CHAPTER FOUR
AT THE HEART OF THE SEA
( Part I )
Early Start of the 18th Century
Pluto III (Earth)
As I am done racing my chariot throughout the night. I land on the campsite where my Hunters lay to sleep. As I walk Inside my tent, I fall onto the large blanket of a bear rug that I had on my bed. Exhaustion ran all over my body as I couldn't wait for Hypnos to take me to the land of dreams. But I knew that It wouldn't be that easy.
A bright flash of light came In, and the familiar smell of salted air, and seaweed. Poseidon.
"Niece!" His gruff voice was barely a whisper.
"Uncle" I mumbled as my face was stuffed with my fluffy pillow.
"We need to talk," He said. A groan escaped my lips as I forced myself upwards. As I stood I saw him wearing the newest fashion of clothes. A typical outfit, with a green skirted knee length coat, knee breeches, a yellow green waistcoat, and a lined shirt. He also wore silk stockings, leather shoes, and of course the finishing touch point. A large ridiculous White Wig. If I wasn't exhausted from my daily duty, I would have laughed at my Uncle's choice of outfit.
But I didn't. Instead I grimace, as I could Imagine how the other Goddesses would have to wear to go to a ball. A dress heavy enough not to move, Perfume that could kill a bear from miles away, and the newest techniques. Make up, with the use of powder.
I raised my brow at him, he caught the face I was making.
"Oh don't look at me like that, Artemis" He said, his hand leaned towards a walking stick, while the other he lazily waved at the air.
"Your father made me wear this, you know how Zeus Is" He said, In response I just rolled my eyes at him.
"I'm guessing that you're going to some fancy royal party again" I sigh "Is It too much to ask but to look after Apollo".
It was my uncle's turn to raise a brow. Right.
"Apollo, always the troublemaker" I mumbled as I heard a small chuckle from him.
"Oh don't you worry Niece, you won't be the only one not coming to the Ball. But If you change your mind!". I quickly intervened by saying "No, I won't come".
"Artemis…" Poseidon said "You're still young, and you need to live your life from time to time. Besides!" He shouted as a smile spread through his face.
"The French always know how to throw a party!" He finished.
My expression didn't change. "Is Athena going to attend the Ball?" I asked.
My Uncle's eyes were now filled with glamour, and an evil smile rose. My eyes widened.
"She Is!" My Uncle said with excitement.
'Oh no' I thought "Did Father put her up to this?" I asked with a hint of anger.
"Oh no no no! She lost on a bet we had" He said with a grin.
'Athena...losing to a bet' I thought In disbelief. If there Is a well known fact about my Sister, Is that she rarely loses a bet. I raised my eyebrow, and Poseidon quickly understood the meaning.
"Hey, It's one of the few times I get to win a bet with her!" I roll my eyes.
"What was the bet about?" I asked.
"Ohh nothing much, just a determination of a battle" He said.
I looked at him with narrow eyes as I didn't believe him. In response he did the same thing "It's the Truth" He said with narrow eyes.
Green eyes versus Silver ones, I didn't move, and he didn't move. I may hate men, but I hated them more If they took advantage of women. As I opened my mouth to protest, my Uncle beat me to It.
"The Bet she has to fulfill Isn't as horrifying as you think It Is, my Dear Niece" Poseidon said "A Bet was put to the table. A battle was to be determined, and the results came into conclusion. Athena lost...And Now!" His grin returned.
"She has to put on a dress and dance at the ball with at least one man" He finished with a small chuckle.
Anger was coming through me, but I didn't let it consume me. I was angry that my sister was to be put to the spot, but I am also not able to do anything. As I knew that every Olympian has his/her fair share of fun. No matter how dark, or Laughable It Is. It's still the result of making sure that each and every one of us would best the other. It's a rule that has been established for generations.
"Will she be able to leave once she has done her fair share of the bet?" I asked hoping for some good results.
Poseidon thought thoroughly while scratching his short beard.
"If she's able to come, while wearing a dress then yes! Oh and dance of course!" He said, I rolled my eyes.
'I'm sorry Sister, but you're on your own on this one' I thought.
"Now then" I heard my Uncle's voice bringing me back to reality. His eyes were filled with rage, and his face was serious.
"I need you to do something for me, Artemis. Something very Important".
"What Is It?" I asked curious.
"There Is a change of tide In my domain, and I need your assistance".
I was shocked to hear him say that. A change, It couldn't be possible, except if there was danger lurking, which was impossible.
"I need your Hunters, Artemis. I need them to vanquish some monsters. Monsters that have no sense of Humility or Humanity".
My eyes widened, as I saw my Uncle's aura being flared at, I took a step back. As I saw the God In front of me ready to create Chaos In the mortal realm. For whatever the reason, It must have been serious for him to be angry.
"Hunt them down, and I shall call It even with the favor that you still owe me".
As I heard that I Immediately paid attention to what my Uncle wanted from me, and how I knew that the quest he sends me and my Hunters on. Would change the Tide to Its rightful place.
As Morning came, the camp that the Hunters had camped with was now basking with life. The Hunters were split into sections, those that did Archery lessons, hand to hand combat, sword practice, and the oldest Hunters teaching the youngest how to hunt beasts.
Of course there was another group that had a special duty to do.
"Urghhhhhh! This Is the Worst!".
Peeling Potatoes.
A group of four girls were sitting around a circle, and on their sides were four sacks of potatoes that they needed to peel, before lunch.
"Less talking Chloe and more peeling" Said a girl with a strict voice. She had long Ginger hair, Brown eyes, white skin and a scar that ran from her forehead down to her cheek.
"Urghhh but Alexa It's sooo difficult!" Said a tormented Chloe as she blew away her long blonde hair from her face. Her Blue eyes were filled with those of exhaustion, and annoyance.
The last two hunters that were sitting with them were the quietest ones. One of them was a brunette, with green eyes, and a scar. She looked the quietest of the Hunters, not always talking, but the most resilient In battle.
The Last Hunter, had Black Silky Hair, Black Eyes, and a smile that Indicated how focused she was on peeling those potatoes.
"Calliphoneee!" Chloe cried out.
Calliphone, daughter of the Tyrant Demmekos. Was peeling potatoes, when her Sister of Battle called out for her.
"Yes Chloe" Her voice, calm and soothing.
"I'm Bored!".
Calliphone giggled.
"I can't do anything about that Chloe. Besides, we are a team, and we need to finish this before we can do anything else" Calliphone said.
Chloe gave herself a heavy sigh. As Calliphone was always the voice of reason.
"I tried telling her that! But she won't listen" Alexa complained.
"Can we take a break?" Chloe asked.
"No!" Both of them said.
"Mariaaaa!" Chloe cried out again. Only this time attracting the attention of the fourth Hunter of the group.
Maria's green eyes lifted from the potato she had peeled, and focused her gaze on the Blonde Hunter.
"No…" She said In a low voice "You can't…". With that she refocused her gaze on another potato, as she grabbed it from her sack and started peeling It.
Chloe pouted.
"Not fair…" She mumbled.
Calliphone giggled at the display, while Alexa shook her head In disapproval.
"Think of this," Calliphone said. "What If we finish early, and then I can brush your hair near the river? Sounds good?".
Chloe's eyes were now filled with excitement.
"Really!" She said, and Calliphone nodded.
In less than an hour, Chloe was able to pull her weight Into peeling all of her potatoes. Before any of them could finish.
Once done, they handed them to their fellow Hunters who had cooking duty. As for them, they headed towards the river, with an excited Chloe.
"Calliphone!".
"Yes Chloe".
"Once we are at the River, will you sing for us? Please~".
Calliphone rolled her eyes, as she chuckled at her fellow Hunter's antics.
"Of course" She said, and Chloe squealed in delight.
As they reached the banks of the river, the sound of a horn blew off right behind them.
Chloe's smile disappeared as she, and everyone else knew what It meant. Calliphone grabbed her hand and squeezed it firmly.
"Don't worry, there is always another time" She reassured her.
Chloe gave her slow nod.
"I know," She mumbled.
"Come".
All four of them made their way towards the crowd that was standing outside the tent of their Lady.
Standing beside It, was a familiar Lieutenant. Waiting patiently for them to gather.
For a brief moment, Calliphone was able to catch the eyes of their Lieutenant. A small smile, and a nod was given, which she returned. As the last of the Hunters arrived, the Tent flipped open, and out came their Lady.
Artemis In her 12 year old form came to greet them.
"Hunters!" She yelled.
Everyone stopped at what they were doing, and listened closely.
"Today, we embark on a mission," She Said Firmly.
"A mission that will be split up Into two groups".
Whispers were heard amongst the Hunters.
"I know!" Their Lady shouted as the whispers died down.
"That never before, we have been split as a group, as a Family. We always hunted as one, and we always triumphed In hunting as one! But Today! We are to split Into 2 groups. One led by me, and the second led by Zoë Nightshade!"
Before the Hunters could ask as to what they were hunting. Artemis gave their final order.
"The Second Party will consist of! Hemithea and Parthenos Legacies of Dionysus! Chloe Daughter of Aphrodite! Alexa and Maria! And Finally Calliphone! The rest will follow me!".
Without a moment to lose, every Huntress went to gear up. Bows, and Arrows, Knives, and Swords. They were Hunters of Artemis, and they would succeed where others failed. Though one stood behind, Calliphone approached Zoë and her Lady.
"My Lady" She bowed before her Mistress.
Artemis smiled, and Zoë smirked "Calliphone, to what do I owe the Pleasure". It was known from both of them that Calliphone had an aspect of finding out the briefing of every mission. It wasn't In a way that made her a gossiper, no. It was a way that she expressed her way of concern when watching over her sisters. For years she had done that, and for years she was the perfect role of a Big Sister to the family.
"Might I ask as to what we are hunting my Lady?" Calliphone asked.
"Yes my dear" Artemis' smile was gone, and was replaced with a serious expression.
"For years, mankind was given fire by Prometheus, putting them In control of It. Keeping them warm, and using them as a way of light during the dark" She said, and Calliphone nodded.
"But the source of It, Is no longer firewood or coal" Her Lady's eyes darkened "But the use of oil. Whale oil to be precise".
Calliphone's eyes widened. As she understood what kind of subject they were talking about. Whaling was a dark business, men were able to extract oil from whales, but to do that, they had to kill them first.
"It has gone too far," Artemis said, and Zoë followed, "Poseidon gave us the task to put It to a stop. We need to find them, and If they use resistance-".
"Death" Calliphone finished, and they both nodded.
Calliphone's head dropped a bit, and Artemis quickly put her hand on her shoulder.
"I know you don't approve of killing people, but at times we Hunters must do our duty to not only protect the wild. But also to keep the balance at flow".
Calliphone nodded, but she was still hesitant to agree with that. Killing monsters was one thing, but killing people was another.
Artemis nodded at Zoë, and Zoë obliged.
"Come It's time to go" Zoë said, and Calliphone nodded to her.
"May your Hunt be successful as well as glorious, my young Hunters" Artemis said to them, as both her Hunters bowed to her.
"To You/Thee as well, My Lady" They both said.
As Artemis saw both of her Hunters disappearing into the Horizon. She thought of one thing that concerned her the most.
'Be safe'
Boston
"Boston, a large City of the New World, with Large Buildings, Houses, and Slums. It's population Is estimated to be 20.000, and more. It has a great significance for trade, and resources. And-".
"Alright we get It, It's a mud of a town. Thank you Calliphone" Alexa Interrupted, as they all knew how Calliphone was excited for every detail that came to visit to any sort of place.
Calliphone's cheeks puffed.
"I was just making sure that we were in the right place, hmph!" She said, and everyone either snickered or rolled their eyes with a smile.
Calliphone smiled as well, as a little humor was always needed before a hunt. All Seven of them were galloping towards the city of Boston, and In front of her were her Sisters. Alexa and Chloe arguing about something, Maria staying quiet while reading a book she had given her. Hemithea and Parthenos were sisters, and they were the Legacies of Dionysus. Their story goes back all the way to the Ancient Times.
Their Father was the King of Naxos, and as a son of Dionysus, he had taken the bad qualities of him. Drinking and raging at everything that he saw as a disrespect towards him. His daughters however weren't, as they both had the good qualities of their mother.
Hemithea and her Sister Parthenos had both long Dark Hair, and Purple eyes. Their story was that they had once broken something valuable to their father. Scared of facing their father's wrath, they jumped over a cliff, and prayed to the Goddess Artemis to save them. But It was Apollo who heard them, and rescued them from their fall. Not long afterwards they joined the Hunters, and made a new life.
The last companion was her closest friend, Zoë. The Lieutenant was riding her horse beside her, her Silver Tiara always worn, and her outfit was a combination of leather and fur. A similar outfit for everyone else.
Calliphone noticed how her eyes were narrowed at the City In front of them, and how deeply In thought she was.
"A drachma for your thoughts?" Asked Calliphone.
Zoë's dark eyes fell on her, and she saw how Intense they were.
"It's...nothing"
Calliphone raised an eyebrow at her. Contemplating as to what had been bothering her friend.
"Is It the mission?" Zoë Inhaled for a moment.
"Yes, we are about to embark on a Quest that might take longer than I think It will" She said with a hint of anxiety.
Calliphone never thought of It, but to stop sailors from killing whales. They had to sail the Sea, and she had never been on a ship before.
Calliphone's mind stopped, as she realized something.
"How...are we going to stop mortals from killing whales. When we don't have our own ship?"
Zoë's smile reached her ears at the question.
"I have It covered, as I have a favor to collect from an old friend".
Calliphone was curious at what her Lieutenant said, but she waited patiently to see.
As they reached the entry point of the City. The guards barely gave them attention as they kept themselves busy with other people that tried to get free entry.
'The Mist, always at Its use' Calliphone thought smugly.
However, as they further ventured into the roads of Boston. They all realized how the roads were muddy, filthy, and too narrow for them to ride on a horse. People walked each side, bumping into each other, and dumping anything that didn't interest them anymore.
"We should find a stable for them. Otherwise we can't continue like this". Shouted Alexa.
"Agreed!" Responded Zoë "Follow me!".
As they followed Zoë through the narrow alleys of Boston. They came to a place called The Green Dragon.
"A tavern," Whispered Maria.
"That's...unexpected" Said Chloe.
"Aye" Said Zoë "We have arrived at our destination" and with that she climbed down from her Horse, and guided It to a man standing near a stable that was stationed around the corner.
She gave the man a Drachma, and the man Immediately bowed. The rest of the Hunters followed suit, giving each a Drachma to the man, before following Zoë.
"Hemithea! Parthenos! Guard the Door" She ordered, as the two Sisters nodded. Their bows and knives at close hand.
As they entered the establishment, they were greeted by the smell of alcohol. Half of them had to cover up their noses as the stench was unbearable.
"Ewww smells sick" Complained Chloe.
"And piss" Said Alexa.
They all shook their heads at how blunt Alexa could be.
Zoë stepped forward and approached the bar while the others waited. From Calliphone's point of view she saw Zoë talking to an elderly woman behind the counter. She looked as though she was In charge, but didn't have the energy to do so.
After what looked like an eternity, Zoë had finally turned to look at them, and signaled them to follow. As they did.
"Well?" Asked Calliphone.
Zoë smirked.
"Wait and See" Was the response she got. Calliphone pouted.
As they made their way around the back, they saw the many faces of drunk men. Some of them looked tired, while others looked like they were having the time of their life. Whilst others looked to be looking for trouble.
The Hunters ignored them, as they followed their Lieutenant. Who stopped in front of an old rusty chimney, and beside It was an old man sitting on a chair.
"Captain!" Zoë called out "Captain Faulkner!".
The old man stirred as he slowly rose from his seat.
"Whose!...Calling my name!?" The man who rose from his seat. Was a man that saw a lot of battles, and a lot of drinking experiences. He looked to be in his mid 80s, and both his hair and beard were white as snow. He wore a leather jacket, brown boots, a sword to his hilt, and a pistol at his belt.
"Captain! It's me!" Zoë called out to him, with her eyes narrowed as she became agitated.
The Old Sailor leaned closely to her, his black eyes narrowed as well, before widening.
"Miss! Nightshade!" He shouted waving his hands in the air "Aha! It Is you!".
Zoë closed her eyes while rubbing her forehead.
"I'm...glad to see thee remember me" She said.
"Of course! I… *Hiccup* Never forgot our first encounter!".
"Umm…Zoë who Is that?" Calliphone asked, but before Zoë could respond.
"Ah!" The Drunk Captain turned his attention to the rest of them.
"And These are the rest of the Hunters of Artemis I presume".
To be shocked that a mortal knew of their existence was unexpected, which Is why most of the Hunters grew weary of the man. Knives at hands for any kind of trick.
"Indeed," Said Alexa, "And who are you old man?".
The Old Captain was taken back by the question. As he raised his right hand high In the air, and bowed before them.
"Why my dear lass *Hiccup* I am Captain Robert Faulkner, at your Service".
They all turned to meet Zoë's gaze.
"We...I bumped into him a couple years back. When he was-".
"Ambush!" The Captain rudely interrupted.
"I was surrounded by Red Coats! Those bloody bastards shot me on the leg!" He said, while doing some theatrical stuff.
"Wounded and Exhausted! My life was about to be ended" he said as his head was lowered to the ground. Before snapping upwards with a smile.
"But then! A Huntress came, with bow and arrow she shot them down! Rescuing me" He said while his hand was on his chest, and his eyes looked with gratitude at Zoë.
Calliphone noticed how Zoë took an Interest at the ground, and how her cheeks turned crimson.
"As I laid to the ground, my eyes looked at the sky. I tried to say my last words to my savior! Thank you I had tried to say! Thank you for saving me! And as I closed my eyes, I had finally tasted the sweetness of heaven, and It's delight. So much that God healed my wounds, and made my soul young again! From that day forth I owe my eternal gratitude to my guardian Angel! Cheers! *Hiccup*".
As the Old Captain finished his tale. Every Hunter looked stunned at their Lieutenant, and how she had actually saved a man's life.
"How...I-I mean!" Chloe's mind tried to place things together.
"I'm...Impressed" Said Calliphone with a smirk.
Zoë blushed even more "L-Let's focus on what we came for".
"Agreed," Said Alexa, and Maria nodded along.
"Captain!" Zoë called out.
"Aye! Miss!".
"Do you still have your ship?".
The Old Captain scoffed.
"If I still have my ship! Ha! But of course Miss Nightshade! The Best Ship in all the Seven Seas!". He said, waving his hand around.
"Then we need your Services, Captain".
"And that you Shall Have! A hoi Lads!" The Captain turned around to a group of men.
"It Is time for us to sail! As the Sea calls us for an Adventure!".
The crew cheered with excitement as they rose from their seats and walked outside the door of the Inn.
The Captain started walking towards it, before slightly turning towards them.
"Come Ladies! It's time to meet her!" He said as he walked out slowly towards the door.
Zoë shook her head as she made her way out. Alexa came beside her, and said.
"Can we trust him?".
Zoë smiled "Yes, that thee can".
Though their Lieutenant reassured them that It was safe, most of them didn't.
Calliphone tagged behind them.
"Let's go," She said with excitement, as she couldn't wait to meet the Sea.
The walk to the harbor wasn't as pleasant as they thought It was, as well as arriving at the harbor. To Calliphone's disappointment it was small, and the air smelled of rotten fish. Chloe had walked to the side just to throw up.
At the base of the harbor were loads of ships and boats, small and big. However, at the corner, she saw the largest of them sticking out.
It's masts reached high to the sky, Sails white as the clouds. It's length long enough to have more than 200 people. It's decks were about Three, and from what she could calculate. There were more than 44 cannons. It's ram was long and pointy enough to destroy anything on Its path, and It's color a mix of dark blue, and green. On Its back Its name appeared, The Aquila.
"There she Is!" Captain Faulkner said.
"The Aquila. She has seen her fair share of action, and It's wheel has been handed to by the best captains of Its generation".
"It's, It's beautiful," Calliphone said.
"Ain't she Lass, she's known as the Ghost of the North Sea, and with a good reason. Who knows, you might be able to help her fly it during our expedition".
"Really!".
"Aye! As long as you follow my instructions, you will be fine".
"Captain! It's time for us to go!". Said Zoë.
"Aye! Climb Aboard!" He shouted, and his men followed suit. Barrels of gunpowder, pistols, rifles, ammunition, and supplies were loaded that could last a year.
"Come" Zoë said to them.
As they were about to walk the board towards the ship.
"No no no no!" Captain Faulkner stopped them "Your first step Is always the right! Never the left, It brings bad luck".
Each Hunter rolled their eyes at the Captain's superstition.
As they boarded the Aquila, Calliphone noticed how the crew looked at them with weary eyes. Even one of them said.
"Lasses on a ship. That's bad luck".
Alexa was ready to punch the guy's face, but was held back by Hemithea and Parthenos.
"Listen up Lads!" The Old Man shouted beside them.
"These fine Ladies here are on a Quest, and we! Are to assist them! Now most of you that are uncomfortable with this! Well you might as well leave! As these women are capable of killing the lot of ya In a single minute! And they have the right to be here! Aye!".
A small response of "Aye" was heard, but Calliphone knew that most of the crew didn't trust them. As they needed to earn It.
"Alright then!" Captain Faulkner said, as he turned to Zoë.
"What Is our destination Miss!".
"Set course for Nantucket Captain".
"Nantucket! Ha!" The Old Man scoffed "We will be there In no time! Ahoy Lads! Set Course for Nantucket!".
The Sailors run around the deck, some of them dragging up an old Anchor. Others climbed above to let loose the sails, and others pulled ropes that were attached to the land. Calliphone was amazed at the organization they had.
"Come Ladies, this way" The Captain said. As he guided them towards the wheel of the Ship. From where they were standing they could see everything, and as the wind picked up. The Aquila moved.
"Steady as she goes!".
As the Aquila sailed out of harbor, the Ships sails were released, and even on the sides two more mast were sticking out with more sails. The ship got faster, and the waves couldn't keep up with It.
Calliphone and her Sisters were amazed by It. The Speed, the Wind, and Sea. All collaborating as one, and The Aquila sailed through them with ease.
Calliphone's gut told her that the journey would be one of her most extraordinary experiences she would ever have.
2 Hours Later
The Thrill, the Excitement, and the Passion for the Quest, were all gone. No one had told Calliphone, that the feeling she felt in her gut. Wasn't the love for the Sea, but the realization of Seasickness.
For Two hours, her stomach battled to remain calm, but the constant shaking of the Aquila. Made It worse, even now when they were docked at the port of Nantucket.
She still felt the nausea, and the color of her face leaving. Now she was facing downwards to the side of the Ship. Her Sisters, Alexa and Maria were comforting her as much as possible.
"It's going to be alright" Maria said while patting her on the back.
"Indeed, don't worry. It's just the fresh air you need to summarize with" Said Alexa.
Calliphone shook her head, weakly.
"How...can...both of you not get Seasick?" Sha asked halfway groaning. All of them felt It, the weakening feeling of their legs, their stomachs turning. Poor Chloe had the worst, as she had to stay below deck, and recover on her own paste.
"We…" Alexa started, as she glanced at Maria, before saying "Are just natural with the Sea".
"That's...so...unfair". Calliphone groaned.
In the meantime, Zoë had taken Hemithea, Parthenos, and the Old Captain ashore. From what she recalled, Zoë had another contact that was able to give them the information about anyone that went out Hunting for Whales.
As the Sun started to set downwards, the party that went out, came back. Only for them to notice how the Old Captain was In Deep Thoughts.
"Come, Let's go to my Quartets and talk".
As they entered Inside, Calliphone noticed Two particular things about the Old Man's Quarters. And no it wasn't the familiar smell of Booze, but the rare collection of every Impossible Bottle on every shelf he had. Bottles that Inside of them were all types of ships that couldn't fit through the bottle's mouth.
The Second was the large wooden table with a large Map laying on top of It. The map depicted the New World. From the Northern Parts of Canada, to the Southern Parts of Argentina.
"Right, let's get to business," Said Captain Faulkner as he made his way towards the table. Calliphone and her Sisters followed.
"We have a defined Infinite Information as who have set sail in these past few weeks. Now, the Ships names are, the Liberty, the Duchess, and the Essex. Three Ships, all of them the sizes of a Frigate" He said In total Concentration.
"Now! We also know the trade routes that they have taken" Captain Faulkner announced, as Zoë picked up where he left.
"The Liberty has taken the route towards Kingston, near the Caribbean. The Duchess has taken the route towards Mexico. As for the Essex…". Zoë stopped with a hint of nervousness.
"Has taken the route towards the South of America. My Instincts tell me that they are planning on going to the other side. Meaning at the South East of the Pacific. But to go there they need to take-".
"Magellan Passageway" Calliphone Finished.
The Old Captain was Astonished at Calliphone's Intelligence.
"Aye" He said.
"Sisters" Zoë drew their attention.
"This journey might take us more than a year. If any of thee feel the need to step out of this Quest. Then they have the right to do so".
None said anything, Instead Calliphone answered for them.
"We stick together, as a Family".
The rest nodded as they would never leave. Zoë smiled warmly at them.
"Good, then prepare yourselves Sisters, as we have a long Hunt ahead of us".
They all agreed as they dispersed outside, leaving Zoë and Old Man Faulkner alone.
"The girl" Said the Captain "Calliphone, Is a special one. I can feel that she has been raised differently from the rest of us".
"Yes, she has" Said Zoë "She also has the ability to see dreams. Though true or not, I am not certain".
"Mhm that as may be, but If anyone can tell It Is her" He said with Confidence "Now if you forgive Miss! But I need to set course for Kingston".
"Indeed Captain, and let's hope the Sea will favor us" Said Zoë.
"Ha! That she shall! Besides, I am still a favorite prodigal Legacy of Neptune!" The Old Captain Laughed, before leaving to give the orders.
Zoë sighed as she sat herself down on one of many chairs. Before contemplating on what to do next. As she knew the Journey would be Long, Hard, and she had looked after her Sisters more than ever. At least she wouldn't be alone on that task.
Her eyes started to feel heavy, and her eyelids started to close on their own. She didn't resist, as she took the opportunity, and slept for the remaining hours she had.
