Ever since the fighting the Roger Pirates, the marines have been after them quite a lot. Oriana wasn't sure if it really was such a bad thing. She was always the one volunteering to fight them as part of her training

Oriana had a hard time understanding why some weak marine soldiers were coming after one of the strongest pirate crews in the world. It was especially funny when some of the soldiers hesitated to fight her probably thinking she was a weak helpless girl.

Many of them hesitate to strike her at first but once they saw how keepable she was their doubt disappeared. Oriana was smiling through it all as she was kicking them hard.

They had never seen her normal form and she made sure they were only met with fiery red eyes.

Whitebeard and his crew were watching their youngest member with a proud smile and great admiration. They had all seen her grow up and even remember the day Oriana started her journey with them. It was hard to believe that frightened little girl had become this strong pre-teenager.

They had watched over her all those years and saw how far she'd gotten. The pirates burst out laughing once they saw the soldiers running away. It was a great humiliation for them.

Oriana got hungry after the fight and was sneaking into the kitchen to steal food since dinner was in a few hours. She had to make sure that there was no one in there before heading straight to the fridge for the ship's food supply.

Suddenly she heard footsteps coming closer and Oriana quickly closed the fridge before jumping up to hide in the ceiling holding on as if life depended on it. A second later Noki entered, and it seemed like he haven't noticed her.

She had already been banned a few times throughout the years. Oriana was sure she'll be banned forever if he found her now. She quietly chewed on a piece of meat while the chef got something in one of the cabins.

Noki got whatever he came for before leaving. Oriana sighed in relief as she jumped down before heading back to the fridge. She was too busy stuffing her face to notice the door slowly opened. She first noticed someone was there when she heard a throat being cleared.

Oriana was about to deny everything and come up with some lame excuse like she was 'sleepwalking' and her growling stomach led her to the fridge without her knowledge.

She knew that was a dumb excuse but it was the fastest one she could come up with. "If Noki catches you like this you're in so much trouble" she turned around to see Teach, "Oh, it's just you" she stated before going back to eating.

She stopped for a second to look at him, "Are you going to tell him?" she asked, "I might just do that" he smirked. Oriana took something out, "Shame. Here I thought we could share this delicious cheery pie" she waved it in front of him.

Teach looked hungrily at it before he sat down next to her.

The two were enjoying the food together when she felt more footsteps approaching. "The chefs" she muttered, "What?" Teach asked, "Oh, nothing" she shrugged.

Oriana refused to get caught like this then she turned to her crewmate with a great idea, "I'm stuffed. Here, you can have the rest" she smiled, "Thanks" he answered.

It seemed like he still haven't noticed the footsteps yet. Oriana went over to the porthole, jumped out, and carefully closed it behind her to let him take all the blame. She stood there for a moment to hear the chefs yelling at Teach.

Oriana laughed before walking away with her hands in her pocket as if she just didn't scam some poor fool. Which was pretty accurate actually. He was in it just as much as she was, but Oriana wasn't the one getting caught.

A few hours later an angry Teach came up to her, "I can't believe you did that to me. I'm on clean-up duties for a month because of eating all that food!" Oriana acted surprised, "That's a fair punishment for greed" she smirked.

It only seemed to make him angrier, "It was you! I even told them that, but they didn't believe me." The pirate girl wasn't bothered by his yelling, "Of course not. I wasn't the one caught stuffing my face. Which made you the perfect bait" she laughed as she walked away.

A few days later a newspaper landed on the deck. Oriana would normally ignore them, but a picture of her face caught her attention, "Daddy! Daddy! Daddy! Look at this" she showed her father a piece of paper.

The rest of the crew gathered curiously around their captain. The headlines were about Oriana and the article had a face of her with long white hair and red eyes. They had prorated her as a menace to the world and gave her emphasis 'Winter Blaze' along with a 41 million berry bounty.

"How am I Winter Blaze?" the girl asked curiously, "Your hair is white like the winter snow, and your eyes feel like there's fire in them. I think" Izo elaborated. "That sounds so cool. The true daughter of Whitebeard, huh?" Oriana smirked ready for the future.

Whitebeard on the other hand looked at the newspaper not knowing how to react. As a pirate, he was happy she finally gain the notoriety she worked so hard for. But as a father, he knew it was only a matter of time before the government would target her for her bloodline.

Oriana was supposedly the last living descendent of the Elf tribe who was destroyed by the world government forty years ago. They probably already knew about that because they gave her a pretty high bounty for supposedly only beating up some marines.

The captain knew he couldn't hide her forever and would have liked it so much better if she first was discovered when she was old enough to understand how this world really worked. Whitebeard knew he was going to have that talk about her ancestors with her one day.

But for now, seeing how happy she looked Whitebeard couldn't help but smile with her. "Let's celebrate Oriana's first bounty" Whitebeard announced with the crew gladly obeying.

A small ship was approaching in the distance and as it got closer, she saw a familiar beard. Oriana jumped onto the rail and she used her powers to pull the ship in, thinking Oden was on board too, "Hi Roger, or do you prefer Pirate King, now?" she joked.

"Yo, Oriana, you've grown up so much in just a year and I'm guessing stronger too" Roger had his big smile as he boarded the Moby Dick. "Of course! I'm going to surpass everyone here including you" she smirked.

The enemy pirate's face smirked as well, "Shanks was training to beat you one day. Don't slack off" he said. "There's just no way!" she quickly replied. "I saw your wanted poster, congrats. It's a good amount for your first bounty" he clapped her back.

"Yeah, thanks but daddy doesn't seem so happy about it" she knew her father well enough to know that it bothered him. "You're his little girl. He's happy for you but he knows it's dangerous and people will come after you" Roger explained.

Oriana just hummed. She had realized that after Marco pointed it out.

She looked at the small bag Roger was carrying and remembered something, "Is it true? There's a final island at the end of the Grand Line?" she asked excitedly. "Yeah, it's true! Listen Oriana there's an incredible treasure. Do you want to know what it is?" he asked.

She thought about it for a second, if she wanted to go to the island one day, Roger telling her would be a huge spoiler and ruin the fun of finding out for herself, "No, I might go there one day myself" Oriana shrugged off. But deep inside she was already sure to go there one day.

"You can go there with my son," Roger said, "You have a son?" she curiously asked. It was her first time hearing about this. He didn't say anything and just smiled. Oriana sighed, "Is there a special reason you're here? Without your crew..."

"I just wanted to meet your father one last time" Roger answered, "What do you mean 'one last time'? Are you going to d-" she was interrupted, "And I have a message from Oden" he quickly said. Oriana forgot whatever they were talking about because something more important got her attention.

"What is it? Where is Oden?" the girl questioned. "Where are your father and Izo? I need to speak with them" he said more seriously. Oriana quickly picked that up and nodded as she guided him over to the captain and the samurai.

Oden chose to go back to the Land of Wano because there were some serious changes that affected the people and the country very poorly. The samurai's dream was the see the world and something must have gone horribly wrong for him to voluntarily go back.

"We offered to help him, but he refused and told us that the Kozuki clan must do things themselves" Roger elaborated when he saw how the crew was ready to help one of their own.

Oriana looked down disappointed until Roger dangled something in front of her, "What's this? She asked, "I think it's a bracelet" he scratched his head while looking closer at it. The girl took it to try on her wrist, but it was too big.

Izo came up to her and took it before kneeling down to put it on her ankle instead. It was still a little too big, but it wouldn't fall off at least. "It's the souvenir you asked Oden to bring back and I helped him choose that, so I suppose it's from me too" Roger smiled.

"Thanks! It's beautiful," she smiled brightly.

The two pirate captains decided to talk about something in private. As they walked away, she noticed something different about Roger. He wasn't full of life as he was when she last met him… was he really dying?

Is that why he rushed his journey to the last island?

Even though he was her father's rival she liked his adventurous spirit and his contagious smile. If he was to die, she knew she'd be sad.

It's been months since Roger last visited them. A newspaper came earlier that morning announcing that the Pirate King was captured and was set to be executed in a week.

The girl read through the pages sadly. She figured it was his choice, yet she couldn't help but feel down. How was his crew reacting to this? How was Shanks feeling about this?

She would never had accept it if it was her father.

Oriana turned to Whitebeard as she realize how lucky she was to have him here still healthy and strong. As long as her father was here the crew will stay together. She went over to the captain and hugged him closely, "I'm so lucky to be here with you" she whispered.

She felt her father's big hand on her back as she relaxed her head on his shoulder.

Later that night Oriana had trouble sleeping. She was tossing and turning but her mind refused to relax. She didn't know how long she stared into the darkness in the room. After a while, Oriana decided to get some fresh air.

Oriana took her blanket over her head and body as she got out of the room.

She went over to the rail and sat there for quite a while, "What are you doing up at this hour, little one?" Oriana already knew by the nickname who it was, "I can't sleep, Marco" her eyes were still on the ocean.

Marco didn't say anything else and just sat next to her. Oriana moved her head to his side and relaxed on him. He didn't mind and rubbed her back in silence. The girl was slowly getting tired and her eyes heavier.

When she closed her eyes a lightning and a very strong wind suddenly came over the ship. Marco quickly picked her up and took her inside, "Stay here," he said while he called someone to help prepare the ship for the storm.

Oriana went over to help after clapping her cheeks to wake herself more up. She ran out to the deck like the others, "I told you to say inside" Marco yelled from the distance, "Just let me help" she yelled back, not because she was being rude but because the storm was very loud.

The girl was going to different people asking if they needed any help, but so far there was nothing. She leaned against a wall close to them so she could get out of the way as they silently told her. Oriana saw how hard they work to maintain the ship.

She wanted them to rely on her as well.

Oriana started feeling tired again and decided to go to bed. They clearly had everything under control. She walked around the deck to get to the other end when a powerful wind pushed her to the side.

She hit her back against the rail, "Ow" the place she hit started to itch.

She began to crawl to avoid the wind, but she was pushed back every time. Oriana held both her hands up to create her own wind to counter it. She pushed the wind with her own as she slowly got up.

But doing this wasn't easy, Oriana had a hard time maintaining control of her own powers. So far, she was barely keeping up, "Oriana" someone called. She looked at the person calling for a second while letting her guard down resulting in her flying over the rail.

"ORIANA!" she heard her crewmates yell.

Oriana felt the waves pulling her further and further down and away from the ship. She tried to swim up to the surface and saw her home for a short moment before being dragged down again. She spun around violently and felt her lungs starting to hurt.

The girl fell deeper and deeper into the sea.

She was about to lose consciousness but everything got unexpectedly calm all of a sudden. Oriana's instinct kicked in and she swam up to the surface. As soon as her head was over the water she breathed deeply.

She looked around for her ship, but it was nowhere in sight. Instead, she saw an island in the distance and climbed onto the harbor.

Oriana fell to the ground exhausted as her eyes felt heavy and before she realized it, she fell asleep.

The girl woke up in a bed with a headache. She tried to get up but suddenly felt dizzy, "Easy there," someone grabbed her shoulder as they carefully made her lay down again, "You're really warm," a female voice said as she touched her forehead, and Oriana turned to look at the woman.

She had gentle eyes and a warm smile. Oriana's eyes fell on her name tack, "Makino…" she read, "Yeah, that's my name. What's yours?" Makino smiled, "Oriana," she said lowly as she grabbed her pounding head, "That's a beautiful name,"

"So, Oriana-chan, I found you near the sea unconscious a few days ago. Do you remember what happened?" she asked carefully, "I fell off my father's ship…" she said, "I fell off my father's ship!" she repeated.

"They must be looking for me! I have to go" Oriana quickly got up and ran out of the room. "Wait!" Makino yelled behind her. Oriana turned to her, "Thank you for everything!" she said as she turned right at the corner.

She didn't know if she was going the right way or not and just followed the sound of people. Oriana opened a door to, what she assumed was to be, the outside but to her disappointment, she was still inside.

She ended up in an empty bar and there was this delicious smell in the air. Oriana stopped to sniff the air as she walked over to the counter. Soon after Makino came over to her with a soft smile, "Go ahead and eat. It was meant for you anyways".

Oriana looked at the woman with gratitude before she dug in.

After a few minutes, she felt a group of people coming in laughing and ordering all kinds of drinks. "Cheers to Luffy's guts and our great journey" someone yelled when they got their drinks. Two people came up and sat next to her, "It didn't hurt" the voice cracked.

"That's a lie. Don't do such stupid things again" a much deeper voice said. "I'm not lying. Take me on your next journey. I want to be a pirate too!" Oriana stopped and turned to the ones next to her, 'So these people are pirates' she thought and turned around to see the ones behind her.

They were quite many of them, but her attention changed to the man next to her bursting out laughing, "As if you'll ever be a pirate! It's a fatal flaw for a pirate to be an anchor" the man with red hair argued.

"It'll be okay as long as I don't fall into the sea! I'm strong too!" the kid said. A group was encouraging their boss to allow the kid to come with them. That was until their captain told them to give up their spot for him.

"I thought you were on my side!" the boy yelled, "Don't get mad. Here's some juice!" the man said gently. "Thanks" the boy smiled and drank it happily. "See, you're still a kid! Ha!" he burst out laughing while slamming the counter.

Even Oriana found herself laughing along with the rest of the crew, "That's not fair, Shanks!" the boy yelled which made Oriana stop and looked up at the man. "Your name is Shanks?" she said louder than intended.

"Yeah, that's me!" he turned to her with a smile and suddenly froze and he looked just like the Shanks she knew especially with the straw hat. His reaction told her he recognized her too. "Oriana?"

"You sure did grow up. Did you eat a devil fruit that made you look older? That's not how you beat me" she smirked at him. "What are you talking about? What happened to you?" the man said, "What happened to me? I saw you a year ago, Shanks. What happened to you" Oriana replied.

"I don't know what's happening, but your crew has been looking for you for years now," Oriana felt her heart drop, "I know I made fun of you a lot, but this isn't something you can joke about! Makino already told me I've only been here for a few days."

"I'm not joking! What's the last thing you remember?" Shanks tried to reason with her. "I-I was out on-on the deck because I couldn't sleep" she tried to remember, "Why couldn't you sleep?" he asked, "Because… uhm because I was sad" she felt nervous but wasn't sure why.

"Why were you-" he started, "I WAS SAD BECAUSE ODEN LEFT US AND FOR YOU" Oriana snapped, "I was sad for you because your captain was about to die and as my *gulp* friend I wanted to see how you were doing," she said a lot calmer but her voice got lower with every word.

Shanks put his hand on her head and smiled warmly at her, "I appreciate that Oriana" but he suddenly turned serious, "Captain died twelve years ago and that's how long you've been missing" he looked into her eyes.

Oriana started breathing heavily, "What? That's not possible!" she stood up to move away from him, "Oriana, listen-" Shanks took steps forward, but she took steps backward, "No, it's only been a few days. There's no way" a wind started circling her.

She looked at the man and saw a resemblance to her friend. No matter how much she wanted to deny everything the fact that he knew her name was proof enough.

Oriana noticed the wind and went outside before she fell to the ground, "I can't breathe" one hand was on the ground while the other gently held her throat. The waves got rougher and the ground around her cracked, "I want my crew. I want my daddy!" she didn't notice the way her appearance changed.

The pirates stood outside the bar not knowing what to do, "Boss, what's going on?" the crew panicked. Shanks didn't answer them but went over to her broken form, "Oriana!" he said as he used his arm to block the dusty wind from his eyes.

The girl didn't hear any of that. Her mind was thinking of her family, "They must have given up looking for me by now" she sobbed. "They haven't given up!" she heard a voice behind her, "Huh?" Oriana looked at him with teary eyes as he got closer.

"Even after twelve years, they are still looking for you!" Shanks said as he stood tall in front of her. "Do you really mean that?" she said as everything calmed down, "You know them. What do you think?" he smiled and went down to her level.

"Yeah, they wouldn't give up" she tried to wipe her tears away, but new ones soon replaced them. Shanks rubbed her back as he nodded to his crew for them to get inside, "Can we just pretend this never happened" she said after the tears had dried.

"It's okay to cry you know," he said calmly, "Thank you" she smiled gratefully at him.

The two just sat there in silence just enjoying each other's company until Oriana remembered something very important, "Are you stronger than me now?" she looked up at him.

But instead of answering he burst out laughing, "Let's go back" he clapped her back before standing up and walking away. "Wait! You didn't answer me!" Oriana ran after him

As she went inside the boy Shanks was teasing before ran up to her, "That was so cool! You can even transform!" he had literally stars in his eyes. "Transform?" she looked confused as she looked at her skin and grabbed some of her hair to see the color, "Huh, I didn't notice" as she turned back

Oriana smiled and put a hand on his head before she continued walking. Shanks sat by the counter, and she sat next to him and the boy sat at Shanks' other side. She noticed how everyone was staring at her, she refused to let it get to her and let them see more of her embarrassment.

"Here have some juice" Shanks moved the cup in front of her, "Right as if I'll fall for that". He took a big slurp, "There's nothing wrong with drinking juice!" he replied before he gave it to her. She looked at him and started drinking expecting to hear laughter, but it never came, "Thank you"

"No problem" he smiled, "Oi, Shanks! That's not fair! Why are you only making fun of me?!" the boy yelled angrily. "She's my friend," he just shrugged, and the boy looked like he was about to curse him but just walked over to a black-haired man with a ponytail.

"That kid is entertaining" she chuckled, "Luffy, right?" he quickly turned to Luffy with a smug look and his hand up to his mouth, "Anchor" which only seemed to piss the boy more off, "Hahaha I want to try some of that too" she smirked when the door was suddenly kicked open, "So, these are the so-called pirates. They look like a bunch of bums"

A man with lazy eyes walked in with men following behind him before standing by the counter. "Welcome" Makino gave them a nervous smile, "We're Mountain bandits. Don't worry we are not here to destroy your bar. We want to buy ten barrels of sake"

"I'm sorry but we're out of sake at the moment," Makino said, "Is that so? What are the pirates drinking then, water?" the leader asked, "No, but they're drinking the last sake we had" she responded angsty.

That was the moment Shanks decided to speak up, "I'm sorry. We drank the whole place dry" he smiled up to the bandits, "You can have this if you want. It still hasn't been opened" he extended the last bottle to him. It seemed like the bandit was about to take it but smacked it with his fist instead.

Both liquid and glass got all over Shanks, "I'm a wanted man. I'm worth 8 million berries. One bottle isn't even enough for a bedtime drink. Don't insult me" the man said. "Ahh the floor is all wet," Shanks said as he went down to the floor.

Oriana noticed how he calmly picked up the pieces of broken glass, "I'm sorry about that Makino-san. Do you have a rag?" The barmaid was coming around the counter, "I'll take care of it" she said but stopped when something else broke.

"It seems like you like to clean. Then maybe this is more fulfilling. See you wimps" the bandits said as he and his gang left. Makino went over to Shanks, "Are you okay, captain-san?" she asked concerned. "Yeah, I'm fine," he said before he and his crew started laughing.

The girl sighed as she jumped down to the floor, "It'll be easier if the floor was dry" she placed her hand over the wet spot and lifted the liquid off the floor. "That's so cool, Oriana!" Luffy yelled with his eyes shining.

Oriana smiled at him, "Let me show you something else" she formed the drink into a big circle before quickly separating it into a lot of smaller bubbles and putting them onto the table. It was still liquid, but it didn't fall flat down, impressing everyone.

Luffy went over and poked one of them, but his finger went through like normal, "How do you do that?" Oriana just smirked and threw it into the sink behind the counter, "You seriously had to let him treat you like that?" Oriana turned to Shanks in annoyance, "This is nothing" Shanks replied.

"Why didn't you fight? No matter how many they were or how strong they looked you should've fought them. That's not how men are supposed to act" Luffy said offended. "I can understand how you feel but it's just sake. It's nothing to get upset about" Shanks reasoned and took his hat off.

"I don't care anymore" Luffy turned away stubbornly.

"What a moody kid" Oriana commented and noticed Makino rubbing Shanks' shirt. "Hahaha yeah that's Luffy," he said and turned to her while putting on his hat. "What?" he asked when he saw her smirking at him, "Nothing" Oriana responded.

"Okay?" Shanks responded and turned to the sound of someone gulping down something, "Eating your frustrations out, huh, Luffy?" He turned to the boy, "Shut up!" the boy replied without hesitation.

Shanks' face quickly turned blue when he realized what Luffy might be eating, "What are you eating?!" Oriana turned to the boy as well, "What kind of fruit is that? she raised an eyebrow. Shanks went over to him, "Did you just eat what was in there?!" Shanks yelled.

Luffy looked scared for a moment.

Shanks grabbed the kid and turned him upside down, "Come on, spit it out. Spit out everything!" he shook him, "What are you doing, Shanks-" Luffy was trying to say but suddenly his face hit the ground.

Oriana panicked for a second, "What…?" Luffy mumbled.

Shanks explained to him that he had just eaten the gum-gum fruit and that his body now was rubber and how he never would be able to swim again, "What? No way!" the boy screamed, "Your dumb idiot!" the pirate captain yelled.
