Chapter 617: Beaulieu Manor

Thursday, March 9th, Evening

After dinner, they would pick a bedroom and hang out. So, they found themselves on the bed with their smartphones out. The blonde would look up at the room; the room's color was pretty much the same as any bedroom in the East Range. Yet the room's occupant had decided to decorate the walls with Alien Conspiracy Posters and even a few Cyberpunk Posters.

Sawyer rolled onto her back and stared up at the ceiling. She had changed into a thin-strapped tank top and yoga pants. She turned her head to look at Keni, sitting back against the headboard. Keni was dressed in yoga pants and an Area 51 t-shirt.

"What are you doing?" Keni asked.

"Seeing what is on Insta," Sawyer said.

'Anything good?" Keni asked.

"No, not at all," Sawyer said.

"Two days," Keni said.

"Yeah, till we're done cheerleading for the year," Keni said.

"Oh yeah," Sawyer said, "I'm going to miss it."

"I'm not," Keni said.

"What will you do when we don't have cheerleading?" Sawyer asked.

"Pout and brood," Keni said.

"Uh-huh!" Sawyer said.

"Yeah, if they win, there will be a party," Keni said.

"Hoping on it," Sawyer said, "Planning on it."

Keni closed her eyes and leaned back. Sawyer turned back to her smartphone. That was when a notification popped up that said Keir H. Sawyer rubbed her nose, then opened it up.

Kier H: What are you doing?

Sawyer S: Laying on the bed.

Kier H: Are you alone?

Sawyer S: Keni is here.

Keir H: Can you chat?

Sawyer S: Yes.

Sawyer looked up to see Keni was faced down on her smartphone. Sawyer rolled so Keni couldn't see her screen.

Kier H: I can't wait for Saturday.

Sawyer S: Why?

Kier H: The game, I think we're going to win.

Sawyer S: Yeah, they have a good shot at it.

Kier H: You're not excited?

Sawyer S: I am.

Kier H: Don't sound it.

Sayer S: We're typing, no sound.

Kier H: Right,

Sawyer S: So, what's up, Kier?

Kier H: I wanted to chat and say you looked good at practice today.

Sawyer S: Thanks, it was just basic game stuff.

Kier H: But you stand out among them.

Sawyer S: Thanks. Are you trying to flatter me?

Kier H: Yes, no.

Sawyer S: Lol, you are.

Kier H: Is it working?

Sawyer S: Maybe.

Kier H: Maybe, it is a good thing.

Sawyer S: Maybe.

Kier H: Maybe means yes.

Sawyer S: Maybe means maybe.

Kier H: See you at school tomorrow.

Sawyer S: If I don't see you first.

"Sawyer," Keni said.

'Yeah?" Sawyer asked, looking up from her smartphone.

Keni held out her phone. "There is someone with proof that Majestic 12 is not only still running but has placed the last six presidents in power," Keni said.

Sawyer rolled on her side, "Yeah? How?" she asked.

"Project MK-Ultra," Keni said.

"Isn't that the project that they drugged people?" Sawyer asked.

"Yeah," Keni said.

"Why would they do that?" Sawyer asked.

"It's all about control," Keni said.

Sawyer nodded, "Please don't go on your Subdivisions rants," she said.

"It's true that they slowly poisoned Neil Peart; they just got his daughter and wife by accident," Keni said.

"Why would they kill Neil Peart?" Sawyer asked.

"He wrote the truth, Sawyer," Keni said.

"Okay," Sawyer said and rolled on her back.

"Thinking about Gar?" Keni asked.

"Not as much as I had been, but I miss him," Sawyer said.

"I do, too," Keni said.

"He talked to me yesterday," Sawyer said.

"What did he say?" Keni asked.

"Gave me some cryptic warning," Sawyer said.

"Okay," Keni said.

"What did I do to Gar?" Sawyer said.

"You didn't return his feelings," Keni said.

"What feelings?" Sawyer asked.

"Gar has a crush on you," Keni said.

Sawyer sighed, "Why do people want me to choose? I don't know, and I'm fifteen," she said.

"Your parents, aunt, uncle, cousin, and my mom all married young," Keni said.

"Doesn't mean I have to," Sawyer said, "Keni, why is everything about hooking up?"

"I don't know; that's life, I guess," Keni said.

"Well, it sucks," Sawyer said.

"That it does," Keni said and nodded; the two lifelong friends laughed.
