Good morning, everyone, and welcome back to Pokemon Kids! Before we begin today's chapter, I would like to thank tmp1114 and kirito3229sao for favoriting this story and joining little Ash and company on his adventures! Anyways, today's chapter is going to be a fun one, so let's get going!
Narrator: Today, Ash, Pikachu, Daisy, and the rest of the gang continued their journey. They are glad that they got to work on solid rock to build a beach house and stand firm. Along the way, they are about to get their groove on.
Ash: Say, Dawn, are you really good at dancing to the music?
Dawn: Oh, you bet!
Then they listen to the sound.
Dawn: Listen, I can hear music from that festival.
Piplup: I can hear it too. I guess they're holding a big party.
Iris: Wonder what the occasion is?
Brock checked his guidebook to find out.
Brock: It's the Shlomlite Pokémon Festival. Once a year, the people play praise music, play games for prizes, delicious treats, and to end the party, they have a big dance show.
Cilan: Sound delectable.
Pansage: And amazing!
Dawn thought about her dance moves and figured she could do that at the festival.
Dawn: I'd sure like to try my dance moves at the festival.
Piplup: I'm sure you will, Dawn. Right, April?
Dawn: Yeah, what do you think, April?
April: I think you'll do smashingly.
Dawn: (smiles) Does that mean we can go?
April: Yes, let's go.
Dawn: (jumps for joy) Alright!
So the whole gang hurried to the festival as fast as their legs would carry them. When they finally made it to the festival, there was a flurry of preparations going on. Dawn then saw a young lady with flowing black hair, a purple praise dress, and a purple bow tied into a ponytail practicing for tonight's show. So she went over to say hello.
Dawn: Um, hello.
Young Lady: Hmm? Oh! Hello there, little girl. I didn't recognize you for a second.
Dawn: (confused) Recognize me?
Young Lady: Yes, are you here for the festival?
Dawn: Yes, ma'am.
Young Lady: Please, call me Miriam. I'm the lead dancer for the Shlomlite Dance Troupe.
Dawn: Oh, nice to meet ya. I'm Dawn. And this is Piplup.
Piplup: Hiya.
Miriam: Ah! Did that Piplup of yours just speak?
Piplup: Huh. (to Dawn) You'd think she'd never seen a talking Pokémon before.
Dawn: No, I'm afraid not. (to Miriam) Have you ever heard of Jesus Christ before, Miriam?
Miriam: Yes, I've heard of Him, I decided to follow Jesus since I was your age.
Dawn: Well, what would you say if I told you that Piplup can talk because he was blessed by Jesus Himself?
Miriam: I say, He really did that? Wow…
Piplup: It's not just me, my friends are also blessed by the Lord.
Miriam: (amazed) My goodness…
Dawn: Come and see my friends, my babysitter, and her friends. I'll introduce you if you'd like.
Miriam: Oh, that would be fantastic!
Dawn and Piplup then led Miriam to the others.
Dawn: Miriam, meet my babysitter, April. She's also my dance teacher.
April: Hello, Ms. Miriam.
Miriam: Hi there, April.
Brock: Miriam… Wow. What a lovely name!
Misty: Oh boy, here we go.
May: He's at it again.
Brock: (holds Miriam's hands) Are you here for the Shlomlite Pokémon Festival, too, my lovely?
Miriam: Uh… Yeah?
Brock: I knew it! Maybe you could dance to my w… Yeow!
Before Brock got any further, Daisy had grabbed him by the ear and pulled him away from Miriam.
Daisy: Back it up, Romeo.
Brock: (in pain) Not the ear! Not the ear!
Ash: Sorry about my friend there, Miriam. He does that every time he sees a girl.
Pikachu: Pretty girls, you mean.
Ash: Right, buddy. (chuckles)
Miriam: (giggles)
Ash: I'm Ash, by the way.
Pikachu: And I'm Pikachu.
Daisy: And I'm his babysitter, Daisy Oak.
Miriam: Nice to meet you.
Ash: I can't wait to have fun at the festival!
Miriam: Well, how bout if I lead you all inside?
Pikachu: Okay.
Dawn: Thanks, Miriam.
So Miriam led the kids, their babysitters, and Pokémon inside.
April: (to Miriam) So would it be alright if Dawn did her own dance routine here at the festival?
Miriam: Say, that's a wonderful idea! What do you say, Dawn?
Dawn: Oh I'd love it!
Miriam: Great! May I see you dance?
Dawn: Sure thing. Let's show her what we can do, Piplup.
Piplup: Right behind ya.
And with that, Dawn and Piplup begin to dance. They twirled, spun, jumped, leaped, and bent.
Miriam: (impressed) Wow, great dancing, Dawn. You too, Piplup!
Dawn and Piplup: Thanks.
Miriam: I think both of you are going to be great dancers someday.
Dawn: Thanks, Miriam.
Miriam: Well, I'd better get back to practicing for tonight. I am the lead dancer of the Shlomlite Dance Troupe, after all.
April: Okay, Miriam, see you later.
Brock: Break a leg, Miriam!
Miriam: Thanks. By the way, why don't you have a look around the festival to wait until it starts?
May: Sounds like a plan to me.
Torchic: Let's go!
Iris: Alright!
So the gang went to look around the festive preparations until the party starts. Ash saw a group of Pokémon holding flags while waving them around.
Ash: Say, that looks like fun, huh, Pikachu?
Pikachu: It sure is!
Misty saw a large tank containing Water-Type Pokémon doing stunt-swimming.
Misty: Wow! Look at that, Horsea.
Horsea: That looks amazing!
Brock and Tracey saw two stands that contain cooking meat and face painting. They were excited.
Brock: Wow!
Tracey: Cool!
Vulpix: (sniffs) That meat smells good.
Marill: Tracey, look at that Smeargle and its trainer. Let's see if we can help them.
Tracey: Good idea, Marill.
Tracey and Marill went over to the stand to help the two face painters. Meanwhile, May and Max went to see the concession stand with different flavors of cotton candy.
May: Ooh… Look at that cotton candy, Max. That looks yummy, doesn't it, Torchic?
Torchic: I'll say it does.
Max: Mm-hmm.
Iris saw a group of people carrying boxes filled with sparklers for the kids.
Axew: What're they doing with that stuff?
Iris: I guess they're getting the sparklers ready for everyone to wave around.
Axew: Sounds like fun.
Cilan saw a stand containing a ring toss game.
Cilan: (smiles) Ah, ring toss.
Pansage: Thinkin' you might try your hand at it, Cilan?
Cilan: I haven't played that for a long time. But I'll give it a shot.
Meanwhile, Dawn is still practicing her dance routine for the show when she hears a Pokémon's voice calling.
Pokémon: Bun! Bun!
Dawn: Huh. Sounds like a Pokémon's nearby.
Piplup: You know, you could be right.
Dawn: Should we check it out?
Piplup: Yes, let's.
So they followed the sounds of the Pokémon's voice.
Dawn: (surprised gasp) Piplup, look.
Piplup: (gasps) I don't believe it!
What Dawn and Piplup saw is a Rabbit Pokémon called Buneary dancing while hopping.
Buneary: Bun! Bun! Bun!
Piplup: It's a Buneary and it can dance.
Dawn: Oh, wow! It's so cute.
They continued to watch Buneary dance while she was hopping. Dawn thought of being friends with that Pokémon. So she walked up to the Rabbit Pokémon.
Dawn: Hi, Buneary. My name's Dawn, and this is Piplup.
Piplup: (walks up) Hiya.
Buneary: Bun!
Dawn: We saw you dancing and it's great! I hope you can dance with us and be friends.
Buneary thought about it and nodded.
Buneary: (nods) Bun-Bun.
Dawn: (squeals) Great! Let's continue practicing. C'mon.
Piplup: Right behind ya, Dawn.
So Piplup and Buneary followed the little girl back to the spot where they were practicing.
Meanwhile, Miriam was leading the other dancers to practice.
Miriam: Ready, everyone?
Dancers: Ready!
Miriam: Twirl! Skip! Jump!
The other dancers did what Miriam did.
Miriam: Excellent!
Miriam smiled as it seemed that the dance practice was going well with no problems. Well, that is until…
Dancer: Sorry I'm late, Miriam.
Miriam looked to see the dancer who was late with a cast on her left foot.
Miriam: Oh my! What happened?
Dancer: I was practicing for so long, I forgot the time and ran all the way when I twisted my ankle. I hope you understand.
Miriam: I understand, but where can I find another dancer to take your place? Unless…
The dancers wondered what Miriam was thinking about.
Miriam: Dawn! Of course!
The dancers looked a bit confused. Meanwhile, Dawn, Piplup, and Buneary were still practicing.
Dawn: (smiles) We are doing so well, guys! (chuckles)
Piplup: We sure do, Dawn.
Buneary: (smiles) Buneary!
Just then, Dawn heard Miriam's voice shouting her name.
Miriam: Dawn!
Dawn: Miriam, what's wrong? You seem worried about something.
Miriam: Well, there's a reason for it.
Piplup: What do you mean?
Miriam: I need your help. One of our dancers has twisted her ankle.
Dawn: Oh no, that's terrible.
Miriam: That's why I need your help, Dawn. Will you come practice with me? Please?
Dawn: Hmm… (to Piplup and Buneary) What do you guys think?
Piplup: Well, we can't let the show be canceled.
Buneary: (nods) Bun. Buneary.
Piplup: She says she wants to help, too.
Dawn: Don't worry, Miriam. We'll all help!
Miriam: (smiles) Lovely, follow me!
Dawn, Piplup, and Buneary followed after Miriam. On the way back to the stage, they ran into April who was admiring the decorations.
Dawn: Hey, April!
April: Hey, Dawn. Why are you with Miriam?
Dawn: No time to explain! Gotta go!
April: (confused) Why is Dawn in such a hurry?
April pondered this for some time.
Back at the stage, the dancers were wondering about Miriam having to get Dawn in the first place. Soon, she returned with the young girl and her two Pokémon friends.
Miriam: I'm back and I brought new dancers with me.
Dawn: Hi!
Piplup: Hiya!
Buneary: Bun!
Miriam: I brought them with me to practice so that the show wouldn't be canceled.
Dawn: (to the dancers) My friends and I'll do our best to not let you down.
The other dancers huddled up and whispered to each other and when they broke up, they agreed on letting her join.
Dawn: Thanks, everybody. Come on, you two.
Buneary: Buneary!
Piplup: Let's do this!
Miriam then leads Dawn and her Pokémon onstage. They continued practicing until it was time for the show. That night, the festival had just begun! Ash and Pikachu were joining the other Pokémon with flags. Misty and Horsea are watching the water stunt show that Water Pokémon are performing. Brock and Vulpix are helping a chef with some meat. Tracey and Marill are helping the trainer and his Smeargle with the face painting. May, Max, and Torchic are enjoying some cotton candy. Iris and Axew are playing with the sparklers while waving. And Cilan and Pansage are having a great time with ring toss.
When it was time for the dance show to start, Dawn was feeling nervous about doing a good job on stage. Miriam saw this and walked over to her.
Miriam: Are you nervous for the first time on stage, Dawn?
Dawn: Uh-huh. What if I mess up?
Miriam: (smiles) Don't worry, Dawn. Come with us, we are going to pray before we go.
Dawn: Uh… Okay.
Dawn and her Pokémon friends followed after Miriam.
Miriam: Alright, everyone, let's start praying and get out there. Ready, Dawn?
Dawn nodded. And with that, they began praying.
Miriam: Jesus, tonight we thank you for helping us practice for the dance show. Also, thank you for bringing this little girl and her Pokémon friends to replace one of us. Please help us please the crowd and make them happy. In your Name, we pray, amen.
Dancers: Amen.
Miriam: Are you feeling better now, Dawn?
Dawn: Maybe a little.
Miriam: Don't worry, Dawn. Jesus will be dancing with you the whole way.
Piplup: And you'll have me by your side.
Buneary: Bun-Bun.
Piplup: Oh, and Buneary too, of course.
Dawn: (smiles) Thanks, Piplup. I'm glad I chose you as my first Pokémon and Buneary, I'm glad we met.
Piplup: Aw, shucks.
Buneary: (blushes) Bun.
Suddenly, Piplup's flipper touched Buneary's fur, causing a glow.
Buneary: Whoa… Huh? What happened? (gasps) Hey, is this my voice?
Dawn: (shocked) Did you just talk, Buneary?
Buneary: I-I think I did. (gasps) It must've been when Piplup's flipper touched me.
Piplup: I did? (gasps) I did. Wait… This means Pikachu's not the only Pokémon who can share his miracle with others. Me and the others can share our miracle, too! That's awesome!
Miriam: (chuckles) Come on now, it's time to dance.
Dawn: Oh, right. So, what do you guys say? Shall we go?
Piplup: Let's wow 'em!
Buneary: Absolutely!
And with that, the entire group of dancers, including Dawn and her Pokémon pals went to the stage to welcome the crowd.
Miriam: Hello, everyone, I hope you enjoyed the festival so far. Tonight, we have a special guest joining us on stage. Her name is Dawn and she's here to take one of the dancers' place. She was a little nervous at first but with God's help, I'm sure she'll be just fine with her Pokémon friends, Piplup and Buneary. And now, we hope you'll enjoy the show.
Among the crowd were the other kids with their respective babysitters and Pokémon.
Pikachu: Did I hear right? Did she say, "Dawn"?
Ash: I heard it, too.
April: (realizes) So that's why Dawn was in such a hurry. She was trying to save the show.
May: Maybe we should pray for her? Hoping she does a good job?
Misty: It would be a nice thing to do for her.
Iris: Good idea, girls.
The boys, the other babysitters, and Pokémon agreed. They started praying without making a sound with their mouths. That is why they are praying from their hearts. After their quiet prayer, they watched Dawn perform her dance act.
Dawn: (to herself) This is for you, Mommy.
And with the power of the Holy Spirit inside her, Dawn begins to dance! Piplup and Buneary soon followed along with her.
Dawn: (gasps) I'm doing it! I'm doing it!
Miriam: Well done, Dawn.
The Dancers, Dawn, and her Pokémon continued their routine. When it was time for the big finish, Dawn did her spin and landed on both of her feet. Everyone cheered for the dancers for their dance show.
Miriam: We hope you enjoyed the show. Let's give a big hand to the star of the show, Dawn! (claps)
Everyone in the audience clapped and cheered. Dawn began to blush and took a bow while smiling. Her Pokémon friends bowed down as well.
Miriam: (puts her hand on Dawn's shoulder and hugs her) I'm proud of you, Dawn.
Dawn: Really?
Miriam: Really.
Piplup: I'm proud of you too, Dawn.
Dawn: Really, Piplup? Think Mommy would've liked it?
Piplup: I'm sure she'll like it. I'll tell you what. How about at the nearest Pokémon Center we call your mom tomorrow?
Buneary: And you have a new friend?
Dawn: (pause) Buneary? Would you like to come along with us?
Buneary: With you? I'd love to! (hops around)
Dawn smiled as her friends came up on stage to congratulate her.
Ash: Dawn, that was amazing!
Daisy: I also got it on video.
Dawn: (gasps, excitedly) You did?!
Daisy: I did. We'll show it to your mom in the morning if you'd like to.
Dawn: Like to? I'd love to! And everyone, I'd like you to meet my new friend, Buneary.
Buneary: (smiles) Hi, everyone.
Piplup: Pikachu, you're right about sharing the miracle with other Pokémon. I shared it with her, too.
Pikachu: So you did. That's great, Piplup!
Ash: Nice to meet ya, Buneary.
Misty: Yeah. Welcome to the family, Buneary.
Buneary: Thanks, everybody.
April: Come on, kids. Let's get to the Pokémon Center to have dinner and get to bed.
Everyone nodded in agreement. They had a grand time at the festival and felt very tired. When they got to the Pokémon Center, they had their dinner and got their pajamas on. Before they could brush their teeth, Jesus appeared right in front of them.
Jesus: Hello, children.
Dawn: (smiles) Jesus, it's you!
Buneary: (in awe) Wow…
Jesus: (chuckles) Yes, Dawn, and I am here to tell you how proud I am for you for turning something bad into something good.
Dawn: (confused) You are?
Jesus: I am. And I have a scripture for you to learn.
Dawn: Okay, what's the Bible verse?
Jesus: In the Book of Romans, it says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
April: It's Romans 8:28, right, Jesus?
Jesus: That's right, April. It means how a bad thing can be a good thing. And Dawn, you helped save the show by taking someone else's place.
Dawn: Wow… I guess I did, didn't I?
Piplup: Totally, Dawn.
Buneary: Say, Jesus? Were you with Dawn the whole time?
Jesus smiled at the Rabbit Pokémon.
Jesus: (nods) That is correct, Buneary. You prayed for her to do a good job on the show.
Buneary: Wow…
Miriam: I can't believe I'm seeing the Son of God, Himself!
Jesus: Miriam, I am glad you taught Dawn how to do the Shlomlite Dance Troupe.
Miriam: R-Really?
Jesus: (nods) Really. You are a wonderful teacher.
Miriam: (blushes) Why thank you.
Piplup: Um, Jesus?
Jesus: Yes, Piplup?
Piplup: When you blessed Pikachu with his miracle, did you mean for him to be the only one to be able to do it? Cause when I touched Buneary, my miracle was passed onto her as well.
Jesus: (chuckles) Well, you are not the only one who can do miracles. You and the other Pokémon can do miracles as well.
Buneary: We can?
Jesus: That's right. When you pass your miracles to others, more people will know about My story and be saved from their sins.
Piplup: Huh. I never thought of it that way before.
Then Jesus heard a small yawn coming from Dawn. He knew it was her bedtime, including the others.
Jesus: It looks like you kids are getting sleepy, huh?
Dawn: Yeah. Plus, that dancing kinda tired me out.
Piplup: Me too. We should get some sleep. Coming, Buneary?
Buneary: Yup, I'm getting kinda sleepy.
Jesus: Well, have a goodnight's sleep, children and God bless you.
With that, Jesus waved goodbye and disappeared.
Buneary: Is he gonna appear like that a lot?
Pikachu: Yup, He's the Son of God. He's also a great teacher for us.
Marill: Yeah, it's true.
Buneary: Wow, He can always make things better. Doesn't He?
Dawn: (yawns, smiles) He sure does.
Piplup: Come on, everyone, let's catch some Zs.
April: (chuckles) Good idea.
And then, the whole gang went straight to bed. It was going to be a big day tomorrow for Dawn's mother. The next morning…
Dawn: Hi, Mom!
Johanna: Good morning, sweetie. How are you doing?
Dawn: I'm doing great. How 'bout you?
Johanna: I feel fine!
Dawn: That's wonderful, and Mom, guess what I just did.
Johanna: (interested) Oh?
Dawn: I danced in the Shlomlite Dance Show at the festival.
Johanna: (gasps) You did?
April: It's true, ma'am. I even recorded the whole thing. Take a look! (shows the video)
Johanna watched the video April took.
Johanna: Aww… That's beautiful, honey! I'm proud of you.
Dawn: (tears up) Oh thank you, Mom.
Piplup: Boy, Dawn, you sure do have a terrific mom.
Johanna: (gasps) P-Pip-plup, you talked!
Dawn realized that her mother didn't know about Piplup's miracle.
Dawn: The reason Piplup is talking is that Pikachu passed a miracle Jesus gave him.
Johanna: Pikachu? Jesus?
Pikachu: That's right, Ms. Johanna. Jesus is the One who gave me a blessing.
Buneary: Hello, Ms. Johanna, I'm Dawn's new friend, Buneary.
Johanna: My goodness. So the Son of God actually gave your Pokémon such a wonderful gift, Dawn?
Dawn: (smiles) That's right, Mommy. And we've decided to pray to Him as much as we can.
Johanna: Why that's wonderful, baby. I'm so proud of you.
Dawn: Thanks, Mommy. I've decided to keep Buneary as a new friend as well.
Buneary: That's right, Ms. Johanna. Dawn's such a nice girl.
Johanna: Honey, I'm glad you were in the show last night.
Dawn: Really?
Johanna: Really.
Dawn: (giggles) Well, I've done this dance for you.
Johanna: You did?
Dawn: I did. I saved the show by taking one of the dancers' place for it.
Johanna: (chuckles) Well, I'm impressed. Well, you take care now. Bye-bye, baby.
Dawn: Bye, Mommy. I love you. (blows a kiss)
Johanna: I love you, too, honey. (blows a kiss)
As Dawn hung up the video phone, she turned to Buneary while hugging her.
Dawn: So Buneary, are you ready to go with us?
Buneary: As ready as I'll ever be, Dawn.
April: (holds up a Poké Ball) Here's a spare Poké Ball to keep her in.
Dawn: Thanks, April. (to Buneary) Ready, Buneary?
Buneary: (smiles) Ready!
Dawn: Okay, go Poké Ball! (throws the Poké Ball towards Buneary)
Buneary was soon sucked into the Poké Ball. Then it vibrates until the light is turned off.
April: Well, Dawn, looks like you've got a new friend.
Dawn: I sure do. (to Buneary's Poké Ball) Come out, Buneary!
Buneary: (emerges) Yay!
Daisy: Okay, kids, let's get going.
Miriam: Dawn, wait! Before you go, I have something for you.
Dawn: Something for me?
Miriam: (pulls out a dance dress just the right size for Dawn) Ta-da! It's a Shlomlite Dance dress for you to dance.
Dawn: (gasps) This is for me?
Miriam: (giggles) That's right, young lady. Here you are. (puts it inside Dawn's backpack)
Dawn: Wow! Thanks, Miriam.
Miriam: You're welcome, Dawn. You have a safe trip now!
Piplup: We will!
Buneary: Bye!
Everyone else said goodbye to Miriam.
Miriam: (smiles) Gee, I love the way Dawn dances for the Lord.
Narrator: It looks like Dawn has wowed the audience by dancing her heart away. And she has a new member to add to her family, the Rabbit Pokémon Buneary. Now, our little heroes have hit the road once again. As the journey continues.
To Be Continued…
