Chapter 480: TRIC
Tuesday, February 14th, Late Evening
(Song lyrics in italics)
There's a small area in the club; the staff even called this space Huck's spot. It was an odd place where the sound would be deadened. Huck would often find his way there and lean against the wall. The staff often believed he did it to be in his head.
Chase crossed the dance floor and could see Huck standing there. Huck was trying to look inconspicuous, but he was so big and broad he stood out. The ginger hair didn't help either.
As she walked over to him, Chase smiled. Once she stood in front of him, she wrapped her arms around his neck. Huck easily had eight inches on Chase, so her head barely reached his chin. Chase's eye sparkled as she looked up at him.
Josie's on a vacation far away
Come around and talk it over
So many things that I want to say
You know I like my girls a little bit older
I just want to use your love tonight
I don't want to lose your love tonight
"Wouldn't the people get nervous without you on your perch?" Huck asked playfully.
Chase looked around the room, then back at Huck. "They are well lubricated; good music is playing, so they won't notice I'm gone," she said.
"Oh yeah?" Huck asked.
"Yeah, one of the many lessons Peyton taught me," Chase said.
"What else did Peyton teach you?" Huck asked.
"If you can get away with it, take your husband to your office and put a smile on his face," Chase said.
"Oh yeah?" Huck asked.
"Yeah," Chase said, her raspy voice becoming more seductive.
"Would this be desk or chair?" Huck asked.
"Yes," Chase purred.
"What did I do to deserve a wife like you?" Huck asked.
"You saved my life," Chase said.
"Oh yeah?" Huck asked.
"Yeah," Chase said in a seductive whisper.
Huck leaned down and kissed Chase. She pulled him closer, and he rested his hand on her hips, pulling her closer. Chase felt the heat of his body as she rubbed up closer to him. Their kiss deepened.
I ain't got many friends left to talk to
Nowhere to run when I'm in trouble
You know I'd do anything for you
Stay the night but keep it under cover
I just want to use your love tonight
I don't want to lose your love tonight
"Do you want another child?" Huck teased.
"No, five is enough," Chase said.
"Oh darn," Huck said.
"Anyway, we made sure that won't happen again," Chase said.
"True," Huck said.
"Well, we could still practice making another child," Chase said.
"That we could," Huck said.
"So, do you want to see my office?" Chase asked.
Huck nodded, "Un-huh," he said.
Chase slipped her hands off Huck's neck. She rested her hands on his shoulders, then slowly slid her hands down his arms to his hands, then suddenly she moved both hands to one of his. Chase gripped Huck's hand and wrist tightly and tried to pull him.
Huck held firm and, after a moment, gently pulled back on Chase. His strength overpowered hers, and she came back to him. Chase spun around and ended up with her back against his chest. Huck wrapped his arms around her tightly.
I ain't got many friends left to talk to
Nowhere to run when I'm in trouble
You know I'd do anything for you
Stay the night but keep it under cover
I just want to use your love tonight
I don't want to lose your love tonight
Chase looked up at Huck. "I thought you wanted to go up to my office," she said.
Huck leaned down and rested his lips next to Chase's ear. "I do," he said.
"So, why don't we go?" Chase asked.
"I want to do something first," Huck said.
"What's that?" Chase asked.
Huck smiled, "I want to dance," he said.
"Oh really?" Chase asked.
"Yes," Huck said.
"You don't like to dance," Chase said.
"But I want to dance tonight," Huck said.
"Okay," Chase said.
I ain't got many friends left to talk to
Nowhere to run when I'm in trouble
You know I'd do anything for you
Stay the night but keep it under cover
I just want to use your love tonight
I don't want to lose your love tonight
Huck nodded and loosened his grip on Chase; she smiled and took hold of Huck's hand. Chase slowly pulled Huck onto the dance floor.
On the dance floor, Chase rested her hands on the back of Huck's neck. Huck rested his hands on Chase's hips; they slowly danced. Their bodies moved together to the music that filled their space and their ears.
I was scared of dentists and the dark
I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations
Oh, all my friends are turning green
You're the magician's assistant in their dream
Ah-ooh-ooh-ooh, ah-ahh-ah-ah
And they come unstuck
Eventually, Chase got close to Huck. Chase rested her head against Huck's chest; her ear pressed up hard to his breast bone. Focusing her mind, Chase chooses to listen to Huck's heart.
Chase smiled, relaxed in Huck's arms, and the beating of his heart. She closed her eyes sighed as she felt Huck's hands slide off her hips and rested them on her bottom.
Once the song finished, Chase lingered with her head resting on Huck's chest. She also pressed her bottom against Huck's grip. After one final sigh. Chase removed her head from his chest. They locked eyes again.
"Your hands feel great," Chase purred.
"You feel great," Huck said.
"Do you want to take this up to my office?" Chase asked.
Huck bit his bottom lip and nodded. Chase smiled, twisted, regretfully breaking Huck's grip, and grabbed his hand. Chase pulled on Huck's arm, and this time he moved. Chase moved across the floor to a door marked staff only.
Lady, running down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man
I love you when you're singing that song
And I got a lump in my throat
'Cause you're gonna sing the words wrong
There's this movie that I think you'll like
This guy decides to quit his job and heads to New York City
This cowboy's running from himself
And she's been living on the highest shelf
Ah-ooh-ooh-ooh, ah-ahh-oh
And they come unstuck
Chase opened the door and led Huck through it. They went up a small flight of stairs to find a few doors. Chase paused in front of one to unlock it. Once she did, she led Huck in and closed the door behind them.
Lady, running down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man
I love you when you're singing that song
And I got a lump in my throat
'Cause you're gonna sing the words wrong
I just wanna, I just wanna know
If you're gonna, if you're gonna stay
I just gotta, I just gotta know
I can't have it, I can't have it any other way
Unlike the office Peyton maintained, Chase's office was modest. There was barely room for two chairs, a few filing cabinets, a love seat against a wall, a simple metal desk, and a bookcase. Behind the desk was a small window with one-way glass in the frame.
Chase dropped Huck's hand and slowly walked over to her desk. With a nod, Chase turned on a small desk lamp, giving the room a faint glow. The married couple looked each other over in the pale glow of the single light bulb.
I swear she's destined for the screen
Closest thing to Michelle Pfeiffer that you've ever seen, oh
Lady, running down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man
I love you when you're singing that song
And I got a lump in my throat
'Cause you're gonna sing the words wrong
Oh lady, running down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man
I love you when you're singing that song
And I got a lump in my throat
'Cause you're gonna sing the words wrong
"So, you brought me up here," Huck said.
"Yes, I have," Chase said.
"Why?" Huck asked playfully.
"You know why," Chase said.
"So, are we talking, or are we, couch, desk, or chair?" Huck asked.
"Yes," Chase said.
"Really?" Huck asked.
"Yes, really," Chase said.
Huck took a few steps towards Chase. Chase opened her arms and accepted Huck. Chase pressed her hands on his broad back; she felt his big hands on hers. Their lips met, and their kiss deepened as they went on. Chase smiled under Huck's lips as she reached for the desk lamp and turned it off.
Oh lady, running down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man
I love you when you're singing that song
And I got a lump in my throat
'Cause you're gonna sing the words wrong
Yeah, I got a lump in my throat
'Cause you're gonna sing the words wrong
