Chapter 83: Super Vegeta
On the sidelines...
Raditz was in a foul mood as he landed, sitting on a nearby ledge and rubbing his head from an on-coming headache. As he sat there for a moment, rubbing his head, two people landed behind him on the ledge. He turned and saw Future Trunks and Future Daikon, both looking serious and his son looking concerned. Future Daikon knelt next to him. "You okay, Dad? What happened...?"
The elder brother scowled and jerked his head away, a blush on his face. "I don't want to talk about it. So drop it..."
He grumbled. "I swear, if Vegeta screws up then Cell is mine..."
Future Daikon sighed and pat his father on the back before standing and looking over to Future Trunks. Future Trunks was staring directly ahead at his father and Cell standing across from one another. The boy firmly nodded his head, remembering his time with Vegeta in the Time Chamber. "You've got this, Father. I believe in you."
Future Daikon seemed a bit more nervous. "I wonder where Android 17 is. I hate to say it, considering who he is, but I hope he's somewhere safe..."
Raditz glared forward, tapping his finger against the scar that bisected his eyebrow in two. "Relax...I'm annoyed that I didn't get my shot...but I feel safe in saying that Vegeta has this well in hand..."
In the forest, on the same island...
Krillin stared in shock at who was facing down Cell. "I-Is that really Vegeta? He-"
At that moment, Android 17 shoved Krillin aside. Seeing the bastard that had taken his sister, 17 was ready to attack. He looked furious as he started to fly. "I'll kill that-"
But, before he could get too far away, a hand wrapped around 17's ankle and held him steady. He turned and scowled at Krillin. "What do you think you're doing?!"
Krillin shook his head. "You don't stand a chance, 17! Cell will eat you alive if you jump in there right now!"
16 groaned. "I... agree with our traveling companion, 17. The most intelligent course of action would be to simply stay hidden and allow Vegeta to handle Cell. It would be suicide for us to face that monster...but something is different in regards to Vegeta..."
17 scoffed. "Are you kidding me?! Even if Vegeta trained non-stop for the past three days, what difference would that make?! 18 beat him senseless and now Cell's absorbed 18! So, what difference could that little time have made to allow Vegeta to stand up to a freak like Cell?!"
Krillin spoke up. "I've been watching Saiyans gain incredible boost in power for my entire life. It's not hard to think that this new power Vegeta has is the real deal."
17 sneered. "That still doesn't make a difference! That monster stole away the most important person in my life from me! I should be the one to fight him!"
16 shook his head. "17, I am asking to please...just stand back for now. There is no logical explanation for Vegeta's newfound confidence and power...but I feel as if we should just stand clear and allow him to work..."
On the battlefield...
Vegeta smirked as he stood across from Cell, waves crashing against the rocks next to him. "So, this is the bio-Android clone monstrosity from the future I've been told so much about, eh?"
The Prince cocked his head. "I suppose you have the potential to be able to kill people...assuming you count scaring people to death with that ugly mug as securing a kill~"
Cell narrowed his eyes. "Ah, yes. A barbed comment from the diminutive, petulant prince himself~! Tell me Vegeta, you are aware that my status as a 'clone monstrosity' includes me having samples of your genetic information within me, right?"
The monster held his hands out wide, stomping all six of his clomping feet on the ground. "Which, of course, means that there is nothing you can do that I have not anticipated and am able to do myself..."
Vegeta snorted. "I hardly believe a stupid-looking beast such as yourself has my genes. You'd certainly be smarter than this. But you certainly have some power...so I suppose I'll give you the benefit of the doubt..."
The Prince cracked his neck. "But I suppose that if you truly are a variation of me, even if you are muddled by the inferior genes of others, you'll be a fun enough challenge to test my new power."
Cell laughed. "As always, Vegeta, you're little more than a desperate cretin. Always feeling the need to prove yourself out of fear of losing even an inch of ground. It is going to be sweet, indeed, to watch as you crumble before me~"
Vegeta let loose a light sigh. "Oh, you pathetic jumble of spare parts...Raditz really could have killed you if he didn't foolish wind himself~"
Cell shook his head. "Vegeta, I must be honest with you...in addition to gaining the abilities of my various donors, I have also gained their temperaments to an extent. And the Frieza in me is yearning to slaughter every Saiyan on this planet!"
He scowled. "So that is enough banter! I will now kill you, and then Raditz and those other onlookers..."
Vegeta glanced back, ignoring Cell, and spied Future Trunks and Future Daikon. "Oh, they finally caught up..."
Cell hissed. "...and then, once all of the others are dead...I'll hunt down that infant of yours and snap his little neck! Bulma too~"
Vegeta glared back at Cell, the flames of anger briefly flickering in his eyes. But then, his calm demeanor returned and he gave a sinister chuckle. Vegeta took a deep breath...and then his power flared to an unbelievable level.
The Prince bellowed at the top of his lungs, roaring with fury as his power flared out around him. Clouds of dust were kicked up and the ground shredded as Vegeta's muscles bulged out wide, and then shrunk to a more manageable size. His power settled and Vegeta seethed. "I agree, Cell. The time for talk is over..."
And then, in and instant, Vegeta cleared the space between himself and Cell and rammed his fist into the monster's stomach. Cell wretched, lurching forward. As he stood there, gasping and trying to figure out what happened. Vegeta chuckled. "As I implied before, fool...you are doomed!"
Cell gurgled as Vegeta's fist pressed even deeper into his gut. Vegeta shook his head. "Ah, forgive me, I have yet to fully adjust to the power of this form. I tend to go a bit too hard and sometimes lack the ability to pull my punches. What do you think I should call this ability? Ascended Super Saiyan? Super Saiyan Second Grade? Or was I on the money calling it Super Vegeta~?"
Vegeta glared at Cell. "Allow me to help you retreat~"
And then, Vegeta's eyes widened and he shot and Invisible Eye Blast that hit Cell like a truck. Cell cringed backwards and Vegeta ripped his fist from the monster's torso. He followed that up by switching to the other fist and upper-cutting the monster straight under the chin, causing him to fly back and crash into a heap on the ground.
It took a moment to regain his bearings, but the monster stood and wiped blood from the corner of his mouth. "Don't get cocky, runt! You got in two lucky hits! That's-"
Vegeta didn't bother to let him finish. He simply raised his hands up and fired a massive blast that engulfed Cell and shot into the air. Vegeta crossed his arms and watched as the monster went screaming into the air. "Ugh...this is going to no challenge at all..."
It took him a second, but Cell finally managed to get a hold on the blast pushing him skyward. And then, with some quick maneuvering, he managed to whip around and toss the blast into the stratosphere. Cell glowered down at Vegeta as the attack exploded behind him. "You little bastard..."
Cell gripped his fists, taking a second to blink his eyes. "You will learn not to be cocky with-"
In that instant, Cell lost track of his foe. With a mere blink of his eyes, Cell looked on in shock as the spot where Vegeta was standing suddenly was left bare. Cell glanced around on the island. "Huh, what?! Where did he-"
A hand reached out and tapped the back of Cell's head. The monster quickly turned, but was met with a harsh kick to the jaw. Vegeta smirked and then went at Cell with full force. He battered the monster through the air, landing punch after punch all across the creature's outer shell and leaving all manner of dents and bruises. Cell snarled with rage and tried to retaliate with a punch of his own, but Vegeta simply dodged and smashed Cell in the side of the head with a two-handed clubbing blow. Vegeta laughed. "Tell me! Why shouldn't I be cocky?!"
Vegeta launched a punch directly into Cell's mouth, busting off one of his mandibles, and then sent the monster flying backwards with a kick to the throat. Cell coughed and Vegeta crossed his arms over his chest, letting the monster gather himself. Tears were built in Cell's eyes from how hard Vegeta kicked him in the throat. Vegeta smirked. "Are we upset?"
Cell snarled at Vegeta, baring his fangs at the Saiyan. Vegeta chuckled and pointed to the side of his mouth, non-verbally reminding Cell of his broken mandible. Cell regenerated the broken appendage and began to shake with anger. "You...I'll kill you! Do you understand me Vegeta?!"
The monster's body began to erupt with energy as he powered up. "I'M ALREADY IN A FOUL MOOD OVER LOSING TRACK OF ANDROID 17! SO, I CAN GUARANTEE YOU THAT YOU ARE ONLY DIGGING YOUR OWN GRAVE HERE!"
The water under Cell began to shake and roil. The sea was looking stormy as the monster's anger grew. Vegeta smirked. "So, you're still hiding some power huh? I suppose everyone is nowadays. How gauche."
Cell's power flared out and he immediately charged Vegeta, his fist drawn. Vegeta stood there, his eyebrow raised in anticipation. Cell's fist smashed into Vegeta's face and sent him launching back. With Vegeta sent flying, the monster rushed towards him once again. He got above Vegeta and slammed down on the Saiyan's back, smashing him to the ground below. And then, Cell landed atop Vegeta and began to harshly stomp on the Prince with all six of his massive feet. The sound of Cell's feet stomping down sounded like a series of heavy pistons going off in sequence. Once that was done, Cell leapt off of the Saiyan to view his handywork. He was sure that Vegeta was reduced to nothing more than hamburger meat.
But Cell was quickly shocked. Vegeta sat up, looking content. He stretched and sighed. "Ah, my back was feeling pretty tight. But I had to immediately head this way to deal with you, so I couldn't get the woman to give me a proper back massage..."
Vegeta leapt up and chuckled. "Thank you for the service Cell; here's your payment~"
And then, at high-speed, Vegeta launched forward and gave Cell and massive right hook that threw him off of the edge of the cliff. Cell immediately started to fly, but Vegeta was right there. The Prince smashed his elbow into Cell's chest and Cell gasped in pain. But, before Vegeta could throw another punch, Cell retaliated with a Mouth Blast. He used this attack to launch Vegeta into the side of the cliff, making the entire thing crack and start to crumble. Cell chuckled. "Did that one massage your back, you little shit?!"
An explosion rang out from the side of the cliff, a massive burst of energy. And then, Vegeta rose up from the dust and started to brush himself off. He smirked at Cell. "Well, you managed to scuff up the new armor that Bulma made; so, I suppose that you achieved something..."
Cell recoiled in shock. He was powered up to nearly his maximum and Vegeta was barely fazed. Vegeta cocked his head. "So, would you like a break? You seem like you need a break..."
Cell roared like an angry bear and charged at Vegeta. He threw left hooks and right hooks, trying his best to damage his foe. But, Vegeta simply feinted away from each mighty blow. He looked as if he wasn't even trying. Cell went for another punch and Vegeta dodged, and then he rushed in and smashed the monster across the face with a heavy strike to the jaw. Cell went reeling back and Vegeta tried to follow up, but he was suddenly held in place. Cell held up his hands and chortled. "There's a dwarf among your ranks. Pale, about as short as you, hangs around Tien. His name is Chiaotzu, if you didn't know~"
Vegeta looked unimpressed. "I don't think I've ever said a direct word to that one before..."
Cell chuckled. "Well Vegeta, perhaps this is a sign that you should get to know the people on your side~"
The massive insect monster held up his hands, making his fingernails grow to the lengths of daggers. The monster lunged forward. "I'll make sure to tell Chiaotzu to talk to you when I send him to Hell!"
Vegeta sighed as Cell loomed over him, getting ready to slash him. But then, to his surprise, Vegeta simply jerked free of the telekinetic hold and delivered a double kick to the stomach than sent Cell flying higher into the air. Vegeta shook his head. "Worry not. I'm sure your attempt at holding me in place was at least as effective as the dwarf's attempt would have been."
Cell was breathing heavy. Vegeta rose up in the air to his level and smirked. "You're out of breath. Feeling weak, perhaps? Maybe a bit faint?"
Cell snarled. "No!"
And then, he flared his power again. Taking a moment to let his rage subside, Cell chuckled. "You know that you're fighting a losing fight. Don't you, Vegeta?"
Vegeta laughed. "Oh, am I? I didn't notice..."
Cell nodded. "Well, you are. Not only do I have your genes and the genes of Frieza, but I have Piccolo's genes as well. You could attack me all day, but I will always be able to heal! And the genes I've taken from you Saiyans will allow me to grow and improve all-the-while! This is a fruitless endeavor! If I can't beat you right now, I certainly will when you're exhausted!"
Vegeta cocked his head. "Oh, am I the one breathing heavy? I must be confused. From my point of view, you're becoming less formidable by the second..."
The Prince smirked. "But more importantly, Cell...the opposite of what you said could be true as well..."
Cell sneered. "What?!"
Vegeta glared at him with sadistic glee. "You said you can keep healing from damage I inflict. And that's all well and good for you. But, the sad part of that is that I can just keep using you as a punching bag. We could keep this going for hours...maybe even days if I keep finding entertainment in tormenting you..."
And then, Vegeta continued his attack. He rushed at Cell and hammered into the monster with several more strikes, chuckling as the beast attempted to defend himself. Countless bruises and pock marks covered Cell's body. Cell attempted to throw a punch back, but Vegeta caught his hand. He heaved the giant, insectoid bastard over his shoulder and whipped him towards the ground. Adding on an extra axe kick for good measure, Vegeta sent Cell spiking through the ground below and down into the water. The Prince chuckled as cracks spread along the ground. "I suppose I could go for a swim..."
On the sidelines...
Raditz, Future Trunks, and Future Daikon watched as Vegeta plunged into the water. And then, once Vegeta disappeared from sight, they turned their attention to the fact that Vegeta had used Cell to sever the ledge they were sitting on from the rest of the island. Raditz grunted. "He did that on purpose. Asshole..."
And then, he and the two future teens rose into the air and stared down at the roiling ocean below. Future Daikon nodded. "At least Vegeta seems to have this all well in hand. Cell hasn't had the advantage once..."
Future Trunks stared intently at the water. "Maybe I'm off base here...but is Cell getting weaker?"
Future Daikon flinched. "What...?"
Future Trunks crossed his arms over his chest. "It's subtle, but Cell is...slipping. And I can't tell what's going on..."
Raditz rolled his eyes. "Maybe Vegeta's attitude is just breaking Cell's confidence."
Future Trunks and Future Daikon both looked over as Raditz scratched the scar that bisected his eyebrow. As they hovered there, a massive geyser of water shot from the sea. And then another. And then another. Progressively, the fight got further and further away from the island. Future Daikon nodded. "I think I sense what you mean now. But, what does that mean...?"
Raditz sighed. "Just watch and be ready in case we need to step in, boys."
On the Lookout...
Bulma stood there, tending to Baby Trunks as the infant slumbered away against her chest. She didn't look up from her son. "So, he's winning, then? I mean...I could've told you that. Vegeta's no weakling. He's helplessly reckless, but he's not weak by any means..."
Tien swallowed a lump in his throat. "So, that's what a year in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber can do? Maybe I should consider a trip into that place for myself..."
Bulma smiled, looking over at all of the others standing on the edge of the Lookout, all of them staring down to the world below. She chuckled. "You could probably get that strong too, Tien. I believe in ya~"
Gine watched below with a concerned look on her face. "What...is he doing...?"
Mr. Popo nodded. "It is quite the strategy he's using. Such a subtle technique..."
Kami and Piccolo stood on either side of Mr. Popo. Kami sighed with relief. "Perhaps, the mistakes that our egos allowed will be fixed by Vegeta. While I personally do not care for his attitude, I would be quite grateful is he were able to successfully shoulder such a burden..."
Piccolo snarled. "This is just going to make his ego bloat even more..."
Gine flinched back. "Ouch..."
Bulma cocked her head. "What happened?"
Gine scratched the back of her head. "Vegeta just ripped off...never mind..."
Bulma smirked. "That's my husband. He's gonna kill that monster and save the planet~"
On the battlefield...
Cell hid behind a coral reef, reaching up to his neck and yanking out his own, severed stinger. He gripped the torn appendage tightly and then tossed it aside. 'Arrogant Saiyan filth. How dare he...?'
The monster glanced around the deep-sea currents. 'Where did he go...?'
Cell glanced around, looking for his foe. Little did he notice the shifting sands beneath his feet. As Cell continued to look around, Vegeta rose from the silt and smirked. And then, he held his hand up and charged a blast aimed directly at the back of Cell's head. He spoke, his voice warbled by the water. "BIG BANG ATTACK!"
Cell whipped around just in time to take the blast to the chest. He shot across the sea floor and smashed into a coral reef, crushing it to pieces. Cell snarled and, as Vegeta charged at him, started to fire a Continuous Energy Blast at the Prince. Vegeta weaved through the blasts with ease and laid into Cell with a devastating kick to the face, followed by a punch to the gut, followed by a left uppercut that was joined in succession by a right uppercut.
The monster roared in frustration, his body warping and twisting. And then, another Cell shot out from Cell's back. Vegeta flinched back and the new Cell took the advantage, hitting the ground behind Vegeta and wrapping his arms around the Prince to trap him in a bearhug. The new Cell gurgled and spoke. "The Split Form Technique, courtesy of Piccolo~"
The original Cell smirked and twisted his hands to the side. "And now to kill you, you fool! Kamehameha!"
Vegeta shrugged. And then, his Ascended Super Saiyan power flared. With but a fraction of his might, Vegeta forced the Split Form Cell to let him go by ripping its arms off. And then, Vegeta grabbed the behemoth bug by the face and threw him into the oncoming blast. The beam exploded in a fantastic display, and the Vegeta came charging through the smoke and smashed Cell in the stomach with his elbow. Cell recoiled in pain, and then Vegeta followed that up by kicking him straight up and out of the water.
Following closely behind, Vegeta emerged from the sea and took a deep breath. "Such an embarrassment! Can you believe that a lack of oxygen has come closer to killing me in this fight than you have?!"
Cell hovered there, dripping wet. His body hadn't suffered any major damage beyond bruises and scrapes, but his ego was crumbling. Cell gritted his teeth and gripped his fists. "How did you become this strong?! How?!"
He shouted. "I COULD SENSE YOUR FIGHT WITH ANDROID 18! SHE EMBARASSED YOU! AND NOW I HAVE HER WITHIN ME! SO HOW ARE YOU ABLE TO FIGHT ME LIKE THIS?!"
Vegeta smirked and shook the water out of his hair. "You want to know my secret? Well...maybe it's just that I do a lot of push-ups and sit-ups. And I drink plenty of juice~"
Cell seethed. "Are you mocking me?!"
Vegeta chuckled. "Maybe the problem is on your end? Perhaps Dr. Gero forgot to carry a three when he was designing you, or something?"
Cell was trembling with anger. "No... I am strong! I know I am! It's you! What happened to you?!"
Vegeta looked down on Cell. "I trained all day yesterday~"
Cell snapped. He screamed in frustration and charged at Vegeta, but Vegeta simply dodged over his punch and then kicked him in the back of the neck, launching him to a sandbar below. Cell was livid. Vegeta landed and crossed his arms. "You know, for a being with six legs, I was expecting you'd be more in-step. Your movements are so sloppy I could see them coming with my eyes closed..."
The monster sneered. "You...you might be slightly stronger than me. But...you're still just a single-minded nobody. You hear me? I'm still smarter than you! More tactical...I-"
Vegeta stepped forward and Cell flinched back. The Prince smirked. "I'll give you that you might be smarter than you look. Sometimes running away is the smartest option~"
Cell snarled. "You..."
And then, he leaned forward and fired a pair of Eye Beams directly at the Prince. Vegeta chuckled and smacked them away with little fanfare. Cell flinched and started to charge blasts into his hands. "You're not invincible! I have to have something that can kill you!"
The monster began to fire on the Saiyan. "Scatter Shot!"
Vegeta started to march forward, dodging around the various blasts and slapping a few away for good measure. Cell yelped at the sight of Vegeta getting closer. He thought for a moment, and then he threw his arms to the side and summoned two gigantic blasts. "Sugar Ignite!"
The blasts came forward and Vegeta fired a blast to dispel them. "Are you nearly-"
As the smoke cleared, Cell smirked. He clamped his hands together and fired off a ring of energy that surrounded Vegeta. The Saiyan Prince began to shrink and Cell chuckled triumphantly. "Sealed Light Beam!"
As Vegeta shrank, Cell rushed forward and grabbed the sphere the Prince was stuck in. "Now I have you! You're trapped!"
Vegeta looked annoyed. And then, he flared out his power and made the sphere he was trapped in burst. Cell flinched back in shock as Vegeta rapidly grew back to normal size, and then ate a kick to the face for his trouble. Cell went bouncing and Vegeta caught up, unleashing a massive flurry of punches on the monster, battering him through the air and then smashing him into the ground for good effort. Cell tried to push himself up, but Vegeta pressed him to the ground by stomping on the back of his head. The Prince looked confused. "I know you steal any technique that you can get your grubby little mitts on...but where in the hell did you learn Makyan techniques?!"
As Cell struggled under foot, Vegeta cocked his head to think. "Wait...Bulma told me about Makyans showing up on Earth. I think..."
Realizing that his head was trapped, Cell took an alternate strategy. He pushed himself up and arched his back so that his reduced stinger, on the end of his abdomen, could stab at his Saiyan foe. Vegeta, growing annoyed with Cell's tricks, drew his fist back and punched the abdomen hard, making is shudder and jiggle before slamming back into the sand. "Really?! We're still trying that pathetic stunt?! Can you at least act as if you're above a cheap win, you utter disgrace?!"
Vegeta leapt back and struck a fighting stance. "Come on then, get up! We aren't done here!"
Cell was furious. He quickly raised his hand into the air and formed a ki blast, before smashing it down into the ground and kicking up a dust storm. Vegeta groaned in disappointment as the cloud overtook him. He closed his eyes, feeling around. Cell still had the ability to totally mask his energy signature and presence, but there was one thing he couldn't mask. Vegeta listened close and eventually heard the faintest of sounds. And then he sprang up and kneed Cell right under his jaw.
Cell snarled. "H-How?! I hid myself away!"
Vegeta grabbed him by the throat and punched him in the face three times. "You might be able to hide your energy, but you're still an unwieldy, bloated insect! I might not be a Namekian, but I can hear!"
Cell snapped at Vegeta. "Then try this! Destructo-"
Vegeta zipped forward in an instant and smashed his knee directly into Cell's face. He followed that with a flurry of punches and then a hammering blow that sent Cell flying into the air. "I was waiting for the short one's signature technique to be pulled out! I'll give him one thing, he created quite the devastating attack! If only the set-up wasn't so easy to read!"
Cell was shaking with rage. His thoughts were racing. He had to think of some way to get to Vegeta. But then, a thought popped into his head and Cell smiled wide. He whipped towards Vegeta, put his fists forward, and charged towards him wreathed in a purple aura. "NOVA STRIKE!"
Vegeta growled, blocking the attack with both hands and forcing Cell into a halt. The monster laughed out loud. "Tell me, Vegeta! Does this technique seem familiar to you! Does it remind you of somebody from your past, perhaps?!"
The Prince slugged Cell across the face. "Was it supposed to?!"
Cell's smile faded. "Perhaps this then?! Death Beam!"
The beam went shooting from Cell's finger and directly towards Vegeta, but Vegeta slapped it away. "Is that all? Any other moves you wish to try that failed to kill me?!"
Cell was angry. "How about this then?!"
He raised his hand into the air, extending one finger and charging a sphere of ki above it. "DEATH BALL!"
Cell threw the blast as Vegeta with force. As it hurled towards the Prince, Cell smirked. Surely this attack, one of Frieza's most devastating moves, would be effective against the Prince. However, to Cell's horror, Vegeta simply caught the blast. As Cell hovered there, speechless, Vegeta examined the energy sphere as he held it in his hands. "I've witnessed Frieza destroy planets with this attack. This single sphere was the dread of all those under the Frieza Force's thumb, once upon a time..."
He glared at Cell. "But, now..."
Vegeta crushed the attack in his hand. The sheer force of the energy being released sent harsh winds blowing out across the entire area. Massive waves crested up and crashed back down and trees on the nearby islands capsized over. Cell was shaking; not in anger, but in fear. And then, wordlessly, Vegeta zoomed across the sky and kicked Cell in the stomach hard enough to launch him back to their original battleground and through several rocky structures.
Cell came to a rest on the ground and laid motionless. And then, soon enough, he was joined by Vegeta. Who was joined in turn by Raditz, Future Trunks, and Future Daikon all watching from a nearby plateau.
Within Kame House...
Within Kame House, Launch and Ox-King continued to care for Chi-Chi as she laid unconscious on the futon that Goku had once rested on. Launch pressed a cool rag to Chi-Chi's forehead and then took a moment to check on a slumbering Baby Ranch. "I hope she's okay. She's been unconscious since that typhoon earlier..."
Ox-King nodded. "I hope so too. This is no time for her to get sick, not this far into a pregnancy. Her mother was like this during her pregnancy and after she gave birth to Chi-Chi, I don't-"
Launch cut him off. "We can't think like that! Chi-Chi is a strong woman, Ox! We just have to take care of her and whatever is wrong will get better!
Ox-King nodded and made his way into the kitchen to get some cool water in case Chi-Chi woke up and needed a drink. "Right. You're right..."
As the two of them looked away however, neither of them saw as Chi-Chi moved in her sleep. Neither of them saw Chi-Chi's hands reach up and grip her rounded, pregnant belly. Nor did they see her body buck as the little lifeforce within began to kick in reaction to the high power levels in the distance.
Outside of Kame House...
The spectators of Kame House were all sat on the beach with a mixture of serious and horrified looks on their faces. Suno was knelt in the sand, having stripped off her winter coast and her wool hat due to the heat. She watched as massive waves rose and crashed in the distance. "And you're telling me that you guys face things like this regularly?! It looks like the apocalypse is going on out there!"
Oolong, who had just woken up from his nap, shook his head with a sigh. "You get used to it..."
Puar smiled. "But, it's okay! Cuz Yamcha and his friends are all super strong! Right, Yamcha?"
Everyone turned to Yamcha and saw the bitter, defeated look on his face. He didn't respond. Puar frowned. "Y-Yamcha..."
Chiaotzu sighed. "It's...getting harder and harder to say that, Puar. These new threats are just getting more and more intense..."
Puar smiled. "But, you and Yamcha were both talking about how well Vegeta seemed to be handling this. So that's encouraging, right?"
Chiaotzu bowed his head. "It's nice to know that people are able to handle these problems. But...it just sucks for martial artists like us to have to sit around and watch this happen, ya know? I can't speak for Yamcha...but it's starting to feel like I'll never be able to fathom the levels of power we're sensing. Cell is terrifyingly strong, but Vegeta is somehow even stronger. And... it's hard to say which one is more of a punch to the gut..."
Suno frowned. She looked over at Yamcha, who looked so sullen. And then she glanced across the beach at Eighter, who seemed genuinely upset when he heard that a fellow Android had been eaten by the monster that had attacked them in Jingle Village. She sighed. "Hey, Eighter, come here."
Eighter turned to his friend, standing and lumbering over to her. "Yes, Suno...?"
Suno stood and motioned for him to follow her. He did and they both sat next to Yamcha. Yamcha glanced over at her. "Oh. Hey, Suno. I'm sorry. I'm not trying to ignore you, I just-"
The girl interrupted Yamcha with a firm pat on the shoulder. Yamcha looked over at her again and she smiled. "It's going to be okay. You might be forced to sit the fight out right now, due to your leg, but Goku said that it would eventually be fixed when he gathers up the Dragon Balls! So you don't have to be down on yourself! You'll be back in the fight soon~"
Yamcha sighed. "At this point, I'm not even sure having two legs would make any difference. No matter what, it just seems like I'll never be strong enough..."
And then, Eighter spoke up. "It's not about strength, it's about what kind of person you are..."
Yamcha flinched, turning and looking towards the towering Android. Eighter smiled and poked his finger into Yamcha's chest. "In here, in your heart. That's what matters. And going by that, you're just as strong as Goku is..."
Yamcha was taken aback. "H-Hey! Let's not get crazy here. As strong as Goku is a pretty hefty claim..."
Eighter chuckled. "I was stronger than Goku when we first met. And yet, he was the one who saved me. Not through strength, but through friendship. He showed me that it was possible to have the will to continue on, even when things seemed overwhelming and scary. And you're just like him..."
The hulking Android smiled. "You faced down that monster that ate one of my fellow Androids without a second thought. And you fought him with just as much bravery as Goku would have~"
Suno smiled wide, grabbing onto Yamcha's arm and hugging it tight. "You saved our lives when all seemed lost. You can't just say that you don't think you can fight anymore just because people are stronger. Your friends would be missing out on something important if you weren't there to stand alongside them~"
Yamcha looked down at Suno, a sad-happy smile on his face. Suno looked right into his eyes. "And you and all of your friends have been so kind to me while I've been here. You've brought my spirits up, in spite of what that monster did to my village. So... I'll always think of you as a super-strong hero...if that means anything..."
Suno looked away and blushed. Yamcha smiled and, to her surprise, grabbed her hand and held it tight. "Thanks, Suno. That means a lot..."
Across the beach, Turtle smiled at the heartwarming scene. "Master Roshi, you should turn around and look at this~"
Roshi shook his head. "No need, Turtle. I've seen such a thing before..."
Turtle cocked his head. "Really?"
Roshi chuckled. "Of course. And young love isn't something that's there for onlookers to gawk at..."
On the battlefield...
Cell pushed himself up, only to immediately be booted in the face by Vegeta. The monster went tumbling and the Saiyan Prince chuckled. "Idiot. You're starting to lose your appeal. You weakling..."
Cell shakily raised his hand, pointing his finger at Vegeta. "D-Death-"
Vegeta fired a blast that blew Cell's hand off. The monster yelped and fell backward. "Aghhhhh!"
The Prince shook his head. "Cut it out with that Frieza crap! It's starting to annoy me..."
Cell was panicking now. He quickly regrew his hand and started trying to think of attacks he could use on the Prince. He looked past him and saw Raditz and Future Trunks standing there, and so he tried using those moves. "DOUBLE SUNDAY! SATURDAY CRUSH! SHINING FRIDAY! GOD BREAKER! FINISH BUSTER!"
Vegeta marched towards Cell, slapping away or dispelling each attack with little effort. Cell yelped in fear and then did a familiar series of swiping hand motions in front. He splayed his hands towards Vegeta. "BURNING ATTACK!"
This attack barely made it five inches away from Cell. Quickly, Vegeta cleared the distance between the two of them and kicked the attack skyward. And then he laid into Cell with a series of rapid-fire punches and a single kick that slammed Cell into the side of the mountain behind him. Cell was gasping for air, breathing heavily and trying to rack his brain for what to do. He glanced to Raditz again, and then he pressed his fingers to his forehead.
Vegeta stopped and glared down on Cell. Cell responded by firing another blast. "Special Beam Cannon!"
The drilling beam shot towards Vegeta, but he simply leapt over it. Cell stared in horror as Vegeta landed, a vein popping out of his head. "And now you're using that Namekian's techniques?! Are you trying to piss me off?!"
Cell struggled to get back onto his feet. His body felt like it weighed two tons. As Vegeta started walking forward again, Cell raised his hands. "This will kill you..."
Vegeta stopped walking. "Hmm?"
Cell smiled wide and started charging a pinkish-purple beam between his hands. "HAHAHAHA! DOES THIS TECHNIQUE LOOK FAMILIAR, YOU COCKY LITTLE BASTARD?!"
A smile spread across Vegeta's face. He let loose a chuckle and then, to Cell's surprise, he turned his back to the creature. Cell sneered. "What are you-"
Vegeta flipped him off. "Go ahead then. Let's get this last, desperate gasp out of your system. Shall we?"
Cell was apoplectic. His energy surged and he snarled. "I'LL WIPE YOU OFF OF THE FACE OF THIS PLANET! SUPER! GALICK! GUN!"
Vegeta let loose one more chuckled. And then, Cell thrust the blast right at the Prince. "FIRE!"
In the forest...
As Cell's latest light show went off on the other side of the mountain, the entire island began to shake. Android 17 and Krillin both fell onto their butts. Sparks shot out of 16's head, reacting to the charged energy in the air. Android 17 cried out. "Cell is nuts! That much power could wipe out this entire island! Why isn't Vegeta doing anything to stop this?!"
Shakily, Krillin stood. "There's no telling what might be going on in Vegeta's head! But we shouldn't stick around to find out what's going to happen! This is our chance to get away from here while Cell is distracted!"
17 snapped at him. "You want me to just run off when the monster that ate my sister is right in front of me?!"
Krillin had finally had enough. He got right into 17's face and shouted. "YES! I WANT YOU TO THINK FOR JUST A MINUTE AND REALIZE THAT YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE!"
17 grabbed Krillin by the shirt. "Give me one reason why I should!"
Krillin threw his hand to the side, motioning to Android 16. "Because, if you don't, he'll get caught in the crossfire! Is that what you want, 17?! Don't you want to make sure that nothing bad happens to him?!"
17 glanced over at 16. Seeing his larger, heavily damaged friend lying on the ground with sparks erupting from his damaged head and missing arm made all of the anger and rage drain from 17's face. He gripped his fist tight and let go of Krillin. Krillin looked up at him. "17?"
The Android looked like he was going to be sick. "Sh-Shut up and help me carry him!"
On the sidelines...
Raditz watched on, giving a sarcastic yawn, as Cell's Galick Gun rocketed towards Vegeta. "Oh yeah, Cell, that'll kill him..."
Future Trunks looked annoyed. "That arrogance of that monster, using my father's own move against him like that..."
Future Daikon sighed. "Well, it looks like Vegeta just plans to tank it. So, we should probably move. Right? Don't wanna get caught up in any blowback for no good reason..."
Raditz and Future Trunks both nodded in agreement, and then the three warriors rose into the air.
On the Lookout...
Gine flinched. "He's using Vegeta's Galick Gun?!"
Tien sneered. "And Vegeta's just standing there! What's he doing?!"
Piccolo snapped. "That arrogant bastard is going to get himself killed!"
Mr. Popo stared on in horror. Kami spoke up. "Not to mention the damage such an attack might do to the Earth! Why aren't the other three stepping in?!"
As everyone watched on in horror, Bulma let loose an airy sigh. And then she chuckled. "You're all getting so worked up over nothing..."
Everyone turned to the scientist, watching as she gently rubbed her hand up and down the slumbering Baby Trunks' back. "Out of all of the things that Cell could pull on Vegeta that might kill him, you really think it's going to be Vegeta's signature attack that does it?"
Bulma smirked. "My husband can be childish and arrogant, but I don't think any of you are giving him enough credit. When I looked in that man's eyes when he stepped out of that room...I knew that the world was going to be safe~"
On the battlefield...
Cell watched on in shock as his Super Galick Gun collided with Vegeta's hands...and then began to swirl into a tight, little ball. Once the attack finished leaving Cell's grasp, he took a nervous step back and stared in shock and awe as Vegeta compressed the blast. And then, Cell gasped when Vegeta smirked at him and spoke. "Rebound Galick Gun~"
Vegeta shouted. "FIRE!"
The attack shot towards Cell and the monster had no way to avoid it. It smashed into him and then smashed him into the mountain, overtaking both and blowing the rocky structure into pieces.
As the smoke from the attack settled, Vegeta stood tall. He marched forward and found Cell, burnt and battered and halfway buried under rubble. The monster laid motionless. As Vegeta loomed over his foe, the other three landed just across from him atop the flattened pile of rubble. Vegeta glanced over at them. "You three are still here? I assumed you would have realized the futility of your presence and headed home by now..."
Raditz rolled his eyes. "And miss this? Please. This has been a spectacle worth watching, I think."
Future Trunks glared at the prone Cell. "I just want to make sure that that monster is dead."
Future Daikon scratched the back of his head. "I was kind of hoping for a fight. But...this is just sad..."
And then Cell popped up out of nowhere. He charged toward Raditz, Future Trunks, and Future Daikon and screamed at the top of his lungs. "I JUST NEED TO FEED! IF I ABSORB YOU THREE ONLOOKERS, I'LL KILL VEGETA IN AN INSTANT!!"
Cell angled the stinger on the end of his abdomen to stab right into Future Trunks' chest. It looked as if the hit was going to connect. But, as the stinger stabbed through, Future Trunks' simply faded away. Cell gasped. "An Afterimage?!"
But then, before the monster could recollect himself, Raditz thrashed him with a hard kick to the stomach. Future Daikon rushed in and delivered a harsh punch to the mouth. And, finally, Future Trunks reappeared behind Cell, grabbing him by one of his six legs, and violently threw him back towards Vegeta.
As Cell flew towards him, Vegeta smirked. "Welcome back to your painful end~"
And then he punched Cell directly in the face, stopping the monster mid-flight and slamming him into the ground. Vegeta laughed as Cell laid there. "Naive insect! Did you honestly think I was the only one who improved since the battle with that woman Android?! And, more importantly, did you honestly believe that I would allow a single liability to join me on this little excursion?!"
Vegeta's smile faded into a hateful scowl. "Make no mistake, monster. There is not a single person near you that couldn't snuff you out."
Cell laid there, dazed. Vegeta knelt down and scornfully slapped the monster across the face. "Wake up! I have a question I've been wanting to ask you!"
Cell sneered at Vegeta. The Prince put on a mocking smile. "Was your old world really so bad?"
Cell barked at him. "What?!"
Vegeta chuckled. "Your world. The one where those Android brats died. Was it really so bad? In retrospect? Wouldn't you have been happier just staying there, in a world where nobody would show up and slaughter you mid-rampage? Basically, what I'm asking is...do you regret coming here yet, Cell?"
Faced with an enemy he couldn't overcome with strength, Cell resorted to his last strategy. "YOU ASK ABOUT MY WORLD?!"
He was breathing heavy. "Let me tell you about my world, Vegeta! My world is a future where you're hated by all of your so-called allies! Seen as nothing more than a liability or a weight strapped to their ankle, pulling them down so far they couldn't breathe! My future is one where you died a miserable death! One where Goku never acknowledged you as anything more than a fun spar! One where-"
Vegeta kicked Cell in the mouth, sending him tumbling. He marched forward. "I suppose you do have one power that you didn't steal from somebody else. Talking. You talk and talk and talk and rant and rant and rant about absolutely nothing!"
Cell trembled before Vegeta, watching as the Prince's Ascended Super Saiyan power flared. Vegeta continued. "Am I meant to care about the failings of another Vegeta?! The only Vegeta that matters to me is myself! If the others failed, then they deserved to die whatever shameful deaths they died!"
The monster started trying to crawl away, but Vegeta stomped on one of his legs to hold him still. "I am a Vegeta on top of his life! I have so many powerful rivals to keep pushing me to be the best out of any of them! Kakarot! Raditz! Bardock! Even that blasted Namekian! And I respect them because of their strength and their ability to constantly improve and push themselves when compared to me! I hold that mindset with everybody! As long as you are able to put in the effort to increase your own strength, then I am willing to give you my regard!"
But then, Vegeta's bombastic tone fell into a chilling growl. "But, one thing I have no respect for is a craven beast that steals the strength of others and tries to pass it on as his own..."
Cell snarled in rage and fear. He yanked his foot out from under Vegeta's and leapt to his feet. "I don't need your respect! I need you dead! Kaioken Times 20!"
With a boost in speed, Cell whipped around Vegeta and punched the Prince in the back of the head. He grabbed Vegeta by the arm and spun him around, and then laid into him with a desperate flurry of punches and kicks. Finally, after beating Vegeta into a seeming pulp, Cell threw the Prince to the ground and fired off another attack. "Gravity Bolts!"
The black lightning crashed into Vegeta's prone body and arced across the ground. Cell continued pumping the dark, shocking force into Vegeta until he just couldn't output anymore. Breathing heavily, the monster gasped and slumped over. His Kaioken faded and he stumbled back. "G-Go to Hell...Vegeta..."
"And was that supposed to send me to Hell?"
Vegeta leapt up, dusting off his armor and wiping blood from his busted lip. "Was that your last gasp, Cell? I've been waiting for it, you know..."
Cell couldn't form words. Vegeta spat on the ground, and then he charged forward and slammed his knee into Cell's chest. The monster's six legs gave out from under him and he crashed to the ground in a heap. Vegeta reached down and grabbed Cell by one of the ridges on his head, yanking him up. "You know, I will give you this much...you made me have to actively think about how to stop you..."
Cell flinched. Vegeta smirked. "Making sure that I never caused enough damage to give you a Zenkai boost was the hard part. But it was necessary. With how much energy you have in you, I needed to make sure that you would die once I dealt you a mortal blow. If, by any chance, you survived...then you might have morphed into a problem..."
Vegeta punched Cell across the face, sending him sliding across the ground. Cell coughed up blood, barely able to push himself up. "My...my power was supposed to make me untouchable. H-How...how is this happening?!"
The Prince started walking towards the monster. "You really are an idiot. An oblivious, idiot."
Cell looked up at Vegeta and, just for a second, he saw the shadow of death walking right next to the Prince. Desperate, Cell began to plead. "W-Wait Vegeta! You...you keep going on about how you crave to fight strong people! The Vegeta in my timeline wanted to fight strong people too! Surely you want a challenge for that power, right?!"
Vegeta snorted. "Perhaps..."
Cell smiled wide. "Then, how about you let me go look for Android 17. Once I absorb him, I'll achieve my perfect form! And then I'll give you the challenge of your life!"
Vegeta smiled, bowing his head. "Sounds enticing..."
Cell smiled wide. He had him! Just like any Vegeta, this Vegeta craved a real challenge to test his might against. All Cell had to do was put out the idea of a potential challenge, and then he would be home free! The monster stood. "Well then, Vegeta, if you don't mind-"
Vegeta rushed forward and plunge his fist so far into Cell's gut that blood spurted out around it. Cell gagged as blood erupted and waterfalled out of his mouth. Vegeta sent ripped his arm out of Cell's stomach and glared down at the pitiful beast. "I'll have plenty of challenges once Kakarot and Bardock emerge from the Time Chamber! I have no need of a miserable, power-leeching cockroach!"
He scowled with utter fury. "Especially one that would threaten my bloodline as you have..."
Cell swallowed hard, using his energy to fix the hole in his stomach. "V-Vegeta! W-W-Wait! I-"
Vegeta launched forward and punched Cell in the gut again, making the monster spit up even more. Cell stumbled back, wheezing. His legs became jelly under him and he fell to the ground. "Wh-What's happening...? Why am I...so weak...? Piccolo's healing factor...and the Zenkai boost...I..."
Vegeta smirked, still looking furious. "Do you really want to know?"
Fearful of Vegeta's approach, Cell weakly tossed an energy blast towards him. Vegeta took it on the chest and didn't lose a step in his stride. Cell yelped in fear, and then Vegeta slammed his fist into the monster's gut again. A mixture of blood and bile bubbled out of Cell's mouth. His eyes bugged out of his head. Cell gasped. "Wh-What did you do to me?! Wh-What have you done...?!"
"I told you, didn't I...that any creature that solely relies on the strength of others is better off dead...?"
Another punch to Cell's gut.
"You're such a creature..."
Another punch.
"I can't stand your kind! Pathetic worms that dare to think they can wriggle around in the dirt and talk down to true warriors!"
Another punch.
"And more importantly than anything else..."
Vegeta pulled his fist back as far as he could. He stared at Cell with a savage mixture of anger, rage, hate, and vitriol. "YOU DARED TO THREATEN MY WIFE AND CHILD!"
Another punch, this one sent Cell flying back. He landed on his back, a flood of bile erupting from his throat. As he laid there, he looked into the air and saw a shimmering ball of energy high above. "Wh-What the hell is that?!"
But rather than give an answer, Vegeta dropped from the sky like an anvil, smashing his foot down into Cell's gut. "Enough out of you, monster! Begone!"
A massive lump appeared in Cell's chest. This lump quickly moved from his chest to his throat. Cell tried to hold it in, but the force of Vegeta's attack simply wouldn't allow it. Instead, Cell's mouth gaped wide open and a massive, mucus-covered blob shot out. Vegeta caught the blob, and then cast it aside without a second thought. Cell stared in horror. "No... n-no..."
Future Trunks and Future Daikon both recoiled in shock. Raditz crossed his arms. "I see. I thought that might happen..."
Laying on the ground, mere feet from the three sidelined warriors, was the unconscious and heavily injured form of Android 18. As Future Trunks stood in shock, unable to think of what to say, Future Daikon turned to his father. "You thought this might happen?! What do you mean by that?! How could you have thought that this was going to happen, Dad?! What's even happening here?!"
Raditz closed his eyes. "I suppose I could explain..."
Back in the Time Chamber...
Raditz was confused. "So... now you want to learn Spirit Control, Vegeta?! Why?!"
Vegeta scowled. "Keep your damned voice down."
Raditz shrugged. "I'm just confused. Why the sudden change of heart? I thought the almighty Saiyan Prince was too good to learn the measly techniques of an inferior race..."
The elder brother cocked his head. "Or do you have some ulterior motive here?"
Vegeta shook his head. "No. I don't have any goddamned ulterior motive. I've just heard you and the boys talking about this Cell creature and how he operates. And, if we're going to be facing down this creature when we get out of this chamber...I want to be prepared in case he's somehow managed to absorb those brats."
Raditz cocked his head. "And how is my Instant Warp supposed to help with that?"
Vegeta snapped. "I don't want to learn your ridiculous party trick! I just want you to teach me the basics of Spirit Control so that I can try and figure out a move that that blasted Pyabara showed off!"
Raditz flinched. "You watched Master Pyabara's demonstration?!"
Vegeta scowled. "What else was I supposed to do while you and Kakarot toddled around? Chat with Bardock?!"
Raditz looked unsure. "Wh-Which technique did you want to learn...?"
Vegeta motioned Raditz to come closer, Raditz did and Vegeta whispered in his ear. Raditz's eyes widened. "WHAT?!"
Vegeta sneered. "Keep quiet!"
Raditz shook his head. "S-Sorry. I just wasn't expecting you to say that. Like...you are aware that that's an advanced-level technique. Right?"
Vegeta nodded. "I am."
Raditz's shoulders slumped. "And you plan to master Spirit Control, and that technique..in less than five months?"
Vegeta shrugged. "Perhaps not master...but I could learn enough to deal with this Cell creature, if need be..."
Raditz sighed. "Fine, I'll teach you. But you're probably going to end up using me as a sparring partner while learning this. So please take it easy..."
Back on the battlefield...
Raditz's scarred eyebrow twitched. He glanced up into the sky at the massive ball of energy floating above the island. "Forced Spirit Fission. A Spirit Control ability, like Kakarot's Instant Transmission and my Instant Warp. It allows the user to forcibly separate energy from their opponent..."
Future Trunks looked concerned. "So, for this entire fight..."
Raditz nodded. "Cell has never had a chance of winning."
Future Daikon looked up. "And, what is that ball of energy?"
Raditz looked up. "That would be all of the energy that Cell gathered by ingesting his victims. Vegeta, due to his rudimentary training with the technique, has been literally beating it out of Cell for this entire fight. Like a more violent version of the Spirit Bomb..."
Vegeta turned and shouted at Raditz. "Shut the hell up! This is nothing like Kakarot's technique!"
As Vegeta turned his attention to Raditz, Cell began to crawl across the ground. "18...no...m-my 18..."
Vegeta's foot stomped down right in front of Cell, blocking his path. He looked up at Vegeta and Vegeta glared down at him. "Your power is slipping away like air out of a balloon. How long before you shrivel and die?"
Cell hissed, clearly in pain. "You can't do this to me...you...you can't...a nobody like you...can't..."
Vegeta pointed up. "You see that up there? The energy ball that Raditz referred to as a Spirit Bomb?"
Cell glared at the ball. Vegeta smirked. "That's the lifeforce extracted from the bio-essence of every nameless human that you ate to build yourself into something slightly less pathetic. I've beaten their lifeforce that you devoured out of them. But, that lifeforce has nowhere to return to..."
Vegeta splayed out his hand. "...so, I'll do them a favor and allow them to drag their killer to Hell!"
And then, Vegeta dropped the ball of vital energy down onto Cell. The resulting explosion was so colossal that it forced Vegeta, Raditz, Future Trunks, and Future Daikon all to fall back. Engulfed and overwhelmed by the blast, Cell was sent flying across the island.
As the smoke cleared, Vegeta chuckled. "So, I think I did it. I squashed the bug~"
Raditz flew up next to him. "Focus, Vegeta. We both know that wasn't enough to actually kill Cell."
Vegeta shrugged. "Yeah yeah, I know. But he's dead no matter what..."
Future Trunks and Future Daikon both flew up, Future Daikon with Android 18 slung over his shoulder. Future Daikon glared back at the Android. "She's probably going to die, soon. Her breathing is faint and her heartbeat is erratic."
Future Trunks shook his head. "That doesn't matter. We just need to keep track of her until Cell is gone, then we can do what Krillin wouldn't do for whatever reason..."
Vegeta motioned. "Discussions for another time. Raditz is right. We need to fan out, find that monster, and kill him for good."
Raditz, Future Trunks, and Future Daikon all nodded in agreement. "Right."
Across the island...
Cell laid in a heap on near the ocean. Shakily, he pushed himself up. But, just like Vegeta said, Cell could feel his strength fading. "Damn it...my 18...my life energy..."
The monster snarled. "When I attain my perfect from, Vegeta, your death with be slow and miserable..."
Cell groaned in anguish and fury, he was exhausted. His body began to warp and shrink. He knew that, without 18, it wouldn't be long before he reverted back. Cell snarled and began to rapidly burn through his remaining bio-essence to keep his Semi-Perfect form going. "I need to do something quickly...maybe if I absorbed more humans..."
But, as the thought crossed his mind, Cell remembered that he had exterminated every human in the area. "No..."
And, to add further onto Cell's plate, he heard the four Saiyans yelling back and forth in the distance. One of them was getting close, but he couldn't tell which one it was. Cell snarled. "Shit...what do I do now...?"
The monster turned to the water, contemplating swimming away. And then his jaw dropped. Cell stared into the distance, in disbelief at his luck. The orange gi, the lime green armor, the black hair and black shirt. In the distance, flying towards one of the cities Cell had emptied, were three people: Krillin, Android 16...and Android 17.
