By the time they got back to Zaofu, the word spread throughout the world on newspapers that the earth queen was no more. The advisors and those who were supposed to step in when something happened to her had also perished. The military was quickly falling apart. The guards thrown out. Police officers didn't know what to do. Ba Sing Se was crumbling from within and spreading panic throughout the kingdom.
However, when the group arrived in Zaofu they met an unexpected guest. Tonraq, Korra's dad. "After Zaheer's entire group broke free," he said, "I went to Republic City to find you, Korra, only to be told you're traveling around the earth kingdom to look for new airbenders. Then I finally managed to get to Zaofu only to hear you ran off."
"I tried to track down Zaheer down," Korra explained, "and we found out he's killed the earth queen, and now he's going around murdering the rest of the world leaders. He tried to kidnap me as a kid because he wanted to disable me so bad, I wouldn't be able to stop him. We can't let him win!"
That's when a messenger hawk arrived. It was from Zaheer. He wanted Korra to meet him at Lahima's Plateau and turn herself over to him alone, or else the airbenders at the northern air temple would also perish.
"He has to be bluffing," Korra said, examing the letter, "he told me he just the idea of rulers having power over people. Why would he kill the airbenders? They don't have power over anyone."
"He could have lied to you," Kuvira said, "but we can't take that chance."
"Opal is in danger," Suyin said, "And it's all my fault! She would be safe if she was still here!"
A knife went through Kuvira's heart. "Su," she said, "it's my fault she left. She was undecided, and when she asked me what I thought she should do, I told her it would be a good idea if she left to learn how to airbend. I'm sorry."
"We have to save her from that monster," Suyin said.
They collected all the guards and every fighter in the metal clan and headed straight for Lahima's Plateau, on airships. Kuvira watched the sky from the airship after being briefed on what was going to happen. Korra was going to hand herself over, and all of the metal benders with Tonraq were going to hang from the cliffs to make sure everything went smoothly.
The plateau had a full view of the northern air temple in the distance. Mako, with Bolin in tow, was supposed to walk out and give the all clear for Korra to turn herself over. If anything went wrong, they were to attack Zaheer and the rest of his group.
When Mako first came out, he waved, but a moment later, he gave the signal that everything was not okay. Things were going wrong.
"Go!" Lin shouted, "Go! Go!"
By the time Kuvira made it to the top, Zaheer made a gust of wind so powerful it knocked her off again. The second time around climbing, she slowed down and waited for her opportunity to strike. She watched as P'li attacked Su and Lin relentlessly.
Kuvira managed to sneak around and knock her down with some rocks. When P'li turned to attack her, Su threw everything she had at her. Lin snuck around and drew her fire.
Kuvira got up and helped Tonraq and Korra fight Zaheer. She used her wires to pull him away from Korra as Tonraq assaulted him with more and more water. The airship Zaheer used got cut off in the fight and began floating away aimlessly.
As Tonraq distracted Zaheer, Kuvira went to Korra and said, "Spread your chains." With earth bending, Kuvira launched a pillar of rock through the chains, breaking them. Now uninhibited, Korra put up a strong fight, as Tonraq slowly ran out of water. Kuvira threw rocks and shook the earth under his feet, but he wouldn't budge. He tossed her clean across the ground.
She turned in time to see an injured and battered Lin and Su kill P'li. "P'li!" Zaheer shouted. One down, three more to go.
Kuvira got back up and tried to take advantage of his emotions. She managed to tie up his hands and throw him to the side as Korra used wind to knock him down. He flipped around and blasted Kuvira directly into a rock. She saw stars. It was a moment before she could catch her breath again.
When she managed to focus back on what was going on to got to watch Zaheer pick up Korra's unconscious body. She looked around at the scene. Lin was down, her right shoulder and arm broken. Tonraq was out of water. Suyin's ankle was broken, she couldn't walk or stand. The rest of the guards were strewn across the ground, not getting up. Alone, Kuvira stood up behind Zaheer's back.
"Release your tether," Zaheer said to himself at the edge of the cliff, "let go of earthly ties. Enter the void, empty, and become wind."
He walked off of the edge. Kuvira ran after him. She watched as he flew up into the sky, weightless. She took her metal wires and with metalbending, wrapped it around his ankles. He slowed down, but pulled her along with ease, ever closer to the very edge. With earthbending she planted both feet into the ground. He stopped in midair and turned around to face her. Angry, he used airbending to shoot a continuous blast of wind at her. She put up an earth wall to block him.
Stalemate.
"Su!" Kuvira called out in desperation, "Get up! I'm locked in a stalemate!" She watched as his airship floated off aimlessly into the distance, meanwhile a different, obviously piloted airship, headed straight for them. He was getting reinforcements, and Kuvira had no one backing her up. She shouted for anyone who could hear her, "Get over here now!"
Tonraq came up from behind her and grabbed her metal wires. With his brute strength alone, he began pulling Zaheer and Korra together back toward them against Zaheer's blasting of wind.
"I'm not letting you get away, Zaheer!" Tonraq shouted.
Growing impatient, Zaheer glared at them and dropped Korra. Tonraq screamed, "No!"
Kuvira let Zaheer go and dove off of the cliff to save her. With her wires, she wrapped one around Korra and one around the cliff, slamming Korra's back into the cliff face.
Kuvira said, "Sorry!"
She made an earth platform under Korra just as Zaheer swooped in towards her. With earthbending, she brought Korra back up to the top of the plateau. She attacked Zaheer with rocks left and right, only for him to dodge in midair and blast wind Tonraq, throwing him across the plateau once again. As he went in for Korra for round two, Kuvira covered her in a dirt cocoon.
Zaheer spun around, only to see the most determined look on Kuvira's face. He glared at her. "I was only going to do this to the world leaders," he spat, "but you're beginning to piss me off!" He took the air out of Kuvira's lungs and spun it around her head.
Her lungs burned and demanded air. She knew she had to do something, and do it fast, but nothing was coming to her. Her vision faded. She used metalbending one more time to get her wires around him again, but he leaped backwards, missing him entirely, but just in time for Tonraq to jump onto his back. The wind stopped spinning around her head. Kuvira got on her hands and knees and desperately gasped for breath as the life re-entered her body. Her vision returned.
She looked up in time to watch Zaheer create a wind vortex around Tonraq. He said, "Say hello to the earth queen for me!" Then tossed him over the edge.
Kuvira got up and dove after him. Her right side hooked onto the side of the cliff while her left grabbed Tonraq in midair. She watched his face twist in horror and then absolute relief as she saved his life. She knew there was no time to celebrate. All she had to do was quickly make it back to the top and get back to Zaheer-but it was too late. Together, both Kuvira and Tonraq watched as Zaheer flew off with Korra's unconscious body.
"Korra," Tonraq said sadly.
Kuvira gave Zaheer the most unimpressed look as he flew away, unaware of their staring.
Back on the top of the plateau, a few minutes later, Kuvira carefully wrapped up Tonraq's injuries. "I owe you my life, Captain," he said, "thank you."
"You can call me Kuvira," she replied, smiling at him, "and I also owe you my life. Thank you for getting up and saving me."
"I think I'm going to have nightmares of falling off of a cliff for years to come but that'll be nothing compared to something happening to Korra," Tonraq admitted, then he looked over to Kuvira who cheerfully finished bandaging him. "You seem awfully calm for someone who just now nearly died. Are you okay?"
She replied, "That wasn't the first time I spat in the face of death."
Lin asked, sitting on the ground in the distance, "Did I imagine things or did Zaheer fly away?"
Suyin answered, "No I saw it too. He was flying. Kuvira, you just witnessed a man fly! That didn't surprise you in the slightest?"
"Airbenders can fly," she answered, "what's there to be impressed with?"
"They don't usually fly like that," Lin said, "even Aang always needed a glider or his bison. I've never seen anything like it."
Kuvira shrugged, stood up, and asked everyone, "Who here is not injured?"
Everyone exchanged glances and then turned back to her. No one stood up to join her, no one said a word.
"It looks like you're the only one, kid," Lin said.
"KAA KAAAA!" Bolin shouted from the air, "KAA KAAAAA! We made it! Barely! But we made it!"
Bolin, Mako, and Kai flew in on a baby sky bison and landed beside them on the plateau. Mako explained, shaking his head, "We got everyone out of the air temple in time, but Ghazan melted the whole place into the ground. Both him and Ming Hua got away as we were helping everyone escape."
Kuvira explained, "P'li is dead, but Zaheer took Korra." Her voice wavered, "I couldn't stop him."
Bolin gasped, "No."
"Where is he taking her?" Mako asked.
Lin answered, "We don't know. They could be anywhere by now."
"I don't believe it!" Mako said as he paced around, "What are we supposed to do now? I can't just sit here and wait for the world to end! That's not good enough! We have to be able to do something! Anything to help!"
Kuvira said, "We're not completely lost. We know Zaheer is targeting world leaders. He has to be going after one of them next."
Bolin asked, "But which one?"
"The chief of the north pole?" she suggested.
Mako said, "That's the most obvious one since we're the closest to them, but maybe he thinks we'll think of that, so he'll go to the south pole instead, or maybe to Republic City. It's anyone's best guess."
Tonraq said, "I have no idea where to go next but I do know I want my daughter back in one piece."
"The avatar!" Lin said, "That's it! Korra's the bridge between worlds, the spirits are connected to her. Maybe they can help us find her before it's too late."
Bolin said, "That sounds like a good idea but how do we do that?"
"Kuvira," Lin said, "you're spiritually inclined. Maybe the spirits will tell you where Korra is."
All eyes turned to her. She took a step back and hesitated. "I-how did you guess that?" she asked awkwardly.
"You've been seeing and interacting with things that aren't there," she answered, "I know it's how you lead us straight to the hotel room Korra was in when we were looking for her."
"You can see spirits?" Suyin asked, completely baffled "You never told me."
"I didn't think it was ever relevant," Kuvira answered, "when I was on my own back when I was little, sometimes they would help me out, but I haven't asked for their help in over 10 years. What if they don't want to? Then what?"
Mako walked up to her and grabbed her shoulders. "Please try Kuvira, please. It's our only shot at finding Korra. You have to at least try!"
Kuvira stepped away from him and said, "I can try, but don't hold it against me if it doesn't work." She turned around and she did what she had done years earlier whenever she asked for their help. She closed her eyes and bowed her head slightly. In the quietest voice, she whispered, "Where can I find the avatar? Where is she? Where is the avatar?"
When she opened her eyes, she gasped and fell flat onto her back. "What?" Bolin asked, "What's happening?"
"Giant bird beast thing," Kuvira said, struggling to open her eyes to even look at it.
The large bright red and yellow phoenix bird revealed itself to everyone else, sitting pretty on top of Kuvira's torso. There were gasps throughout. Bolin nearly fell over and held onto Mako.
"I'm Ying," the bird's voice boomed, "the spirit who resides in these mountains. I must know, why are you looking for the avatar?"
"She's in danger," Kuvira answered, "and there a lot more people who are about to be in danger if we can't get to her in a timely manner and save her."
Ying said, "How noble of you. Lucky for you I do know where she is."
Bolin said excitedly, "You do? That's great!" He threw himself at the spirit. "Will you help us get to her?"
Ying jumped up to it's feet and bellowed, "WAS I SPEAKING TO YOU?!" The spirit flapped its wings for emphasis, causing a massive wind tunnel to form around them.
Bolin shrunk back and hid behind Mako as he squeaked, "No."
"Then stay silent!" Ying demanded.
Kuvira stood up and asked, "Will you help us?"
Ying pondered for a moment before asking, "And what do I get in return of my services? Nothing? I don't think so."
Kuvira took her helmet off and used metal bending to shape it into a bird with its wings wide open. She said, "You get to have this."
"I didn't know humans could bend metal," Ying said, looking at it carefully, "is that me?"
"Yes."
"It's amazing!" Ying replied.
Just as the spirit began to take it with its wing, Kuvira pulled it away. "Not until we get to the avatar."
"You drive a hard bargain, human," Ying replied, "very well. I will bring you to the avatar."
Kuvira replied, "Thank you. Can you possess that airship? We need to get all of these injured people on board before we go anywhere." The spirit flew off towards the aimlessly floating airship.
"No," Suyin said, "Kuvira, you have to hurry and get to Korra before it's too late. We'll be fine here."
"I'm not leaving anyone behind," Kuvira insisted.
Suyin explained, "We understand you're not abandoning us. It's okay. You can go with Mako and Bolin and save Korra."
"Speak for yourself," Lin said, standing up, holding her right shoulder and arm, "I'm not going to sit here and hope the world isn't ending. I'm going."
"I'm going too," Sarita said, "I'm bruised but I still have a few arrows left. The world is at stake!"
Kuvira nodded at her, then commanded, "Anyone who can walk on your own stand up. If you're able to, help anyone who can't stand. We have to move! Hurry!" She ran over and helped Suyin to her feet.
Ying flew the airship west, straight for the fire nation. They flew over volcanoes and populated towns straight for a small island in the northeast. The black sand and rocks rose up to a massive uninhabited volcano. A cave opening it in the side of it. They weren't the only ones arriving, a brigade of fire nation airships docked at the farside of the island as well.
Firelord Zuko stood outside of a cave directly opposing Zaheer. They stopped and stared at the arriving airship. Korra erupted from the cave, Ming hua and Ghazan not far behind. Her mouth exploded of fire, and wind whipped around them so hard they had trouble standing upright.
The airship unceremoniously crashed into the volcanic rock and shook violently, throwing everyone around inside. Despite his injuries, Tonraq was the first to exit the airship. With the water from the ocean, he brought it in close and attacked Zaheer with everything he had.
Meanwhile Kuvira turned to the spirit bird and gave Ying her sculpture. "Thank you for getting us here in time," she said, running off toward the action.
The fight was on. Ming hua turned and attacked Tonraq. Mako came up from behind to assist, throwing fire left and right. Bolin and Kuvira went for Ghazan who attempted to melt their feet out from under them. Sarita readied her bow.
Zaheer flew in the air above them, while a poisoned and avatar state Korra attempted to keep up. As she knocked him into the ground, he landed right in front of Zuko.
"It's been a long time since I fought an airbender," Zuko said, getting into position.
"Sorry but your death is going to have to wait," Zaheer replied. He jumped up and attempted to throw air at him.
Zuko dodged every attack with ease, his flames exploded into the air with Korra assaulting Zaheer from behind. On the ground, Bolin and Kuvira attempted to push Ghazan back but nothing was working. They were only gaining more distance as the lava spread.
Kuvira said, "This isn't working."
"Yeah, we're only getting further away," Bolin said anxiously.
Kuvira surveyed the scene. Ming hua was being pushed back up a second mountain on the far side of the island. Zaheer was dodging Zuko's and Korra's fire attacks. Sarita tried to aim her arrows at Ming hua from a distance, but they kept getting caught in her water.
"Sarita!" she called, "Over here!" The ran to meet each other halfway across the rocks, dodging fire blasts. Once they met up, she said, "I have an idea."
As Bolin kept Ghazan distracted, Kuvira and Sarita went into action. With earthbending, Kuvira created a large pillar parallel to the ground from the high ground. With one metal wire, she hung from above and then grabbed Sarita with the other. Being part of Suyin's dance troupe and a skilled aerialist despite her prosthetic feet, she flew through the air with ease.
It only took one shot. Sarita grabbed her arrow and while hanging upside-down, at a good 80–100-yard distance, she drew her bow. Before Ghazan could react, an arrow struck him straight through the heart.
Kuvira brought them both back down to earth. "Another down," she said, "two to go."
"The craziest bender ever got taken down by a regular girl with a bow," Sarita added, walking up to Bolin who sighed in relief, "now we don't have to worry about lava anymore."
BOOM!
The whole island shook as ash and soot entered the air and covered the already dark cloudy sky. Bolin shouted in panic, "The volcano is erupting! We have to get out of here!"
Kuvira glared at Sarita who covered her mouth in horror. "I am so sorry! I shouldn't have tempted the universe like that!"
Kuvira turned her attention back to how they got there. "Everyone aboard the airship is safe for right now but we have to get them out of here..." she paused, "wait, Firelord Zuko is here."
"Yeah, and he's putting up a good fight considering how old he is," Sarita noted.
"How can you two be so calm right now?!" Bolin shouted.
BOOM! They struggled to keep on their feet as the earth shook under them. Kuvira said, "The Firelord got here somehow. Find his airship or boat or however he got here on and help move the injured, Sarita. Bolin, we have work to do." She motioned for him to follow her.
Together the two earthbenders did what they could as the volcano walls broke, and lava spilled out. Cracks formed throughout the island, poisonous gas and magma rose up from underneath. It wasn't working.
Korra fell from the sky and coughed fire. "You can't fight me and the poison!" Zaheer shouted.
Kuvira attempted to run over to her but was blocked by Zaheer. Korra rose up, stomped her feet, and created cassums in the ground. Magma and lava filled the air, with airbending she cooled the large rock forms above them in every direction, stopping the flows from reaching them.
Meanwhile, Ming hua attempted to regroup with Zaheer. Now nearly completely out of water and too far away from the shoreline to grab any for herself. Tonraq was out as well, but Mako wouldn't let up. As the ash met with the sky, storm clouds rolled in.
"Everyone can walk on their own," Sarita said, coming up behind Kuvira, "they know what to do." She readied her bow once again, knowing she only had a couple of arrows left.
With firebending, Mako pushed Ming hua's back to them. She turned around, now completely out of water and nowhere else to run.
"Surrender," Sarita demanded, aiming her arrow at her, "you're unarmed!"
Mako's eyes went wide. Ming hua looked her over angrily and spat, "I'll steal your feet for that!"
"Attempt and die," Sarita replied.
BOOM! Thunder clapped overhead just as she released her arrow. She missed. The skies opened up with pouring rain. Zuko remarked, "The universe is in our favor."
Mako said, "It just gave an insane waterbender more water to attack us with!" She knocked him down the mountainside with her new water arms with ease. Lightning struck the ocean in the distance.
As Ming hua regained the upper hand of the fight once again, Zuko got himself into position. While he never mastered harnessing the power of lightning by generating it from his own body, there was another technique he had perfected instead.
He waited with his left arm over his head. His hair went up on end. Electricty flowed through the air. In an instant, he collected the power of the lightning strike from the sky into his arm, through his stomach, and aimed his right arm directly at Ming hua. They all watched as she screamed in agony and died before them. Three down, one to go.
Zaheer turned to them as the rain stopped and whipped the wind around hard. Kuvira braced herself but it wasn't enough, she and Bolin were both thrown and rolled down the mountainside.
Now in pain from being raked across the rocks, Kuvira got back to her feet in time to see a different lava river creeping in from the right. She grabbed at Bolin, forcing him away from it. Another massive flow directly in front of them was only gaining speed. She gasped and quickly raised a massive part of the ground they were standing on toward the sky. The lava struck their platform, slowly melting it away from underneath. They watched in horror as the it closed in around them on all sides. There was nowhere else to go.
Bolin went off to the side and attempted to create steps made of earth to make it over the lava flow. It wasn't enough to make it to the other side as the heat rose and touched their skin. "We have to try to cross!" he said, turning to her.
"That won't cut it!" she said, stumbling as the ground shifted under her feet. The steps crumbled and fell, melting into the heat.
As the lava rose to greet them, the temperature went with it. The ground under their feet cracked and poisonous gas seeped through. The lava rushed at them to think. There was no time. Kuvira ran forward and mustered all the strength she tried to push the earth around them at the lava.
Bolin ran up next to her and pushed up as much rock as he could. The ground under them broke apart from the heat. They held their breaths as more gas flew around them.
"It looks like we're not making it out of this one..." Kuvira cried.
He looked at her tears, and then ran to the front as the lava headed straight for them. He stood firm, and with all the courage he could muster, he used bending to stop the lava. The rocks cooled. A wall formed around them. The lava instantly redirected. They could breathe again as more rocks formed, sealing up the cracks and giving way to fresh air.
Kuvira dried her tears and asked, "Is that lavabending?"
"I'm a lavabender," Bolin said quietly, then turned around to face her and shouted, "I'm a lavabender!" He jumped in the air. "Did you see that?!"
"Bolin you saved us!" Kuvira shouted, running up to hug him.
He turned and cooled off the lava so they could run across it. He still hadn't stopped the earthquaking and the destruction on the rest of the island. They struggled to run across and meet back up with the rest of the ground. Korra was flailing. Tonraq used as much mud as he could, but nothing was working. Sarita had run out of arrows.
Zuko brought Mako across from him and said, "I'm going to show you how my great-grandfather and his army killed all the airbenders. Stand there."
Mako tried to contain his shock at that sentence as he stayed put. Under Zaheer, the two of them forced a funnel of fire upwards, not unlike the dragons had shown Zuko when he was a teenager with Aang. Heat rises and naturally burns oxygen, by keeping the funnel long enough Zaheer would run out of air, both to bend and to breathe.
Zaheer choked and struggled to stay airborne and fly out of the flames reach. As he fell to the ground, he spun around toward Zuko. He lost his position and was easily knocked down. Mako tried to continue the burning, but it was no use, Zaheer already launched himself back into the sky.
Kuvira ran up to Tonraq and said, "I have an idea."
Once Tonraq heard it, he shook his head and said, "It won't work. Zaheer will just carry you off."
"He won't if I have an anchor," she said, and explained exactly what she meant and what he needed to do.
"No," he insisted, "I won't do it. It's too dangerous. You might get hurt, or even die."
"If I die," she said, "at least I'll take him with me." She turned to see Tonraq's surprised expression being calmed by her determination.
He took a deep breath. "Okay, I'll help you. Get into position while I grab some water from the ocean."
All the while, it was too much for Korra to go on staying in the air. She landed on her hands and knees hard. Her vision blurred. Not even the avatar state could save her now.
While Zaheer was distracted, Kuvira launched herself off of the ground with earthbending and flew straight for him from behind. He turned in time to see her. Just as he blasted wind at her, the metal wires from her uniform came from above and wrapped his body up tight. Instead of trying to push her backward, he decided to try and fly upwards instead, carrying her off, but she didn't budge.
He looked down to see Tonraq water bending ice around Kuvira's feet, anchoring her down strong enough to the point where he couldn't fly away with her. Tonraq turned and slammed Kuvira into the mountainside, taking Zaheer wrapped in her wires with her. They both hit the ground hard, breaking Kuvira's shoulder as she landed on it. Instead of dwelling on the pain, she clamped the ground with her free hand, forcing the earth to move around Zaheer's body and putting him in an upright position, trapping him for good. The battle was over.
Kuvira took back her wires and held her left shoulder in pain as she stood up. She watched as Korra writhed on the ground in agony.
"You might have taken me out of the sky but it's too late for the avatar!" Zaheer said, "The poison did its job! She'll never be the same! You're too late!"
Mako took off his scarf and with aggression, wrapped it around his face quickly. "You have the right to remain silent!" he said, "Everything you've done will be held against you forever."
Tonraq ran over to Korra and held her in his arms. She groaned in pain as he brought her in close. "Korra," he whispered, "hang in there, please."
Bolin said, "She has to make it. She's the avatar and the toughest person ever." He turned to see Mako's eyes tearing up. Zuko respectfully turned away.
Kuvira, out of breath, walked over to them and said, "I can feel the poison coursing through her body. It's metal, twisting and ramming itself into every part of her." She cringed.
"If it's metal, maybe you can bend it out of her," Mako said.
"Please," Tonraq begged, reaching his hand out to her, "you have to try."
Kuvira nodded, as she kneeled beside them, completely unsure of herself. She gripped the metal in her body, and it was cooperating. She pulled it out of every vein, every muscle, every organ and forced upward. Korra writhed and groaned in agony. Kuvira didn't want to hurt her, but she had to get it out. Korra coughed and convulsed as Kuvira ripped every last ounce of the mercury out of her system. She threw it to the side into some hot lava as Korra left the avatar state and instantly relaxed.
Her father held her close in his arms. Korra reopened her eyes, no longer glowing and managed to fain a smile at him before passing out. "She's going to be okay," he said, cradling her, "She'll be alright!"
"Good," Bolin said, holding his chest in relief, "that means it's all over and we won! Finally!" Mako wrapped his arm around his shoulder.
Tonraq looked up and held his arm out to Kuvira, "Thank you so much, Kuvira! You saved my daughter's life; you saved the entire world! Your parents must be proud of you."
"Oh," she said, "thank you for the sentiment, but I don't have parents."
His heart broke. "You poor thing," he said, "come here." He pulled her in for a hug, "I'll take care of that. Everyone deserves parents."
Kuvira hugged him back, careful not to squish Korra, and said, "That's alright. Parental figures tend to get disappointed in me sooner or later. But thank you." She pushed away from him gently.
Zuko smiled at them, and just as he was about to speak, the entire island shook once again as the volcano blew it's top. "That's our que to leave!" he said, "I have a fleet on the other side of the island."
"Let's go!" Bolin said, moving the earth from under them. Together, including a tied up Zaheer, made it to the other side where Firelord Zuko's ship waited. His crew eager to leave knowing they saved the day.
