A/N: Whew! Sorry this took way too long. Moving takes a whole hell of a lot out of a fella. That's for sure. This is the penultimate chapter of our little Bardock interlude. So, next chapter ends the Brothers in Space Arc and we go back to Earth!
Which leads to an important question for all of you who are still reading: Do I follow the adventures of Gohan or Goku first when we return home? Let me know in reviews or DMs!
Also, please make sure you read the final chapter of the Vegeta side-story. That will be going up soon! And please read my collab Dragon Ball story "The Space Train" that I am doing with one of my best friends. Thanks for bearing with me during this little stumble in the posting schedule. I hope to keep entertaining all of you going forward!
Chapter 135: Hatchiyack
Deep within Dr. Wheelo's sanctum...
Bardock, Turles, Zangya, and Slug all stood dumbfounded in the face of this new behemoth. The pink-and-green monster stepped forward, stomping its foot onto the pool of blood where Dr. Raichi had once lain and roared with utter fury. As Hatchiyack's power pulsed, all four warriors were sent skidding back. Turles scowled. "I can't sense power levels, at least not very well, but this doesn't seem like a good thing..."
He turned to the others. "Am I right?!"
Slug's pupils were the size of pinpricks. Bardock had broken into a cold sweat. Zangya cried out. "TURLES! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS THING?!"
Turles scratched his head. "Honestly...hard to say without any hard data. But, based on Raichi's final words, I can scientifically confirm that it wants us dead. Me and Bardock at least..."
Bardock shook his head. "And here I thought Gero was taking a grudge too far..."
Zangya, snapping out of her fearful stupor, summoned the moisture from the air and formed a pair of icy knuckle dusters on her fists. "So, are we screwed then?!:
Slug groaned, taking a deep breath and calming. Then his signature sneer returned to his wrinkled, green face. "We're not dead yet! Let's keep it that way!"
Bardock clenched his fists. "RIGHT!"
And then the golden flames of Super Saiyan came roaring forth once more. Bardock gritted his teeth and forced his energy to focus in spite of his trepidation. "Not quite as good as Kakarot's control, but probably the best I can hope for given the circumstances..."
Slug roared aloud as well, a dreadful feeling power rushing out from his ancient frame. Bardock looked toward him. Slug snarled. "I might not...want to call that anymore...but I am still a Grand Elder of one of the most revered races in creation! I won't go down without a fight!"
Zangya glanced from Bardock, to Slug, to Turles, and then down at her feet. She clenched her fists tighter and spikes grew from the frozen bands around her fists. "I'm not ready to die yet."
Turles smiled. The skill wasn't quite natural to him yet, but he could feel the warmth coming from the three people behind him. His brother, his father, and someone he truly loved. The scientist cracked his neck. "...when I got things together all those years ago on Pandora...when I formed my crew and joined up with Slug...I told myself that I would see this Universe for all it was worth. For Tursa. And eventually for Bardock when I learned he had died. I... I swore that I would keep going until I could no longer advance..."
Turles clenched his fist to his side, summoning a ball of ki into his only remaining hand. "I'M NOT GOING TO LET SOME MONSTER STOP ME NOW!"
The four warriors glared at Hatchiyack, their powers flaring. Hatchiyack glared down upon them with stone cold hatred. With the growth containing the Revenger Crystal looping around his head, the vengeful golem looked like the shadow of death itself.
And then Hatchiyack vanished from sight.
It took only a few agonizing seconds before all warriors realized what had happened. In front of Slug, to Zangya's left, to Bardock's right, and right behind Turles. Hatchiyack had moved so quickly that he had practically teleported between the four of them. And then, before a word could be fearfully shouted out, Hatchiyack buried his fist into the side of Slug's head and sent him blasting through a distant wall.
Turles turned around and screamed. "SLUG!"
What met the fretful scientist was the sight of Zangya getting kicked in the gut and Bardock taking an elbow to the nape of his neck. Both were dropped with frighteningly little resistance and Hatchiyack whipped around and glared at the mostly defenseless Turles.
Turles shuddered as Hatchiyack stomped towards him. He looked beyond the monster at Bardock, then Slug, then Zangya. All three of them looked pretty banged up. Turles sneered. "God damn it...I never wanted thing to come to this..."
The scientist clenched his fist and waved it at the monster. "Well?! Come on, then! Come at me!"
Bardock stood up, spitting a glob of blood. "You ain't won yet, you son of a bitch!"
Zangya shakily got to her feet, wiping a trickle of blood out of her eye. Slug snarled as he got to his feet. "If only I were about a century younger, I'd have ended this by now..."
The four warriors stood stalwart. Hatchiyack snarled with rage, a mad dog in a man's form. Turles called out to the others. "Guys! We can do this! We just have to-"
Hatchiyack bellowed with furious rage, his scream summoning forth a massive dome of energy. Turles' pupils shrank to the size of pinpricks as the energy dome came shredding towards him. "Oh shit!"
In the ruins of Planet M1...
A massive explosion rang out and burst Dr. Wheelo's sanctum like a massive, metal balloon. Chunks of flaming debris rained from the sky, crashing and sinking straight into the ground. The apocalyptic scene that M1 had become truly became Hell at that point as what little remained standing was suddenly engulfed in flames.
What was left of the Demon Crushers cried out in fear and panic. Daiz hefted the crippled Bonyu onto his shoulder and quickly got them both into cover. "Oh, goddamn it! What the hell else could go wrong today?!"
With all of his strength, Angila kicked Wings behind a sturdy pile of concrete and then leapt in to join him. Lakasei and Raisen were both reluctant to leave behind what remained of Amond, but the both came to the conclusion that their lives were more important, deftly dodging the hellish hail until they were in safety as well.
Daiz called out to Angila. "HEY! Turles and Slug were in there! Do you think they, Bardock, and that Zangya chick are-"
In rapid succession, four powerful masses crashed into the ground one after the other. The dust settled and Turles, Bardock, Zangya, and Slug were all laid out in a heap. Slug's eyes had rolled back. Zangya was shaking like a leaf as she tried to reorient herself. Bardock was shaking the dust off of himself, quickly trying to get back to his feet. And Turles was wheezing for air...struggling as he gripped his single, remaining hand around a thin piece of rebar that had drilled its way through his exposed side.
Turles tried to sit up, but blood erupted from between his teeth and he quickly fell back into his spot. "Gah!"
Daiz cried out in horror. "TURLES!"
Gently setting Bonyu down, Daiz ran into the crater that Turles' landing had made. Bonyu groaned. "Turles..."
By the time Daiz had made it to Turles, Lakasei, Raisen, and Bardock were already crowded around him. Bardock's normally fury creased face was now hardened by a look of utter horror. He spoke in a frantically worried tone. "SHIT! TURLES!"
Daiz shoved his way to the front of the crowd. "Oh jeez...what do we do?! Should we lift him off of this thing?"
Bardock shook his head. "T-Too long. If we pulled him off of like that, it would rip his innards out! Need to..."
Bardock gripped the bloody rebar tight and began to pull it up. In spite of his strength, the Saiyan warrior found the metal stuck tight. "Shit...my strength is waning..."
Bardock called out. "AMOND! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!"
He called again. "AMOND!"
Still no response. Bardock was losing his patience. "A-"
Daiz grabbed Bardock's wrist. The Saiyan warrior glared at him. Daiz shook his head. "I'll...I'll help you, okay? Just...quit calling for Amond..."
Immediately understanding the grim reality, Bardock fell silent. He quickly turned his attention to the task at hand as he, Daiz, Lakasei, and Raisen worked to pry the rebar impaling Turles loose.
Meanwhile, on the edge of a different crater, Zangya had managed to drag herself back to ground level. She looked in silent fury as Turles was being tended too, and then looked into a different crater to see Angila and Wings grouped around Lord Slug. The aged Namekian had a distant stare on his face as he listened to his minions talk, as if he were in genuine disbelief.
Zangya groaned and slowly began to push herself up. As she did, she watched a single drop of water splatter against the cuff on her left wrist. Rain, perhaps?
The Heran woman's lower lip quivered as she got to her feet, all on her lonesome. "Nobody cares about me..."
She heard the rumbling in the distance, were Dr. Wheelo's sanctum once stood, and gripped her fingers against the ground so hard that they shattered through. "I can't believe this is how I'm going to die..."
A few minutes later...
The sad, remaining dregs of the Demon Crushers gathered around their senior officers as they huddled and began to speak. What was once a fierce army in the triple digits was now less that fifty men in tattered uniforms. Bardock, Zangya, Daiz, Lakasei, Raisen, Angila, Wings, and the Minimatcha on Wings' shoulder formed a circle around Turles and Lord Slug. The unconscious Bonyu was cradled in Turles' lap, her sleeve soaking in the blood leaking from the fresh wound in his torso.
Slug was sullen and distant. Turles had a look of utter agony frozen onto his face. "All of them...? First Cacao and Zeeun...now Amond and Medamatcha? All...all dead?"
Silent nods from the surrounding crew. The entire planet shook. More of the rubble that was once Dr. Wheelo's sanctum began to shift. Bardock groaned. "Hatchiyack, or whatever the hell that thing's name is, isn't dead. Not by a long shot..."
Bardock shook his head. "You'd figure being crushed would at least lessen his power. But...he only seems to be getting stronger..."
Turles spoke in a distant monotone. "The Revenger Crystal in his head is powering him. The more hate he's exposed to, the more he hates, the more power he gets added into his stockpile. And... I don't know how to counteract that. So... the Revenger Crystal is basically staring us in the face, but forever out of reach..."
Zangya sneered. "And I get to waste what's left of my life fighting and dying against this thing. This is bullshit..."
Wings turned to Zangya, furious. "Listen here you! We don't-"
"I agree."
The nodes on Zangya's shackles lit up, and then with two loud snaps, the cuffs came undone and fell harmlessly to the ground. Everyone turned to Turles, watching as the despondent scientist dropped the controller to Zangya's binds to the ground and crushed it under foot. Slug flinched, ever so slightly, but quickly relaxed.
Turles lifted his head, traces of tears glimmering in his eyes. He sniffled and wiped his face with his hand. Then, he gently set Bonyu to the side and stood up. "EVERYONE! LISTEN UP!"
Everyone's eyes locked onto Turles. The scientist's shoulders sagged. His ashy gray skin was now pale as milk, an unfortunate knock-on from heavy blood loss. He spoke in a firm, but thoroughly weary voice. "I am sorry that I forced us all onto this hopeless endeavor. Way too much life has been lost for what amounts to little more than a vanity project. You all deserve better than this and... I'm sorry."
He swallowed a lump in his throat. "So, to you, my leftover troops. And to you, Zangya, Bardock, Slug, Daiz, Lakasei, Raisen, Angila, Wings, Little Minimatcha, and especially to our unconscious Bonyu, I give my final and most absolute order as captain of this outfit: Run."
And with that, Turles turned from them. He reached to the ground with noticeable pain and picked up the piece of rebar that had once pierced through him. He ran as much of his ki as he could through it and then began to march towards the shuddering rubble of Dr. Wheelo's sanctum. "Run as far as you can. Board the ship and leave. I will stay...and I will fight for that crystal...for Cacao...for Zeeun...for Amond...for Medamatcha...I will fight to the last for that damned thing!"
Turles smashed the end of the rebar against the ground. "I-"
"Don't be dramatic, you idiot. You really expect me to just leave?"
Turles turned and Bardock stomped right next to him. The older brother growled under his breath and cracked his neck. "To hell with that idiot talk. Shove it up your ass..."
Turles was stunned. "B-But Bardock...what about Gine?"
Bardock smirked. "If I went back to Earth and told my wife and my sons that I found my long-lost brother and then just abandoned him to die...I don't think I could ever look them in the eye again. Also, I never saw her in Hell, but I'm pretty sure Cassava would be waiting for me when I died if I did that. So, sorry little brother, you're stuck with me until this is finished~"
Turles stammered. "B-But...but...you could die..."
Angila cut in. "Many already have. Are you saying their deaths were in vain?!"
Turles and Bardock turned. Angila and Wings were marching up. Angila spoke elegantly, but bluntly. "Our siblings fought tooth-and-nail in this war we are sewn so firmly into. We could never abandon their fight."
Wings sneered. "And I gotta spill some blood for poor Medamatcha too! Crushed by a rock is a shameful way for a demon to die!"
The Minimatcha shrieked and began to jump up and down on Wings' shoulder. Next to step up was Daiz. He chuckled. "Turles, man, if I hadn't met you...I'd still be a slave on Pandora. Don't ever ask me to leave you to die like this!"
Lakasei and Raisen both leaped into view. "Turles gave us new life! Turles is our progenitor! Our ally! Our friend! We belong at Turles' side!"
Turles frowned. "Y-You guys..."
Behind them all, the leftover troops of the Demon Crushers began to cry out as well in support of their Captain. And then Slug stepped up, cold and silent. Turles frowned at him. He knew how the old Namekian must be feeling right now. Slug was a bitter old man, and he never outwardly showed it, but he did love his children quite a bit. Turles spoke timidly. "Slug..."
Slug gripped his fists hard enough that his knuckles cracked all at once. "I will not lose any more sons today, you hear me Turles? Don't you dare go thinking you're allowed to die..."
Turles' lower jaw quivered. "Sl-"
The sound of Zangya taking off made everyone flinch. The Heran woman flew upward at top speed, not stopping to say so much as a word. Slug growled. "Saw that coming..."
Daiz sneered. "That bitch!"
Angila rolled his eyes. "Disloyal space trash..."
Bardock was silent. Turles, however, smiled. He looked to where he had left Bonyu laying and found that she was no longer there. Then his looked up to Zangya again, flying towards the Planet Cruiser. "I can't be mad at her. This was never her fight to begin with. She's already done too much..."
The rumbling this time was too much to ignore. With a massive explosion, the rubble that was once Dr. Wheelo's sanctum blasted away. It was silent for a moment, then heavy footsteps began to echo out. Turles chuckled. "Last chance, Bardock. You could go home to your family right now..."
Bardock's Super Saiyan power erupted in a golden inferno. He took a fighting stance. "Our family! My answer is no!"
A dome of green, crackling electricity emerged from the crater where Dr. Wheelo once lived. Hatchiyack stomped out, looking utterly furious. He sneered and then roared, sending shockwaves along the ruined planet's surface. Turles cracked his neck. "Hey, Raisen. Gimme your scouter!"
Raisen obeyed, plucking off his scouter and tossing it to Turles. Turles tried to put it on, realized the the eye is would normally cover wasn't there, and then flipped it and put it over the other eye. Slug glared over at him. "What are you doing?"
Turles pressed the button on the side of the Scouter interface. "I'm scanning. This situation may seem hopeless...but this thing is no main villain in this little story of our. Just a brainless henchman. It has to have some kind of weakness..."
Hatchiyack roared again and then came bounding toward the weary group of space pirates. The Demon Crushers all took one last look around at one another, and then they roared right back and charged!
On the Planet Cruiser...
Miss Hisho was fearfully peering over the port side of the Planet Cruiser when Zangya came shooting up. The Heran woman landed on the deck behind the cowering secretary, an injured and unconscious Bonyu slung over her shoulder. Hisho turned to Zangya and cried out. "Miss Zangya! What's going on down there?! Did a nuke go off?!"
Zangya ignored Hisho, instead marching toward the Control Deck. Hisho took one more look over the port side, and then quickly gave chase to her enigmatic crewmate.
She followed Zangya all the way to the medical bay, where the Heran roughly tossed Bonyu into a healing chamber, and then followed her again to the ship's helm. Hisho watched as Zangya began to press buttons on the control panel, her teal face stern and set. "Wh-What are you doing, Miss Zangya?"
Zangya glared over at her. "Do you have any experience in flying this sort of thing?"
Hisho flinched. She cleared her throat. "I-I didn't think I would, but when Turles was showing it off to me, it didn't look that much different than the ship my old boss used to make me drive him around in..."
She shook her head. "But, why do you ask? We can't go anywhere...Turles and the others aren't back yet..."
Zangya went back to ignoring her, trying to figure out how to get the ship moving. Hisho gasped. "Y-You aren't trying to abandon everyone, are you?!"
Zangya spoke bluntly. "What if I am? You don't know these people any better than I do. Why do you care?"
Hisho stammered back. "B-But...Turles is so nice! Why would you-"
Zangya sneered. "Says the girl who wasn't wearing shackles..."
Hisho flinched. "But, I-"
Zangya glared at her. "You slept with him."
Hisho snapped back. "Well, so did you!"
Zangya stopped working. She stood up tall, taller than Hisho anyway, and slowly marched toward the cowering secretary. "And does that mean that I'm supposed to stay here and fight and die for him, huh? The fact that I used him for my own pleasure? Are you really so naïve?!"
Hisho backed up against the wall. "But...he loves you."
Zangya stopped, flinching back. "Wh-What...?"
Hisho nodded. "He said as much. He loves you. He loves me. He loves us all. He might be a bit selfish, a bit rowdy, maybe even a bit evil...but her genuinely loves everyone on this ship. We laid there after we...you know...and I just listened to him talk about it all. I heard how genuine his voice was. He...he loves us, Zangya. Are you really that callous...?"
Zangya slammed her hand on the wall next to Hisho's head. "SHUT YOUR MOUTH!"
Hisho cowered. Zangya sneered. "You don't know me...you don't get to talk to me about love or any of that other pointless bullshit! I..."
Footstep echoed out from the doorway and Zangya and Hisho both turned their heads. There stood Bonyu, eyes still damaged and dripping with healing chamber fluid. Floating next to her was a little ki construct shaped like an eye. Zangya sneered. "What do you want?! Shouldn't you be healing?!"
Bonyu nodded. "I definitely should be. You certainly made sure that I made it up here to heal..."
Hisho fell silent. Zangya frowned. Bonyu let loose a tired chuckle. "You could have left me to die, any yet here I am...so the real question Zangya is this: if you're trying to figure out how to fly the ship...then where exactly are you planning on flying it?"
Back down on M1...
Bardock roared like a wild animal as he charged at Hatchiyack, slamming his fist into the golem's chest and making it stumble back. Hatchiyack snarled. Bardock smirked. "Not quite the wall you thought you were, huh? They never are! King Cold thought he was invincible too, now he's dead!"
Hatchiyack raised its fist to attack, but Slug's arm quickly stretched in and seized it around the wrist. "You're too damned cocky! We haven't won yet!"
Slug motioned around. "FIRE!"
All of the lesser troops obeyed, opening fire with a storm of energy blasts that quickly kicked up a huge cloud of dust. Hatchiyack screamed at the top of its lungs and sent out a shockwave that toppled over most of the troops. Bardock chuckled. "They didn't even scratch that thing..."
Slug scoffed. "They weren't meant to!"
The moment Hatchiyack's screaming came to a stop, Slug fired his Darkness Eye Beams right into the monster's eyes. Hatchiyack pressed its hands to its face and snarled again. Slug glanced to the side. "Turles needs time to discern a weakness. We're a distraction, at best, for now."
Lakasei and Raisen both leapt in, each with a giant ki blast charged over their heads. But, Hatchiyack quickly responded to their efforts with a harsh punch to each of their jaws, sending them crashing backward in a heap. Wings cames charging in and locked up with the massive, pink golem. He snarled. "You think you're so strong, huh?!"
Hatchiyack sneered, but then smirked. And then, he wrenched Wings' wrists back and snapped both of his forearms in half. Wings screamed in pain, but then the Minimatcha leapt off of his shoulder and clamped onto Hatchiyack's face. The little imp did its job, just as its father has once ordered, and began to try and siphon energy out of the brute. For a moment, it seemed to be working...but then Hatchiyack fired a beam from its mouth and the Minimatcha was burned away into little more than ash.
Wings cried out, sorrow in his voice. "Minimatcha, no! Not you too..."
As the lumbering demon began to grieve, Hatchiyack raised his arm high into the arm. It came down with the force of a sledgehammer, sure to shatter Wings' skull like a vase, only to Angila to leapt into the fray at the last moment and deliver a swift kick to Hatchiyack's jaw. Wings sobbed. "Minimatcha...he was all that I had left..."
Angila sneered. "Mourn later, Wings!"
Wings laid on the ground, sobbing and crippled. He was trying to move his arms, but they were both bent at whooly unnatural angles. Angila flinched, feeling hefty pangs of sorrow and rage. It was setting in more and more by the second how rapidly his brothers were disappearing from him life. This moment of distraction was enough for Hatchiyack to rocket up behind Angila and draw its fist. Bardock called out. "ANGILA!"
The Saiyan kicked the Demon out of the way and caught Hatchiyack's mighty blow. The sheer force of the punch was enough to make Bardock sink into the ground. The golem raised its fist a second time and brought it crashing down again, this time wreathed in energy. The energy crashed down onto Bardock's head with the force of a falling anvil and made what was left of his chest armor shatter off. A small burst of blood came shooting out of Bardock's nose and he grumbled to himself. "Holy shit...stronger than Cell. Stronger than Cell by a longshot..."
Bardock fired a blast that sent Hatchiyack off balance and then leapt away. "Even Gohan might have trouble killing this thing...and I'm not even a Super Saiyan 2..."
Turles leapt over to Bardock, still scanning with his borrowed Scouter. "What's a Super Saiyan 2? Another version of that silly gold thing you keep calling 'Super Saiyan'?"
Bardock rolled his eyes. "Yeah. Ramps up power quite a bit. Tends to make the really angry. At least, from what I observed in my grandson..."
Turles stroked his chin. "Perhaps a rapid multiplicity of S-Cells? Maybe and aggravation of some kind?"
Bardock shrugged. "You're the scientist..."
Turles nodded. "Yeah. I was kinda talking to myself there, no offense."
Bardock and Turles watched as Daiz and Lord Slug both leapt in for their next turns with Hatchiyack. Despite Slug's immense strength, and despite Daiz's use of long-distance techniques, neither was making a dent in the pastel beast and both were suffering heavy damage. A blast from the golem shredded the last of Slug's tunic, reveal his tired and wrinkled body. Hatchiyack zipped over to Daiz and punched him in the head, making blood erupt from the warrior's ears.
Then Angila and Raisen were back in for their turns again. Bardock shook his head. "This is hopeless. Have you found any advantage for us?"
Turles didn't answer, instead staring intently as he tried to read the Scouter interface upside-down. "Uh...I think..."
Slug suddenly exploded to a massive size. The hulking, old Namekian raised his boot high into the air and then drop it onto Hatchiyack in a bedrock-shattering axe stomp. But even that did not work. Once the dust cleared, Hatchiyack was left unscathed, holding up Slug's massive foot with one hand. And, with the other, he shot up an energy blast that nailed Slug right in the face. The Namekian stagged back and Hatchiyack jumped up, sending Slug crashing down with a thunderous kick to the chest.
Turles listened with a grim look on his face as Hatchiyack beat the daylights out of Slug. He spoke. "I think it's pinpointed what we're going to have to do..."
Bardock cocked his head. "Yeah?"
The Scouter gave off one last chime and Turles curtly nodded. "Yeah! Come on! We gotta save Slug!"
The two brothers immediately rushed into the fray, coming upon the gruesome sight of everyone fighting Hatchiyack atop Slug's caved in chest. There were dead soldiers everywhere. Raisen was lying in a pool of his own blood. Lakasei was hanging onto one of Hatchiyack's legs. Meanwhile, Angila and Daiz were giving their best to try and do any damage to this invincible demon they were facing.
Bardock groaned. "What a sight..."
And then he charged, using his Tyrant Lancer to crash into Hatchiyack's chest and scoop the monster into the air. Unperturbed, Hatchiyack immediately switched the focus of its wrath onto Bardock, squeezing his head like a melon. Bardock gritted his teeth, feeling his skull begin to crack. "You goddamned sadistic monster..."
With a burst of power, Bardock launched Hatchiyack higher into the air. Then, he raced above the golem and summoned a Destructo-Disc. "Eat this, freak!"
Bardock threw the Destructo-Disc and it hit Hatchiyack center-mass. The older Saiyan watched as the attack shredded into the outer layer of Hatchiyack's skin, only to be blocked by a barrier of the monster's green energy. Bardock sneered. "Damn it!"
And then he summoned a massive energy blast and shot it right in Hatchiyack's face, sending his foe crashing down into the ground and away from Slug and the others. Hatchiyack landed with a massive explosion, but Bardock didn't rest easy. "No way in hell this is over..."
Bardock landed just as Slug was shrinking back to normal size. The Namekian was hacking up a lung, holding his injured chest and struggling to stand. Bardock landed. "So, Turles, that weakness...what is it?"
Turles was rubbing Slug's back. He sighed. "Well, after watching that display between you and Hatchiyack, I'm actually a lot less confident in it..."
Bardock snapped. "Just tell me what it is! That thing isn't going to stay down long! I need something to work with!"
Turles nodded. "Hatchiyack's power source is the Revenger Crystal in its forehead. The thing looks organic, but it's definitely fully-mechanical. Going by what the Scouter said, its entire inner structure is made of organic-styled fiber optic cables. Basically, artificial veins that rapidly run power through its entire body..."
Bardock nodded. "Go on."
With Slug back on his feet, Turles stood up straight. "All of those cables in Hatchiyack's body have a common source, and that would be the Revenger Crystal itself. The power that thing produces is pumping through Hatchiyack's body like blood. Giving it strength. So, in actuality, the only way to really kill that monster would be to cut off its head."
Bardock snorted. "Cliche."
Slug rolled his eyes. "Obvious."
Turles nodded. "Both assessments are correct. But you've also left out 'extraordinarily difficult given our circumstances'. Bardock used that cutting disc attack on Hatchiyack almost immediately countered. It can't regenerate, so it's focused on not being dismembered whilst trying to dismember us. Cutting off its head might very well be impossible given how beat up most of us are..."
A dome of green energy exploded in the distance and then, moments later, Hatchiyack landed back near the Demon Crushers with a thunderous crash. One of the monster's hands was pressed to its stomach, which was seeping glowing, green fluid. The other was balled into a fist as it stared holes right through Bardock. Bardock smirked. "Well...I've pissed it off. Perfect~"
The older Saiyan charged forward. "I'll take some punishment for a while! You guys take Slug and let him rest up for a few minutes!"
With his Super Saiyan power flaring, Bardock charged right into the fray against Hatchiyack. He ducked a punch from the golem and then responded with an uppercut of his own. Hatchiyack snarled and raised both hands into the air, charging a blast. Bardock flinched. "Shit, no time to dodge..."
Hatchiyack started to heave the blast down, but then Turles' sharpened piece of rebar came spearing right towards the monster's throat. Hatchiyack's eyes went wide and it jerked out of the way. Taking advantage, Bardock leapt up with a ki-enfused ki and struck down on the ki blast, smashing it right into its owner's face.
Then Turles came shooting in, forming a ring with his thumb and index finger. "KILL DRIVER!"
The energy ring shot out from Turles' hand and crashed into Hatchiyack's chest, searing a perfect circle in the golem's flesh. Bardock leapt in right after, his fist glowing with hellish flames, and punch at the burn mark Turles had made. "VIRTUE OF RAGING FLAMES!"
Bardock's punch rang true, crashing through the weakness in Hatchiyack's chest and sending the monster stumbling back. Bardock and Turles both landed on the ground in front of the snarling golem. Bardock shouted. "I told you to fall back!"
Turles smirked. "Not a chance, big brother. Not even a little one~"
Bardock took a fighting stance. "And just what is that goofy-ass smirk about?!"
Turles chuckled. "Nostalgia, I guess. Just you and me against the weight of the world. Just like old times, huh? If only Tursa could see us now~"
Bardock tried to fight it, but he couldn't help his smile. "If that vain, lazy bitch is watching over us, the least she could do it send down an attack or two~"
Hatchiyack recovered, its eyes glowing a hideous green. It glared at Turles and Bardock, tightening its fists so tight its knuckles popped like shotgun blasts, and seethed a new word. "SAIYANS!"
Bardock laughed. "It learned a new word? Do you think that signifies some form of higher intelligence?!"
Turles charged forward. "It's trying to murder my friends! I don't care!"
Bardock and Turles both rushed in and began hammering on the monster Hatchiyack. Turles went for easy weak-points: knees, ankles, other key joints, and tried to sweep them to throw Hatchiyack off balance. Then, Bardock came crashing in for the big hits to do actual damage. The kept this rhythm up, acting as each other's switch hitters and never letting Hatchiyack get comfortable.
This all culminated in each of the two of them summoning all of the ki they could muster and slamming it into Hatchiyack from two directions. "CALAMITY BLASTER!"
The combined strength of Bardock and Turles' ki made for a planet-shaking explosion. The force of the attack sent them both flying back. Turles called out to Bardock. "You think we got hGGGGGHH!"
Bardock called back. "What did you-?!"
The older brother's eyes went wide. Hatchiyack emerged from the smoke of Bardock and Turles' attack, Turles' throat gripped tight in the monster's left hand. Before Bardock could defend, Hatchiyack seized him by the neck and squeezed harder. The golem held both of the Saiyan brothers up high. The two of them kicked and attempted to fight back, but the monster's grip was too strong. Hatchiyack stared at the choking Saiyans with utter hatred in its eyes...and then squeezed even harder. Turles wretched, his remaining eye bugging out. Bardock tried to pry the monster's fingers apart, but his strength rapidly drained. His Super Saiyan form eventually petered out and he was left dangling there, right next to Turles.
This was bad. Despite their best efforts, the two Saiyans were now entirely helpless. Both of them hanging there. Bardock couldn't breathe and it was safe to assume that Turles couldn't either. Consciousness was rapidly fading, as was strength. Bardock's arms fell limp, he sneered. "Damn it, Gine. I'm...I'm sorry. G-Gine...I...I..."
And then, a hand reached out and gripped Bardock's left. Consciousness snapped back into place and Bardock jerked his head to his left side as best he could. "T-Turles...?"
Turles' grip was weak, but his hand was glued to his brother's. He let loose a small, weak chuckle and stared over at Bardock. "This...sucks..."
Bardock gritted his teeth. Turles continued. "...at the end of the day, I break Gine's heart even more. Damn it. How is she going to react to me getting her husband killed..."
Turles smiled. "But...I'm so happy that I got to see you. That you came looking for me. It made...it made all these years' worth it to know that you never forgot about me..."
Bardock choked. "Tur-"
Tears streamed down Turles' cheek. He smiled wide. "I love you, big brother~"
Bardock's eyes began to sting. He squeezed Turles' hand hard. "...love you too."
And then, as both of the Saiyan brother's prepared to face their eminent deaths, something miraculous happened...THEY COULD BREATHE!
The two of them lifted their heads. Had Hatchiyack taken pity on them?! The answer was clearly "no" once they saw the golem's face. Hatchiyack was clearly in a state of shock, shock that its strength was trickling away. It was shocked because something was clearly wrong. Bardock stuttered. "Wh-What the hell?!"
Turles stared in the longest five seconds of silence he had ever endured...but then an epiphany struck him like a bolt of lightning. "The Revenger Crystal can turn anything into energy. Even emotions. The Tuffles hate us and this is a tool for revenger. The Revenger Crystal must be attuned to absorb hatred and turn it into power...which means..."
The scientist's eye went wide. He thought about Angila and Wings' hateful vengeance for their lost brothers. He thought of Slug. Of Zangya. Of Bardock's raging, golden transformation. Of his own hatred. And then he shouted at the top of his lungs. "HOLY SHIT! WE'VE BEEN MAKING IT STRONGER THIS ENTIRE TIME!"
Turles turned his head to Bardock, Hatchiyack's grip around his neck loose. "Oh, Bardock! I could kiss you~"
Bardock's cheeks erupted red. "Wh-What?! Why say embarassing shit like that?!"
The grip around their necks loosened again. Turles shot a blast in Hatchiyack's face and the golem dropped them both. He smiled and laughed. "It started losing strength the second we began to work together! It lost even more when we thought we were gonna die! And it lost even more when I showed you affection! This is so, so..."
Bardock looked disgusted as he summoned back his Super Saiyan strength. "So horribly cheezy..."
Miss Hisho's voice rang out from the sky. "THE POWER OF LOVE IS AMAZING!"
Bonyu chuckled. "YES, IT IS!"
Bardock and Turles both looked up just in time to see the twinkle of a compressed energy blast. Then the Planet Cruiser's computer called out. "NOW FIRING: T.U.R.S.A. CANNON."
A massive, rail beam of energy shot down from the upper atmosphere and crashed right into Hatchiyack. Unawares and weakened due to a lack of its power source, the golem barely had time to throw up a barrier to defend. It was stuck in place. Bardock called out. "Turles! What the hell is going on?!"
Turles smirked. "That would be the ship's T.U.R.S.A. Cannon~ It's a refurbished planetary mining drill that I retrofitted for interstellar combat~"
Bardock nodded. "Oh. I see."
He paused. "...Tursa Cannon, huh?"
Turles chuckled. "She's always watching over me~ Over us~"
Bardock rolled his eyes. "All of this sap is making me sick..."
"You and me both, ya scar-faced prick!"
Bardock and Turles both snapped their attention back to where Hatchiyack was being pressed down. A spout of high-pressure water shot up behind Hatchiyack and out came Zangya. Immediately, her hair wrapped around Hatchiyack, binding the golem in place. And then, Zangya summoned another high-pressure sphere of water between her hands. "WATER SLICER!"
Hatchiyack's jaw hung slack as the burst of high-pressure water tore through the flesh of its neck, sending a watery, green burst shooting out from jaw beneath its chin. The barrier fell and Zangya's hair rapidly unraveled, working with the water around his to pull her back into the hole. She flipped Hatchiyack off. "Later, asshole!"
The green energy bubble burst apart and Hatchiyack was hammered hard into the ground, driven further and further down as rubble came apart and a deeper and deeper crater was dug in. By the time Zangya resurfaced between Bardock and Turles, the cannon finished firing its shot. Zangya turned to the newly formed crater and whistled. "Damn...you think that got the thing?"
Turles shook his head. "Not a chance. It was a good cut, Zangya, but it was only half way..."
Bardock and Zangya both looked at Turles with an incredulous look. Bardock spoke calmly and rationally. "Uh, I know you're the scientist Turles...but if something cut half way through my neck, I'm pretty sure I'd be considered decapitated..."
Turles nodded. "Indeed. It's rather unfortunate that your body isn't run by fiber optics."
Zangya cocked her head. "What's that mean?"
Turles continued. "It means that Dr. Raichi is a genius. The cables that power Hatchiyack's body are designed to evenly distribute work, so none of them are ever working at full capacity. Instead of one big cable doing 100% of the work, it's a hundred smaller cables each doing one percent. All we've accomplished in Zangya cutting half way through the neck and making the remaining half of the cables increase energy distribution by one percent..."
Bardock groaned. "So what you're saying is..."
The ground began to shake, a column of green energy erupting from Hatchiyack's crater. Turles nodded. "What I'm saying is that this is all or nothing. We totally chop off Hatchiyack's head, or he can still function as if it were fully attached..."
Hatchiyack landed with a furious, hateful glare. Its ki was surging like a high-pressure geyser. Zangya sneered. "Great."
The Heran summoned two water blades on her arms and glared right back at Hatchiyack. "And I've made this thing just pissed enough that its going to be furiously guarding that neck going forward..."
Bardock rolled his eyes and took a fighting stance. "Way to go, Zangya..."
Zangya sneered at him, taking a fighting stance of her own. "FUCK OFF!"
Turles placed a hand on Zangya's shoulder. "You...you don't have to stay, ya know? If you wanna escape with your life, you can-"
Zangya dropped her fighting stance. She turned and grabbed Turles by the back of his head, pulling him close and stealing a fiery kiss. Bardock blushed again and averted his eyes. "Damn it already with the goddamned PDA..."
Turles and Zangya seperated, Zangya blushing all her own and Turles looking confused. The scientist stammered. "I... uh..."
Zangya groaned. "L-Look...I'm not ready to...love...again. Not yet. Maybe not ever again. But...if I'm going to ever try that again with anyone...it might as well be you, Turles..."
She turned from him and took on her fighting stance once more. "So, don't ask me to leave you while I'm trying to sort all of this out in my head, okay?"
Turles was a bit taken aback at first, but not in a bad way. Eventually, he smiled and took a fighting stance right next to Zangya. "You got it~"
And then, Turles called out. "AND THE REST OF YOU?!"
One-by-one, the others all gathered up behind Bardock, Turles, and Zangya. Angila, Daiz, Lakasei, and Raisen all took fighting stances. Wings' arms were shattered beyond use, but he stood beside all of his comrades all the same. Bringing up the rear was Lord Slug, some of his stamina recouped from his short respite. "Only half a neck left to cut? I was expecting a challenge..."
Hatchiyack snarled at its continued opposition. Its eyes radiated pure hate as its energy surged. Turles smiled wide. "Everyone..."
The golem rushed at them with a furious scream. Turles chuckled. "I love you all. I love you all so much. I'm glad to have you guys as my family..."
The fire surged from Turles' eye. He thrust his fist forward and charged right toward Hatchiyack. "LET'S GET THAT CRYSTAL!"
The rest of the the Demon Crushers followed suit, with Bardock and Zangya right behind Turles. The group crashed against Hatchiyack and an all-out brawl for survival began once more. Hatchiyack was heavily damaged, but not slowing down in the slightest. The Demon Crushers were injured, but they outnumbered Hatchiyack by quite a bit.
The pressure was on! They had 50% of a neck to get through.
Daiz and Angila took the spear position pretty quickly, hammering into Hatchiyack with all of their strength, trying to aim for the monster's head and cause even a fraction more damage. A bloody red ki ball surged in Daiz' hand and he tossed it with all his strength. "METEOR BALL!"
Hatchiyack batted away the attack with little effort, snarling with rage, only to be met by the snarling face of Angila. "THIS IS FOR MY BROTHERS!"
The demon opened his mouth wide and charged a massive ki attack in his mouth. "EVIL QUASAR!"
The blast crashed hard into the gushing wound on Hatchiyack's chest and made the monster stumble. Thrown off balance, the golem had no leverage to fight against the psychic hold of Lakasei and Raisen. The both shouted out. "YOUR CRYSTAL BELONGS TO TURLES!"
And then Angila and Daiz rushed in again. Daiz smashed a swift kick into the left side of Hatchiyack's face, making the monster's head stretch harshly to the right, and Angila followed up with a harsh kick to the right side of Hatchiyack's face, making the monster's head snap back to the left, causing skin to tear and fiber optic cables to snap.
Angila cried out. "We managed to damage him!"
Daiz shouted. "His head is slightly more decapitated!"
Hatchiyack snarled in fury and shot beams from its eyes, piercing through Daiz's chest and Angila's side. Both of the Demon Crusher's had taken all of the damage they could and fell to the ground unconscious. Having regained its senses, Hatchiyack quickly broke free of Lakasei and Raisen's hold, rushing towards them and punting both of them in separate directions. Hatchiyack roared in triumph!
And then a piece of sharpened rebar pierced through the monster's chest. Turles called out. "Nice job guys! Cut depth is 60 percent!"
Using all the strength he could muster, Turles yanked on the rebar and pulled Hatchiyack into the air, slamming the monster down onto its head. "CUT DEPTH 62 PERCENT! YOU'VE ALL EARNED A NICE REST! LEAVE THIS TO US!"
Zangya leapt in, another high-pressure ball of water pressed between her hands. She shot the attack down at Hatchiyack, aiming for a full and clean cut. But the monster refused to make things that easy. It managed to buck Turles off and roll away just in time to avoid most of the attack.
Zangya landed on her feet with a sneer. "Shit!"
Turles landed in a heap, but quickly hopped back to his normal stance. "Not shit! 65 percent cut depth!"
He held up his hand. "High five!"
Zangya glared at him for a brief moment, but then returned the high five with a weary sigh. In that instance, Hatchiyack leapt back up and charged right at them with a furious scream. Turles and Zangya both flinched back, but then Slug landed between the two of them and caught Hatchiyack mid-charge. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TWO DOING?!"
Turles chuckled. "S-Sorry Slug..."
Bardock leapt onto Slug's shoulders, back-flipping over the aged Namekian and delivering a savage stomp down onto the back of Hatchiyack's head. The golem's face smashed into the ground with incredible force, tearing more skin and snapping more cables. At that same moment, Lord Slug began to grow massive once more. However, this time he kept his hand tightly gripped around Hatchiyack's entire body. "I don't plan to stomp you this time! Some bugs require a more direct approach!"
And then, Slug slammed Hatchiyack head first into the ground, dragging it along and further widening the depth of the cut before tossing the monster into a nearby heap of rubble. Slug called down to Turles. "How about now?!"
Turles called back up. "I didn't get to see that well, but I would say we got him up to 80 percent cut depth! We're getting closer by the attack!"
Slug nodded. "Good. Now, let's-"
A massive beam of energy shot from the rubble and pierced through Slug's throat. A massive gusher of purple blood exploded from the Namekian's mouth and he staggered back and began to shrink. Turles called out in horror. "SLUG!"
Turles looked back to the source of the attack and saw Hatchiyack standing tall. The wound on the monster's neck was wide and gushing with glowing, green fluid. But it didn't seem to care. Hatchiyack snarled, its ki flaring even harder than before. Turles shouted. "You bastard!"
Enraged, Turles shot forward and charged a blast in his hand. Bardock charged after him. "Damn it, Turles! Don't lose your head this late in the game!"
But Turles wasn't listening. In his head, at that one moment, every loss Turles had accrued since landing on M1 played through his head and, for the first time in his life, his Saiyan instincts truly shined through.
He wanted blood!
Turles rocketed right up to Hatchiyack, slamming a ki blast into the golem's face. However, the smoke cleared and Hatchiyack was left mostly unarmed. In an instant, the monster whipped its arm up into the air and used it to smash Turles to the ground. The monster snarled down upon Turles, raising both hands and forming a massive ki sphere. As it tried to bring the attack down onto Turles' head, Bardock quickly intercepted. With all of his Super Saiyan strength surging, Bardock held onto Hatchiyack. "DAMN IT, TURLES! THIS IS NO TIME FOR YOU TO TAKE THE STUPID TWIN HAT!"
Turles shakily pushed himself up. "B-Bardock...?"
Bardock held onto Hatchiyack as tight as he could. He called down to his brother, collapsed on the ground at his feet. "You said it yourself! We're at 80 percent cut depth! This is no time to lose our cool! We've nearly won, Turles!"
Bardock glanced down and smiled at him. "80 percent! Then we're done here!"
Turles nodded, reaching into his pants and pulling out the hypodermic needle containing Bardock's blood. He turned the plunger on the syringe and the plasma within began to glow gold. "80 percent..."
Bardock roared. "80 PERCENT!"
And then, a familiar accent cried out at the top of his lungs. "NINETY-FIVE!"
Bardock's eyes went wide. Turles fumbled and dropped the syringe, fruitlessly reaching out as it went tumbling. And Salza, in all of his Brenchian glory, leapt in behind Hatchiyack and took a massive chop at the monster's neck with his Sauzer Blade.
Tumbling head over heels, Salza crashed hard into the ground and irradiated blood geyser from his mouth. Turles called out in surprise. "Salza?! You're alive!"
The ki above Hatchiyack's head dispersed and the monster slumped over. Bardock took a trepidatious step back. He knew that this wasn't over yet...but he needed to make sure that Salza was all right. The two brothers both landed feet-first on the ground. Gently, the two of them helped Salza to his feet. Bardock smirked. "Hey there, Brenchie. I heard you all died in an explosion. Good to see you alive~"
Salza coughed and more blood splattered to the ground. "Mange de la merde et meurs..."
Turles sounded significantly more concerned. "Are Dore and Neiz okay?"
Salza nodded. "Alive. Zat is all zat matters..."
As Salza and the two Saiyans talked below, the life flickered back into Hatchiyack's eyes. The golem knew that things were bad. Only five of the cables connecting its neck to its head were still intact. It could still function at maximum capacity, but it couldn't take any chances. These Saiyans were obstinate. Hatchiyack needed a power boost. It needed hate. But...where would the hate come from? As long as those accursed Saiyans had each other, they could remain calm and in control. What could Hatchiyack do to break that bond?!
The golem looked out across the battlefield. Unconscious scum littered the area. Only two of them were on their feet. That accursed, water-spouting Heran...and that Namekian. That Namekian.
The lesser Saiyan lost his cool when that Namekian was injured. And that Namekian was still injured. A hideous grin crossed Hatchiyack's face and it opened its mouth wide. This would properly stoke the fires of hatred. Bardock looked up as the energy blast began to glow in Hatchiyack's mouth. "OH SHIT! IT'S AWAKE!"
Bardock leapt up to intercept, but it was too late. Hatchiyack fired a massive energy beam out of its mouth and sent it shooting right at Lord Slug and Zangya. Zangya gasped and flinched back. One of Slug's hands was gripped around the hole in his throat. No time to dodge. Only one thing he could do. Slug grabbed Zangya by her hair and roughly tossed her out of the line of fire.
Zangya cried out as she flew through the air. "NO!"
Bardock shouted. "SHIT!"
Turles' voice harshly broke as he screamed at the top of his lungs. "SLUG!"
Lord Slug closed his eyes, ready to accept his fate. He thought upon his children one last time. And then the blast struck true. A massive flash spread across the battlefield. And a huge cloud of dust kicked up. Once the light dimmed down and the dust settled, everyone looked at where Slug had been standing...and found him collapsed onto the ground just out to the side of the massive rut the attack had dug into the ground. Slug himself had a dire, sorrowful look on his face.
The rest of the smoke cleared and the reason why became readily apparent. Lying next to the rut, his legs and one of his arms missing, was the half-destroyed form of Wings. The demon's eyes were half-lidded, but he had a smile on his face as he stared at his master. Lord Slug spoke in a hushed tone. "Wings..."
Wings chuckled. "Forgive me for breaking your one rule, Lord Slug. But..."
His eyes closed. "I love you, Father. Take care of Angila. And... stay alive."
And thus, Wings was dead. The entire battlefield was stunned into a shocked silence. But, Hatchiyack had won as its ki began to swell. All of the nodes across Hatchiyack's body began to glow. It crossed its arms over its chest. This would finish them off for sure. All at once, all of Hatchiyack's foes converged on it. Turles, Bardock, Salza, Zangya, and even Slug charged.
Of course, they did. After all, Hatchiyack only had a little bit of attachment left between its neck and head. And yet, they were all doomed to fail. All of Hatchiyack's nodes were glowing bright green, as was the Revenger Crystal. As all of its foes closed in, Hatchiyack's power reached its peak. And then it roared as the top of its lungs and let all of the energy burst forth. "REVENGER CANNON!"
Somehow, some way, the explosion that was set off was even larger and more devastating that Dr. Gete's. The entire area around Hatchiyack was crushed flat and its foes were sent flying all around.
Once the dust settled, the golem was left to bask in its despicable deed. Slug, Zangya, and Salza were all lain in a heap, totally unconscious. Turles was on the ground as well, though still conscious. Something was gripped in the scientist's fist as he desperately tried to push himself up.
What little of Turles' grunts that were still alive were moaning in agony, none able to so much as lift a finger.
And then their was Bardock, the most obstinate of the bunch. He was firmly on his feet, covered in damaged and injuries. He glared at Hatchiyack, his Super Saiyan aura little more than a flicker. A feather could have knocked him over. But still, the elder brother stood between Hatchiyack and Turles. He would die before Hatchiyack could kill his brother.
Hatchiyack smirked and began to stomp forward, charging a killing blow in one of its hands. Bardock was staring death in the face. And, eye-to-eye with the inevitable, Bardock let loose a tired chuckle. "Shit...what do I do now? Any ideas Turles? Another shot of the Tursa Cannon, maybe?"
Turles shook his head. "No. That will still need to cycle another three minutes. It's useless to us..."
The scientist coughed. "I want to radio Bonyu and Hisho to leave...but I don't have a way to do that..."
Bardock gripped his fists, taking a limp fighting stance. "Well shit...I guess it's death then?"
As Hatchiyack stomped closer and closer, Turles shook his head. "Not quite, though I'm disappointed to have to sacrifice this..."
Bardock spat. "You ain't sacrificing shit so long as I'm standing. Save what you have left for when I die!"
Turles pushed himself to his knees. "Can't do that, Bardock. Sorry..."
Bardock frowned. "Turles, this isn't an argument! I-"
Turles sighed. "I wanted to do this together. But, oh well...I'm too injured to be of any use..."
Bardock turned around and glared down at his little brother. "Turles! Shut your-"
Turles lunged forward and jammed the hypodermic needle gripped in his fist into Bardock's chest. And then, without hesitation, he pushed the plunger down. Bardock fell silent. Turles smiled and chuckled. "For just a moment, I wanted to see what that golden form feels like...but I wouldn't be much use as banged up as I am..."
And then, Turles lost consciousness and fell backwards. "Kill that thing, Bardock. And then we go and see Gine~"
Turles hit the ground with a thud. Hatchiyack stopped in its tracks. What the hell did that one Saiyan just do?!
Bardock stood there, feeling his heart beating in his chest. This rhythm, this heat, this power...it all felt so familiar. What was this? What had Turles just done? What was happening to Bardock? What was-
Something snapped in Bardock's head and his pupils shrank. And then, all at once, his power erupted out in a fresh burst. Bardock's hair spiked up even harder and lightning began to crackle around his entire body. His fingertips were numb. His spine was tingling like crazy. Bardock gripped his fists tight and then he turned and faced Hatchiyack, the mere act of taking a step shattering the ground beneath his feet. Bardock looked down at his hands, at his surging power, and he mumbled to himself. "Super Saiyan 2?"
Hatchiyack snarled, roaring at the top of its lungs with a massive ki blast gripped in its palm. It tried to slam the attack right onto Bardock's head, but a mere slap from the newly ascended Super Saiyan tore Hatchiyack's entire arm off. The golem fell to its knees, screaming in fury and gripping the stump where its arm was once attached. Bardock was taken aback. He held up his hand and shook his head. "No... I take it back. You wouldn't stand a chance against my grandson. Not a chance in Hell. Holy shit, this power..."
Hatchiyack screamed at Bardock, its power rapidly fading away. Bardock nodded. "I see what it's like now. I'm not angry...I don't feel any real hatred...I'm calm. I'm...calm."
The golem cringed back as Bardock loomed in front of it. The Saiyan smirked. "Oh well, I guess you lose this time around, huh? That's a shame. A real shame. I honestly kind of agree with Turles in that I feel bad for you Tuffles. But..."
Bardock gripped his fist tight, summoning a burning wreathe of fire onto it. "...you bastards killed a lot of people I liked today. So, rot in hell, Hatchiyack!"
Hatchiyack screamed in Bardock's face and Bardock thrust his fist forward, burying it into the golem's mouth and ripping its head right off of its shoulders. "BURNING JAVELIN!"
Bardock watched as Hatchiyack's head went spiraling through the air, crashing into the ground. The golem let loose one final, snarling growl. And then its eyes went dark. The headless corpse of Hatchiyack tumbled onto its side, totally dead. Bardock turned from his now decapitated foe and chuckled. "Cut depth 100 percent~! We did it, Turles! We-"
The Super Saiyan 2 power dispersed in an instant and Bardock fell back into his base form. The smile remained plastered on Bardock's face as his eyes rolled back and he fell face-first onto the ground. Victorious!
IN THE BATTLE OF M1, THE DEMON CRUSHERS ARE THE VICTORS OF THE DAY!
