Chapter 592 Trin's Apartment
Saturday, March 4th, Afternoon
Of all the places, except for maybe Hermosa Beach, this interview will have the most compelling backdrop. The buildings of Manhattan as a background. Even more significant was this interview was with one of the most influential people in the whole story. They sat on the sofa, posed, and relaxed as the interviewer set up the equipment.
Trin looked at the statuesque blonde Dutch woman as she finished the setup. Finally, Felicia sat down and looked at Trin.
"How are you liking New York?" Trin asked.
"I am enjoying it," Felicia said.
"Are you surprised by the amount of Dutch names we maintain?" Trin asked.
"Well, it was once New Amsterdam, but we digress," Felicia said.
"I hope I will be able to add to your film," Trin said.
"I am counting on it," Felicia said.
"Alright, you understand that Brian and I parted on bad terms," Trin said.
"Yes," Felicia said and sat down, "That's a pretty common story where Brian Scott is concerned."
"You're telling me," Trin said.
Felicia nodded, "Are you ready?" she asked.
Trin nodded, "Yes," she said.
"Trin, remember this is a conversation, we have no time limit, and pauses and breaks are allowed. When I ask you to start, I need you to count down from three to one and then up from one to three," Felicia said.
"Okay, that's pretty clear," Trin said.
"Where is your son?" Felicia asked.
"He's over at a friend's house; he doesn't need to hear this," Trin said.
"He will eventually find out," Felicia said.
"Yes, but let him be a child a little bit longer," Trin said.
"Fair, are you ready?" Felicia asked.
"Yes, I am," Trin said.
"Alight, give me a countdown, please," Felicia said and started recording.
"Three…two…one," Trin said, "One…two…three."
"Alright, please state your name and relationship with Brian Scott and Gabi Vincent," Felicia said.
"I am Trinity Adams, more commonly known as Trin. Gabi and I have been rivals since I was a freshman in high school. Brian and I were many things, from friends to lovers to enemies," Trin said.
"Strong words," Felicia said.
"Strong feelings," Trin said.
"When did you first meet Brian and Gabi?" Felicia asked.
"I've known Gabi longer, her mom and mine were friends from high school, and we would often get together. Gabi was between me and my older sister Izzy's age, but Izzy spent time with our older sister Chase, so it was Gabi and me all the time. My impression was Gabi was, well, not much of a person, very thin in personality," Trin said.
"How about Brian?" Felicia asked.
"According to my mom, we were young, but I remember meeting him in high school. Our moms were friends we were the same age, so we got forced together. Gabi was in the same group," Trin said.
"What was this boy draft?" Felicia asked.
"Some custom where the cheerleaders picked which boy was theirs for the year," Trin said.
"You picked Brian," Felicia said.
"Yes, I was asked to, and it was a whole thing," Trin said.
"A whole thing?" Felicia asked.
"It's involved, and I don't want to get into it," Trin said.
"Okay, when did you and Brien become more than friends?" Felicia asked.
"The end of my senior year of high school. We were intimate at first, and I felt we could be a thing after we graduated. We built on this until he went on his first European Tour. Over that fall and winter, whenever Brian was in New York City, we would get together," Trin said.
"Was Gabi in the picture at the time?" Felicia asked.
"Yes," Trin said.
"Would you care to expand on that?" Felicia asked.
"No," Trin said.
"Were you there when Mental Lapse was pulled off the road?" Felicia asked.
"Yes, I was on summer break," Trin said.
"What happened?" Felicia asked.
"Brian being Brian at this time, rebelled, talked me into running away with him to Gulf Shore, Alabama. I was out jogging and had nothing with me. I bought clothing from local shops, and we shared a beach house and a bed. That week he put a baby into me," Trin said.
"What happened when you found out you were pregnant?" Felicia asked.
"I went into denial; eventually, I ran away to New York to think. I confronted Brian about being pregnant, and Gabi said she was pregnant too. Brian wanted me to come live with him and Gabi and raise our children together," Trin said.
"In a harem?" Felicia asked.
Trin nodded, "Yes," she said.
"How did you answer that?" Felicia asked.
"Hell no," Trin said.
"What do you remember happening?" Felicia asked.
"Brian was dropped from the label, Kat Hartmann left the band, and he just disappeared with Gabi," Trin said.
"How was Brian as a father?" Felicia asked.
"For his oldest, kind of absent, but Brian toured and lived in California. When Brian was in New York, he would spend time with his child. There was a distance between them. They looked a lot alike but were so different. The distance and lack of time were also telling. To his credit, Brian tried," Trin said, without breaking down.
"How was Brian as a person?" Felicia asked.
"It depends on and where not just age but his place in time and company. When he was in high school, he was a sweet, sometimes clueless boy. As fame started to bite into him, he changed. That day in Hell, he was not the same person anymore. In some ways, he went over the edge. When he was here with our child, he was different and tried to be an attentive dad," Trin said.
"Thank you, Trin," Felicia said.
"You're welcome," Trin said and watched the record light turn off.
