District 1

"Hey." A female voice hissed in the seat somewhere behind her. Regina paused, her pen poised delicately over her paper, trying to remember who it was that sat behind her. Oh well, it didn't matter. She resumed her task, writing down the equations along with the teachers droning vice. Whoever it was, they should have enough sense not to bother her during a class lecture. "Regina." The voice softly went again. She sighed then tilted her head up enough to indicate she was listening. The way this was going, they were both going to get caught if she didn't just get it over with. "Here." She only heard a soft crumple of paper before she it landed elegantly in front of her, right on her calculus notebook. 'Good, she had enough sense to just make it a note.'

Shecasually grabbed it and tucked into the safety of her notebook; it wasn't too uncommon for her to get notes, but after a few embarrassing times she had to read them aloud after being caught in her previous years, she tried to keep them out of sight during class. "It's from Dia by the way." The girl whispered to her, making the thought of reading the note even less appealing. 'You know what, I think I'll just throw it away.' She thought with a roll of her eyes. That girl was so one-note Regina could probably replicate what was on the letter without too much brain power.

The girl looked at the clock, five minutes left, finally. No offence to math, but she didn't exactly think it would help her in life. What was an equation to do when someone came at her with an axe? But of course, Regina Soto could solve anything and look great while doing it.

She smiled to herself. After she got back from winning the games, she was going to personally throw a party at her new place. She would have more of them as the month went on, but she wanted to have her wedding (she'd need Velvet to propose) before she had anything other than her housewarming party. Regina already had most of it planned out. She drifted out of her thoughts, recognizing the teacher's speech that he gave before class was dismissed. She had her books gathered up by the time the bell gave its pleasant chime.

Floating confidently out the door, Regina She merged into the sea of students, the girls in their white blouses and black skirts, the boys in white dress shirts and black pants. Of, course she looked the best in hers. With a slight title of her head upwards, she caught a glimpse of a familiar bob of hair. Her lips quirked up."Glitty, hey!" She tapped the girls shoulder and joined her as they walked to their next class.

"Hey, Regina!" The girl replied, a smile spreading across her face. "I'm so glad it's third period, I almost died in my last two classes." She exclaimed.

"Ugh, tell me about it." Regina agreed. "I don't see why we even have to take classes we won't even need. Like, what good will Advanced History do in any job, besides teaching history?!" She asked with a huff.

"Not sure, maybe they want us to bore our enemies to death?" Glitty asked with a small laugh.

Regina snickered back. "Yeah, I'll be sure to try that one out in the arena. Once you hear me ranting about the Fish Migration of 3014, know that you inspired it."

Glitty giggled. "Get a speaker and you'll take the record for most tributes killed and fastest victor."

"Aw, but then the entire Capital would have died too. Can't have them dead if I'm to be victor." Regina said with a tilt of her head. Suddenly, a warm arm wrapped around her middle, pressing her into a muscular body.

"Who can't we have dead now?" Velvet asked, kissing the top of her head. Her body practically jumped at his kiss, and she grinned and turned to face him.

"You of course, although with a kiss like that I might reconsider." She teased, her eyes tracing the features of his face. They were only a few inches apart, and her heart beat in anticipation.

"Well then, let me sway you back to letting me live." And with that, his hand pressed against the back of her hair before kissing her. Sparks of joy filled her and she leaned closer, aware of the other students gawking around them, whispering as if it made any difference. 'Good'. She thought, her hand traveling up his back. 'Let them talk.'

They broke away, both grinning like idiots. "I knew there was a reason I liked you." She told him, blushing under his gaze. She turned away and looked at Glitty. "Now, to class?" She asked, her free hand slipping into Velvets.

The crowd around them dissipated once they realized the show was over, the hallway returned to it's steady buzz of conversation. Reginia walked with her friends to their next shared class.

"So have you found a dress for the formal yet?" Reginia asked Glitty.

"Not yet, I can't decide if I want the Shimmering Ice or the Snowfelt." She said with a small sigh. "But then I'd also have to decide on accessories."

"Go with the Ice, it'll look better under the light." Reginia said. "I can help you pick out accessories after training, we'll just meet at home." She brushed her golden hair back behind her ear. The house that Reginia lived in was too large for one family, so Reginia's shared it with a few other wealthy families, Glitty included. The two girls were practically sisters at this point.

"I don't understand how you can be talking about what you're going to wear. The dance is a month away." Velvet interjected. Regina and Glitty laughed.

"Oh sweet Velvet, a girl has to be prepared." The teen said, bumping into his shoulder. "I already have what we are both going to wear picked out." Her hand reached out and straightened the collar of his shirt. He pulled her closer and they shared a quick kiss, before he opened the door to the training room and followed the girl inside.

Reginia inhaled the familiar scent of the room, the smell of well-earned sweat and ambition. Sunlight poured in from the glass roof above, illuminating the various stations of the room. Training simulators were stacked like shelves on top of each other, fitting flush against the walls of the large room. The only thing that really stood out from the walls were the circular elevators shafts, rising to the very top like pillars. Each training block was a curved rectangle, the wall facing the training center was made of a special glass and could darken if the occupant wished to train in private. Not many chose that option, Reginia certainly didn't.

She and Glitty walked around the left side of the circular room, heading towards the changing room with a few other girls. The ground floor didn't have any training rooms, hosting a crisp cafe and two large changing rooms equipped with showers.

It didn't take them long to change into their training clothes, form fitting black and grey fabric and sturdy yet flexible boots. Once their clothing and school supplies were safely stored behind the sleek lockeres, they walked out of the room and joined the gathered students. The trainer, winner of the 238th game, Saffron Hights was currently assigning training sections.

"Sunny, I want you to work on your swordsmanship with Greatness and Gloss in C1. Dolly, you go to E3." She said, sleek brown hair bobbing as she pointed out the students. The room had eight floors in total but 7 of those were training floors. Those floors were referred to from A to G, A being the lowest difficulty and G being the highest. The numbers were in reference to what each room catered to, such as 1 being swords, 2 spears, and 3 knives. There were more, but those were the highlights.

Saffron continued to send students to the stations, sometimes with partners, other times alone. "Glitty, you and Dia are in in E5." Reginia could only watch as Glitty winced before joining Dia towards the elevators. Glitty used to bullied when she was younger, and although Dia wasn't the culprit, she was still a gossipy and mean girl to be around. Being preoccupied, Reginia didn't notice when Velvet slid up beside her and wrapped his arm across her shoulders.

"She gave me a note today, well, made someone give me a note." She told him as he followed her eyes to the girl as she sashayed away.

"Yeah, that sounds like something she would do." He agreed. "I don't think Dia will do anything though, she's too scared of you." Velvet assured her, rubbing his thumb in circles on her shoulder. She watched as her friend and Dia disappeared into the maw of the elevator.

"Damn right." Reginia agreed turning to him. "So." She started, brighting up. If Dia did anything Reginia would make sure she regretted it for the rest of her life. She already could make that happen, but once she became victor it would be even easier. "What did Saffron assign us today?"

"I love how you didn't even pretend to have listened." He smiled down at her, leaning close. His lips brushed against hers, sending sparks of warmth through her body.

"Soto, Rines, get a move on." The trainer barked as they both laughed and pulled away. Hands interlocked with Velvets, Reginia flashed a smile at Saffron before pulling her boyfriends head towards him and kissing him on the lips. Not stopping to listen to the victors response, she raced towards the elevator with a giddy smile. Then she closed it on Velvet's surprised face and hit the button going all the way to the top.

Well, it's been around 2 months since I last updated. That's...that's not good. I'll try to actually keep to a schedule now.

Anyways: Reginia, Glitty and Velvet are owned by Kkstar47. Dia and Saffron are two characters in there just for the chapter.

I have a forum open to anyone so go here: myforums/CraizinMonster/12710560/ Or go to the HG forums list and go to the last page, it's probably still hanging around there.
