"Is that true?" Chris kept questioning his brother.

"Let's introduce you properly, shall we?" said Wyatt not taking his eyes off Chris. "He was Sam's ex-boyfriend who beat the shit out of her so bad, he actually caused her to miscarriage his own kid. She was so afraid of him, she got a restriction order and moved to San Francisco. Thanks for that though" Danny smiled in annoyance since his comment hadn't bothered the power couple as he had hoped for. "Nonetheless, that wasn't enough, so he followed her here and kicked the life out of her and our first child as well"

"Wyatt, regardless of what he did…"

"Switch places with me for a second before you complete that sentence" Bianca squeezed Chris' hand under the table. This was not the place to discuss such a delicate issue.

"May I take your order?" said the waiter, smiling as he arrived at the table, now the whole party had arrived. Throats cleared all around. "Do you need a minute?" he understood he had accidentally walked in on something relevant. Wyatt nodded and the waiter walked away with the same smile.

"It's such a beautiful day" said Bianca in a desperate attempt to pull them back to common ground.

"You're right" Sam decided to play along. "Maybe a little windy, but I can take care of that" she aerocontrolled the current to blow above their heads and away from their would be-pleasant day out.

"Isn't that a little unfair for the rest of them?" Chris asked her now, biting angrily into a bread stick, noticing how his hair wasn't bothered by the wind all of a sudden, annoyed as hell he hadn't gotten a straight answer from his brother. He agreed with Bianca. This was not the place to discuss something like that, but then again where would that even be?

"A little, but they'll live" she held onto Wyatt's hand firmly.

"That's besides the point…" Bianca squeezed Chris' hand yet again. He took another angry bite off the bread stick, unable to even swallow at the moment. He kept chewing so hard his jaw started to hurt, food swaying from one side to the other inside his mouth.

"Well, I'm starving. Let's call the waiter back" Bianca raised her hand, making eye contact with the waiter who now carried a jug of water to the next table.

"I think I'll order the club sandwich. Honey?" Sam decided.

"Sounds good" Sam and Wyatt were eerily unbothered by the fact the spirits were standing right behind them, that his younger brother had discovered his dirty secret or that Sam was controlling the wind away from them in the background. "And you guys?"

"I'll have… the pasta. Chris?" he kept staring at his big brother, who held his stare just fine as he sipped on the tea Chris had ordered upon arrival. "Chris" Bianca called him out.

"I'll just have what they have" he answered trying to divert his eyes from his brother and onto Sam's. He discreetly rolled his eyes in a talk-to-your-sister kinda way, since he didn't believe he could talk any kind of sense into his own brother at the moment, let alone with this new piece of nasty information.

The waiter was on his way to serve some water on the next table when suddenly he seemed to trip, making the pitcher tilt sideways. Sam held the water in as the waiter nervously straightened up the pitcher.

"Help some, punish others, that it?" asked Chris reprovingly, eyeing Danny for just a second, but their attention wasn't on him, but on the very reason the waiter tripped in the first place; on the opposite table, where a foot was being visibly drawn back under the tablecloth and a trio of young men laughed hysterically at the waiter's misadventure. Wyatt made to scratch his nose, and in the process orbed the young man's pants up a tree not far behind them, chuckling himself as he took another sip of tea.

"Well done" Sam approved, kissing his cheek.

"I stand corrected" said Chris sarcastically as the young man figured why he had gotten so chilly all of a sudden and turned brick red, looking left and right trying to make heads or tails of what just happened.

"You need to lighten up, little brother. All he has to do is get up and go get them from the tree"

"We don't choose who we get even with"

"Why not?" Wyatt asked defiantly.

"You used to know the answer to that"

"I still do. I just don't know if I agree with it anymore" he hugged Sam closer. "I mean… mom and the aunts' stories are filled with such little mishaps. Why is it such a sin when we do it?"

"Fair enough" said Bianca trying to break the rising tension yet again, squeezing Chris' hand harder and harder, going for a kiss on the cheek, only to whisper…

"Simmer down"

"If you find us this reckless, why did you even invite us?"

"Those guys were only horsing around, Sam"

"So are we… only better" she smiled.

"Gotta love the humiliation on his face" Danny was laughing hysterically. "I bet he couldn't get any redder"

"I guess we'll find out when he finally decides to get up and leave" said Edward mortified.

"Gotta hand it to you two, that was funny as hell" Danny approved and kept laughing.

"Well, aren't you a peach?"

"No, darling. You are" Danny blew a kiss at Bianca.

"Watch it" warned Chris.

"Or what? I think your brother there already beat you to it" he twisted the knife, enjoying the pain he caused.

"Remember when we were kids?" Edward called for his sister's attention, diverting the focus off Danny. "How those little kids used to bully me?"

"Your point being?"

"How you stood by my side and they eventually left me alone? You wouldn't have orbed their clothes away or anything of the sort because you would have thought that was the wrong thing to do, however funny"

"I couldn't have done anything of the sort back then anyway. There's a difference" she shot back. "Or believe me I would certainly have"

"Still, you could have hit them or threaten them, but you didn't. You simply protected me"

"You're right" Sam said with a grimace. "But wanna know what else I remember?" she stared into her brother's eyes. "I remember having to be restrained by two of the caretakers as they took you away one day… I remember how you cried your eyes out as they walked you out…I remember being locked in… in what you can only call a cell… for days, because I would keep trying to punch my way out of there to find you…"

"Sam…"

"I also remember the lashes I got for not calming down on command… I remember screaming myself to sleep out of impotence" her eyes started to water. Wyatt held on to her, caressing her arms.

"Standing by and protecting can only get you so far. Sometimes, you need to up your game"

"And do what exactly?" asked Chris now.

"Whatever it takes to make sure that what happened to him won't happen to you" Sam answered.

"No matter the cost?"

'How much would you be willing to do to stop me from blowing Bianca to pieces this very second?" asked Wyatt.

"That's not funny"

"I'm not trying to be" Chris gulped. Maybe he had pushed him too far.

"He's trying to prove a point" said Bianca in his defense to Chris' disbelief.

"Oh, don't take the fun outta the game, doll. Let's call a spade a spade" Sam pulled out the little jar with herbs and chanted, having had enough.

Restless spirit, I cast thee, out of this world and into this.

Both spirits were sucked into the jar which she closed immediately after.

"Your brother won't appreciate that" said Bianca.

"He'll live… well, you know" Sam said still wiping the angry tears away.

"Are you ok?" Sam nodded and smiled. "I think we better go home. Clearly, this was a bad idea… Sorry" Wyatt caressed her cheek where her rogue tears had left a faint mark of bitter memories. He had wanted so bad for this to go well, even against his better judgement. They both got up, leaving some cash on the table and walking away through the side. They orbed away as soon as they reached the trees.

"Well, that was enlightening" said Chris, his head on his hands.

"Chris, today was all about getting back on their good side, you needed to just… play along"

"Play along? He killed that son of a…"

"I know, but…" Bianca chose her words well now. "I'm not sure I can hold it against him"

"What?" Chris said taken aback.

"It was the wrong thing to do, but…"

"There's no wiggle room for buts"

"You mean to tell me, you wouldn't have even considered doing the same if it had been us?"

"Consider it, yes. Even tried to, absolutely, but… but…"

"But you can't honestly tell me you wouldn't have done so yourself, can you?" Chris couldn't really give an honest answer to that, so he chose to say the wrong thing.

"Maybe we understand this a little too differently" Bianca was offended to say the least. After all she had changed for him, he still saw to her darker side.

"Maybe we do" Bianca got up to leave. "Maybe you have no idea how different we are, if you can't even admit you might be wrong about this"

"We were raised for good…"

"And I guess I wouldn't understand that, because I wasn't, right?"

"It's not that, Bianca. It's…"

"Let me guess, the greater good?" Chris didn't want to make it worse and wasn't sure what to say. "If you can't see the ones who love you are part of that greater good you defend so much, then you're right. We will never understand things the same way"

"Bianca…" she stormed away pretty much like her brother had and shimmered away not far from the table. Today had gone all kinds of wrong. He had found out his brother had blood on his hands, hadn't gotten any closer to him and Sam and even ended up in bad terms with his girlfriend. Definitely, not a good day for Chris.

AT WYATT AND SAM'S…

Almost as soon as they had orbed back, Danny and Edward managed to break out of the jar.

"Figured out it wasn't sealed, did you?" Sam mocked them.

"That wasn't funny" said Edward.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't precisely in the best place to cast a spell"

"Then why did you?"

"Because I had enough of him"

"I still don't understand what's he doing here" said Wyatt.

"I don't think he was conjured up on purpose" Edward reassured them. Danny wasn't too eager to go back in the jar so he used every bit of self-control he possessed to keep his mouth shut.

"That's irrelevant" Wyatt retorted. "Why would magic send him here even if it was a spell backfiring?"

"OK. I've had enough of you" whispered Sam, her eyes down.

"What?" Edward said hurt.

"I'm sorry, but I can't do this right now. We've got other matters to worry about"

"And I'm in the way of that, how?"

"You're dead! Nothing's bringing you back no matter what I do or don't do!"

"It's not only about what you do. It's about doing what's right for everyone not just our family"

"That's what we're trying to do!"

"Then why?" Edward shouted. "Why would they send us here, huh?" she looked up.

"I… don't know!" Sam had tears in her eyes again as her words spat out of her drenched in anger and sorrow. Wyatt stood behind her, placing his hands on her shoulders. She reached to meet them, looking away from her brother.

"We can't deny other than good things are going on at the moment… we'll even admit we are fully aware of some of them" confessed Wyatt thinking it would help in the process of getting these two back to whence they came from. "But we promise you, evil is not in our hearts"

"Everything we do… or choose to ignore, will be done for the greater good"

"That's been our task all along, hasn't it?"

"I guess it has" said Ed unable to stop feeling disappointed in her sister.

"Just because things are not done exactly as you expected them to get done, doesn't make it the wrong thing"

"It's precisely because of people like him" added Wyatt holding on to her "That we realized… to see any real change, we need to be the ones to start it" Edward stared into her sister's watery eyes and vanished in bright lights, so did Danny back to his damnation.
