Chapter 489: Beautiful Place

Tuesday, February 14th, Late Evening

Lucas Scott left his office and wandered through the galleries at the appointed time. He found himself outside the media room. He could see his grandchildren sleeping in the blankets. LK was staying the night, and Keni was asleep.

The new brunette looked at her phone and looked to Sawyer. She stood up and straightened out her shirt.

"My mom is almost here," Alesha said.

"Okay," Sawyer said.

"So, how do I get to the door?" Alesha asked.

"I can show her," Lucas said.

"Okay, Dad," Sawyer said.

"Mister Scott," Alesha said.

"Sawyer," Lucas said.

"Yes, Dad," Sawyer said.

"Get Keni and LK settled, straighten up a little, and I'll take care of Nomi and Ellis," Lucas said.

"Yes, Dad," Sawyer said.

Lucas looked at Alesha, "Miss Gregg," he said.

"Mister Scott," Alesha said.

"Please, follow me," Lucas said.

"Alright," Alesha said and followed Lucas out of the media room and the galleries.

"This is a nice place, Mister Scott," Alesha said.

"It's Keni's mom's place," Lucas said.

"Sawyer says she lives here too," Alesha said.

"We do live here," Lucas said.

"Why's that?" Alesha asked.

"That's a story for another time," Lucas said.

"So, Mister Scott, thank you for having me over," Alesha said.

"You're welcome," Lucas said and led Alesha to the door of the East Range.

The doorbell rang, and Lucas answered it.

"Mister Scott," Mrs. Gregg said, "I didn't expect to see you here."

Lucas nodded, "I live here," he said.

"Oh, yeah, that's right, Sawyers, your daughter," Mrs. Gregg said.

"Yeah," Lucas said.

"Is Alesha here?" Mrs. Gregg asked.

"I'm here, Mom," Alesha said.

"Did you have a good night?" Mrs. Gregg asked.

"Yes, Mom, let's go," Alesha said.

"See you, Mister Scott," Mrs. Gregg said.

"Bye, Mister Scott," Alesha said.

"Good night, ladies," Lucas said, watching the two Gregg women go to the waiting car.

Lucas closed the door and headed back to the media room. Standing in the doorway, Lucas watched as his daughter, niece, and Keni straightened up the media room. Lucas smiled and walked over to where Ellis lay.

Taking a deep breath, Lucas picked up his grandson. Going through the galleries, Lucas brought Ellis to his bedroom and tucked him in. Lucas looked at his grandson, taking in that Ellis looked like Keith at the same age, just Ellis had his Izzy's brunette hair.

"I'd head off to bed; big day tomorrow," Lucas said.

"Yes, Dad," Sawyer said.

"Yes, Uncle Lucas," Keni said; Lucas could see Keni's ad bloodshot eyes.

"Yes, Uncle Lucas," LK said in her detached voice.

Lucas nodded and guided his granddaughter through the galleries. He showed Nomi into the bedroom; Nomi climbed into her bed. Lucas tucked in Nomi and kissed her forehead.

Lucas noticed his granddaughter; she didn't look like either of her parents. Nodding, Lucas saw that Nomi looked like her grandma. Lucas tucked his arms around him and walked out of the bedroom.

Walking down the gallery, Lucas checked in the girl's bedroom. Keni was already asleep; Lucas made sure she was tucked in warmly. After leaving Keni's room, Lucas closed the door.

Next, Lucas walked into the guest room. LK was in bed reading. Lucas looked at his niece, and his niece looked back at him.

"Good night, Uncle Lucas," LK said.

"Good night, LK," Lucas said and left the bedroom.

Lucas walked over to Sawyer's room. Sawyer was just getting into bed, and she had her stuffed husky under her arm. Lucas took a seat in the desk chair.

"Yes, Dad," Sawyer said.

"How was your evening?" Lucas asked.

"It was fine, Dad," Sawyer said.

"I remember you were doing that with your mom," Lucas said.

Sawyer looked at Lucas, "Yeah, we used to do that, crashing out on the couch, watching movies, and pig out," she said.

"When did you start doing it?" Lucas asked.

"I don't know; I do remember the first movie was a Disney movie," Sawyer said.

"Hard to believe your mom was watching Disney movies," Lucas said.

Sawyer laughed, "I know, but we did," she said.

"Still," Lucas said.

"It was the Dark Caldron, though," Sawyer said.

"Now that makes sense," Lucas said.

"You know why I do this is because of her," Sawyer said.

"I know," Lucas said and nodded, "I know."

"You said it was best to share the good things," Sawyer said.

Lucas nodded, "I know," he said.

Sawyer's face hung; she bit her bottom lip and nodded. Lucas stood up kiss Sawyer's forehead.

"Good night, Sawyer; get some sleep tomorrow is a big day," Lucas said.

Sawyer nodded. Lucas left the bedroom. Once the bedroom door was closed, he leaned against the wall and cried.
