Chapter 468: Beaulieu Manor
Tuesday, February 14th, Evening
Once they got home, they headed right to their rooms and changed into comfortable clothes. After they changed, they went downstairs; one went to the media room to start setting up for tonight. The other went to the kitchen and talked with the staff in the kitchen.
With these tasks done, Sawyer walked to the front door and let LK in. The two girls went up to the media room to find Keni, Nomi, and Ellis in the room. Keni had three moves set up to play and, with Nomi's help, was bringing out the beanbag chairs and blankets.
"Is the food set?" Keni asked.
"Yes, they will send it up soon," Sawyer said.
"Jalapeno poppers?" Nomi asked.
"Yes, but you only get a few," Sawyer said.
"Why?" Nomi asked.
"Because it gives you heartburn," Lucas said from the doorway of the media room.
"Grandpa," Nomi said.
"Dad," Sawyer said.
"Uncle Lucas," Keni said.
LK turned to see Lucas in the doorway. "Uncle Lucas," she said.
Sawyer looked to see Ellis hiding under the blankets. She smiled and turned back to her dad. "So, what's up, Dad?" Sawyer asked.
"Just checking on what's going on?" Lucas asked.
"Just setting up for my Anti-Valentine's Day Party," Sawyer said.
Lucas nodded, "So, what's the theme this year?" he asked.
"Kevin Williamson," Keni said.
"Ah, the classics," Lucas said.
"So, Dad, are you going to hide?" Sawyer asked.
"I thought you were starting since Gareth is grounded," Lucas said.
"Well, someone is coming over," Sawyer said.
"Oh yeah?" Lucas asked, "Who?"
"Alesha Gregg from the cheer squad," Sawyer said.
"Okay, she's a nice girl," Lucas said.
Sawyer nodded, "She seems to be," she said.
"Okay, I'm going to be in my office if you need me," Lucas said.
"Okay," the girls said.
Lucas left, and Sawyer turned to see Keni settling into a beanbag chair with the remote. Ellis was still hiding under the blankets. LK had found herself in her usual area with a beanbag chair. Nomi found herself a comfortable spot and pulled a blanket over herself.
Sawyer headed to the beanbag chair next to Keni. The kitchen staff came up with the food and put out the spread, along with an iced bucket of drinks. Once the staff left, Nomi jumped up and made herself a plate. Sawyer looked over to Nomi.
"Go easy with the poppers," Sawyer said.
"Ah! Sawyer," Nomi said.
"Nomi!" Sawyer said.
"Okay," Nomi said, finished making her plate, and returned to her seat.
Eventually, Keni put the remote down and headed over to the food. Sawyer leaned back in her beanbag chair. After a few minutes, the media room door opened, and the gallery light was blacked out. Sawyer stood up and turned to see the butler, aka Lurch, standing in the doorway.
"A Ms. Gregg for you, Ms. Scott, and Ms. Stafford," Lurch said.
"Thank you," Sawyer said as Lurch showed Alesha into the media room.
"This place is amazing," Alesha said.
"Thanks, it's Keni's mom's," Sawyer said.
"How did this go down?" Alesha asked.
"What goes down? The party or house?" Sawyer asked.
"The party," Alesha said.
"Keni?" Sawyer asked.
"Grab some food, get comfortable, watch some movies, maybe dance o some music," Keni said.
"What movie?" Alesha asked.
"Movies," Keni said.
"Okay, movies, what movies?" Alesha asked.
"The original Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and The Faculty," Keni said, "Very Kevin Williamson."
"Okay," Alesha said.
Sawyer shrugged, "Don't be shy," she said and went to make herself a plate.
Alesha looked around, "Sit anywhere?" she asked.
"The beanbag next to Keni is mine," Sawyer said.
"Also, watch out for the blankets," Keni said.
"Why?" Alesha asked as she started making herself a plate, "And what's with the butler dude?"
"That's Lurch; he's harmless," Keni said.
"Our nephew Ellis is hiding under the blankets," Sawyer said.
"You're letting him do that?" Alesha asked.
"He's harmless; it's a game we play," Sawyer said.
"Our nephew?" Alesha asked, confused.
"You know my brother is married to Keni's sister, right?" Sawyer asked.
"I think you mentioned it," Alesha said.
"Well, their younger child is Ellis," Sawyer said, "The young brunette over there is our niece Nomi."
Nomi raised her hand and waved to Alesha. Alesha waved back and went back to making her plate. "Nomi?" Alesha asked in a whisper.
"A nickname, her name is Naomi," Sawyer said softly.
Alesha nodded. Sawyer finished her plate, grabbed a bottle from the tub, and took her seatback. Sawyer got comfortable and started to nibble on what was on her plate.
Nomi got up and started to head over to the food. Sawyer watched her for a moment.
"Nomi," Sawyer said.
"Yes," Nomi said.
"No, more poppers for you. You've already had enough," Sawyer said.
"Sawyer!" Nomi said.
"I don't want to hear from my dad about your heartburn," Sawyer said.
"Fine!" Nomi said.
Alesha finished making up her plate and took a seat. She looked around and noticed that they were waiting. Finally, Nomi returned to her seat.
"So, what movie are we watching first?" Alesha asked.
"Scream, we're watching them in order," Keni said.
"Okay," Alesha said.
"Are we set, Nomi?" Sawyer asked.
"Yes, Sawyer," Nomi said.
"Here we go," Sawyer said.
Keni smiled, picked up the remote, and pointed it at the TV. The movie started as the crowd got comfortable. Alesha got settled and started eating the food from her plate.
