin always thought Sabrina could be intense, intimidating, and someone you never showed your back. Trin always believed in what Oscar Wilde said, "A good friend will always stab you in the front." Sabrina would just stab you.
Trin stood up, "Sabrina," she said as the door closed.
"Trin," Sabrina said, "May I sit down?"
"Of course," Trin said, as the woman sat down, "Do you need anything to drink?"
"No, I'm good," Sabrina said.
"Alright, straight to business," Trin said as she sat back down in her desk chair.
"So, have you headed over to check the venue for the Banríon show?" Sabrina asked.
"I had a few things to finish up here, then I was going to head over with Jacinth for the rest of the day," Trin said.
"We got to get this right and keep Bobbi from freaking out," Sabrina said.
"Hopefully, my mom will keep her calm and away from the booze until I get there," Trin said.
Sabrina nodded, "Yeah, DZ did a number on her," she said.
"It's been eleven years," Trin said.
Sabrina nodded, "Has she dated since?" she asked.
"I believe few dates, but nothing serious," Trin said.
"She seemed to double down enough for Brooke to have enough confidence to give her own line," Sabrina said.
"I think Bobbi is also happy being a cat mom," Trin said.
"She's also been a busy aunt, from what Brooke tells me," Sabrina said.
"Bobbi is close to her niece Brett, especially recently; if Brett didn't have basketball, she would be walking tomorrow," Trin said.
"So, you're going to make sure everything is set and calm Bobbi down," Sabrina said.
"Yes, I am," Trin said.
Sabrina nodded, "Good, should I expect to see you and Jacinth back here?" she asked.
"No, there's going to be a lot to get done and throw in calming Bobbi. I'll be leaving from there," Trin said.
"Okay," Sabrina said.
Trin nodded, "Anything else?" she asked.
"A few other things," Sabrina said.
Trin looked at Sabrina, "Go ahead," she said.
"What is Fallon up to?" Sabrina asked.
Trin canted her head, "In what way?" she asked.
Sabrina sighed, "I got an email from my godson last night. He requested some stuff for his girlfriend for something his mother is throwing. She isn't on the same socio-economic level based on how he's talking. I'm going to this same cocktail party," she said.
"Sounds pretty normal, so how does Fallon factor into this?" Trin asked.
"My godson sent me a list of items, sizes, including a name and address to send it to," Sabrina said.
"Again, I'm missing the connection here," Trin said.
"The address was the Stafford Foundation care of one Fallon Adams. Also, the measurements of my godson's new girlfriend are the same as Fallon Stafford," Sabrina said.
"So, you're saying Fallon is doing this to your godson?" Trin asked.
"Yes," Sabrina said.
Trin nodded, "It sounds like the games Fallon plays," Trin said.
"She's done this before?" Sabrina asked.
"Not to the extent as this type seems," Trin said.
"Why would she do this?" Sabrina asked.
"Do you know what age Fallon became a billionaire?" Trin asked.
"No, how old?" Sabrina asked.
"Sixteen, after her dad was murdered. Fallon's never had the confidence to put herself out there and judge people if they were with her for her," Trin said.
"She knows what she's doing isn't right," Sabrina said.
"We've told her, and we tell her what you're saying," Trin said.
Sabrina nodded, "Maybe, I'm enabling her," she said.
"What did you do?" Trin asked.
"I sent and billed the stuff," Sabrina said.
Trin nodded, "We have to be careful around Fallon, as well," she said.
"I know, I know, Fallon can walk in here and put several bricks of money down; it's all over; she'll own it all," Sabrina said.
"She'd probably never do that, but she's capable of doing it, and that's enough," Trin said.
"It's been alluded to that there are family connections," Sabrina said.
"You don't know?" Trin asked.
"That there is but not specifics," Sabrina said.
"Fallon's mom was the face of the company for a few years. My mom was engaged to her dad before he was murdered. Finally, Brooke took her in after he was murdered," Trin said.
"Oh," Sabrina said, "Keni?"
"Her too, Fallon and my sister," Trin said, "Before you ask, Keni's mom is my mom, and her dad is Fallon's dad."
Sabrina nodded, "So, will you be available on the phone tonight?" she asked.
"I'm going out after work," Trin said.
"Who's watching Wyatt?" Sabrina asked.
"My neighbor," Trin said.
"So, why are you out tonight?" Sabrina asked.
"It's Valentine's Day," Trin said.
"Oh!" Sabrina said.
Trin shook her head, "It's nothing that romantic," she said.
"Than what is it?" Sabrina asked.
"An exercise in scratching an itch," Trin said.
"Well, I don't know what to say," Sabrina said.
Trin shrugged, "It's me just being human," she said.
Sabrina nodded, "Well, enjoy being human, and be safe, so there isn't another Wyatt," she said.
"I'm not planning on adding to my family," Trin said.
Sabrina stood up and looked at Trin. "That's good to hear. Please, hurry up and get over to the venue to make sure we're all sorted out," she said.
"I will, Sabrina," Trin said.
"Good," Sabrina said and left Trin's office.
