Title: Worth It
Author: BasketKiwi
Format & Word Count: "Poem" (if it's decent enough to be considered one. ;); 100 words exactly! -victory dance-
Rating: PG
Prompt: #2 (Anne Bradstreet quote)
Warning: None . . . (-cough- Horrible lack of talent! -cough-) . . . nope, none whatsoever.
Summary: "Sometimes I wish you could be born a butterfly"
Author's Note: I personally dislike it, but it was what I could come up with. Again, forgot my notebook in my locker over the weekend. Ickful.
Why does bitter come before sweet?
Things start out in shells or seeds before flourishing.
Sometimes I wish you could be born a butterfly
without having to eat everything first.
You were polite, but distant.
And then you were curious, but hesitant.
And finally you were downright mean.
But that didn't last long.
Next you were blazing,
and needed to burn out.
Which you did.
And there was regret.
And I wouldn't understand, of course.
I was only in love with you.
Stupid prat.
But when you came back,
it was worth it
to see you smile . . .
