Hello everyone, and welcome back to Pokemon Kids! I sure hope you have been enjoying learning about God with Ash, Pikachu, and all of their friends, as Noah and I appreciate every little view, review, and favorite this story gets. Anyways, let's get going with another chapter!
Narrator: Once again, our little heroes are taking their journey to a whole new level. Dawn joyfully smiled because she saved the dance show at the Shlomlite Pokémon Festival. Soon, they are about to encounter someone needing their help.
Daisy: Hey kids, I think I see someone. It looks like he's hurt!
Ash: (squints his eyes) You're right, Daisy!
Pikachu: He doesn't look so good.
Brock: Let's find out what's wrong with him.
So the kids, their Pokémon, and their babysitters went over to see the hurt man lying on the ground.
Brock: Excuse me, sir. Are you okay?
Man: (groans while coughing) Do I look like (cough) okay?
Misty: What happened to you?
Man: A couple of robbers just robbed my money, tore my clothes, and beat me and my Pokémon. (groans)
Dawn: Oh no.
May: That's terrible.
Misty: There must be a hospital nearby.
Brock: Actually, it's a hospital and an inn at the same time.
Marina: Where'd you hear that?
Brock: From this page right here. (shows the guidebook) It's called the Good Samaritan's Hospitality Inn and it's for people and Pokémon.
Daisy: Then let's get this man there right away.
Ash: Don't forget his Pokémon too.
Pikachu: Well, what're we waiting for?
Torchic: Let's get this man to the inn and fast!
Brock and Tracey helped the man to his feet.
Dennis: I got some olive oil and wine in my first aid kit. (brings out his medical supplies) Maybe it'll feel better once I put them on your wounds.
Cilan: How far is the inn?
Brock: Just about two miles away.
Tracey: I think he needs a Pokémon that he can ride on until we get there.
Man: (grunts) That'd be a good idea.
Brock: I've got just the Pokémon! (takes out Onix's Poké Ball) Onix, I choose you!
The Rock Snake Pokémon emerged from his Poké Ball.
Onix: What's up, Brock?
Brock: Onix, this man's been injured. We need you to let him ride you, at least until we can get him to an inn nearby.
Onix: (looks at the injured man) You got it!
Onix then lowered himself so that Brock and Tracey could help the man on.
Tracey: Here you go, sir.
Brock: Just hold on tight.
Man: Okay…
Daisy: Okay everyone, let's get going.
And so, the whole gang went to the Good Samaritan's Hospitality Inn to help this poor man and his Pokémon. After quite some time, they saw the inn.
May: That must be it.
Max: Yea.
Onix then lowered himself again so Brock and Tracey could help the man off.
Brock: Off you go.
Man: (grunts) Thank you.
Axew: Let's get you inside and settle you in.
Iris: He's right.
Brock: Thanks, Onix.
Onix: No problem. I'll be ready next time you need me.
Brock: Right. (returns Onix)
Jasper: Let's do this. Come on.
They went inside the inn.
Ash: Hello? Anyone here?
Pikachu: We found this man lying on the road injured and we were wondering if you have a room for him.
Just then, Nurse Joy appeared with a man and girl who is about the same age as Brock at the receptionist's desk.
Nurse Joy: Hello. Welcome to our Inn.
Girl: We're so glad you're here. So, what brings you here?
Misty: We brought this man to give him a room.
Marina: Can you help him?
Nurse Joy: Of course, we will. My husband will show you the way.
Brock: H-H-Husband? (sees a ring on one of Nurse Joy's fingers, dejected) Game over.
A man with dark purple hair with a doctor's outfit and a pair of gray pants led the group to a room.
Girl: (notices Brock) What's the matter with him?
Pikachu: Don't ask, kid.
Girl: What in the world?!
Pikachu: What, ya never saw a talking Pokémon before?
Girl: No, I guess not.
Pikachu: Well kid, I'm not the only one who can do that.
Marill: He's right about that.
Pikachu: Jesus blessed me by doing a miracle. That's why He made me talk. And I passed my blessing to the other Pokémon.
Girl: Wow, that's amazing!
May: So are you one of Nurse Joy's children?
Girl: Yes, I am. My name is Tabitha and I'm the oldest in the family. I have twin siblings named Tyler and Natalie.
Brock: Well, it's certainly nice to meet you, Tabitha. My name's Brock, and I'm working to be a Pokémon Breeder.
Tabitha: It's very nice to meet you too, Brock. And I say you look kind of cute.
Brock: Well, so do you, babe.
Tabitha: (giggles) Oh Brock. (blushes) Wait, did you say you're wanting to be a Pokémon Breeder?
Brock: Yes, I am.
Tabitha: Well, that's perfect. You know, we might be a great pair of Breeders after all.
Brock: Y-You think so?
Tabitha: I know so.
Misty: Well, this just got very interesting.
Horsea: That's for sure.
Tabitha: Anyway, this is my dad, Ivan.
Ivan: Nice to meet you, kids.
Ash: Hi sir.
Pikachu: It's our pleasure to meet you.
Ivan: You kids did well in bringing that man here.
Tracey: We sure did. Otherwise, he would've been done for.
Ivan: Well, here's the room for the man.
Ivan led the way to the room the man was being held in.
Brock: Come on, sir, you need some treatment for you and your Pokémon.
Man: Alright, young man. (coughs)
The man passed his Poké Balls to Ivan.
Ivan: Thank you, Mr. uh…
Man: Oliver. My name is Oliver.
Ivan: Thank you, Oliver. And don't worry, we'll have your Pokémon healed up in no time. Anyhow, why don't you kids help Oliver with his conditions?
Iris: Us? Help you?
Brock: I'd like to help!
Misty: It would be an honor, sir.
May: Yes, please.
Iris: Count me in!
Cilan: At your service.
Tracey: I'll be happy to help.
Ash: You can count on us!
Pikachu: We Pokémon can help out too.
Piplup: Yes we can!
Pansage: We'll make Oliver well again.
Torchic: You said it, Pansage!
Vulpix: And his Pokémon, too.
Ivan: Great! Thanks, I'll leave it to you.
Brock: Don't worry, Ivan, we'll take care of Ivan real well. Where are the medical supplies?
Tabitha: Follow me, and I'll show you.
Pikachu: Right behind ya.
So, Tabitha led the kids to where the medical supplies are kept.
Tabitha: (opens the door) Here they are.
Tracey: So I guess we should get to work?
Brock: Absolutely.
Tabitha: (chuckles) Go ahead, you guys, and help Mr. Oliver.
Brock: Let's do it!
So the group got the medical supplies and went back to Oliver to make him better.
Brock: We're back, Oliver, I hope you're ready for your treatment.
Oliver: I am. (smiles slowly)
Dawn: Good. Let's deal with those wounds. Dennis?
Dennis: I'm on it.
Oliver: Thank you for helping me, kids.
Ash: You're welcome, Oliver. By the way, how did you get hurt in the first place?
Oliver: Well, I was walking from Torah City to Moonbeam City when two robbers attacked me and my Pokémon. They stole my money and stripped my clothes and ran away and there I was, just me and my Pokémon lying helplessly on the grass. We waited for some of our friends to come to help us. First, a gardener came by and saw me hurt on the ground, but he just continued on his way. Then a banker saw me lying on the floor too. But he didn't help me either. Luckily, you kids, your babysitters, and your Pokémon came to help me.
Iris: That's not right, them leaving you alone like that.
Brock: Yeah, I mean, just continue walking while passing you, come on. They didn't even feel sorry for you.
Dawn: But we did.
Piplup: We're just glad that we can help you, Oliver.
Oliver: (chuckles) You sure did.
Pikachu: I'd sure like to get my hands on those thieves for putting you in this state.
Ash: They deserved to be punished.
Misty: I sure hope Officer Jenny catches them.
Brock: Think you can describe what they looked like, Oliver?
Oliver: Well, there was a man with periwinkle hair and a woman with magenta hair with pigtails and they had a talking Meowth.
Pikachu: Team Rocket!
Ash: Great, those stupid stooges again.
Misty: And that old lady, too.
Oliver: Team Rocket? Who's that?
Daisy: They're crooks who like to steal other people's Pokémon.
Misty: One thing for sure, they can cause a lot of problems.
Brock: These three guys are nuts!
Max: Meanies! (blows a raspberry)
Dawn: We'll have to keep an eye out for those creeps.
Piplup: I'd like to give 'em a taste of my Bubble Beam!
Axew: With a side of Scary Face.
April chuckled at Piplup and Axew.
Brock: Anyway, how are you feeling, Oliver?
Oliver: I feel so much better. Thank you. But what about my Pokémon?
Ash: Don't worry, Oliver, Ivan's taking them to Nurse Joy now.
Pikachu: She'll have your Pokémon get better too.
Oliver: Great! (chuckles)
Tabitha, along with her siblings, Tyler and Natalie, meanwhile were doing what they could to help their mother.
Tyler: What's next, Mom?
Natalie: Yeah, what comes after that?
Nurse Joy: Well, we have to bandage them up. (looks to Tabitha) Tabitha?
Tabitha: Yeah, Mom?
Nurse Joy: Will you show them how?
Tabitha: You got it. (winks and gets the bandage roll) First, you unroll the bandage strip. (did so) Then, you wrap the bandage around the Pokémon. (did so) And that's how you bandage a Pokémon. Got it?
Tyler and Natalie: Got it, sis.
Tabitha: Alright, give it a try.
Tyler and Natalie did their best to follow Tabitha's instructions just as she had told them to do.
Tabitha: So, how did you do?
Tyler: Well, sis, I bandaged that Leavanny's antenna up real good.
Tabitha inspected Tyler's work.
Tabitha: Natalie, how about you?
Natalie: Did I do well? (shows Tabitha a Lycanroc in midday form with a bandaged front left leg)
Tabitha inspects Natalie's work.
Tabitha: (smiles) Nice job, you two.
Tyler and Natalie: (smiles) Thanks, sis!
Tabitha: You're welcome, guys.
Tyler: Hey, Tabitha, you think that guy with the squinty eyes likes you?
Tabitha: I think so.
Natalie: Think he's gonna ask you out?
Nurse Joy: Natalie, don't tease your sister.
Tabitha: No, mom, it's okay. (to Natalie) I don't know. (to Tyler) Do you think I'm perfect for Brock?
Tyler: Of course, you are, sis.
Tabitha blushed at this. Her mother took notice of this.
Nurse Joy: Are you alright, sweetie?
Tabitha: Hmm? Oh, uh, yeah. Uh, I'm fine, Mom. (giggles nervously) It's just I think I'm in love with Brock. But I'm not ready to tell him yet.
Nurse Joy: (smiles reassuringly) Just take your time, honey. You can tell him when you're ready. That's the way it was when I met your father.
Nurse Joy's Chansey nodded in agreement.
Tabitha: You're right, Mom. Thanks.
Natalie: You have my support, big sis.
Tyler: Mine, too.
Tabitha: Thank you, everyone. (hugs her siblings, then her mother)
Back at Oliver's room, the kids, their Pokémon, and their babysitters are just finishing helping Oliver.
Daisy: There. How's that?
Oliver: That's more like it. Thank you.
Ash: That's great.
Pikachu: Sure is.
Iris: Now, try to get some rest.
Oliver: (sighs with relief) I think I will.
Tracey: Come on, let's let him sleep. (opening the door)
Marill: Right behind ya, Trace.
Misty: We're coming.
Horsea: And going.
The rest of the kids, Pokémon and the babysitters went out quietly to let Oliver sleep and went to see Nurse Joy's family.
Nurse Joy: Ah, hello, kids. So how's the patient?
Iris: He's going to be okay, Nurse Joy.
Tyler: That's great!
Brock: It sure is, little buddy.
Nurse Joy: Oh, I almost forgot. Tomorrow, you'll have to pay Oliver's bill.
Marina: How much will it come to?
Nurse Joy: About two silver coins.
Misty: No kidding.
Tabitha: Sure, it's for real. Do any of you have two coins?
Brock: I do. (pulls out two silver coins from his left pocket) Here they are.
Tabitha: Wow. You're prepared, aren't you?
Brock: I sure am.
Brock then handed the coins to Nurse Joy.
Nurse Joy: Thank you, young man.
Brock: You're welcome. If you need to spend more money to help Oliver, just let me know. I'll pay you back.
Tyler: (to Natalie) He's crazy-prepared.
Natalie: I know, right?
Brock: (heard the compliment) Thank you, Tyler, Natalie.
Tyler and Natalie: You're welcome.
Nurse Joy: So what're you kids up to in our lovely region?
Ash: Well, me and Pikachu are gonna spread Jesus' Word to everyone here.
Nurse Joy: Are you now?
Pikachu: That's right, we're also gonna sing praises to Him. He's actually the reason I'm able to talk.
Tabitha: (amazed) Wow… (to Misty) What about you, Misty?
Misty: I wanna see as many Water-type Pokémon that can be seen here and baptize them with water.
Nurse Joy: My, that's quite a goal.
Brock: I'm learning what kind of cultures they have.
Tracey: I'm gonna draw some sketches of the new Pokémon here. Hopefully, when I get a chance to meet Professor Oak for myself, I can show him my sketches.
May: My baby brother, Max, my babysitter Jasper and I are gonna sing praise songs for everyone.
Dawn: My babysitter April and I are going to put on dance shows.
Piplup: With help from me and Buneary, of course.
Dawn: (giggles) Yes, of course, Piplup.
Iris: Me, Axew, and Dennis are going to help people when they get hurt.
Tyler: And you, Cilan?
Cilan: I'm learning to be a Pokémon Connoisseur. Right, Pansage?
Pansage: Right!
Ivan: (comes up) Sounds like a plan, young man.
Nurse Joy: Ivan.
Ivan: So how's our patient's Pokémon doing, dear?
Nurse Joy: They are doing fine, Sweetie.
Ivan: Excellent.
He chuckles as he and Nurse Joy share a quick kiss.
Daisy: Boy, what a day!
Marina: You said, D.
Jasper: (hears his stomach growl) Say, I'm getting kinda hungry.
Ash: Me too.
Pikachu: Me three.
Brock: Look at the time. (points at a grandfather clock) It's almost dinnertime.
Tabitha: Mom, Dad, could we treat them to dinner?
Nurse Joy: Of course, we can and we'll make sure that Oliver gets some too.
Ivan: Good idea, honey.
April: Thank you, Nurse Joy.
Daisy: Gee, I can't wait to start eating dinner.
Before long, everyone was having dinner that was supplied by Nurse Joy and her family.
Brock: What did you make for dinner, Nurse Joy?
Nurse Joy: Well, we're having Mac and Cheese tonight.
Ash: Macaroni and Cheese? Mmm-mm. That's one of my favorites!
Pikachu: Well, shall we pray before we eat?
Nurse Joy: Wait, there's more. We're also having tomato soup.
Ash: Tomato soup? That sounds delicious, let's pray.
Pikachu: Alright, let's do it. Everyone, hold hands now.
They each held hands.
Tabitha: Ready, everyone?
Tyler and Natalie: Ready.
The others nodded in agreement.
Nurse Joy: God, we thank you for bringing Oliver to our inn and these kids you sent are a big help to us. Please bless them and the food to our bodies. In your Name, we pray, Amen.
Others: Amen.
Daisy: Now, let's eat.
And so they did. After they had their dinner, Tabitha brought the tomato soup to Oliver's room.
Tabitha: Hi. Thought you might like something to eat.
Oliver: Ah, tomato soup. Thanks.
Tabitha: You're welcome, sir.
Oliver: How are my Pokémon doing?
Tabitha: They're doing just fine. Tomorrow, we have a busy day ahead of us. So, just eat your dinner and go to sleep.
Oliver: Thank you, young lady. (pause) Y'know, you may turn out to be a fine Nurse Joy one day.
Tabitha: (blushes) Why, thank you, Oliver.
Oliver then proceeded to have the soup Tabitha brought him.
Oliver: (in thought) Boy, that Tabitha girl sure is blessed.
Meanwhile… Ash and his pals are getting ready for bed.
Vulpix: So, Brock, you still thinking of that girl, Tabitha?
Brock: I sure am, Vulpix. I think she's the cutest.
Vulpix: What about the female babysitters you met?
Brock: Well, they do look pretty in all but I'm too young for them. So I think Tabitha is the perfect choice for me. I'm done with teenage girls.
Vulpix: Then let me ask you this - When we leave, will you ask her to come with us or will you stay here with her? Also, what if you see other pretty girls along the way? What then?
Brock: (sighs) I don't know, Vulpix. We'll just have to wait and see.
Vulpix: Well… Why don't you pray to God and ask Him to help you decide?
Brock: Good idea, Vulpix. Will you pray for me too?
Vulpix: I'll sure try.
So Brock and Vulpix started praying to God for help.
Brock: Lord, I'm praying tonight because I need your help. I can't decide if Tabitha wants to come with my friends and me or not. Will you please give me the courage to talk to her? In your Name, I pray, Amen.
Vulpix: Amen.
Ash and Pikachu couldn't help but overhear Brock and Vulpix's conversation.
Pikachu: Boy, Brock must really have the hots for Tabitha. Huh, Ash?
Ash: The hots?
Pikachu: Yeah, y'know, he'd like her to be his girlfriend and all?
Ash: (understands) Oh. Right. (yawns) Well, goodnight, Pikachu.
Pikachu: (yawns and stretches) 'Night.
And so, the Inn was closed for the night and everyone went straight to sleep, including Oliver. The next morning, Oliver was wide awake and feeling much better.
Oliver: (yawns and stretches) Ah… This is just what I needed last night, a goodnight's sleep. (smells something) Wonder what that smell is.
Oliver took his crutches and headed for the kitchen table. Meanwhile, the others were enjoying breakfast that Nurse Joy and her family had brought to them.
May: Wow, Nurse Joy, you and your husband's cooking is wonderful!
Nurse Joy: (chuckles) Well, thank you, my dear. It comes from years of practice.
Ivan: It's true. How're the eggs and bacon?
Jasper: Pretty good, sir.
Ivan: Thank you, Jasper.
Cilan: I agree. The food is exquisite.
Brock: It sure is delicious! I should get your recipe.
Tabitha giggles at this.
Tabitha: Brock, you sounded like a great cook.
Vulpix: Well, Brock told me he learned all he knows from his folks back in Pewter City.
Tabitha: Wow, Brock, your mom, and dad must be proud of you.
Brock blushed at the praise Tabitha was giving him.
Brock: Why, thank you, Tabitha. Yesterday, you were a great help to your mom.
Tabitha: Well, for what I plan to be, my Mom's a great teacher.
Natalie: Great? Mom's the best in the world!
Nurse Joy blushed at the praise her daughters were giving her.
Tabitha: Brock? This afternoon, I wanna talk to you about something.
Brock: Uh, m-me? Uh, okay. I guess that's fine.
Just then, they saw Oliver coming over to the table.
Oliver: Hey, everyone. Got room for one more?
Ivan: Of course, Oliver. Come on over.
Oliver: Thanks. (takes a seat)
Nurse Joy: Here you go, sir.
Oliver: Thanks, Nurse Joy.
As Oliver was enjoying his breakfast, the kids, the babysitters, and their Pokémon are getting ready for a new day when Brock remembers Oliver's bill money.
Brock: I hope you don't mind, Oliver, but I took the liberty of paying your bill for ya.
Oliver: Thank you, Brock.
Brock: No problem.
Nurse Joy: Well, it's time to open up the inn for business.
Ivan: Right, dear.
Tabitha: (to Tyler and Natalie) C'mon, you two. Let's help out.
Tyler: We're right behind ya, sis.
Natalie: Yeah!
The three children followed after their parents.
Brock: What do you say, guys? Wanna help our new friends out?
Vulpix: Well, I'm for it.
Tracey: Well, why not?
May: Let's do it!
Max: (coos)
Pikachu: Alrighty!
Ash: I'm ready!
The others nodded in agreement.
Brock: Great! Let's do this.
So they got right to work. May was helping the other infants by feeding them, Cilan was writing prescriptions, Dawn was giving checkups, Iris was mashing herbs and spices while Pikachu was helping her, Ash was helping the twins with the medical supplies, and Brock and Misty are leading the other patients to the examination rooms.
The babysitters and the other Pokémon helped with other stuff as well.
Iris: Pikachu, me and Axew are gonna need some more herbs, please.
Pikachu: Coming up.
May: Well, ma'am, your baby daughter is gonna be just fine in a few days.
Woman: Thank you.
Cilan: All done sir, here's your prescription.
Man: Thanks, young man.
Tracey: (holding a picture of a cross) Now, little boy, what do you see in this drawing I'm holding?
Boy: Um, a wooden cross?
Tracey: That's right, good job. You passed your eye examination.
Boy: (smiles) Gee, thanks.
Ash: Tyler, Natalie, I need an arm cast, please.
Tyler: I'll get it, Ash. (grabs an arm cast and gives it to Ash)
Ash: Thanks, Tyler.
Natalie: Anything I can do?
Ash: Well, I do need some calcium tablets, please.
Natalie: Coming right up! (grabs a bottle of calcium tablets and gives it to Ash)
Ash: Thanks, Nat.
Natalie: (smiles) You're welcome.
Misty: Right this way, ma'am.
Brock: This will lead you to your examination room.
Woman: Thank you, dears.
Daisy: Now, let's take a look at that broken femur of yours. (takes an x-ray machine out to take a look at the bones of an old man)
Old Man: Well, how's it look?
Daisy: Good thing it didn't do too much damage though. All you need is a cast and you'll be fine.
Old Man: Good to know.
Marina: Let me see if I can wash that wound for you, little girl.
The little girl winced in pain a little as Marina helped her.
Marina: You alright?
Little Girl: Just hurts a little. But I'm okay.
Marina: (smiles) That's good.
Jasper: Alright, young man, open wide and say "ahh".
Little Boy: Ahh…
Jasper: Hmm… It's looking quite healthy. I'm glad you're taking good care of your throat.
Little Boy: Thanks, sir.
April: Let's test your reflexes, sir. (taps the man's left and right legs)
The man's legs went up as she tapped them.
April: They look great, mister.
Man: Thank you, young lady.
Dennis: Here you go, ma'am. One bottle of strawberry medicine for your son.
Mother: Thank you, dear.
Son: Yeah, thanks, mister.
By the time it was afternoon, it was time for Tabitha to speak to Brock about going out this evening.
Brock: So, what did you wanna talk to me about, Tabitha?
Tabitha: Well, I was wondering if you would like to go out to dinner tonight.
Brock felt his heart skip a beat.
Brock: I'd love to, my heart just skips a beat.
Tabitha: (sigh with relief) Thank goodness.
Brock: So what time should we go?
Tabitha: How about 6 o'clock?
Brock: (grins) Sounds like a plan.
Vulpix grinned for her Trainer.
Vulpix: I'm proud of you, Brock.
Brock: (giggles a bit) I have a good feeling about this.
Vulpix: (giggles) I'm sure both of you will.
Then evening soon came, and Brock and Tabitha were ready for their date. Both of them had cleaned up so they could look their best.
Brock: Well, I'm ready for tonight. How about you, Vulpix?
Vulpix: As I'll ever be.
Brock: Then let's go see if Tabitha's ready as I am.
They went to see Tabitha.
Brock: Hey Tabitha, are you– (surprised to see Tabitha)
Tabitha had a pretty dress on and lovely sandals that showed off her feet and toes.
Brock: Oh, Tabitha. You look lovely!
Tabitha blushed and smiled.
Tabitha: You don't look so bad yourself, Brock.
Brock: (blushes) Well, thank you.
Tabitha: Well, it's time for us to get going. Right, Partner?
Brock and Vulpix: Partner?
Chespin: Chespi!
Brock: A Chespin!
Tabitha: That's right and he's my first Pokémon.
Vulpix: Well, hello, Chespin. (offers a paw-shake)
As Chespin returned the paw-shake, he felt like something miraculous happened.
Chespin: Nice to me- Wait! Was that me?
Tabitha gasped upon realizing her own partner was talking.
Tabitha: Chespin, how can you speak a human language like us?
Chespin: I have no idea, but I like it!
Vulpix realized something.
Vulpix: I just passed the miracle of Jesus to you.
Tabitha and Chespin: The miracle of Jesus?
Brock: That's how Vulpix and our other Pokémon are able to talk like we can.
Tabitha: Oh, I see. Well, shall we go?
Brock: Yeah, good idea.
Vulpix and Chespin: Right behind ya.
So the two trainers and their two Pokémon went out to dinner. They soon found a table to sit at.
Brock: That looks like a good spot to eat.
Tabitha: Oh yes.
Brock: Allow me. (offers Tabitha a chair)
Tabitha: Why thank you, sir. (adjusts her dress as she sits down)
Brock: So, what are you gonna have? (sits down)
Tabitha: Well, let's see what's on the menu, shall we?
A waiter brings two menus for the two.
Waiter: Here are your menus, children. Feel free to take your time.
Brock: Thank you, sir.
Waiter: And some food for your Pokémon as well?
Tabitha: Yes, please.
Waiter: Coming right up.
The waiter briefly left to bring back some food for Vulpix and Chespin while Brock and Tabitha looked over the menu.
Tabitha: So, what're you having?
Brock: Hmm… Some Shlomlite Hummus would be nice.
Tabitha: Ah. Nice choice.
Brock: And you, Tabitha?
Tabitha: Umm… Oh, Shlomlite Meatballs for me.
The waiter soon returned, and Brock and Tabitha gave him their respective orders. Satisfied, the waiter took back their menus and had glasses of water brought to them.
Waiter: Here you are, children, two glasses of water.
Brock and Tabitha: Thank you very much.
Waiter: You are very welcome. Your orders will be ready in a few minutes.
Brock and Tabitha thanked him once again before he left.
Brock: So, Tabitha, you do like to help others, don't you?
Tabitha: Oh yes. Guess I get it from my mom.
Brock: That's nice, so do mine.
Tabitha: So, do you have any siblings back home?
Brock: Yeah, a few brothers and sisters.
Tabitha: Wow…
Brock: Tabitha, I need to talk to you about something.
Tabitha: Okay…
Brock: Well, I was wondering… If you would like to, uh… Come with me and my friends on our journey.
Tabitha was surprised by this. Brock asked if she'd like to join him and his friends?
Tabitha: Brock… I-I don't know what to say except… Yes! I'd love to!
Brock was surprised by what Tabitha just said that he thought he might've been dreaming.
Brock: Vulpix, pinch me to see if I'm awake.
Vulpix used her front paws to pinch a part of Brock's body.
Brock: Ouch. Yep, I'm wide awake.
Tabitha: I'd like to know more about you, Brock. So maybe traveling with you would be a big help. And I imagine Chespin would fit in well with the other Pokémon now that he can talk.
Brock: That would be great, Tabitha. Any thoughts on what your folks might say?
Tabitha: If they say yes, I'll be able to help you and your friends on your travels.
Chespin: Well I wouldn't mind seeing more of the region.
Vulpix: Me neither.
Soon, their respective meals arrived, for both Trainers and Pokémon.
Chespin: Alright, let's eat!
Vulpix: Wait, before we eat, let's pray.
Tabitha: Ah, good idea. Brock, would you start?
Brock: It would be my honor.
So Brock cleared his throat and started to pray.
Brock: O Lord, we would like to thank you for bringing us to this restaurant for dinner and thanks for giving me courage to ask Tabitha to come with us tomorrow. In your Name, we pray, Amen.
Tabitha, Vulpix, and Chespin: Amen.
Brock: Now let's eat.
Tabitha: Yes, let's.
So the kids and their Pokémon went right away to eat their dinner. After they ate, they paid for their meal and went back to the Inn and got their pajamas on. Before Tabitha can go to bed, she went to ask her parents.
Tabitha: Mom, Dad, I have something to tell you and, well, I'm hoping you'll say yes.
Nurse Joy: What is it, dear?
Tabitha: Well… Will you let me and Chespin go on a journey with Brock and his friends?
Ivan: Why's that, sweetheart?
Tabitha: Well… (blushes)
Nurse Joy: Come on, honey, you can tell us.
Tabitha: I always wanted to see somewhere new and go on a Pokémon Journey. Please, can I go?
Ivan and Nurse Joy thought for a minute or two. Then they nodded in agreement.
Nurse Joy: Alright, Tabitha, you can start tomorrow morning.
Tabitha: (smiles) Really?!
Nurse Joy: Of course. You're growing up so it's only fair that you get to experience the world outside the Inn.
Tabitha: Oh, thank you so much!
Tabitha hugged and kissed both her parents.
Ivan: You are welcome, honey. Now, get some sleep.
Nurse Joy: Yes. You have a big day tomorrow.
Tabitha: Okay… (yawns) Goodnight.
That night, Brock and Tabitha said some prayers in their respective rooms.
Brock and Tabitha: Dear God…
Brock: Thank you for giving me a great evening…
Tabitha: For giving me some courage to go out to dinner with Brock…
Brock: Also, thanks for being with me to ask Tabitha to go out on our journey tomorrow…
Tabitha: Also, thanks a lot for standing with me to ask Mom and Dad if I can go out on a journey tomorrow.
Brock and Tabitha: In your Name, we pray, Amen.
Vulpix and Chespin: Amen.
And just like that, Brock and Tabitha went straight fast to sleep. The next morning, after breakfast, Tabitha went right to work on packing things that she needed.
Tabitha: Chespin, have I got everything?
Chespin: Well, let's see. (takes a look) Canteen, pajamas, bible, toothpaste, toothbrush, and hairbrush. Yep, that's everything.
Tabitha: Oh good. (looks at herself in a nearby mirror)
Tabitha decided to wear clothing suitable for Shlomite's climate - a shirt, a skirt, and slip-on shoes.
Tabitha: Well, I'm all dressed up and ready to go.
Meanwhile, Brock was paying their bill for their time at the Inn, including Oliver's.
Brock: Here you go, Nurse Joy.
Nurse Joy: Thank you, Brock. (to Oliver) Hope you had a good time here during your recovery.
Oliver: I sure did, Nurse Joy. Thank you. (reclaims his Poké Balls)
Daisy: So you're heading out, huh?
Oliver: Yes, I am.
Ivan: Stay safe out there!
Oliver: I will. (heads out) Thanks again!
Just then, Tabitha showed up with Chespin.
Tabitha: Hey, guys.
Everyone looked and saw that Tabitha was dressed a little differently and had a bag with her and Chespin.
Brock: Wow! Tabitha, you look great.
Tabitha smiled.
May: Uh, what's going on here?
Natalie: Mama, why's Tabitha dressed differently and have a bag?
Nurse Joy: Well, Natalie, your big sister's going on a Pokémon Journey with her new friends.
Tyler: She is?
Brock didn't say anything, but inside he was excited.
Ivan: That's right.
Just then, a bright light shined all around the room.
Tyler and Natalie: (covering their eyes) What's going on?
Tabitha: I don't know. (covering her eyes)
Ash, Pikachu, and the others had a pretty good idea as to what was going on.
Ash: We know who it is. Right, Pikachu?
Pikachu: I'll say.
Sure enough, it was Jesus Christ with a big smile on his face.
Jesus: Hello, my young friends.
Brock: Hello, Jesus. What are you doing here?
Jesus: Well, Brock, I came here to say that I am proud of you for being a good neighbor to Oliver.
Tabitha and her family couldn't believe what they were seeing.
Ivan: Honey, kids, are you seeing what I'm seeing?
Nurse Joy: The son of the Lord in our Inn?
Tyler and Natalie: Whoa…
Tabitha and Chespin: Wow…
Brock: A good neighbor to Oliver? What are you talking about?
Jesus: Allow me to explain with a Bible verse that's just right for you, and it's from the Book of Leviticus.
Brock: That's amazing!
Jesus: In that verse, it says, "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord."
Pikachu: You mean our good deed in helping Oliver and his Pokemon after those stooges from Team Rocket attacked them?
Jesus: That is right, Pikachu. And Brock showed love by helping Oliver to this Inn. In fact, you did the exact same thing just as the Good Samaritan did in one of my Parables.
Vulpix: He did? Wow…
Jesus: And Tabitha…
Tabitha: (nervously) Y-Y-Y-Yes?
Jesus: (reassuringly) Don't be afraid, child. I want to say that I am glad that you prayed to Me for courage.
Tabitha: R-R-Really?
Jesus: Yes, you are ready to join your new friends on this faithful journey ahead of you.
Tabitha: Yes, I am. I am ready to go.
Chespin: And I'll be right there with ya.
Tabitha: (smiles) Thanks, Chespin. And thank you, Jesus.
Jesus: (chuckles) You are welcome. (waves goodbye and disappears)
Tyler: Hey, He disappeared.
Natalie: Mama, think we'll see Him again?
Nurse Joy: (smiles) I'm sure we will, honey.
After a while, Tabitha hugged each member of her family before joining the group.
Natalie: Have fun, big sis.
Tyler: You'll write to us, won't you?
Tabitha: Aw, of course, I will. (hugs the twins)
Nurse Joy: Take care, Tabitha. (hugs and kisses Tabitha on the cheek)
Tabitha: (hugs back) I will, Mom.
Ivan: Brock, take good care of our daughter.
Brock: Y-Yes, sir.
Vulpix: I'll make sure he does. (winks)
Brock: Well, Tabitha, are you ready to go?
Tabitha: Yeah, I'm ready. You ready, Chespin?
Chespin: You know it!
Ash: Welcome to the family, Tabitha.
Pikachu: Likewise.
Narrator: Same old journey, brand new friends. The family seems to grow bigger and bigger every time they meet someone new. Now, with their new friend by their side, Tabitha's journey has just begun. As the journey continues.
To Be Continued…
And that just about does it for this chapter of the Pokemon Kids. Please come back next week for another exciting chapter of their story. I will see you next time, and take care.
