Disclaimer: sigh, I type this at the top of everything I write; it's really getting quite depressing now…No, guess what, I do not own the books by J K Rowling… funny, that, isn't it? I mean, seeing as it has her name on the front cover…
Even Hats Have Bad Days
The founders got together,
To play a game of pool.
Instead they thought they'd have some fun,
And start a magical school.
-
Old Slytherin, he'd lost the game,
So was in a right foul mood.
He took the task of the dungeons,
That guy was one mean dude.
-
Nails, hooks, shackles and chains,
Into the wall they went;
Ready to tackle anyone
Who thought that the rules could be bent.
-
Hufflepuff, she came in third,
And accepted it with good grace.
She fashioned the corridors with tapestries,
To suit anyone with good taste.
-
Portraits galore went upon those walls,
Which were previously bare and grey.
Forevermore the school would look to
Their surroundings to brighten their day.
-
Ravenclaw, in second place,
Created the whole west wing.
No messing about or fooling around,
This was the real thing.
-
Her dream of years had just come true,
And she had put those nights to good use.
Classrooms in abundance she dotted around,
No missing student would have an excuse.
-
Gryffindor was the man of the day,
But only as he started first.
You know, however, what the old rhymes say?
It begins with "first the worst".
-
No, really he did the ceiling –
That one you're all staring at now.
I think you've all at some point
Looked up and thought "wow".
-
So there we are, my song is done,
All I have now to do is sort you,
So take your eyes of that entrancing view
And turn your thoughts to me
Cruel, pretty, strict or lucky –
In which house would you like to be?
---
We all have bad days…
Love,
