Chapter 19

Medusa found herself entering the wrong room. She was too immersed in what she was reading that she unnoticedly entered her Master's room.

"Oh." She simply said, as she observed the place. Her Master wasn't in here.

She placed her bookmark on the page she was reading and, holding the book in her hand, went to sit on the bed.

"Its as comfortable as the ones I share with my sisters…" she remarked. She placed the book on the bedside table until she took notice of a different book on it.

She inspected the cover, and found it simplistic. She couldn't decipher whatever its title was, however.

She wondered who the book's owner was. Or perhaps it was her Master's all along?

She pondered over these questions when someone entered the room.

"Eh? Medusa? What are you doing here?" asked Ritsuka, and Medusa immediately stood up, bowing down.

"I'm sorry, Master. I was so immersed in the book I was reading that I entered the wrong room." She apologized.

Ritsuka simply chuckled. "Oh, its alright. I wouldn't mind you coming here, anyway." He remarked.

At this, Medusa got confused, but she didn't dwell on it.

She looked at the book on her Master's bedside table other than her own and decided to ask him about it.

"Master, what is this book?" she asked, holding the book for him to see as Ritsuka walked towards her.

He looked at the book and smiled. "That's from…someone." He answered. It was a generic answer, one that made the Rider confused, but she let it be. Perhaps the book was only meant for him?

She found it amusing, to say the least, that the Master has at least one book to keep him company, because someone special, she assumed, gave it to him.

"I see." She simply replied, placing it back on the bedside table.

"Anyways, I just remembered that we do have a library here in Chaldea." Ritsuka then said. This piqued Medusa's interest. "A library?" she repeated, and the Master nodded, smiling at her.

She was elated to know that there exists a place here where she could read in peace. Her room was fine, but her older sisters stayed there as well, which made it harder to concentrate on reading.

"Yeah. Although it's actually a mage workshop made by its librarian, it is a library nonetheless." He continued on, and he noticed that, even though Medusa's eyes were covered, she was getting more and more interested.

"We can go there now if you want. I don't have anything to do today, surprisingly." He added, and Medusa showed him a genuine, beautiful smile.

"Thank you, Master."

"Ah, Master! Hello and welcome!" greeted Murasaki Shikibu, waving at the Master as he entered.

Medusa followed closely behind him, although…

"…oh! I didn't know Master was with someone! Hello and welcome to you too, Lady…?" she trailed off a bit, as it took a while to register in her mind who this Heroic Spirit might be.

"Medusa…" the tall girl timidly replied.

Murasaki was surprised. "L-Lady Medusa! I'm so sorry I didn't recognize you!" she apologized, trying to make herself presentable all of a sudden.

"Calm down, Murasaki…" consoled Ritsuka, and even Medusa was concerned. "I-Its alright, Miss Murasaki." She replied, smiling at her.

After a few more exchanges of pleasantries and another apology, Murasaki waved at the two of them happily as they went to look at the various books on the shelves.

The shelves were definitely big, and the two of them found themselves walking even further, not particularly looking for a specific book.

During this time, Ritsuka told Medusa that she can go first so she could find what she wanted to read, while he just tailed her from a distance, occasionally looking at her whenever she would stop to skim a few books.

'There is indeed a certain charm with a beautiful woman looking for books.' He then thought, nodding as he welcomed such an observation.

He then approached her as he noticed that Medusa was now actively reading a book.

He took a look at the title. It was her own name.

"The monster Medusa..." she began, "a monster with snakes for hair and a petrifying gaze, right? That isn't all that far off..."

She looked at her Master, with a smile that Ritsuka found…sad.

She then continued nonetheless. She flipped the page of the book she held. "This body is like the one I had before Athena's curse..." she said. "But I have no idea when I'll turn into a monster again. If that scares you, you should end our contract while you still can." She told him, looking at him again.

Ritsuka took a step forward and reached for what was covering her eyes. A mask of protection, it seems.

Medusa took a step back, but Ritsuka was able to take hold of it. He held her arm gently as he slowly took it off.

"I made a contract with you, Medusa," he began, "knowing full well about what you are. It doesn't scare me, and even if it did, I won't end our contract. Because if that happens, I will face you, for that is my duty as your Master." He told her, now able to see her eyes.

Her eyes widened at her Master's conviction, almost moving her to tears.

Thankfully, she held the tears back. It was odd that she was becoming sentimental like this.

'Perhaps it is a good thing…' she thought. She showed him a smile.

"I see. That is very comforting, Master. Thank you." She replied. Ritsuka managed to smile at her, as well.

She then went to a nearby table, sat down on the chair, and read the book that was about her. Ritsuka then went to look for other books with the same title, telling her that there are multiple accounts written about her life and famous stories, weirdly enough.

Medusa didn't mind though: she found it all the more intriguing. And so, she and the Master read.

A stack of books on the table, a sleeping Master, and a Servant that kept on reading. Medusa then closed the book, implying that she already finished reading.

She stared at the stack of books on the table. It may not be a large stack, but it was all impressive nonetheless. She then remembered the books she has in her own room.

"Perhaps I can ask the librarian if there's an empty shelf available?" she asked herself. She then looked at the sleeping Master.

She smiled. She then wanted to test something.

She reached out for his head, intent on holding it. She expected the Master to either wake up with a jolt, or wake up normally.

What she saw was a different outcome: even though Ritsuka was fast asleep, his hand instinctively held Medusa's back.

The Rider's smile only grew. "You're very kind, Master. Or have I been deceived?" she softly spoke.

"…no, Medusa." Then softly came the voice of her Master. She was surprised, but she did not let go of his hand. Ritsuka opened his eyes, still drowsy but awake nonetheless. "I will never deceive you." He then told her, softly still, but genuinely enough.

Of course, the Rider trusted her Master's words. "I have no doubt that the words you speak of are true." She replied. Ritsuka smiled. "You know you should show your eyes more often." He remarked.

Medusa blushed, looking away. "How bold…" she replied.

Ritsuka then sat properly, looking at her. "Well, if you want, you can show them only to me." He told her.

At this, Medusa only blushed further. Her Master really was a bold one.

Ritsuka then yawned. "Hmmm, it's getting pretty late it seems. We stayed here longer than I thought…" he said and stood up. "Well then, I have to go get a few snacks at the cafeteria before going to my own room to get some rest." He told Medusa.

The Rider then went to hug him from behind. This surprised him, but then Medusa buried her face onto his neck, and this only made him flustered, and unnecessarily feel hot.

But he didn't tell her off. He touched her hands. He felt the sincerity of the action.

The intimacy of it all.

"Allow me to go get food, Master." She whispered. Ritsuka nodded. "Very well. Meet me in my room." He replied.

Medusa nodded. She did not let go.

He then noticed something and began chuckling. "You are quite tall, Medusa. Its not that obvious when we walk together, but you hugging me from behind shows the slight difference." He remarked.

"Yes…I was this tall before I was cursed…I'm the only one of the Gorgon Sisters to be this big…" she replied, and she sounded sad.

"Hey, its nothing to be ashamed of. I like you even if you're tall. I mean, that's what makes you attractive too." He then complimented.

"M-Master…e-enough. I-I've heard enough…" Medusa replied, letting go of him now.

Ritsuka immediately turned around and held her by her waists. This surprised Medusa. "M-Master…?" she said.

"Hmmm, I'm not really that hungry." He said. He looked at the still blushing Medusa. He chuckled and held her hands.

"Let's just go, Medusa." He told her, and she timidly nodded.

Her long, pink hair, while seemingly looking prim and perfect, was a bit messy, and as I looked at the woman on top of me, I only found her even more attractive.

She exhales as she keeps moving, and as I hold her gently in place, she moaned softly. She then brought herself down, kissing me deeply.

As we continued to move in a gentle rhythm, I ran my hands across her back, letting her moan in my lips.

She broke away and looked at me. Her eyes were so alluring.

"Master~" she softly spoke.

She then held her moans, as we both reached our climax. She then collapsed onto me once again, letting her be embraced by my arms.

I kissed her forehead. "How did it feel?" I asked her, even though I myself felt exhausted.

She pecked my lips, and gave me a smile. "Wonderful." She replied. I then kissed her, deeply.

Medusa gazed at the bookshelf that was filled with her books. Though there were still a lot left to fill, she smiled, knowing that her own personal collection would be viewed upon by other people as well.

She's thankful to the librarian for providing her with a shelf so readily, seeing as she was also excited to have people add books to the vast library.

Arms then wrapped behind her. She noticed it was her Master. He kissed her neck.

"M-Master…not here…" she pleaded, and Ritsuka simply chuckled. "Sorry." He simply said.

He remained behind her, as Medusa enjoyed being so intimate with him as well.

"I didn't realize how much my book collection had grown." She remarked. "We've been together for a long time, haven't we?"

"Indeed we have." Answered Ritsuka. "The road ahead of us would be harder, a lot more challenging…would you still aid me even if our journey's ending is still so out of reach?" he then asked, as he kissed her neck again.

"Yes, I'll fight with you for as long as you let me, Master." She then replied. She turned around, letting her Master fully hold her. She placed her arms across his shoulders, hands behind his neck.

Ritsuka could look at her face all day. He could gaze at her eyes forever.

Medusa has never felt this happier. She was usually timid and calm, mostly keeping things to herself.

With her Master, however, she couldn't stop smiling.

The two of them shared a passionate kiss with each other.
