9 Years old
It's been two years since Lily had agreed to teach Harry magic. It had been fascinating seeing Harry use his magic.
She never had imagined that Harry was so powerful that he could learn high level spells so easily and so quickly. She sat on a chair, in the duelling room in the Potter Manor and watched Harry destroying the dummies with reductos. She had been a little reluctant to teach him dangerous and fatal spells but he was adamant that he needed to learn everything to keep them safe. To keep her safe.
As always, Lily gave in to his wishes and taught him whatever he asked for. She had no resistance to his cute and determined pleas. She had thought of finally contacting Sirius to ask him to teach Harry some duelling moves but had quickly decided against it.
After the day James had died, Lily had taken Harry to the Potter Manor and had enabled all the wards, making their house an unconquerable fortress. Since then, she and Harry had never ventured out of the Manor wards and no one was allowed to enter. Absolutely no one. Only the owls and elves were the medium by which Lily kept in contact with the outside world. After the betrayal of Peter Pettigrew, she had decided to trust no one but herself.
Harry had made some fuss about not being able to get out and meet people of his own age but Lily had been able to convince him to wait until he was eleven before going out of Potter Manor. She knew it was unhealthy how she was keeping Harry isolated from the outside world but she felt it was necessary. Voldemort was still out there according to Dumbledore, so her paranoia was valid in her mind. She looked at her boy who was jumping and dodging, his wand moving at incredible speed. He was special, she thought with a smile. He was very special.
'My precious baby boy.'
After the duelling session, Harry went to the bathroom to clean up. Lily quickly undressed completely and then changed into her nightwear, a blue slip over her naked body which went down to her knees and then she laid on the bed, waiting for Harry.
She also knew how inappropriate it was that she kept Harry on her bed and didn't let him sleep on his own bed but she didn't care. Having him in her arms was a boon against the nightmares. She was selfish, she knew.
She smiled kindly as Harry entered the room. He was in a loose black t-shirt and cotton shorts. He grinned at her as he jumped on the bed beside her.
"Hey, mum!" he greeted, laying on his side, shooting her his trademarked lopsided grin. She gave him a fond smile, his energetic behavior was annoying sometimes but most of the time it was adorable.
"Hello, little knight." She herself rolled over on her side so she was facing him. "I think we should start studying potions. You already are efficient in DADA, Transfiguration and Charms."
Harry made a face at that. Potions wasn't flashy enough to interest him.
"I can see what's going in that tiny brain of yours. Yes, it isn't that useful in battle or duel but it is an important subject. It will be useful in making healing potions and many other essential potions." Lily smirked, patting his cheek.
"Hmm, if you say so." he shrugged nonchalantly before yawning, he scooted closer and snuggled with her, his arm wrapped around her waist and he pressed his face against her voluptuous chest. "I am tired, I am going to sleep. Goodnight Mum."
"Goodnight, sweetie." she whispered softly, cradling his head against her bosom, humming a soft and pleasant tune.
