The years were flying by so quickly. Oriana had turned ten not so long ago and had gotten so much stronger. She used her other form most of the time. How could she not, she felt so much more powerful with the battles she fought and especially with her training with Oden.
He didn't always have time especially when his second child was born. It was a girl this time, and they gave her the name Hiyori. She had a darker version of Toki's hair color, and she was beautiful.
Oriana would love to say that she'll surpass him soon, but the way he held himself was a clear sign that she was still a really long way from that. She noticed her father from the corner of her eye, and she knew that those fifty years might not be a lie after all.
"Alright, O-Riana-chan. That's enough for today" Oden said before turning his eyes to the ocean, "The fish are in an uproar. Is there some natural disaster?" Marco asked, "It's coming from that island, Whitey-chan" the samurai pointed to nearby land.
The crew was excited to see the island along with the ones responsible. Momonosuke and Hiyori were crying as Oden went over to comfort them, "It's alright, it's okay" he laughed, excited to see the ones responsible.
As they got closer Oriana felt very powerful auras as wild animals were running away. She saw Oden jump off the ship and run into the island. She was about to go after him when her father placed his hat on top of her head, "Take care of that for me, treasure" he smiled down at her.
Oriana just nodded as her father ran into the island as well.
She didn't want to be left behind and ran after them too. She arrived just in time to see Oden get slashed into a tree, "What are you doing to my nakama?" she yelled, "Nakama? You're a part of Whitebeard's crew?" a man with a funny beard asked.
"That's right!" she yelled and was ready to attack him, "Wait, Oriana!" a voice echoed through the forest. Both of them looked up to see Whitebeard, "Here he comes" the man smirked at the sight of her captain.
"Get back, treasure!" her father yelled. She nodded and went behind some cliffs.
Oriana had never seen her father smile like that before fighting someone. He mostly looked bored whenever someone challenged him, but what was so special about this man? By how things were about to unfold it seemed like she was about to find out.
The girl saw her father's blade turn black and so did the other man's along with some lightning. Their weapons were swung at each other before finally clashing as a huge force was released. She used the stones to hide from whatever that wind was.
Oriana managed to make a small hole to see her father actually fighting seriously, but that wasn't what was the most shocking. It was the fact that their blades weren't even touching, which only made it more epic.
The entire island was shaking, and she was surprised that it was even still standing. There was this huge wave before the two finally separated, "You look good, Roger" her father started. "How long has it been, Newgate?" the man, Roger smiled.
The two glared at each other for a second, "Hand over whatever you got" they said in unison before bursting into laughter. The two crew members joined their captain in battle. Oriana wanted to fight too and charged at two boys.
She ran over to the red-haired one and kicked him in the stomach. He landed a little back but she turned her attention to the other boy and he screamed when she ran towards him. 'He was very annoying' she thought as she punched his weird nose.
The red-haired boy got up with a smile, "There was some serious power behind that kick," he commented before he charged at her with his sword. Oriana easily dodged that and kicked him back again, but harder this time, "That wasn't even close to my full power" she smirked.
It was nice to see some serious improvement in her training. The samurai would always attack her randomly which she now realized gave her a better battle sense. She would forever be grateful to Oden.
She felt someone approaching and turned to see the other boy's torso coming flying with knives between his fingers. Oriana threw herself back and kicked him to the side, "A devil fruit? Interesting" she smiled. He looked like he was in a lot of pain, but he ignored it and came at her again.
Oriana was ready with another kick, but she flew through him and landed on the ground. He came flying with a laugh, "You can't defeat me" he smirked. She quickly got to her feet without moving much. When he was right in front of her she jumped up and kicked his face to the ground.
The clown boy passed out, "Over already?" she was a bit disappointed. She knew she was stronger but had hoped it would last at least a little longer. "You're really strong. I'm Shanks and the other one is Buggy. What's your name? he asked impressed.
"I'm Oriana" she smiled as she took her stand, "Oriana, huh? That's a nice name" the girl blinked a couple of times, "Thanks" she finally managed to say. She wasn't expecting to get a casual conversation with the enemy and normally she didn't.
That was why this was so weird to her.
He came at her swinging his sword, but she dodged it easily. Shanks took some dirt from the ground to throw at her, but little did he know that it was in her control. As he swung at her, Oriana kicked him extra hard in his stomach.
He landed against a hard rock before passing out, "Ups, I might have overdone that" she mumbled before walking away as if nothing happened. Oriana was now searching for a new opponent to fight when her eyes landed on a tall blond man with a scar over his eye.
He seemed very strong and there was something about him that intimidated her, but it only made her want to fight him even more. The man looked very much aware of his surroundings, and she had a feeling a sneak attack wouldn't work on him.
Oriana decided to attack him head-on by charging at him with a kick. The man just blocked it with his sword, "Not bad, girl" he grinned. She tried to kick him in the face, but he blocked that too. She tried different tricks, yet nothing seemed to get even close.
She laid her hand on the ground to make big stone gloves before going at him again. This time the man put his sword down and aimed his fist at hers. The two clashed and Oriana thought that she might have a chance to defeat him.
But that chance fell to the ground along with her gloves.
Oriana just stood there for ten seconds, trying to figure out what just happened. After the time passed, she still didn't know what to think.
She suddenly got angry, surprised, and impressed at the same time, "How did you do that?" she finally asked. "It's willpower" he answered, "What does that mean?" she replied. "You'll find out one day," he said before walking away. "I'm Oriana. What's your name?" she asked still baffled, "Rayleigh" he answered.
Oriana refused to accept defeat as she got up and attacked him again.
It continued like that for the next three days.
Every time Rayleigh defeated her, she would get back up till she was either too tired or until her crewmates stopped her. Buggy and Shanks challenged her every day too, and like her, they would get their butt kicked by someone stronger.
On the fourth day: The two crews had completely stopped their fighting and were now exchanging their supplies along with their treasure. Oriana was admiring everything, but her mind was still focused on the man that had defeated her time and time again.
She wanted to get back at him but knew she wasn't allowed to during their ceasefire. She walked around bored and thought of something fun and started drawing their battle. She drew her father's epic clash with the funny beard man.
Plus she wanted to do a harmless prank on the two boys she defeated.
Once Oriana was done, she went over to them with a friendly smile, but what they were talking about got her attention, "Hey, Shanks, do you see the guy with the hat? He didn't sleep during the truce we had for the last few days" red-nose said.
She looked to see who they were talking about and saw Teach. "I heard that he'd never slept in his life" he continued. Oriana couldn't figure out if it was true or not. She enjoyed her beauty sleep every night and never notice if Teach slept or not.
"You'd have twice as much time to enjoy life if you didn't need sleep. How's that even possible? I'm jealous" the red-haired boys answered. Oriana decided to come forward and stop hiding, "I'm not. I love to sleep. And about Teach, I heard if he sleeps an evil side will appear" she joked.
"Hey Oriana" Shanks greeted, and Buggy looked at him shocked, "Oi, she beat us! How can you act so friendly with her. She's a Whitebeard pirate" he argued. "I'm not going to apologize for that, but I want us to get along. I have never had friends my age" she answered honestly.
The two looked at each other and clearly didn't know what to say to that, "I don't know when we'll meet again, but I drew you something to remember me by" Shanks and Buggy smiled as she handed them the folded page.
They unfolded the page and a mean grin emerged on her face, "I want you to remember how I kicked your butts!" The two boys' faces changed to one of disbelief; Oriana heard her crewmates behind her burst out laughing.
Shanks and Buggy looked pissed, and it appeared as if they wanted to fight her again, "You better not. You'll only give her ideas for another drawing, yoi" Marco said while laughing from a distance.
Oriana ran away with a huge smile on her face. She ran behind one of the giant mushrooms, if they followed her she had another prank in mind. She looked for any signs of them but so far nothing. She knew she was faster than them yet it shouldn't take them that long.
After a few minutes, she went on with her day. She suddenly heard the voice of her father along with another one laughing, "Are you a child, Roger?" Oriana climbed up the mushroom to see her father, Oden, and the man Roger casually chatting on top of it.
She jumped up next to them with a smile, "Daddy! I want to show you something" she was looking forward to seeing his reaction. Oriana opened her book and show him her art. "This is really great work" her father grinned proudly. "That's impressive, O-Riana-chan" Oden smiled.
"Hahaha, I've heard impressive things about you" a voice laughed behind her, "You're the one daddy fought!" she observed him closely before looking to see if she got his details right, "And you must be the little warrior everyone's talking about" he smiled widen.
"Yeah," she smirked cutely. The man looked through her new drawing with big eyes, "It's really amazing" he commented, "It's good now, but it's going to be even more amazing when I color it," she responded cheerfully.
"I'm sure it's going to be. I'm Roger. What's your name?" the man asked, his smile never leaving him, "My name is Oriana" she answered. "That's a beautiful name" he smiled; the stranger gave off this cheerful aura that made her comfortable around him.
She looked down and noticed the paper with black ink, "What's that?" she pointed, "It's a map to the last island of the Grand Line" Roger answered, "Really? Can you read that?" Oriana looked skeptical at him, "No, that's why I need Oden" he whispered.
"He can read that?" she asked him, "Yeah, he can," he said. Oriana quickly turned to her captain, "Can I go too, daddy?" she gave him her biggest puppy eyes, "Absolutely not!" Whitebeard said with no room to argue.
"Huh, daddy? That's interesting" Roger suddenly interrupted, "What do you mean?" she asked a bit confused, "Everyone on your crew calls Newgate pops, but you call him daddy. Is that because-" he started but Oriana interrupted, "Yeah, he's my father" she simply stated.
"What?" Roger blinked a few times, "Yeah, my real father" her eyes met her father's with a bright smile. Roger noticed the way the two looked at each other, "Who would have thought that you'll have a kid before me, Newgate" he laughed. Whitebeard didn't say anything and kept drinking.
"I have a favor to ask: Please let me borrow Oden for a year. With him I know I can reach the final island" Roger suddenly turned serious. "Don't decide that by yourself" Oden answered, but the enemy captain bowed down in front of them.
The enemy crew started to panic, "Captain Roger is bowing his head to Whitebeard. That can't be good. Stop it, Captain Roger! He is our enemy!" but Roger didn't listen to them. "Please, Oden come along" he kept begging
Oriana didn't like that idea at all. Oden was part of their crew and couldn't just join another. She turned to her father, she could feel his rage building up, "Don't screw with me, Roger! Are you trying to take a member of my family away from me?" slamming his fist into the air making it crack.
"Whitey-chan" Oden said to gain the captain's attention. "I want to go with him! Will you let me?" he asked seriously. Whitebeard clearly didn't like that and it could be seen all over his face. "He's annoyed," Oden said, "Of course I am! We are brothers!"
But Oden was determined, "It's just one year! Please Whitey-chan" he begged. Whitebeard slammed both his fists this time making the quakes even greater, and the entire island was shaking along with the sea.
Oriana could tell her father wouldn't stand in his way if Oden really wanted to go with Roger.
Whitebeard was mad at Oden for leaving them and just sat in his chair with an angry expression. As the Roger pirates were setting sail Roger gave them to treasure and food as thanks for Oden, "Give the food back you fools. I won't forgive them if they let Oden's family go hungry!"
Oriana smiled at her father's statement. She knew he still cared deeply for him. She went over to the rest of her crew that was sending Oden and his family off with big smiles. She decided just for fun to give him a different kind of farewell.
She charged over to him with a powerful kick. The samurai smiled like a maniac, "One more time before I go, huh?" he pulled out his sword. Oriana swung her legs in his direction before clashing with his sword.
She jumped back smiling at him, "Next time we meet I'm going to make you at least take a step back!" she said as she shook her head and turned back to her normal form. "You have to work really hard to do that" Oden said as he put his swords back.
The Roger pirates were gasping in shock at her transformation, but Oriana ignored them. She went over to him and hugged him, "I'm going to miss you, Oden. Remember to bring me something before you come back" she said. The samurai laughed and rubbed her back, "Sure."
Oriana finally let go of him and took a step back to nip his children's cheeks, "I can't believe you two are leaving too. Now, I'm the youngest again! Goodbye little ones" she rubbed their heads. She then turned to Toki and gave her a warming hug, "Take care, Oriana-chan"
She smiled at them before turning to stand by the others, "Wait, Oriana!" Shanks was running towards her, "What's up?" she questioned, "Is this how you normally look?" he asked, "Yeah, why do you ask?"
Shanks smiled warmly, "It's amazing. You have so many talents" Oriana was taken back, "Are you sure you want to tell that to the girl that beat you?" he looked confused, "Why not? We're friends!" he said without hesitation.
Oriana's eyes widen but she collected herself again quickly, "Dummy! As if." she smirked at him. "Oh, I have to go now. I hope we meet again soon. Take care, Oriana" he ran off waving, "Worry about yourself more! I expect a better fight next time we see each other" she waved back.
"You bet!" was the last thing he said before boarding the ship. 'Friend, huh?' she thought as a sincere smile forced its way to her face. She stood beside Izo as the Roger pirates sailed further and further away.
Happy that Izo was staying, but he wasn't the only one that would stay. So would Nekomamushi and Inuarashi-, "Where's the dog and cat" someone voiced, "Those two!" her father growled angrily at those two suddenly missing.
Oriana sighed; they did that when Oden joined them all those years ago too. It was funny at that time but now see it really wasn't, especially to the people that were looking for them. Oh, well, they would come back in a year.
The Whitebeard pirates set sail not long after. Oriana walked around the deck and noticed that the entire atmosphere had changed. The ship was filled with people, but Oden had a way to make his presence seem seen. At times it was annoying but now she missed it.
She sat on the head figure and was staring at the ocean deep in her thoughts when someone came up to her, "Miss him already? It's been less than a day" a familiar voice said. "He'll be back, right?" Oriana surprised herself by suddenly saying that. "Of course, he will" Marco assured.
Oriana just hummed, "How about I take you on a flight. It's been quite a while" Marco suggested as he turned his arm into wings and feet into talons. She gladly jumped onto his back, but he noticed that she didn't have her usual enthusiasm.
Marco took off into the air as Oriana made sure to hold on tight. She was excited at first but as they kept flying her mind wandered to her missing crewmates. She rested her head against Marco's back trying not to appear sad.
"Do you want to go back?" he asked her, "No, it's nice up here" she replied softly. "Alright but tell me if you're getting tired, yoi" he added, and Oriana just nodded against his back. It wasn't long before Marco heard her low snoring.
He chuckled as he descended down to the ship. Once he was close, he transformed his wings back to his arm and quickly grabbed onto her before she slid down. "Marco" she complained sleepy, "Sorry, yoi" he apologized.
Marco took her back to her room and carefully laid her on her bed.

It's been a few weeks since then. Oriana was determined to get stronger ever since her father's fight with Roger. The two great pirates shook the entire island without any devil fruit powers. It made her realize that strength was a big key factor in this world.
They had stopped at an island yesterday and Oriana spent her time in the woods practicing her kicks when a loud noise echoed through the air. Oriana quickly ran towards the ship in case something had happened to her crew.
She saw her crewmates fighting men in white and blue. "Oi, girl get away from here!" a man approached her, "Don't hurt my family," she said to him, "The pirates are dangerous. Where's your family I'll take you to them" a man with a white cap put his hand on her shoulder.
Oriana looked confused when it suddenly hit her, "They're up there" she pointed to the ship. The man's face that she assumed was debating rather or not to 'help her', "Those pirates. How dare they kidnap civilians" he muttered to himself.
"Stay here," he said before charging into their ship with a group of men. Oriana just rolled her eyes and ran up after him. She found most of the men knocked out and the one she knew stood in front of her father out of breath when he turned to her, "I told you to stay down there!" he yelled.
He didn't see the way the pirate's anger grew, "And I told you not to hurt my family" she stepped forward, "I honestly didn't think you were that strong. I'm glad I was right" Oriana smirked as the man's mind finally put things together, "You are the girl I've heard rumors about" he sighed in defeat.
"Rumors about me? Really? What have you heard?" Oriana smiled excitedly, "That these pirate scum kidnapped you from a young age and brainwashed you into being a part of their so-called family" he spat.
Oriana's face changed completely, "I had hoped I could've saved you but it was too late," he said in regret. She jumped up and kicked him in the face, "I am the daughter of Whitebeard. Don't think just because I'm a girl that I won't defend my family!" she said before kicking him into the ocean.
She turned to the others, "I can't believe he thinks I'm kidnapped?" she burst out laughing and the others followed. They were just throwing the others into the ocean too before continuing in with their day like normal.
