Ben didn't know what to think of the two girls sitting across the table from him, mostly due to the fact that he never even met either one of them before in his life. All that he really knows was that he was related to one of them through grandma Verdona's side of the family and that the other girl is a close friend of hers.

His cousin has auburn hair tied into twin ponytails and had blue eyes. The other girl had long blond hair that reached past her waist and was also tied into twin ponytails, though the most striking feature she had was the color of her eyes. Her eyes were a beautiful scarlet red. He honestly didn't think it was possible anyone could have eyes that red before. Both of them looked to be about his age. In the blond's arms was a puppy that had orange wild fur and blue eyes and some kind of red jewel in the middle of its forehead.

To be honest, Ben didn't really want either of them here. The trip was meant for him and grandpa max to bond, not for two additions to come and ruin the fun. Ben felt a little betrayed by his grandpa, but maybe the two extra additions to the rustbucket were discussed before and he wasn't paying attention. That does happen a lot.

At least it wasn't that smarty pants Gwen.

"Um, hi my name is Nanoha," His cousin introduced a bit nervously, apparently deciding to try to be the one to break the silence, "it's nice to meet you, um..."

"Oh um, names Ben," he replied before looking at the blond sitting next to Nanoha.

"My name is Fate," she answered with a bit of a shy smile before gesturing to the puppy in her arms, "and this here is Arf." Arf let out a friendly bark in greetings.

"So what made the two of you decide to come along on both me and grandpa's road trip for the summer?" Ben asked, starting to feel a little bit more comfortable with the two.

"Well, my Mom told me that Gruncle Max was planning this and I thought it would be kind of fun to come along," Nanoha said with a smile, "I also asked Fate here to come along."

'Yeah kinda figured as much' Ben thought a bit grumpily to himself before asking, "so...where the both of you from?"

This time it was Fate who answered, "We live in Uminari City, all the way in Japan."

Ben blinked in surprise, "You two sure came a long way for this."

"Nyahaha, I guess so," Nanoha let out a nervous laugh.

"By the way Ben, why were you hanging from the tree by your underwear," Fate asked curiously, tilting her head to the side. Ben looked away, his face turning red. The fact that she asked that even without any ill-intent what-so-ever didn't help his pride, and he could have sworn that the puppy was giggling.

"The night sure is pretty tonight huh Fate-chan?" Nanoha asked as both she and Fate laid down on the grass watching as a shooting star zip past the night sky, though Nanoha could've sworn that it changed direction just before it disappeared from her view.

"Yeah," Fate said with a nod," though it's too bad that Alisa, Suzuka, and Hayate couldn't come along,"

"Yeah, but it be kind of hard to fit all of us inside the Rustbucket."

"True, also I don't think Ben would feel so comfortable having all of us here."

Fate saw Nanoha's great uncle Max, an obese elderly man with gray hair and grayish-blue eyes, exit the RV and look toward the forest where earlier Ben said he felt like going for a walk in.

"Ben's been gone a while," He said with a bit of concern.

"I'm sure he'll be fine," Fate reassured as both she and Nanoha sat upon the grass, "Arf went along with him, I'm sure she'll keep him safe if anything happens."

"I guess I just can't help but worry, though I suppose he can't get into much trouble out here," Max said as he scratched the back of his head. He then looked at the two before asking, "So how are both of you doing?"

"We're both doing good so far," Nanoha said with a smile before she turned slightly downcast, "though to be honest, I feel a little bit bad, I kind of feel like we're intruding a bit."

"What do you mean?"

"Well when Ben saw us in the RV, he didn't really look happy."

"Ah, I see," Max said as he sat down on a log near the pair, "I guess that makes sense, the both of y'all joining was a bit last minute."

Nanoha didn't say anything letting Max continue, "Though I don't think you should worry too much, I'm certain that he'll warm up to the both of you eventually. Heck, I'm sure that you and Ben would find something in common with each other." Max gave a friendly smile, which Nanoha gave one in return.

"Yeah your right, thank you Grunkle Max-sam…"

"FATE, NANOHA! We got a problem!" a woman's voice yelled out in both of the girl's heads, both Nanoha and Fate tensed as a look of concern crossed their faces

"Arf!?" was the shared thought between the two.

At the same time, the pair also noticed a large amount of smoke rising up from an area deep within the forest. Max noticed this and looked to where the girls were looking and a frown appeared on his face.

"What's happening," Fate unintentionally asked out loud.

"Looks like the start of a forest fire," Max answered, "We better let the ranger station know, probably some darn fool camper out there messing around with something he shouldn't..." Suddenly he had a look of concern, "Ben."

Both Nanoha and Fate's eyes widened and immediately hopped to their feet as Max opened an emergency kit and pulled out two fire extinguishers, one of which he gave to Nanoha, "Better take this." With that, the three of them ran off into the woods.

"Arf, what happened?!" Fate mentally asked after she and Nanoha split off from Max in order to cover more ground.

"It's hard to explain, just hurry!"

[earlier]

Ben stared at the bulky watch that latched onto his arm, the same one he found in that pod that almost crushed him and Arf just a moment ago. Though he did feel guilty as a piece of flying rock due to the crash must have hit her head, knocking her out, and didn't even notice until after he got said watch stuck to his arm. To his relief, she seems to be just fine, already waking up.

"Hey you ok Arf?" he asked. Arf let out a small groan before shaking the cobwebs out of her head. When she was done she looked up towards Ben before giving him a nod.

"Cool," Ben said with a smile before looking at the watch, bringing Arf's attention to it. The puppy tilted her head to the side in confusion as Ben tried to use a stick to try to pry the watch off his wrist. The keyword being try, the stick simply snapped in half. This resulted in Ben groaning in frustration, "Why can't I freaking get this watch off?"

Arf blinked in confusion as Ben began fiddling with the watch, her eyes drifting toward the still smoky crater. She scampered toward the crater and saw some kind of pod resting at the bottom of it. A frown formed on the puppy's face for a moment, before her eyes widened and snapped her head towards Ben just as he's pressing down on a section of the watch that must have popped up when she wasn't looking.

He was suddenly engulfed in a flash of green light, when the light died down, in Ben's place was a humanoid creature that looked like it was made of volcanic rock with its head engulfed in fire. The creature looked down at its hands for a moment, then blinked, another moment passed before it blinked again then began screaming in terror.

"AHHHHH, I'M ON FIRE, I'M ON FIRE," it began patting down its arm as if it was trying to put out the flames, and in its panic began running around screaming, even occasionally rolling around on the ground. Arf would have found it funny if it wasn't for the fact that she just saw a 10-year-old human boy transform into a walking lava monster.

Thankfully, It wasn't long until the fire being calmed down.

"Hey, I'm on fire, and I'm okay," It said surprised, before a grin formed on its face as it turned to look at arf, "Hey Arf check it out! I'm totally hot." It let out a chuckle before turning to Arf, whose jaw was practically hitting the floor, "Hey Arf, this is pretty cool huh?"

Arf stared for a moment before muttering, "Ben?"

"Ben" didn't seem to hear Arf, instead focusing on a nearby tree. Arf jumped a bit when "Ben" shot out a mini fireball from his finger and struck a few tree branches off. With a smirk, "Ben" made a base-ball sized fireball, Arf had a pretty good idea what he was thinking of.

"WAIT, BEN!" the puppy shouted, much to "Ben's" surprise.

"ARF, YOU CAN FREAKING TALK!"

Unfortunately, the fireball in Ben's hand was already thrown, hitting a nearby tree. The fire immediately began spreading out of control.

"Ah, s/crap baskets," they both said at the same time.

(Time skip)

The forest around them was burning and no matter what either one of them could do the fire wouldn't die down, if anything their attempts (well Ben's really) just seemed to make it worse.

"BEN, ARF!" The pair turned their heads to look where the voices were coming from and saw that it was both Nanoha and Fate running in their direction. They both were surprised once they saw Ben, though he did notice that neither one of them look even remotely fearful of him. Arf went up to them and said, "Nanoha, Fate, boy are we glad to see you."

"Arf what happened," Nanoha asked worriedly, "And where's Ben-kun?"

"Um, I'm right here," Ben said nervously scratching the back of his head. Both Nanoha and Fate's eyes widen.

"B-ben-kun!?"

"What happened?" this time Fate asked, with a shock expression on her face.

"Well you see it all started when me and Arf almost got crushed by this shooting star but it wasn't a shooting star but this cool watch thing that jumped onto my wrist..."

"Another lost logia?" Nanoha muttered, sounding a bit exasperated.

"and no matter what I do it just won't come off and suddenly I was on fire, only it didn't hurt as I was starting this mega forest fire and…"

"Nanoha, Fate are you two alri...what in blazes?" The group looked to see Max running up to them with a surprised look on his face when he saw Ben.

"It's Ben Grunkle Max," Nanoha explained, "He found something that turned him into this."

"Hey Grandpa," Ben said with a wave.

"Ben?!" Max asked in shock.

"Yeah, well it started when this meteor…"

"Um, in case you guys forgotten, there's a serious forest fire burning out of control," Arf exclaimed, much to the shock of Max.

"Oh yeah, Arf can also talk," Ben said with a hint of excitement in his voice, before asking,"So what do we do?"

Max pondered for a moment.

"Backfire," he said, "create a new fire and let it burn into the old fire, they'll snuff each other out. Think you can do that Ben?"

Ben smirked, "Shooting flames I can definitely do." With that, he ran off, the rest of the group going off to somewhere safe from the fire.

"And you're saying this watch just jumped up and clamped on to your wrist?" Max asked clarifying what Ben explained to him, as Nanoha grabbed a marshmallow and tossed it over to Ben.

"I swear that it wasn't my fault this time," Ben said as he chewed on the offered Marshmallow, "I don't even know what it is or why it latched onto my arm in the first place."

Ben paused for a moment when he recalled something, "Hey Nanoha, didn't you mention something like a Lost, um, Luigi I think you said?"

Nanoha blinks in confusion for a bit before realizing what he meant, "Oh you mean a lost logia."

No one notices Max's eyes widening in surprise at the mention of "Lost logia"

"Yeah, that."

"Well a Lost Logia is basically a magical artifact from ancient civilizations," Nanoha explained as she chewed on a marshmallow, "though I'm not really an expert, all I really know is that some lost logias are both extremely powerful, and just as dangerous."

"What kind of civilization makes watches that turns people into monsters,"

"You're not a monster Ben, you're an alien," Max said causing all eyes to fall on him, "I-I mean...look at him. What else could he be."

"Well you're specifically a Pyronite Ben," Arf clarified.

"Well I hope I don't stay like this forever, I mean how can I play in the little league if I burn the ball every time I catch a pop fly," as soon as Ben said that the hourglass symbol on his chest began to blink red as well as making a loud beeping noise before suddenly he once again engulfed in a bright light. When the light died down, gone was the Pyronite and in its place was a boy with brown messy hair with green eyes, "Hey I'm me again."

"That's a relief," Fate said with a smile, she blinked when Ben began pulling on the watch, "Um, what are you doing Ben?"

"Trying. to. Get. this. Watch. OFF!" Ben said between grunts, before he lost his footing and fell onto his hindquarters.

"Hang on, I'll try to seal it," she said as she stood up and grabbed the triangle-shaped pendant that hung from her neck, "we should be able to get it off afterward."

"What do you mean by "seal it"?" Ben asked now confused.

Both Ben and Max were surprised when the pendant glowed before expanding and turning into a high-tech polearm ax.

"Okay...this summer just keeps getting weirder and weirder."

She gripped onto the steel handle as she positioned the black ax head over the watch. The yellow orb residing in the head of the ax blinked before speaking in a monotone male voice, "error."

"Huh?"

The watch then gave off a green pulse pushing back Fate. Nanoha, acting quickly enough, caught the blond before she hit the ground.

"Are you alright Fate!?"

She nodded her head.

"Probably best not to mess with that thing until we know what we're dealing with," Max stood up from the log and took out a flashlight, "Arf do you think you could show me where that pod landed?"

"Yeah sure."

"In the meantime, you guys stay here until we get back," with that both Max and Arf ventured into the woods.

(time skip)

Nanoha was sitting on a log pondering on the day's event, while Fate was inside the Rustbucket trying to contact her adoptive mother to inform her of what was happening. She really wasn't expecting any of this to happen, and honestly, she couldn't help but worry. In her (granted short) experience with dealing with objects like lost logias, disaster usually follows when dealing with one.

"I wonder what this does?"

Nanoha blinked upon hearing Ben's voice. Looking up she saw Ben sitting on the back bumper of the rustbucket fiddling with the watch.

"Ben you shouldn't be messing with that!" Nanoha reprimanded as she stood up from the log. Ben startled, jumped a bit, and saw Nanoha quickly making her way towards him.

"Yeah, so what's your point?" Ben said before biting down on the watch.

"Ben!"

"Yesh, calm down. Besides, aren't you also curious as to what this thing could do?"

"Not really."

"...Are we really related to each other?" He asked, causing Nanoha to let out a sigh.

"Ben," she began in a low tone that let Ben know she was being serious, "so far, any kind of lost logia I dealt with so far has been extremely dangerous." Her eyes softened with concern, "I'm just worried about you Ben. We don't know what else that watch could do, most of all what it could do to you."

Ben was surprised to hear her say that with such sincerity, "sorry it's just that...if I could just figure out how this thing works then I can be able to help people. Like really help people, and not just...You know...get in the way."

This time it was Nanoha's turn to be surprised, Ben's words reminded how she herself used to feel not that long ago. She found herself grasping the red orb that hung from her neck.

"So um, Ben-kun what was it like being an alien?" she decided to ask.

"It was freaky at first, it was like I was still me but at the same time someone else," Ben explained, as he resumed fiddling with the watch. Nanoha wanted to tell him to stop but for some reason, she couldn't. They both jumped slightly when the dial on the watch popped up, on the face of the dial was a silhouette of the alien Ben turned into not too long ago.

"Hey I think I figured out how I did it," Ben said excitedly as he twisted the dial, "think I should do it again?"

"I rather you didn't."

Ben mentally rolled his eyes and pushed down on the dial, ignoring the girl's protest.

Within the Rustbucket Fate was sitting on the edge of the lower bunk bed as a holographic screen appeared before her. displayed on it was a serene woman with long green hair tied into a ponytail, as well as green eyes. On her forehead were four light purple markings; the top and bottom ones being triangles pointing toward each other while the one on the right and left were circles.

"Oh Fate, I wasn't expecting a call from you so soon," The woman said with a warm smile, "so how is everything going?"

"Something came up admiral Lindy," Fate informed, causing the woman on the screen to grow a concerned look on her face, "A lost Logia has attached itself to Nanoha's cousin's wrist."

Lindy let out a sigh.

"that's the third one," she mumbled to herself, exasperated, before taking on a more professional posture, "has there been any incidents?"

Fate winced a little before nervously describing how Ben accidentally set fire to the nearby forest after transforming into a Pyronite.

The latter information caused Lindy's eyes to widen, before bringing a fist up and resting her chin on in thought, "That sounds like it could be the Omnitrix."

"You know what this Lost Logia is Admiral Lindy?" Fate asked.

"Only through rumors, unfortunately, though I wouldn't go as far as to call it a lost logia."

Fate blinked in confusion, "Really?"

Lindy gave the blond girl a nod, "if what I heard is true then the Omnitrix isn't really a magical device, though that doesn't mean it's any less dangerous than a lost logia especially in the wrong hands."

"Now that I think about it, the Omnitrix function is overall similar to that of the Tome of the Night Sky. Just replace magic with alien DNA."

Fate's eyes widened at that information, she experienced just first hand how powerful that particular lost logia was. The idea that there was something else that worked similarly to the Tome of the Night sky didn't bring her comfort, especially since she knows there were numerous alien species out in space that hold powerful abilities. The only relief she had was that the device in question was already relatively secured, as opposed to needing to be found and secured.

A thoughtful frown adorned Lindy's face before she continued, "though it is strange that Azmuth wouldn't habitzzzzzz…" Suddenly the feed fizzed.

"Admiral Lindy," Fate exclaimed as she hopped off the bed, concern etched onto her face.

"Fatbitzzzz..bitzzzzz…" Fate could barely make out the Admiral worried look before the feed went completely dead.

'Did something cut off the link?' Fate mentally asked herself now worried about the implication of that.

Fate then noticed a green flash of light through the window and rushed out through the door of the Rustbucket. Once she was outside she saw Nanoha standing in front of a large dark blue humanoid insect completely wrapped in what seemed to be some kind of cloak.

"Ok," it said as it looked down at itself, before the "cloak" unraveled to reveal to actually be large moth-like wings, as well as a familiar hourglass symbol on its chest, "this is pretty neat."

"Ben?" her voice drew both of their attention to her.

"Oh hey Fate," Ben replied with a wave, though he stopped when he noticed the worried look on the blond's face.

"Fate-chan, what's wrong?" Nanoha asked, concern filling her voice.

"My connection towards Admiral Lindy has been cut off."

"What!?" Nanoha's eyes widened in shock.

"Maybe it's just a bad connection," Ben suggested with a shrug of his shoulders, "areas in the woods don't really have good cell coverage."

Fate shook her head, "the communication method we use can span across different dimensions Ben."

Both girls saw Ben looking at them with what they were sure was a blank expression.

"Ok, I've been meaning to ask for a while but who are you girls really?", he asked, a breath of cold air escaping from his mouth.

"Sorry Ben, it kind of slipped our minds," Nanoha explained, "both Fate and I are mages, and we…"

Nanoha's explanation was cut off when a red bolt of energy struck Ben in the chest, sending him crashing into a tree. Both Nanoha and Fate widen their eyes in shock.

"BEN!" They both cried out, worried about the boy turned alien. Both girls heard something whirred menacingly behind them. They looked in the direction of the sound and saw a drone that was most definitely not Earth-made, floating behind them. It was armed with several limbs equipped with both blades and blasters, one of which was letting out a bit of smoke from its barrel.

And it wasn't alone.

Three more drones just like the first one came out of the woods and surrounded the three of them, however, they seemed more focused on Ben. Both Nanoha's and Fate's hands went to grab their respective pendants when they heard Ben groan. Looking in his direction, they saw Ben on his hand and knees with his other hand clutching his head.

"Ben are you alright?!" Fate asked before getting a thumbs up from Ben in response.

Suddenly one of the drones flew straight at Ben. Nanoha conjured up a pink ball of energy, the size of a baseball, and shot it toward said drone. Nanoha's eyes widened when just before her spell impacted the drone, the orb fizzled and dispersed, leaving the drone unharmed.

Ben's eyes widened as he saw the drones speeding towards him, intending to ram into him. That would have been the case if it wasn't for Ben becoming translucent and phasing into the ground. With its intended target out of harm's way, the drone's own momentum caused it to crash into the tree and exploded. Ben popped out of the ground not too long after.

Nanoha let out a breath of relief before looking up at the rest of the drones, all of which now had their blasters pointing at them. Ben saw this and grabbed the remains of the drone that tried to ram him and hurled it toward one of the other drones, destroying it as well.

"Hey, bolts for brains," Ben shouted, drawing the two remaining drones' attention, "Why don't you pick on someone your own size!" With that, Ben flew off into the forest with the drones hot on his heels.

Not long after that Nanoha and Fate then began to feel the ground rumble beneath them, accompanied by the sound of heavy mechanical footsteps. They turned in the direction the sound was coming from and saw a robot exiting the forest that was larger than the drones, much larger.

It was roughly 40 feet tall, had an overall cylinder shape, three insectoid legs, two long arms, hands with dagger-like fingers. It pushed aside the trees blocking its path with little to no effort as it's optics glared menacingly at the two girls before it.

"Fate-chan go help Ben-kun," Nanoha yelled as she stood in front of the blond girl.

"But Nanoha," Fate tried to argue but was cut off when the giant robot pointed one of its hands at the pair and fired a large beam of energy from its palm. When the beam hit its mark it resulted in an explosion, covering the spot in smoke. When the smoke cleared both Nanoha and Fate were completely protected from the blast thanks to the circular pink energy shield Nanoha conjured up.

Nanoha was now wearing a white dress that resembles a Japanese school girls uniform with blue trims, her wrists were adorned with large blue and gold vambraces, and black fingerless gloves, in her hand was a white and pink staff with a partial gold ring with two exhaust valves as the head, and suspended within the ring was a large red orb.

"Ben-kun might need your help, we don't know how long he will stay as an alien," Nanoha said as she turned her head to look at Fate, " if he turns back to normal while those robots are still chasing him, he'll be unable to defend himself."

Fate nodded her head, she understood what Nanoha meant perfectly. However she was worried, she saw how Nanoha's spell was negated by that drone and she was certain this one would have a similar feature as well.

"Be careful Nanoha," Fate said as she looked at her pendant, "Bardiche."

"Yes sir," it said before Fate was encased in yellow light. When the light disappeared, she was now wearing a black sleeveless top with red trims, a pink short skirt, black stockings, a metal vambrace on her right wrist, black gloves, and had a large black cape hanging from her shoulders, in her hand was the same polearm ax from before.

Fate immediately jumped up into the air and flew in the direction Ben and the drones went. Seeing this the giant robot fired off another beam toward the blond, however, Nanoha flew in front of the laser and conjured up another shield just before the beam hit. She dispelled the shield and pointed her staff at the robot, the gold section of the staff's head dematerialized and reforms into a more squared shape with two prongs.

"Divine Buster," a monotone female voice came from the staff as a large beam of pink energy was fired from its head. The robot took the attack head-on-. However like before with the drone the pink beam fizzled and dispersed, also leaving the robot undamaged.

Nanoha furrowed her eyebrows, she kind of figured that this robot was also resistant to her magic but she wanted to see if a more powerful spell would overcome it. At the very least its attention was now on her instead of Fate.

Lindy was pacing back and forth in the living room of her home. To say that Lindy was worried would be an understatement, her connection to Fate had been abruptly cut off and no matter how much she tried she couldn't reach Fate, Arf, nor Nanoha.

She narrowed her eyes, before losing the feed Fate told her about the Omnitrix. She heard the rumors of how powerful it potentially could be, and no doubt there are those who would want that power for themselves. There was no way this could be just a coincidence.

She suddenly began to hear something whirred from outside the window. looking through the glass she saw a pair of drones, ones that she could easily recognize, floating outside. Her eyes widened when they pointed their blasters and fired beams of red energy towards her.

One of the drones sped through the forest, still chasing after its quarry. At some point, it's lost visual of its target and even though it was still picking up the signal of the device its master wanted, the drone's sensors couldn't locate the exact location of said device. It was because of this that prevented it from noticing Ben phasing out from under a large rock that the drone flew by.

Ben immediately let out a large amount of cold air from his mouth toward the drone, instantly freezing it in ice, just before it smashed into a tree.

"That's one down," Ben said as he hovered in the air just before the hourglass symbol on his chest started to blink red and Ben changed back to his human form. The boy fell unceremoniously into the bush that he was conveniently hovering over.

"Seriously, now!? Talk about stinking timing," Ben complained just before hearing a familiar noise that filled him with dread. He turned around and saw the last drone hovering behind him, its blaster aimed in his direction, "I rest my case!"

Suddenly a black and yellow blur shot out from between the trees and smashed the drone down into the ground, causing dust to fly up. When the dust settled Ben saw that the drone was nearly cut in half right down the middle, its arms twitching as sparks flew from its chassis.

"Ben are you alright?!"

Ben looked up to see Fate standing over him, a concerned look on her face. Ben gave her a nod, much to her relief.

"Yeah, and am I glad to see you," Ben said as Fate helped pull him out of the bushes, after he was out was when he finally noticed Fate's current attire, "Um, what are you wearing?"

"This is my barrier jacket, it's what mages like me and Nanoha wear in combat."

"Wait, mages?" Ben asked surprised, his eyes widening, "you mean the kind that could do magic?"

Fate gave him a nod in response. If it wasn't for all the weird stuff he experienced today, such as finding a watch that turned him into living fire, a puppy talking, fighting weird robots with lasers, and that ax that Fate has, Ben would have thought the blonde girl was crazy.

Suddenly without warning Fate picked up Ben bridal style, much to his surprise and embarrassment.

"H-hey, what are you doing!?"

"Nanoha stayed behind to fight off a large robot, I want to make sure she's alright," Fate explained before she began flying back as fast as she could, once again surprising Ben and making him hang on to the blonde girl.

Nanoha weaved her body to avoid another beam of energy, before conjuring multiple pink orbs and launching them at the trees near her opponent. The trees began to fall onto the robot forcing it to swing its arm to swat away the offending flora. This allowed Nanoha to fly a bit of distance from it and hide behind a tree.

Taking a small breather Nanoha noticed a large rock, almost the same size as her, she pointed her staff at it and a beam of pink energy stretched out toward the rock before grabbing onto it. Nanoha furrowed her brow in concentration as she lifted the rock off the ground and towards her. She was starting to feel a bit of sweat on her brow, she hasn't really had much practice with this type of spell much less with an object of this size. However, she could still manage enough for what she had planned.

She waited a bit as she heard the heavy mechanical footstep draw closer and closer. She saw the robot walk out into view looking away from her. With a cry of exertion, Nanoha swung her staff and hurled the rock as hard as she could toward the robot.

The robot turned in her direction just as the rock smashed into its face, destroying its left optic and causing it to stagger back a bit. So far Nanoha has been using hit-and-run tactics as she led the robot away from the campsite, while at the same time trying to use what she could find to damage the machine. Up until now the best she managed to do was dent its armor with fist-sized rocks or by dropping trees onto it.

The robot quickly recovered and fired beams from both of its palms toward the young brunette. Nanoha dodged the laser, however, this caused her to take her eyes off of the robot. When she looked back towards it she saw that it was gone! She suddenly heard what sounded like a large drill above her. When she looked up, her eyes widened as she saw the robot falling toward her, and barely had time to fly out of the way else she would have been crushed. She also was only able to conjure up a hastily made shield when the robot threw a punch toward her.

Just like her attack spells, Nanoha's shield simply disperses before the fist, allowing it to strike her with full force. The brunette was sent flying through a tree before bouncing off the ground and crashing into the bottom of a cliff with enough force to create dust. Air escaped her lungs as she collapsed onto her hands and knees, disoriented. Shaking the cobwebs out of her head, she looked up and glared at the robot looming over her, one of its hands pointing at her as it charged one more energy beam.

Nanoha pointed her staff upward, she fired one more pink beam, past the robot's head and striking the side of the cliff. The robot looked up to see the blast caused numerous rocks to break and fall down toward the pair. Nanoha immediately flew into the air to avoid being crushed, the robot wasn't so quick and was buried beneath the rubble.

Nanoha kept her staff trained on the rubble. After a while of nothing happening, she lowered her weapon and let out a breath. That machine was a pain to fight. If it wasn't for it somehow managing to cancel out her spells, she was certain she could have easily destroyed it. If Vita or Signum were here, either one of them would have no issue fighting it as well.

The sounds of moving rocks were Nanoha's only warning when a giant metal hand shot out of the rubble and grabbed her tightly. The rest of the robot emerged from the pile heavily damaged, its head was barley supported by its neck, two of its legs were completely crushed and rendered useless, forcing it to crawl, its right hand missing and the arm it used to be attached to could barely hold the robot's weight, sparks flew from its chassis. The damage, however, didn't stop it from crushing Nanoha within its grip, the brunette could feel her ribs squeezing her lungs. Both her arms were trapped within its grip so Nanoha wasn't able to use her staff, assuming that its anti-magic barrier was destroyed.

"Reactor pur-" the staff began to speak, however, the robot's grip suddenly loosen as it fell flat on its face, "-ge?"

Nanoha blinked in surprise and slight confusion as she stared at the robot's unmoving form, she would be lying if she said she wasn't put off by such an anti-climatic turn of events. She was half expecting the robot to get back up. When it didn't Nanoha tried to squirm out of its grip, but while its grip wasn't crushing her anymore it was still tight enough to prevent her from escaping.

"Nanoha!?"

The brunette turned her head to look behind her and saw both Max and Arf running up to her, both having a look of concern and a bit of confusion.

"Are you alright!?" Max asked with concern, in which Nanoha gave a nod.

"I'm alright," she said as she squirmed within the robot's grip, before giving out a nervous chuckle "Nyahahaha, but I'm kind of stuck."

Max immediately began pulling on the mechanical fingers however they wouldn't budge.

"Hang on, I'll get her out," Arf said as she was engulfed in light. When the light died down, Arf was now a tall beautiful well-endowed woman with long hair that reached down to her waist, both her ears and tail that she had as a puppy were still present. She wore a small tank-top and pink short-shorts.

Nanoha notices Max's lack of surprise as he steps aside to allow Arf to be able to pry the metal fingers off of her. She mentally shrugged, figuring that Arf must have shown her human-form to him earlier.

"I'm glad to see that you kids are alright," Max said when everyone gathered inside of the Rustbucket, "When Arf showed me the remains of that pod both she and Ben found I had a bad feeling that something like this would happen."

"It seemed like they were after the Omnitrix," Fate suggested, earning confused looks from almost everyone in the RV, "It what Lindy said the watch could be called."

"Really, did she tell you anything else?" Arf, still in her human-form, asked curiously.

"Well, she said that its primary function was to catalog numerous alien DNA."

"Well I did find out that I could transform into one out of ten super cool alien dudes," Ben said with excitement until he noticed the disappointing look Max was giving him.

"I thought I asked you not to fool around with it until we knew what the heck it is."

"Sorry Grandpa," Ben replied with a bit of guilt.

Nanoha also feeling guilty spoke up, "It's also my fault Grunkle Max, I didn't really put much of an effort to stop him."

Max simply let out a sigh as he rubbed his temple. Arf crossed her arms in thought.

"You know, I'm pretty sure there would be a lot more than just ten aliens in that thing," She said voicing her thoughts.

Max thought for a moment before saying with a smirk, "Well, with a device as powerful as that watch clamped on you, my guess is we better help you learn... and fast."

Ben, Nanoha, and Fate looked at him with surprise before the former grew a smile on his face.

Suddenly a beeping noise rang from Fate's pocket. Blinking she reached in and pulled out her phone, before looking at the number. Her eyes widened in relief when she saw who it was and immediately answered the call.

"Admiral Lindy," Fate said into the phone.

"Oh thank goodness you're alright Fate," Fate heard the relief within the admiral's voice.

"We're fine admiral," Fate said in reassurance, "but we were attacked by unknown drones that were capable of nullifying our magic."

"The same thing happened to me as well," Lindy said, causing Fate to become worried, "if it wasn't for Vita and Zafira, I would have been in trouble. However, that's not the only issue we have."

"Fate, I'm unable to contact anyone within the TSAB, whoever is responsible is jamming our long-range communications. They also seemed to be able to track and pinpoint our locations rather quickly." A concerned look grew on Fate's face as she let the information sink in, "For the time being Fate I want you and Nanoha to avoid using means of communication more advanced than what earth currently has."

"Yes admiral," Fate said before Max placed a hand on her shoulder, gaining her attention.

"Could I talk to her for a moment?" he asked.

"Who was that Fate?" Lindy asked.

"Nanoha's Grand-uncle, he wishes to speak to you."

"Very well then."

With that Fate handed the phone over to Max.

"Hello."

"Hello, I am Admiral Harlaown of the Time-Space Administration Bureau, it is a pleasure to speak with you Mr…"

"Max Tennyson," Max replied with a tone of discipline that surprised Arf a bit. On the other side of the line, Lindy's eyes widen at the mention of his name.

"Max Tennyson, as in Magister Tennyson of the Plumbers?" Lindy asked, doing her best to keep the surprise and awe out of her voice.

"Yes, that's right," he said, glad that the other occupants of the RV couldn't hear her.

"It's just an honor to be speaking to a legend such as yourself."

"It's alright," Max said, "though I would have preferred this conversation to be on better circumstances."

Lindy sighed, "I agree. As I told my daughter before I am unable to contact anyone within the TSAB, our normal means of communications are being jammed."

"Is there any particular reason as to why the TSAB is on earth?" Max asked the admiral.

"Sadly no," the admiral said grimly, overall understanding why he was asking that particular question, "Me, Fate, Nanoha, Arf are all on Earth for vacation."

Max grimaced at that information, that meant nobody within the TSAB would find it too strange if the Admiral doesn't report back to them for some time. Which meant no reinforcement, or means of resupplying if need be.

"Fortunately I have the Wolkenritter and their mistress here with me, and she is more than willing to provide her and her knights' assistance."

'The Wolkenritter!?' Now that surprised Max. While he never encountered them before in person, he has heard of them and what they've done. Though by the sounds of it, both they and TSAB seem to be on good terms. He was sure there was a story there, but now wasn't really the time for that. Max thought for a moment before speaking into the Phone again.

"It wouldn't be a good idea to simply stay in one spot, think you could meet us at South Dakota?"

"South Dakota?" Lindy asked curiously, before she snapped her fingers in realization, "Ah Yes, I believe I read somewhere that there's an old Plumber base in the vicinity. That would be a good place for us to go."

"Good, we'll meet up there and figure out what to do," Max said before giving the phone back to Fate.

He let out a sigh. He really wasn't expecting any of this to happen, and honestly, he couldn't help but worry. In his (rather long) experience there was only one person he knew who had robots like the one he saw, but it couldn't be him.

Lindy massaged her temple, she needed some tea, with plenty of sugar. About a year ago, the jewel seeds were spread across Japan, then the Book of Darkness incident, now the Omnitrix is here on earth. Three powerful devices, all within about a year, have appeared on Earth. Lindy hoped this wasn't going to be a pattern.

Exhaling through her nose, Lindy turned to face a pair of individuals. One was a small girl with blue eyes and had long red-orange hair tied in two braids that reached down to her waist. She wore a red dress with black frills, black gloves, and on her head lay a puffy hat that had two plushie rabbit heads stitched to its sides. In her hand and resting on her shoulder was a two-sided hammer that distantly resembles a polo mallet.

Next to her stood a tall muscular man with tanned skin, a stern look in his red eyes, a blue gem on his forehead, his short wild hair silver, and had blue wolf ears and a silver tail similar to Arf's. He wore a blue sleeveless trench coat, black cargo pants, black gloves, and had a pair of steel gauntlets and boots.

"Again thank you both for your assistance," Lindy said with a grateful smile.

"Think nothing of it," the man said with a gruff voice, his arms crossed over his chest, before narrowing his eyes, "however I am concerned about the one who sent these."

Lindy understood who he was referring to, there was only one individual who would use these designs of robots, "You mean Vilgax?"

The pair gave her a nod.

"That bastard had been hounding us for centuries, trying to get his tentacles on the Book of Darkness," the girl said with a scowl. Lindy frowned at that, if Vilgax was behind this then he would no doubt go after both the Omnitrix and the book. However…

"That's impossible, it couldn't be him," She said earning curious looks from the pair, "He's dead."

That caused both of them to raise their brows in surprise.

"What makes you say that?" the girl asked with a skeptical frown, "that guy isn't exactly easy to kill, trust me, we tried."

"It's been years since he was last seen, that was when Magister Tennyson defeated him here on Earth," Lindy stated, "Even he couldn't survive being in the center of a nuclear explosion."

A humanoid drone with six optics walked up toward a glass tube before bowing, within the tube submerged in orange fluid and hanging by organic-looking wires and tubes was a mutilated body. The left side of his body was all but gone, his right arm immensely charred, only the upper right thigh remained of its leg. The only thing that was relatively undamaged would be the head of the creature resembling that of an octopus and has tentacles dangling in the front of his face, much like a beard. His skin pale-green with yellowish spots on his face and tentacles.

"Master three out of the four Warbots we sent to the planet's surface were destroyed, and the Omnitrix was not retrieved," the drone reported causing the being before it to narrow its red eyes.

"Failure!? Unbelievable!" he shouted through his life support mask, fury evident in his raspy voice as he glowed with power, "Not only was I denied the Omnitrix but now I will have to deal with the TSAB annoyance."

"However master, our surviving Warbot have discovered an object that our scanners indicate to have enormous power," the drone said, calming its master's fury and earning his curiosity, as two other humanoid drones appeared and presented said object. It was a jewel that had an overall shape to that of a rhombus, its corners rounded, it had an overall blue coloring to it with its tone darkening toward its center. Most of all, despite being small enough to fit in the palm of even a child, he could feel the power within it. Immense power.

"Analyse-it, I want to know what its capabilities are," he ordered. Bowing the two drones turned and exited the chamber to perform the task their master ordered.

"Also just before they were destroyed, the Warbots that we sent to eliminate the TSAB agents manage to send up these images," the drone said as it brought up two holographic images, each one showing the two individuals that saved Lindy.

"Vita and Zafira," He said as his eyes narrowed, "if they are awake then so is the Book of Darkness. I want constant scans of the planet to determine if they have yet to leave. If not then activate the teleportation interceptor, I do NOT want them to escape."

Bowing the drone turn and exited the chamber.

"Soon both the Omnitrix and the Book of Darkness will be mine, and both of the puny beings keeping them from me will hang on my trophy wall."

It was morning when Max, Nanoha, Fate, and Arf were packing up their campsite, however, Ben was nowhere to be seen.

"Where's Ben?" Max thought out loud.

"Me and Fate-chan haven't seen him since breakfast," Nanoha said as she lifted up a bag.

"I think I saw him head back into the woods," Arf brought up before everyone heard something that sounded similar to that of a jet plane speeding through the air. Turning to the source of the sound, they saw a blue blur coming toward them before coming to a stop in front of Max. That thing resembles a semi-armored Velociraptor, it has black orbs on its feet, five blue stripes on its tail, and wears a black conoid helmet with a visor.

"Ben?" Max asked, perplexed.

The visor retracted to show a blue face, green eyes, black lips, and stripes above and on the right side of his eyes.

"Yup," he said, "Hey check out what I can do."

The visor coming back down before he began running around at speeds that rivaled Fate's. The girl in question was really the only one who was able to easily keep track of Ben as he tucked away the TV, the fold-up chair, and anything that was left outside into the RV. Fate decided that this was her favorite alien, and felt an urge to ask him to a race.

"Pretty fast huh?" Ben asked as he skidded to a stop in front of the group, before changing back into his human form and began to dust himself, "I think this is going to be the best summer ever."

"Absolutely," Max said with a fist on his hip, as Nanoha and Fate smiled in agreement.

"By the way Ben, where were you?" Arf asked, her arms crossed over her chest as she leaned on the Rustbucket."

"Oh, just had to take care of a few things before the summer really got rolling," he said with a smirk.

Meanwhile, in Bellwood, two dimwits were perplexed about their situation. Neither one of them was able to figure out how they got stuck in the first place. One moment they were extorting cash from a random kid, the next they were stuck in a tree hanging by their underwear, and it didn't seem like they would be getting down anytime soon.

AN: and here we have the first chapter of Aliens and Magic. Honestly surprised that there are not more crossover content between Ben 10 and Lyrical Nanoha, I actually believe that a team-up between these two would be one of the coolest things out there. So far I only seen two stories of this kind of crossover and frankly, the one I enjoyed reading was "Gift From A Friend", so since I enjoy these series I thought that I would try my best to write my own crossover. Tell me what you guys think in the reviews. Also, should I have Nanona use honor-fic or can I just drop them, their kind of a pain to try to type down while ensuring that I'm using them correctly? Have a good day, and stay safe.
