Superwoman Returns

"Why are nannies for meta humans so weird?" Rae complained as she put Bella down for her nap.

"I know; like this one," Kara said, holding up one of the resumes. "Mick Rory, I don't even know what to do with this!"

"The one with the fire gun who grunts. Unless we want him to cook turkey, toss it," Rae dismissed as Kara laughed and crumbled the resume up in a ball and threw it into the fireplace.

"What about Astra Logue?" Kara asked.

"The one who just put on her resume 'Ruler of Hell'?" Rae asked. "I don't know what to do with that…" Kara gave a frown before tossing the resume next to the one from Mick Rory. "That Jax Jefferson wasn't so bad..."

"But he's more temporary than what we would want. He said he's only doing this for college money and he's already a few years in. Besides, we need someone full-time, and a college student can't do that," Kara explained, and Rae nodded as Kara tossed that resume into the fire as well. "Okay, who was your favorite?" Kara asked, putting the remaining resumes on the table.

Rae sighed went up to them and took out one of them.

"Esperanza Cruz," Rae said, holding up the resume, "or as she calls herself, Spooner."

"Seriously?" Kara, pulling a face. "The girl who said she would teach them to fire guns when they are older?!"

"Not exactly the worst thing for them to learn," Rae mused. "I mean you are an archer – they're similar types of weapons, only one is a machine."

"She claims she was abducted by aliens as a kid," Kara added.

"To be fair here, can we really say she wasn't?" Rae asked as Kara paused at that comment. "And she did pinpoint you as an alien instantly – if she really can read aliens minds, maybe she would be tuned into our kids needs very well. They are half-alien."

"And invade their privacy as they get older?" Kara rebuffed, and Rae could see Kara wasn't interested in this nanny.

"Okay, then who was your favorite?" Rae asked.

Kara picked up one of the resumes.

"Ava Sharpe," Kara said holding the resume out to Rae.

"The list-woman?" Rae asked, she now pulling a face.

"What's wrong with lists? She was very organized," Kara stated. "I was impressed by her planning on dinners, naps, and everything else."

"You know what wasn't on that list? Fun!" Rae pointed out. "We hire her, and she'd be like a little drill sergeant. Our kids won't have fun with her. I don't know if she knows the meaning of the word."

"Well, we got to choose some…" Kara's sentence was interrupted by an unfamiliar voice.

"Excuse me," the two turned to see a man standing there; he was handsome, had dark hair and for some reason reminded Kara of Clark. "I'm sorry – the front door was open. Is this for the interviews for the nanny for two meta human kids?"

"It is and who left the door open?" Rae asked.

"Must have been our last interviewee; that weird guy with the glasses… um Gary Green," Kara said, finding the resume. "Can I burn this one?"

"You better unless you want the kids to get nightmares," Rae mused as Kara tossed that resume into the fire, too. "I'm sorry, you're a little late, but we can do another interview. I'm Rae and this is my wife Kara." A cry called out from one the twins. "And that's Alister, who doesn't want to nap at the same time as his sister."

Kara went over and picked up their son and started rocking him. "Well, I'm Ray Palmer," Ray said as he took papers out of a briefcase he was carrying; Rae taking the resume.

"You have four PHDs?" Rae asked, seeing that right away – and Kara, who was still trying to calm the crying Alister came up to spy on the resume.

"None of them are in childcare," Kara pointed out – the four PHDs were in various sciences that didn't seem connected to the job of a nanny.

"I'm aware," Ray said. "When I was in school I ended up with a money problem." Ray didn't elaborate and Kara and Rae knew it wasn't their place to ask. "I started working at a day care to get money and found I loved taking care of kids. So, I became a nanny for meta human kids and my PHDs have come in handy. Along with being a nanny, I also run an online business where I make and create toys and other equipment for meta humans to help them learn their powers and train."

"Palmer Meta Tech!" Rae said right away. "I bought an enhanced football that's durable at high speeds from you. It has held up well."

"Why?" Kara asked turning to Rae at that.

"Um… something with Barry," Rae said, and Kara decided not to delve further as Ray chuckled.

"With this business, would you be able to juggle being a nanny for two kids?" Kara asked.

"Not a problem," Ray dismissed. "My business is by order. I invent and make them when I get requests and have a good bit of time. I've never had problems balancing nannying and Palmer Meta Tech. I do have a reference from my previous employers; as you can see the Hunters were very pleased with my abilities." Ray had handed over a letter and Kara and Rae took some time to read it over – it was a glowing recommendation from a woman named Miranda Hunter who said the only reason they didn't continue hiring Ray was their sons had outgrown needing a nanny. "And here are some sample things I do with the kids," Ray continued, drawing their attention back, "including meals I can make and activities I do. And since I would be working for you I would gladly make some equipment for their powers."

"Wow. Do you have any questions for us?" Kara asked the man.

"Yes," Ray said. "I saw on the listing you two are multiverse trackers and don't really have set hours."

"Yes, the rate we listed is for 40 hours a week. We would need flexibility since we don't have 9 to 5 jobs. If we need you more than 40 hours there an hourly rate for every hour you work over that," Rae explained; it was what she and Kara had agreed to after all.

"I can make that work on a couple of conditions," Ray mused. "If you wouldn't mind me when the kids are asleep working on my other business here, and if you wouldn't mind my fiancée visiting."

"Can you give us a moment to talk?" Kara asked as she continued rocking the crying Alister.

"Is he hungry?" Rae asked.

"He just ate and he doesn't need changing," Kara commented

"Let me, while you chat," Ray said, holding out his arms and Kara put the little boy in the man's arm as she and Rae went out of earshot.

"Is it me or is he perfect?" Rae asked.

"He's not only perfect, but on other Earths he's a superhero," Kara voiced, remembering where she had seen him before. Then, they both heard the crying stopped and turned to see Ray had calmed Alister down. "I think we found a nanny."

"Ray?" Rae called, the two going back over to the man. "Could you start Monday?"

"Definitely," Ray said with a smile.

"We'll set up a place you can work on your other business, and as long as you and your fiancée keep your clothes on, she can come here," Kara stated, and Ray chuckled but gave a nod as he handed Alister back to Kara.

"I'll see you Monday. Want me to shut the door on the way out?" Ray asked.

"I'll walk you out," Rae said as she moved over to the front door to see someone else was standing there, waiting patiently. "Sorry, the position has been…" Rae stopped as the woman who was by the door turned to look at her. "Claire? Kara, Claire's here!"

"What?" Kara gave running out. "Claire, you're back."

"I'm just going to go…" Ray said, seeing some sort of reunion was about to happen here.

"See you Monday," Rae said to the man as he exited and closed the door. "Welcome back to Earth, Claire!" Rae added happily; Claire Kent or Cora Jor-El was Clark's twin sister – she had left Earth several years ago to see about finding the remains of Krypton and see if any of their people had made it off and were at other planets. "How did you find us so fast?"

"Barry told me where you were and please, it's Cora now," Cora said with a smile as Kara gave Alister to Rae and went to hug her cousin.

"Oh, not so tight Cla… Cora," Kara moaned as Cora put her arms around Kara, who didn't mind if she now wanted to go by her Kryptonian name instead of human, but it was an adjustment to make.

"Yeah, don't break my wife," Rae said with a laugh.

"I'm sorry, how could I break her?" Cora asked as the group moved back into the living room where Bella was sleeping in the playpen. Rae put Alister down with his sister.

"I lost the majority of my powers," Kara confirmed for Cora; Kara raised an eyebrow as Cora body language clearly changed, instantly becoming not as open as before, which confused Kara. "Clark was dying and the only way I could save him was by giving up my powers. But it's fine, I'm still here, healthy, and happy. Speaking of, this is my son and daughter Alister and Bella."

"Who's the father?" Cora asked, a little coolly now.

"Barry," Rae said and Cora raised an eyebrow. "He's the easiest person on this Earth to get sperm from." Rae expected to see a sort of smile, but Cora didn't react.

"Well I was just coming to say I'm back. I guess I'll go and see Kal now," Cora said, standing from the chair she'd only just sat in.

"What's the rush? Stay for dinner," Kara implored.

"We can invite Clark over. Tell him to bring Lois and the kids," Rae commented. "A welcome back celebration."

"Thanks, but no," Cora said, already heading for the door, and was out of the house before either woman could say anything.

"She didn't even want to hold the kids," Kara said, sadly.

"She didn't even register the kids," Rae added in annoyance. There was something different about Kara's cousin, but she couldn't put her finger on it. Rae put an arm around her wife and kissing her cheek.

On Monday, after showing Ray where everything for the kids were, and where he could work on his inventions if needed, Kara and Rae were in their office, going over tracks.

"I like the new office," the two were surprised by Clark coming in, dressed in his Superman outfit. "Where are the kids?"

"Our new nanny has them," Rae said with a smile as she gave Clark a hug.

"You two are lucky you can afford that," Clark joked. "I might stop by to see them again soon." Kara had to smile at how affectionate Clark was with her and the kids. He had even stated he would have donated for Rae to be the one pregnant if they had wanted, but that obviously hadn't happened in the end.

"Not that I'm not happy to see you, but what are you doing here?" Kara asked. Clark didn't much come around their old offices, being a hero on this world more – and a reporter – than having any interest in the multiverse or tracking.

"Honestly, I want to ask you if you have noticed anything weird about Cla… sorry, Cora, since she came back?" Clark said. "I mean, I don't care if she wants to go by her Kryptonian name now – it's actually a nice name – but she gets angry if I slip and call her Claire. And she keeps calling me Kal, no matter how many times I tell her that's not my name."

"She only stopped by very briefly when she first got back," Kara said, disappointed that her cousin didn't seem to want to be around her or know her kids at the moment. "She didn't even hold Alister or Bella."

"She wasn't to kind to Jason or Ella either," Clark said, obviously not thrilled with his twin sister's attitude towards his kids. "I think we need to have a little House of El meeting at the Fortress soon."

"Maybe later, but right now we're expecting people," Kara said.

"And you might want to move over a bit," Rae said as Clark raised an eyebrow, but as he moved over a portal opened on the spot he'd been on, and out came a lone Barry dressed as his Flash outfit, with the blue background behind the lightning bolt, indicating this was Karry's Barry.

"Hey, Clark," Karry Barry said with a smile. "Oh, same face as Prime's Kal!" Clark raised an eyebrow as Karry Barry moved off.

"Your Kara not joining?" Rae asked.

"She's with the kids," Karry Barry dismissed as another portal opened and out came Cisco, another Barry, and a Kara in a while outfit, with her Kryptonian dog Powie. "Barry White-Two," Karry Barry nodded to his alternate.

"Barry Blue," Prime Barry joked as he greeted his alternate.

"Kal," Prime Kara said with a smile, seeing her cousin; Powie gave a growl to Samuel the Eagle, who was on his perch, but both animals were quickly quieted by their mistresses.

"Please, Clark," Clark groaned. "I have had enough of Cora calling me Kal."

"Sorry ours go by Kal," Prime Kara said. "And you guys have a Cora?"

"Who's Cora?" Karry Barry asked.

"Clark's twin sister," Rae said. "I told you about her. She went off to go find the remains of Krypton. She returned."

"No, you didn't," Karry Barry said, shaking his head. "But is this Gender Earth Claire's alternate?"

"Yeah, we have one now too," Prime Kara said. "A Crisis change."

"Crisis change?" Rae asked.

"After Crisis a lot of worlds had some minor changes to them, while some had major changes. The only people who can pinpoint a change is us Paragons," Prime Barry explained.

"Aren't we here for a reason?" Cisco pointed out.

"Oh yeah, Gypsy will be here in a moment," Bounty Kara said – and as she did, another portal opened. Gypsy came out, giving the gathered group a nod.

"Okay, now I think it's my time to take this over," Cisco said, happily. "First off, who here adapted my multiverse system?" Cisco pointed at the computers and Bounty Kara raised her hand.

"Well the system I created combined with your system when I installed it improving both," Kara said.

"Well, it's brilliant!" Cisco gave Kara a pat on the back as he went to the computer. "To map the multiverse, we had to go from Earth to Earth, placing systems on that Earth, but you figured out how not only to map the multiverse only from this Earth, but track portals, where they are going – even from Earths not your own to Earths not your own. It's a masterpiece!"

"Well, thanks, I did have some research from Krypton and the Luthors helped," Bounty Kara said, seeming a bit embarrassed as she went slightly red.

"This is true," Cisco stated, not modest at all. "Well, me and my Mutant alternate have come up with a way to take down this Evil Cisco, an Evisco, if you will," Cisco continued.

"Evisco? Keep thinking Cisco," Prime Barry rolled his eyes jokingly at this.

"There's a net app in the system. We used it to take down some world hoppers several years ago," Cisco said, seeming not to want to linger on that story. "We're going to use your system and connect the net app to set a trap for your Cisco. Besides, we have found a lot more people your Cisco has taken off this world."

"Yeah splitting those bounties has been worthwhile," Gypsy spoke up with a nod. Every time the two alternate vibes found someone who belonged on this world, they sent Kara a message. Since it was all connected to Ramon, she and Gypsy had been collecting them and splitting the bounties. It was an easy and a good income – even their Barry was able to get in on it from his offices.

"We just need to do some…" Cisco went to touch the computer but then an alert went off. "I didn't do anything!" Cisco held up his hand quickly, shocked.

"That's not to do with you," Bounty Kara said, moving forward. "There's some emergency on this Earth…" Bounty Kara pushed a button and video came up, showing Cora in her Superwoman outfit, being attacked by someone in some type of metal suit.

"Cora," Clark groaned, having been quiet and waiting as the multiverse showed up – wanting to finish planning with Kara more on what to say to Cora about her attitude since she'd come back. Now she was being attacked though, Clark turned and ran out fast, planning on going to defend his sister.

"I'm going," Rae said, getting her outfit on and running out.

"You guys want a hand?" Karry Barry asked.

"Yeah go," Bounty Kara said as she went to get her own outfit on and the two Prime alternates with their dog and Karry Barry went running. "Samuel come!" Kara added; to get to Metropolis fast from Starling, Kara needed her bird after all. The bird following Kara out to her motorcycle.

"Are you not going?" Cisco asked Gypsy who had remained still.

"Hero work is not my thing," Gypsy said. "What about you?"

"I'm more tech support," Cisco said with a smile. "How about I show you what we've come up with?" Gypsy came closer to the computer as Cisco started his explanation of the trap he had started working out.

Clark had reached the man attacking his sister first and was fast in throwing him off her; Clark noticing there was a piece of Kryptonite in his sister's chest and was quick in removing it and tossing it. He saw a flash catch it and was unsure if it was Rae or one of the alternate Barrys, but he didn't care. "Back off Superman, I'm doing this for you!" The man in the robotic suit said, his voice manipulated by the suit, it seemed.

"That's my sister!" Clark growled, his eyes lighting up. He shot out heat vision which the stranger dodge only to be hit by Prime Kara and her dog.

"What?" Cora asked, clearly confused as she saw the Kara in white join her brother.

"Let's take this idiot," Prime's Kara stated as Powie used her own laser vision on the man in the robot suit.

"I got the ship," it was Rae's voice on coms as Rae ran up a building. The robo-man had a small ship that was still firing at Cora, forcing the Kryptonians to dodge attacks as they fought. Rae went as far back as she could and jumped so she landed on the ship. She then phased through it.

"Nicer in here than I thought," Rae said once inside – the entire of the ship was small but could easily fit a couple of people.

"Hello, Captain Luthor," a voice said, surprising Rae, who noticed it came from a device attached to the front of the ship panels.

"You talking to me?" Rae asked.

"Yes, Captain Luthor, how may I assist you?" The obvious A.I. said.

"Stop the attack on the Kryptonians!" Rae implored, wondering if this was that easy.

"Please supply the code you gave in order to stop the attack," the A.I. instructed.

"Urgh," Rae groaned. Of course, this wasn't going to be that easy. "I could use someone who knows A.I.'s in here," Rae called, said wondering if she should just start destroying the ship instead.

"You're in luck," Rae wasn't surprised as a Barry appeared in the ship as well – this one was clearly Karry Barry. "A.I.'s are my thing." Barry pointed to himself as he said it and went over to the control panel.

"Hello, Captain Luthor," the A.I. greeted Barry, who paused at that.

"Interesting… it seems this A.I. can't tell the difference between humanoids – it thinks everyone is this 'Captain Luthor'," Karry Barry said as he brought up the code. "Oh, this is beyond glitchy. I could write a better code in…"

"Barry!" Rae said but had to smile at her alternate cousin.

"Oh yeah, right, well give me a bit to edit the code so I can take control of the ship. Meanwhile you find a place we can take this," Karry Barry said as he started on the A.I.'s code. Rae, meanwhile, took out a cellphone and called the only people she knew who could possibly house this ship: the Luthors.

-Bounty-

Clark and Prime Kara worked well together, dodging the stranger's hammer which had a bit of a kick to it when hit. Powie had gotten a hit by it, and Kara had not been happy with him hurting her dog. Cora had moved aside to check her injuries and watch the battle.

"I got this!" They heard a voice and there was a flash right at the stranger in the robotic suit, the flash going into the suit and then both Barry and the person inside fell out of it. Before either Kryptonian humanoid or dog could catch them though, the stranger was caught by Samuel. Samuel holding onto the stranger's arm while Barry held on to the man's leg.

"Well, this…" Clark didn't finish as the robotic suit continued fighting the two without anyone in it.

"Damn, that's new!" Kara said as she dodged an attack and Powie return to bite at the suit. "Let's tear this tin can apart."

Meanwhile, Samuel brought Barry to the floor where a motorcycle was heard, and Kara in her Super Blue Arrow outfit appeared. She was holding an arrow to the man. "Give me an excuse," Kara said to the stranger, clearly ready to take the shot.

"Well, look at that. Seems Barry-Blue has gotten control of the ship," Prime Barry said, getting to his feet, looking up to see the ship had stopped attacking the fighting Kryptonians and moved away.

"What's with the colors?" Kara asked.

"Ask Karry," Prime Barry said, watching as his wife, dog, and Clark tear apart the robotic outfit.

-Bounty-

"We have arrived, Captain Luthor," the A.I. said as it slowed down – once Karry Barry had gotten control of the A.I., he had directed it to stop the attack and then go to the Luthor building where they had an area out the back for ships and other large equipment. "Preparing for landing."

"Can you get it to stop calling us Captain Luthor?" Rae asked Karry Barry as the ship landed.

"Well, that's a lot more complicated of a re-write," Barry mused as he frowned at the code as the door opened.

"Hello," it was a second after the door opened that Lena Luthor appeared in the ship.

"Hello, Captain Luthor," the A.I. instantly responded.

Lena blinked. "Um… hi?" Lena said, giving it a wave.

"Well it finally got someone right," Rae joked.

"I'm not sure on the 'Captain' part, but I'll take the Luthor," Lena said, chuckling.

"Well, I'll take the captain," it was Lex, who poked his head into the ship.

"I thought you were going for President?" Lena joked.

"Hello, President Luthor," the A.I. corrected itself, making everyone in the ship pause and look at the console.

"It gets that?" Rae asked Barry.

"Yeah, you mind if I take this with me? Rewriting the code and making it work could be a fun challenge," Barry said as he went to disconnect the A.I. interface from the console anyway. "Besides, you guys don't have an A.I. anyway."

Before anyone else could speak Lena spoke up. "Well… of course you can take it," Lena said, giving Barry a smile that confused Rae. She had never introduced Lena to Barry, after all – any Barry.

"Thanks Lena, you're the best," Barry said, not really looking at the woman.

"You have me at a disadvantage; you know me, I don't know you," Lena moved over to Barry as Rae shared a look with Lex.

"Oh, sorry – I'm Barry Allen," Barry said giving Lena a smile. "I always forget… multiverse," he dismissed.

"You're Rae's brother?" Lena asked.

"Technically he's from another world visiting for the day," Rae said. "So, my alternate brother."

"Even more technical, I'm her cousin, but yeah I am," Barry said as he held onto the A.I. interface now. "Oh, and Lex Luthor, you're not a super villain here." Barry smiled at the man and moved off the ship with the man to talk.

"Rae…" Lena stopped Rae before she could move off the ship. "Why did you never tell me how cute your brother is?" Rae made a face at Lena. "Oh, right… he's your brother so you don't notice that. Why haven't you introduced me to your brother yet though? I wouldn't mind dressing him up and taking him out."

"Oh, he'd definitely go out with you, but you do remember how many nieces and nephews I have, right?" Rae asked and Lena gave a shrug, as if she didn't care. "Fine, I'll text you his number. Don't say I didn't warn you."

"Thanks Rae," Lena said with a smile and gave her a hug before walking out of the ship herself.

Rae sighed as she took her cellphone and went to text June Moon; The Baby Mamas, her dad and aunt, Rae and Kara, and a couple of other friends had recently started a betting pool on who would be the next baby mama for Barry. June was keeper of all the bets.

'June, I want to place max bet on Lena Luthor being next,' Rae texted – to be friendly, the max anyone could bet was $100.

'That's left field. $100 dollars on Lena. Anyone else?' June asked on the text, but Rae turned the screen off before she could see any other replies.

The Luthors had to contact the proper authorities to let them know they had the ship and get permission to experiment with it; they had also delivered the stranger to the police only to discover that he was from the multiverse.

After that, Rae had decided to return home, since it was getting late, while Kara and the multiverse Barrys and vibes went back to continue with the meeting about getting Francisco Ramon from before.

"Ray, I'm back!" Rae called as she entered and paused to see Ray sitting on the couch with a blonde woman she didn't know, but who also seemed sort of familiar. "…and I'm guessing this is your fiancée?"

"Yes," Ray said, not jumping up as he had both babies on his lap and Rae notice the TV was on to some kids show.

"Sara Lance," Sara said, she standing up and holding out a hand.

"Rae Garrick," Rae said. "Lance…? Any relation to Laurel Queen?"

"My sister," Sara said, raising an eyebrow. "Wait, your Oliver's friend! I saw you at their wedding."

"Yeah, same here," Rae said, remembering where she had seen Sara before. "Small world…" It really was. Rae and Kara hadn't known Ray had a connection to Oliver when they hired him but knowing that made Rae smile and feel more at ease with their new nanny. "Can I ask…?" Rae looked down at Sara's outfit – she was wearing cowboy boots and a Western outfits. On the counter was a cowboy hat.

"Oh, I work at Disney's Wild West," Sara explained, and Rae gave a verbal 'ahh' at this. Disney Wild West was Disney's third, and newest, theme park in the United States. It was here in Starling under a dome so it could stay open year-round and not have to close in the winter, given how cold Starling got. "In fact, Ray was just asking me about when I could get complimentary guest tickets for him and the kids one day."

"That will be fun," Rae said, giving a smile. "But you can…?" Rae paused as her cellphone rang. "Clark?" Rae answered as she stepped away from the other two.

"John Henry Irons has requested to talk to you," Clark asked.

"Who is that, and why?" Rae asked.

"The man who was in the robot suit, from the multiverse, he wants to talk to you," Clark said. "He won't talk to anyone else. Rae, he attacked my sister. Please…"

"Okay, I'll be there in a minute," Rae said, and hung up. "Um… sorry Ray, I was going to let you go, but Kara should be back in a half hour or hour. This is an emergency."

"Go," Ray said with a nod, and Rae moved out of the house to run off.

-Bounty-

Rae, in her Flash, outfit walked in the station with Clark.

"He asked for it in private," Clark was saying, "but if you want, we can turn on the cameras..."

"No, he might tell me more without anyone listening in," Rae said as they reached the interview room. She took a pause and entered the room.

"Wow, Rachel. It really is you. You're older… on my Earth you would still be a teenager," John Henry Irons said. He was a black man with no hair but a muscular build; Rae hadn't paid him too much attention before.

"Congrats, so you know an alternate me," Rae said, not reacting to the fact she was a teenager on his Earth. She knew there was a couple of Earths where she was a teenager and those Earths were in the same year. "I'm here. We're alone. No cameras on. So, what do you want?"

"I raised an alternate you," John Henry Irons stated, surprising her.

"You… what?" Rae asked, moving forward.

"Your father was my war buddy. Having a speedster when you're in the trenches was something else," John Henry Irons said as Rae forced herself not to react. "We got home and his house was attacked by anti-meta rioters. Him, his wife, his brother, his brother's wife, and his brothers young son… all dead. The only survivor was you." Rae still didn't interact. "Imagine my surprised when his will named me as your guardian. Changed mine and Lucy's life."

"Lucy?" Rae asked.

"Lucy Lane, my wife," John said.

"Well I'm going to give you this. That's a unique history," Rae said, never having heard her alternates history like that. "But absolutely none of it is true here. I don't know you. So, if this is all…?"

"Rachel, you can't trust Cora Jor-El," John said, leaning forward on the table.

"First off, you can call me The Flash," Rae said, not liking being known as her full name. "Second off, you attacked her with no reason. Why should I listen to you?"

"I'm trying to stop what happened on my Earth," John explained.

"What? Cora did something?" Rae asked. "Even if she did on your Earth, who's to say she will do it here? It's called the multiverse, not the same verse."

"I've been here for a while," John Henry Irons surprised Rae by this. "I've done my research. While your personal history may not be like my world, the rest of this world is almost a direct parallel. The Superwoman of my Earth left to find the remains of Krypton," John explained, "and when she came back she was different; she didn't go by her human name anymore and she didn't care for her cousin, as Super Blue Arrow had lost her powers. She kept calling Superman 'Kal' no matter how many times he asked her not to," Rae paused. "If any of those things are true, and I can tell from your face they are, you can't trust her."

"Let's say I'm curious and you're right… what will happen?" Rae asked.

"Superman will be the first one," John Henry Irons said, "the man is a true hero, but he will never see his sister betraying him. She kills him." Ice ran through Rae's veins at that. She loved Clark like he was her own brother. "Super Blue Arrow already gave up everything to save him once – she can't do it again and Cora is too much for her and her bird. She'll be next." Rae hands turned into a fist. "Green Arrow, Black Canary, all the vigilantes – none of them stood a chance. In the end the world was on your shoulders. Yours and mine. I made the suit and ship to assist you, but I was too late."

Rae could see the real emotion in John Henry Iron's voice – an alternate of Rae was this man's daughter, and Rae had a feeling this story didn't end well for her. "You were keeping toe to toe with Cora, but when the others came," John Henry Irons said.

"Others?" Rae asked.

"Kryptonians, the House of Zod and their followers," John said. "You alone could not defeat all of them. I watch them tear you apart. A… thing from the Speed Force collected, well, you, and then left. The Earth's last hero dead and us no match to them. The Earth in terror. I continued building the suit and ship to counteract them, but then I somehow ended up here."

John Henry Irons paused as he waited. "I smiled whenever I saw a trace of you," John Henry Irons said. "Even older. I watched you from afar the other day, but I knew I couldn't interrupt… but then I saw her and Clark. I knew it was repeating. I just knew it. I can't let them die. Not Clark, not my brother-in-law." Rae paused, but if this man was Lucy's husband then Clark was his brother-in-law. "Not Kara, and definitely not you. Please you can't let this happen again."

"I won't just attack Cora," Rae finally said as she went for the door and paused. What this man had said had gotten to her? "But I'll keep my eyes out," Rae gave John Henry Irons a nod before leaving the room. He had given her a lot to think about.

Post Chapter Note; Yes, this chapter has been more on Bounty Earth itself. And yes, this is the start of a Superman and Lois-inspired story. Also, do you guys realize anything about all the nannies Rae and Kara were considering? They're all quite Legendary.
