Hi! I am excited to give you chapter 4! This one should give you a few feels and maybe some laughs. I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 4

POV Nico

Bianca was by far one of the smartest kids that I have ever known or met. She just sits and observes and when she has something to say or ask, she does. She seemed to really want to know why I took Connor away and where that was exactly.

I tried explaining to her that we lived in a world where monsters lived. Which she understood as she had seen them herself. However, what she could not grasp is that her dad was an immortal. I mean I didn't use that language with her but like I said she's smart.

"But what do you mean you moved the shadows? I can move mine by doing jumping jacks," she huffed.

"I understand that sweety but what I did was move shadows that weren't mine. I went into the dark parts of the shadow and moved me, Travis, and Connor to our manor where Will was."

"Will your boyfriend?" I nodded." And a doctor?"

"Yes, he's studying to become a doctor."

"And him and you are going to be my new parents?"

"If that's what you want. Or I could be your big brother with a super cute boyfriend," she giggled.

"No, you can be my parents." She nodded. I smiled. "But does that mean my real dad would become my grandpa or would I still have to call him dad?"

I laughed, imagining the face my dad would make when Bianca called him grandpa for the first time. Persephone would eat it up but he hates that he's so old.

"You'll have to ask him. But I think you should call him grandpa."

It wasn't noticeable to anyone else but I felt the ground shake for a few seconds. Which made me grin harder.

"So…" she paused "do you want to be Papa or Daddy?" she asked like it was the most non-life changing question ever.

"I would be honored to be either one, as long as you picked. But I feel you need to meet Will first he might have a preference."

She nodded growing quiet. We had been driving for about 30 minutes and were just about to hit Colorado. We knew that there were kids there we just didn't know which ones they were at this point.

"Mountains," Bianca said. "Chris would have liked them." She said the last part quietly.

"I bet he would. Maybe one day his guardians can take him there."

"We go too?"

"Maybe but we would have to ask Will."

"K," she took a breath and then said. "Is it just me, you, and Mr. Will?"

"No B, it's going to be me, you, Mr. Will, and your little sister Hazel."

"How old is she?"

"Two like Reyna just a little older than her."

"Oh."

"Is that a problem?"

"No, she's just gonna need more protectin."

"You're right she will need more protection but you don't have to worry about that anymore that's what Daddies and Papas are for."

Percy was smiling from the front seat. I could see him take Annabeth's hand as he continued to drive.

"Mr. Percy?"

"Yes, sweet cheeks what can I do for you?"

"You have kids?" he paused before answering. He looked over to Annabeth who nodded.

"Yea I have a son," he swallowed. "his name is Frank but we call him Frankie."

"You found him like me?"

"Yep, though he didn't have wild bird ladies trying to eat him as you did."

"I wasn't scared I had a plan to get out."

"It was probably a great plan," I said.

"Yeah, but I'm happy you came."

"Me to bug."

The car grew quiet after that. Not many sounds from either the driver or the passenger either. Just simple things like how far they were from the border of Colorado and that type of thing. I was hoping that Bianca would nap before we got there as I had a strange feeling, that we were about to be outnumbered on the kiddo front but no such luck.

As we made it across the border to Colorado, I could already feel that something was off. I sat up a little more.

"Why's it feel like that?" asked Bianca

"Like what bug?"

"Extra cold and dark, but not like the sun not out dark like bird ladies dark."

She was right of course that's exactly what it felt like. Percy and I met eyes in the mirror.

"Okay, my brave girl I need to go jump in some shadows really quick I need you to stay with Uncle Percy and Aunt Beth, okay?"

"No. I come with." She started to unbuckle her seat belt.

"No, you stay here where it's safe. Remember it's Daddies and Papas that take care and protect smart brave girls like you."

"But you could get hurt and then you got no protecin then what? You have to come back with me to Mr. Will."

"And I will do that I promise okay? I'm just going to see what is making that feeling happen okay?"

"You come back? Promise?"

"Promise." I kissed her head and blinked out of the dark car.

I came back to a shadowy cliff area. It was dark and cold but it didn't feel like a completely dark force more like someone calling them without meaning. I searched the cave area. As I was looking, I could hear sniffling and whimpers.

"Is okay, Hazza I got you." a tiny whisper.

"C-c-cold."

"I know but I no know how to make a fire."

I took a step out of the dark. I made sure that the little boy could see me.

"Hi there." They both jumped anyway. "I'm not going to hurt you I'm here to help you."

"Stay way!" the little boy said.

"See I have to take you with me, I have some people that would really like to meet you, and Hazel there has a big sister that wants to meet her."

"NO, she stays wif me, not you."

"What's your name buddy."

"Dakota."

"Dakota if I go get someone that is going to take care of you could I then take you to a safe place. There is a big drop off and I don't want you to get hurt."

"N-not bad?"

"No bud we are very good I promise."

"Fine, you can take us to them."

Without thinking too much I grabbed them both and took them away back to where I could feel the others were. When we got back out of the shadows Bianca was immediately on me hugging my legs. Her little face was buried in my thigh I could start to feel wetness right about where her eyes would be.

"Hey, sweet girl can I give Dakota to Percy, and then I will introduce you to your baby sister?"

Her little head nodded but she didn't move. I huffed, Percy came over and took Dakota from me.

"Hey there little man can I take you for a second Nico wants to hang with his girls for a little bit."

"No, hurt us." He says with determination.

"Of course, we wouldn't dream of hurting you." Dakota reached his arms out to Percy who then took him to Jason who had a sleeping Reyna on his chest.

At this point, I had a few minutes to look around and noticed that we were in a parking lot. Jason was sitting in the back seat of the van with the door open. Dakota was asking questions in a stage-type whisper. A sniff from below brought me back to the present. I bent down careful of her hugging my leg to get closer to Bianca's level.

"Alright you two, I have someone for you both to meet. B this is Hazel, Hazel this is your big sister B."

"B?" the smaller girl asks.

"Y-yep that me I'm going to take care of you."

"If you do all the taking care of what are me and Mr. Will supposed to do?"

"Miser Will?" asked Hazel.

"Our other daddy," Bianca says like that's completely normal.

"Daddy?"

"Yea they take us in and we no more live in the wild."

"That's right B. We take you in and now you and Hazel have a family. You know what's really cool though?"

"What?" they ask at once.

"You know grandpa whose my dad and also yours B?" cue rumbling of the ground.

"Uh-huh," she says.

"Well, Hazel shares the same dad as well." I was too tired to explain the difference between Roman and Greek versions of the Gods so I left it out.

"We is all relateded?"

"That's right!"

"We meet grandpa?"

"One day, I'm sure."

Our conversation got cut short when a shimmering wall of water popped in front of us. Will's voice and face came into view.

"Babe?"

"Hey, Will?"

"Is Mr. Will?" asked B.

I was about to answer but Will took that as his cue to acknowledge the girls.

"Why yes that is me and who might you be?"

"I's and Hazel your daughter." She says matter of fact.

"Huh well, it's nice to meet you daughter of mine." He's smiling with shiny eyes.

"I have a question for you." B continues.

"What might that be princess?"

"Do you want to be called daddy or papa?"

"Well," he pauses. "What do I look like a daddy or a papa?"

"Hmmm," she says with her hand on her chin. Before she can answer Hazel does it for her.

"Papa!"

"I agree." Says Bianca. "Your papa and Nico daddy!"

"Alrighty then!" this time my eyes are a little shiny too.

"Was there a reason for this message?" I asked still holding Hazel on my hip.

"Yes, I was just checking in. Connor and Chris hit it off really well Chris still isn't talking but he let me put bandaids on his bigger cuts so that's good. I was also going to ask if I need to get ready for any more kiddos?"

"I would say usually I would bring Dakota and Hazel to you but I'm wiped out so I will have to pass and we will be home when we pick up the other kiddos."

"You not pushing yourself? You okay are you sick?"

"Ha, ha. I have more important things to worry about now." I say.

"That's right you got to bring the girls home so their Papa can squeeze them tight." Will makes a funny face that has the girls giggling.

"Alright girls say bye to Papa, we will see him soon!"

"Bye-bye, papa!" they say waving.

"Bye-bye papa," I repeat.

The connection fades. I thank Iris quietly not wanting to upset the Goddess who works so hard for us demigods. I look over and see that Dakota is officially strapped into the booster seat on the other side of Jason while Reyna is asleep in the bigger car seat.

I make my way over to the other van making sure I have Bianca's hand as I do.

"Alrighty, girls let's get you strapped in so we can go see Papa."

"Like us?" asks Hazel.

"He'll love you sweet pea I know it!"

Once in their car seats, I take wet wipes to Hazel's everything to make sure she's clean and see that Will added a binky to Hazel's backpack so I hand it to her. It goes straight into her mouth. I look over to see Bianca finally sleeping and Hazel is on her way there.

Finally, I can take a breath. Finding both my girls in no ideal situations was a lot to handle. I was exhausted so; I took a page out of my daughter's book- daughters I still can't wrap my head around it- and went to sleep. Hopefully, the other pickups will go smoother.
