"You can't leave, not now." Serenity frowned as Endymion strapped his sword to his side and slid his boots on. "The baby will be here in a few months, you can't just leave. What if you aren't back in time? Or if Malachite misses the birth of his children."

"I can not send my men out there and expect them to fight for me if I am not willing to go." Endymion took Serenity's hands kissing her fingers then placing their interlocked hands on her bulging belly. "It is probably nothing, but we need to check out any threat."

"I know." Serenity sighed leaning her forehead against his chest as he pressed his lips to the top of her head.

"My mother and the girls are waiting in the garden for you. I will be home before you know it I promise.

Serenity was right to assume that it would not be a quick trip. As the men arrived on the further outskirts of the kingdom they found there to be an all out war brewing. Men and women alike claiming to work for something called The Dark Kingdom threatened to overthrow the king and the silver millennium. Serenity was forced to send more of their army to where Endymion was. To where the war was starting.

"Have you eaten yet, Serenity?" Ami asked as she placed a plate of cheese and fruit down before them.

The senshi gathered in her room sitting around on the floor at a low table on pillows, it was a miracle that Mina and Serenity could get down onto the floor with how big their stomachs were. Mina especially, the doctor was concerned Mina would not make it full term, the stress of Malachite being away at battle was not helping.

"Not yet no, feeling a little nauseous today."

"There is ginger tea here, drink it up it will help with the nausea." Lita said as she took a sip out of her porcelain tea cup causing Serenity to eye her suspiciously.

"You're pregnant." Serenity smiled a Cheshire smile as Lita almost choked on her tea, her face turning red as she cleared her throat.

"I was wondering why you started wearing loose dresses and have not been begging the chiefs in the kitchen recently to cook." Mina laughed, placing her hand on Lita's shoulder as her face seemed to turn a new shade of red.

"With everything going on I didn't want to say anything, and with Mina not able to fight I became the next in line to lead and with the war, I am going to have to fight since I am not far along."

"Absolutely not." Serenity frowned

"This is not up for debate, I am a warrior first."

"Lets not argue now, please," Mina sighed "No one thinks the war will get this far, at least that is what Malachite explained when he wrote last."

"She cannot fight during pregnancy, it isn't safe for her or her child. What would a Nephrite say?"

"He respects my choices. And understands my duty is to protect you as his is to protect the King. You cannot change my mind or tell me anything different." Lita snapped slamming the cup on the table so hard it cracked like the lightning Serenity knew thrived threw her friends veins.

"Ami, please you've studied with the doctor."

The blue haired Senshi frowned looking down at her tea shaking her head "I am sorry Serenity but we were trained Duty above all and even though I know it isn't okay she has made her choice.

"It has been a month since this war has started. And from what I hear it is only getting worse no matter what Malachite has said to Mina. You could all Die if you keep this duty before life so seriously." Serenity yelled looking at her Senshi one by one "I will not lose my friends."

"We are your Senshi first then your friends." Rei spoke her voice cold causing pain to strike through Serenity's heart. Rei's violet eyes were just as cold as Serenity looked into them, her eyes welling with tears.

"We took the oath to protect you at all costs. To lay our lives down for our Kingdom. Mina and Lita knew this when they laid down with their husbands and fell pregnant and though Mina cannot fight Lita is choosing to defend you and your heir and when Mina gives birth she will recover and then choose to fight."

The tears dripped down Serenity's face as Rei spoke, her voice cold and hard. Serenity struggled but stood walking to the door slowly.

"I am tired. Please leave." the princess whispered as she looked at the floor, Lita helped Mina stand who stopped in front of Serenity trying to catch her eye.

"Serena-"

"Don't." Serenity stopped Mina, "Do not try and use your nickname for me. We are not friends, you will address me as My Queen or your majesty." she looked up with her eyes hard.

The senshi all frowned, bowing their heads before walking out the door, Serenity slamming it behind them as she walked to the bed and sobbed into Endymions empty pillow.

Serenity spent the next couple weeks avoiding her Senshi. They still escorted her everywhere she needed to go, only she didn't speak to them like she usually would. Endymion and the Generals were still away fighting a battle that they seemed to be losing with how the enemy's troops were getting closer and closer to the castle. The month now being June, Serenity rubbed her belly, her heart aching as she realized her daughter would be born during a war and her husband would likely not be here for the birth. Mina had officially been put on bed rest by the healer thinking she would give birth before Serenity would.

Dear Sere,

I am sorry I am not home. The Senshi have written me, they are worried

For you, please do not push them away for doing as they have vowed to do

They love you like I do. The generals and I are okay only minor injuries,

We will try to get home soon, I swear to you that I will try to be there when

Our daughter enters this world. Please do not push away your friends, you

All need each other in moments like these.

I love you my queen.

Forever yours

Endy

Serenity's tears dripped onto the letter as she held it to her chest standing in the sun on her balcony. She looked over at the newly blossoming garden remembering the walks she and Endymion had through them. Jumping, she was brought out of her day dream when she heard banging on the door.

"Serenity, it's Ami, please open up!" The usually quiet Senshi yelled through the door as Serenity walked over, yanking the door open to see her friend's wide blue eyes and heavy breathing. "It's Mina, she's in labor and asking for you."

Serenity gasped, taking her friends hands as they quickled started walking towards Mina's room. Serenity's bare feel slapped on the stone as they walked as fast as her pregnant body could go, she could hear her friends crying as they approached the room, Lita stood outside the room guarding the door. The girls shared a small smile as Lita swung the door open to see Rei next to Mina gripping her hand, the midwife sitting at the end of the bed speaking soothing words, and telling Mina when to push and breathe. THey froze at the sight of the blood on her hands and on the bed coating Minas inner thighs.

"Ami, good grab the towles over in the corner. My queen please sit on her other side and use the wash cloth there to cool her forehead and neck.`` She gave us both stern looks as if to say not to ask questions about the blood.

"We are here Mina." Serenity whispered, taking her friend's clammy hand as she dabbed her forehead with the cool cloth she found in a bowl next to the bed.

"I see a head Mina, you are doing good and progressing quickly."

"Has someone sent word to Malachite?"

Rei looked up at serenity and gave a stiff nod as an answer. Serenity knew the chances of him reaching here in time was slim but for her friend she hoped he would get here soon. She couldn't seem to pull her eyes from the blood she could see spreading on the bed Mina pushed a few more times before the room was filled with the cry of a baby. As soon as the sound flooded the room Serenity's mind flashed to the videos she had of the future. Instead of Mina holding twin babies Malachite was there alone with a small smile on his face as he watched two blonde twin girls play. Looking around she didn't see Mina anywhere her heart quickened as she saw the sad look in Malachites eyes.

The door slammed open and Serenity's eyes refocused just as the midwife passed her a little blonde baby wrapped in a golden yellow blanket. She looked at the door expecting to see Malachite, her heart sped up when she saw Endymion standing there, his armor covered in dirt and blood along with his face and hands. His eyebrow and lips were split dry blood from them still on his face. One look at the blood on the bed and Minas pale face told ENdymion all he needed to know as his face hardened and he walked into the room.

"My King this is not a place for-"

Endymion held up a hand silencing the Midwife and he walked to the basin of water scrubbing his hands clean.

"Step aside My love." he whispered to Serenity who backed away from the bed trying to soothe the baby in her arms.

"Where's Malachite?" Mina whispered her voice sounding as tired as she looked as she turned her head to Endymion.

"He and the others are on their way, my horse is faster." he whispered softly sitting on the bed and taking her hand, their hands started glowing.

"No." Mina tried pulling away her hand but Endymion held firm.

"My Lady, I see the next baby's head." The midwife's eyes widened as we all noticed that the blood was slowing Mina's face, already gaining color back as Endymion's healing magic flowed through her.

The little baby in Serenity's arms finally settled, as Mina began pushing again, the second baby taking longer than the first. Just as she gave one final push Malachite ran through the door, the other generals lingering outside with Lita as she shut the door again. Malachite looked just as bad as Endymion covered in dirt and blood. The second baby came then though unlike the first she was silent and still.

"Give her to Mina." Endymion spoke, his voice strained as the still almost blue baby was placed on Mina and she began sobbing. The baby like Mina began to glue Endymion's face draining of color, his brow beginning to sweat as the baby let out a loud cry, her body turning a pink color and moving. Rei stepped aside, letting Malachite up next to the bed as the Midwife hurried in delivering the afterbirth, and cleaning Mina as much as she could. The glow faded, Mina looking almost as good as new besides the sweat on her brow.

"Thank you." she whispered to Endymion as Malachite helped her wrap the baby in an orange blanket. Serenity came and placed the other little girl on Mina's chest and the babies seemed to find each other, both calming as Mina and Malachite's warmth wrapped around them. Serenity jumped when she felt Endymion's hand touch her belly as he looked up at her under hooded eyes before the last bit of color drained from his face and he slumped off the bed hitting the floor with a loud thud.
