Author's Note: This was for my Civics class, the directions were-

In the space below, write a letter of criticism to this person with the intention of trying to convince him or her to shape up. Include each of the following…..

Provide specific reasons why their behavior is wrong.

Explain ways which they can improve their behavior to become a good citizen.

Explain what would happen if nobody behaved as a good citizen"

Dear Makoto Shishio-sama,

I have been reviewing your behavior and have come to a finale conclusion. It's wrong! You can not go around murdering people, setting fires to towns and trying to over throw the Meji Government. Trying to lead a revolution is good and all, but there are limitations.

You are a citizen of Japan and in being so you have an obligation to your country. Instead of blowing up Tōkyō, let's take that creative energy and apply it to something more constructive (not destructive). You could protest instead of overtaking. Or write letters stating your views on subjects and have your voice heard in the new government.

If everyone decided to seek revenge, like you did, then there would be a lot more deaths in the world. A good citizen should care about others before himself. And not be selfish. Please consider my alteratives to your destructive actions.

Domo Ariagto,

Kuroii
