Chapter 604: Tree Hill High School
Tuesday, March 7th, Afternoon
She stood outside the locker room; she did this yesterday but was looking for someone different. As the girls left the locker room, she acknowledged everyone. She studied everyone with detached ease. Finally, the person she had waited for left the locker room.
Brett studied the junior blonde as she looked up at the tall redhead. "What's up, Brett?" Alexis Moura asked.
"Do you have time?" Brett asked.
"Yes, I do. What's up?" Alexis replied.
"Not here; let's walk," Brett said.
"Sure, can we head to my car?" Alexis asked.
"Okay," Brett said.
The two women walked towards the front of the building. Brett looked at Alexis. She sighed, "So, any gossip in the cheer squad?" Brett asked.
Alexis shrugged, "Not that I heard; that's more a Shannon thing," she said.
They left the hallway and started across the commons. Brett nodded, "I'm surprised rumors are like a bad movie, keep showing up," she said.
"Only if you're listening," Alexis said.
"Good point, but you usually are up on it all," Brett said.
"Been busy, especially since you hooked me up with Shep," Alexis said.
"Brett smiled, "Yeah," she said.
"Brett, what is bothering you?" Alexis asked.
"Just some stuff I'm going through," Brett said.
"I'm sorry, Brett. Do you want to talk about it?" Alexis asked.
"That's what we're doing right now," Brett said, pushing the door open. They stepped outside into the bright lights of the afternoon sun.
"So, what is eating at you?" Alexis asked curiously.
"Have you heard anything about Garvan?" Brett asked.
Alexis shook her head. "No, not that I recall," she said.
"Well, I saw Garvan kissing Felicia Watt in the hallway the other day," Brett said.
"Oh, Brett, I'm so sorry," Alexis said.
"Thank you, the big question is, did you know?" Brett asked.
"No, I didn't," Alexis said, "Garvan never talked to me."
"You never saw anything in the hallways?" Brett asked.
Alexis shook her head, "No, I haven't; the most I've seen of Garvan is when we hang out or during games," she said.
"And the games are over," Brett said.
"Yeah, but I didn't know what Garvan was doing," Alexis said.
"Are you sure?" Brett asked.
"Positive," Alexis said.
"Yeah, well, thanks," Brett said.
"You're welcome," Alexis said.
Brett nodded, "Yeah, thanks for understanding," she said.
"Oh dear," Alexis said.
"Yes? What's up?" Brett asked.
"If you and Garvan are having trouble, then that affects Forrest, and if Forrest is affected, then Nessa," Alexis said.
"Yeah," Brett said.
"Oh god! That will break the group, and you need Nessa as a tutor," Alexis said.
"Yes, I've thought this out," Brett said.
Alexis nodded as they came to her car. Brett stood and watched as Alexis opened her car and put her bags in the back seat. Brett looked over Alexis's car, a simple reddish-toned Chevrolet Volt. Once Alexis finished with her bags, she stood straight and looked across the car at Brett.
"Brett, if Garvan is doing something like what you suspect, it's all on him," Alexis said.
"Two people are in a relationship," Brett said.
"So, what are you thinking?" Alexis asked.
"I have a few more people to talk to," Brett said.
"No, not that," Alexis said.
"There were suggestions that I talk to my Aunt Bobbi," Brett said.
"Now that's getting somewhere," Alexis said.
Brett tilted her head, "What does that mean?" Brett asked.
"Well, if I were you, I would've already gone Miranda on his ass," Alexis said.
"Miranda? What does that mean?" Brett asked.
"I'd ask your Aunt Bobbi," Alexis said.
"Okay, I guess; why?" Brett replied.
"There are rumors that your Aunt Bobbi pulled off something legendary back in the day," Alexis said.
"Oh, I knew my dad did something legendary," Brett said.
"The Steve-O Stunt," Alexis said, smiling.
"That's what I heard," Brett said.
"He still talks bout it?" Alexis asked.
"No, but he's proud every time he hears it mentioned," Brett said.
Alexis nodded, "Well, Brett, things will work out for you," she said.
"I hope so," Brett said.
"Look on the bright side; you graduate soon and are out of here," Alexis said.
"Yeah, July," Brett said.
"You have something to look forward to," Alexis said.
"Yeah," Brett said.
"I have to go," Alexis said.
"Thanks for your time," Brett said.
"You're welcome, and I'll see you tomorrow," Alexis said.
"See you tomorrow," Brett said.
Alexis nodded, got into her car, and was off. Brett watched the car drive off. With a nod, she headed to her car to go to work.
