Chapter 525: Cutty Sark 2

Tuesday, February 21st, Afternoon

After meeting at her job, they drove into town in silence. He looked over at her, and she was staring off out the passenger door window. Her hands were in her lap. He nodded as the light turned green.

Nathan pulled into the parking lot. They pulled up to the valet parking. Haley got out of the SUV with the helping hand of one of the valets. Nathan got out from behind the wheel, handed the fob to a valet, and walked over to meet Haley. They walked arm and arm into the Cutty Sark 2.

At the hostess station, the hostess looked at them. "Welcome to Cutty Sark Two, Mister and Missus Scott," The Hostess said.

"We have a reservation for a private room," Nathan said.

The hostess looked at the book and looked up. "You have a party of three," she said.

"That is correct," Haley said.

"Would you like to wait for the rest of your party, or would you like to be seated?" the hostess said.

"I'll seat them," someone said.

Everyone turned to see Jackie Gregory, the maître d'hôtel, standing there.

"Are you sure?" the hostess asked.

Jackie nodded, "I'm sure," she said, "please follow me."

Jackie grabbed some menus and headed off. Nathan and Haley followed Jackie. As they walked through the dining room, Nathan noted that the room had the usual mid-day crowd. Some ladies were having lunch. Several tables had business having business meetings and lunches. Nathan also noted several random groups of people enjoying the fair.

Jackie led them to a small private room. Nathan and Haley took their seats at the table next to each other. Haley put her bag on the floor next to her chair. Nathan opened his menu and waited.

The door to the dining room was still open. Nathan looked out the door and into the bar. Sitting at the far end of the bar was a tall brown hair sat there; he wore a black polo shirt. Nathan nodded and lowered his head to read the menu.

After a moment, Nathan noticed Jackie walking into the private dining room. Standing next to Jackie, in a conservative dress, the woman had dark brown hair and striking cat green eyes. The woman, named Miléna Venczel, walked into the private dining room and took a seat across from Nathan and Haley.

A busboy came over and filled up three glasses of water. Finally, the busboy left the room; Jackie closed the door behind her. The three sets of eyes looked across the table at each other. Miléna finally looked at Nathan.

"You called for this, how shall we call it, meeting," Miléna said.

"Yes, I did," Nathan said, "We did."

"So, what is this about?" Miléna asked.

"Stuff we need to talk about," Haley said.

"But first, let us enjoy lunch. The chef Anna Gregory is excellent; the Atlantic Salmon is her specialty," Nathan said.

"Thank you," Miléna said, "But I am not interested in being wined and dined."

"What are you interested in?" Haley asked.

"Meaning what?" Miléna asked.

"Where would you like to live? What do you enjoy doing for a living?" Haley asked.

"I thought we were discussing Krisztofer and his future," Miléna said.

"He is how old?" Haley asked.

"Nine-Year-old, Mrs. Scott," Miléna said.

"That's James-Scott, and right now, his future is also your future," Haley said.

"That's a true statement; I would assume," Miléna said.

"So, what would you like to do for a living?" Haley asked.

"Find a job, and put Krisztofer through school," Miléna said, "If I have to, I'll dance again."

"You'd go back to dancing?" Haley asked.

"Why not? It's honest work," Miléna said.

"Is it safe work?" Haley asked.

"As safe as any job," Miléna said.

"Miléna, we can find you a good job," Haley said.

The door opened, and a waitress walked in, closing the door behind her. She walked to the end of the table.

"Can we start y'all with some drinks?" the waitress asked.

"I'll stick to the water," Haley said.

"The same," Nathan said.

"Me too," Miléna said.

"Would there be anything else?" the waitress asked.

"I would like to order now," Miléna said.

"How about the rest of y'all?" the waitress asked.

"We're ready," Haley said.

They ordered lunch, and the waitress left. Haley leaned forward to say something. Nathan put his arm out to stop her.

"I see you're straight to business type of woman," Nathan said.

"Not a point of wasting time," Miléna said.

"You remember we had some tests run," Nathan said.

"Yes, tests to prove Krisztofer is Brian's son," Miléna said.

"Yes, that test," Haley said.

"We have the results back," Nathan said.

"So, what are they?" Miléna asked.

Nathan nodded, "Yes, we have them," he said.

"What were the results, Mister Scott?" Miléna asked.

"Krisztofer is Brian's son," Nathan said.

"I told you so," Miléna said.

Haley leaned down and pulled up her bag. She set the bag down on her lap and opened it. Haley pulled out a file, placed it on the table, then slid it over to Miléna.

"We're not trying to buy your silence," Haley said.

"So, what is this?" Miléna asked.

"Medical records, some legal documents, and such," Nathan said.

"Legal documents?" Miléna asked.

"Stuff that is involved with Brian's estate, and a few other things. There is also a card for our lawyer if you have any questions. We also suggest our lawyer if you have any questions. We also suggest you have a lawyer look everything over," Nathan said.

"What is this about?" Miléna asked.

"The future," Nathan said.

"Yes, the future, our future together," Haley said and nodded as the dining-room door opened with their lunch.
