Kanna's plan was simple. Work everywhere there was work, for as long as she could. Travel south until she found more work. Spend as little money as possible.

Unfortunately simple was not the same as easy. Kanna was a decent cook, but she had not thought to bring any seasonings with her. Eating was rapidly becoming as tiring as walking or picking fruit. Sleeping on the ground, even with her thick sleeping bag, was no joy either.

Added to all of this was loneliness. In the Northern Water Tribe Kanna had always had someone to talk to, but traveling through the Earth Kingdom at top speed left little time to make friends. Kanna's dreams had always involved meeting interesting people and she was tempted to slow down for just long enough that people would get used to her before she left town.

She could probably afford to, both monetary and temporally, but Kanna was afraid to slow down. She told herself it was because she would spend too much money and be unable to buy passage to the Southern Water Tribe, but deep inside she knew if she stopped traveling she might never start again.

And Kanna couldn't give up.
